When a wolf is pregnant, but you're impatient and want the pups, you use a figurine and "pop" her. It's slang for making her give birth.

Shadow Chaise | M: Finley
Shadow tilted his head, feeling the pulse of the other mutant get closer before stopping nearby. An alleyway most likely. Shadow tilted his head once more before opening one blind eye. His other was hidden in his eyepatch but that was normal. His energy power reached out before reaching the mutant. It simmered slightly before relaying the information back to Shadow. Male, age over 25 but younger than 30, calm. The powers caught Shadow's mind more than the appearance. Power detection like his, an air element which Shadow himself was still learning. Another appearance, seperate, warrior. Shadow's energy gave a shudder before retracting, a nullify power as well.

Shadow sighed, tapping his cane once, letting a couple people pass him before limping towards the alleyway. His hearing picked up the many beating hearts around and breathing. Only one stood out with a little fidgeting which he would guess was the mutant. He got to the opening before tilting his head towards the street once. Once sure that no one was looking his way, he limped into the alleyway. He tilted his head towards the man before saying calmly, "Well, you've been alone for a while. What might your name be?" The man most likely wanted to know his name first so Shadow said, "My name is Shadow."

Jorah || M: Cybele, Open

The second chapter was just as interesting as the first. He could feel the story finally beginning to kick off, both George and Lennie having found their newest work, with the chapter introducing several other characters and acting as a form of Slice of Life. But as he read that same damn question arose, why did George care? What could Lennie possibly offer him? Hell, he even lied to his bosses face to help get Lennie a job! Lennie, the same man who has cause them a slew of issues in the past, and yet he still keeps him around. Is it pity? Surely, from what he knew people often took kindly to those less fortunate. Those incapable of caring for themselves... Children, elderly, the injured, and so much more. Why though? He sighed, Humans were odd things.

Jorah closed his book, his eyes closed as he raised his head to towards the sun. He could sense the faint tingle of warmth from the Californian Sun, and yet he couldn't feel it. He didn't feel much of anything in all honesty. His hand rose to touch his face, his fleshy hand slowly felt his malformed cheek. The brittle skin, cold and stoney in texture. Bone and decayed flesh. Dead. He surely looked human, but Jorah was sure he was anything but...

A small grunt sounded out from his side, catching his attention. Opening his pale ghostly eyes, he was met by a transparent figure. Jorah could feel his lips move down slightly, and the faintest of a strain within the pit of his stomach. No Mortal Man could do what he does...

"You know your the tenth one this week", Jorah said softly. There was a reason he avoided cities... The Spirits tended to stay near the places they died, and in cities it was often rather gruesome, much like the Spirit before him. Gone was his eyes, the once well fit dress shirt now torn and ragged, his body bloated slightly as if his body was tossed in the river, becaming pruney and pale. The Spirit was silent, standing before the young man before making another strange grunt as if requesting Jorah to follow.

No Mortal could do what he does, what he does was something only Monsters could fathom. He could see ghosts, let's not beat around the bush. No, not only see them, the Dead would even rise at his beck and call... Not that he'd do that, even if Jorah was a Monster the Spirits - like the one leading him through the park - were once living. Once people, and it was his job to release them from the Earth, to help them move onto whatever lay after death... A strange job he supposed, but Jorah was sure he was the only one who understood. He was one of them... At least he thinks. He wasn't truly like them, he was real. He could touch things, speak. He was alive somehow, yet not?

The Ghost lead him out of the park and through the city with practiced ease, as if it knew the streets by heart. Sadly Jorah quickly got lost in the turns, not that he cared. The pair moved to a more quiet part of town where the streets were practically empty, before the Ghost stopped before a flower shop. A small little thing,, out of the way form all eyes to see, like a hidden secret within the bustling city. The Spirit stared for a moment with their blind eyeless gaze, before running their gnarled transparent hands upon the door. They stood still, the World seeming to freeze until the Spirit backed away from the doorway, their expression holding a mixture of terror and confusion.

"You died here, didn't you?", Jorah asked.

The Ghost could only nod.

"This place was important, wasn't it?... Home?", was Jorah's reply.

Another nod, but the Ghost seemed to have calmed down. Jorah's eyes looked into the flower shop through the window, it was ran by a young woman around his age. He couldn't help but stare, his mouth agape as his eyes narrowed in a scrutinizing way. She felt familiar in a way he couldn't put a finger on, like she held a strange aura around her, something comparable to himself. But there was no way... The Others, creatures like him. He was sure he'd ran far enough. Jorah slowly backed away from the window, his eyes wondering towards the Ghost. It seemed to gaze at him intently, before Jorah nodded his head in an unspoken agreement. Taking a look wouldn't hurt. Both entered the store, yet only one truly made an entrance.

Jorah's eyes began to take in the shop, before looking back at the girl at the counter and once again he couldn't help but stare for a moment. Looking back at him was the greenest eyes he'd ever seen, not even a forest in Spring bloom could compare. Blinking out the surprise, he spoke softly.

"Hello", he said curtly before taking a look around the shop seeming to revel in the strange warmth in the building, he was certain he could almost feel it. The shop was full of all sorts of homey touches, such as the comfortable looking furniture, the soft lighting, and jam-packed shelfs... But what really caught his eye were the plants. The plants were immaculate, simply gorgeous and in perfect condition. Each flower so full of color and life, even the lowliest of plants such as mosses within terrariums stashed away upon the shelves were thriving. Life.

Whoever took care of all these plants was clearly a master.

"It's so green in here", he spoke out loud to no one in particular, his voice it's usual soft blandness yet there was a faint hint within. A compliment? Though, even a fool would have made such an astute observation, the shop was filled to the brim with lush green foliage. Still it felt right, like a strange aura washed over him, simply demanding calm.

It made him uncomfortable.

[Behold! My greatest of powers, rambling for an hour!]

Malaki:
Mentions: Jorah and Cybele
Malaki continued strolling down the streets, not really knowing what to do now that he had accomplished everything he needed to do for that day. He rounded the corner and eyed the flower shop he bought the flower from yesterday. If she's not tending to customers, I bet that lady behind the counter must be bored out of her mind. Figuring that he really did have nothing better to do, he walked over to the display window and looked inside, seeing if the same lady from before was behind the counter, and sure enough she was, but there was another person inside, and his appearance made Malaki stop cold. The other person inside didn't even look like he was alive to begin with, and the more Malaki saw of Jorah, the more he was conviced that he was a zombie, or some kind of undead. He looked back at Cybele and she didn't seem all that bothered by his appearance, but Malaki was. Slipping into the store, Malaki quietly walked over to the front desk, getting an eyeful of Jorah as he perused the various good that Cybele offered. Is... is this guy like me? Has he been experimented on by Ibex as well? Is he even alive to begin with?! A chilling thought came to Malaki. If this guy was expiramented on by Ibex and he's undead, then Ibex knows how to cheat death... that is a scary bit of knowledge to hold. He was torn whether to shoo out the zombie or leave him be, so he stayed by the counter, waiting for something to happen.

Finley Neil Blake | Male | 26 | Ambi/Single | Apres-Gay/Demi-Gay | Nevada | Mentions; Shadow(Ind/Dir), Open.

Finley didn’t have to wait long for the other to come after that, it seemed. Because the pulse was moving towards him and for a second, the air wrapped around his fingers stilled, waiting with him. There was no reason to being out Conven if the mutant was hostile, even against a higher score, that would only bring unwanted attention. And besides, he had other ways that he could do it. Nullification paired with his aerokinesis had been his favorite in the past. Before his emotions had slipped further away, that is.

--

A man with a can and eyepatch came limping into the alleyway he was in, and Finley knew from the pulse that that was the mutant. The first thing that stood out to Finley was how one of the long sleeves rumpled up, a sure sign of an accessory. Finley placed his own right hand behind his back, he’d rather be the only one with such information.

--

The second thing that stood out to him was the height the other possessed, and the glazed emerald orbs came after that. Overall, Finley was ready to assume that he could certainly defeat the other if the need arose. And so, Finley stayed.

--

Well, you've been alone for a while. What might your name be? My name is Shadow.

--

Finley paused for a moment, his thought automatically going to names. Names. Shadow. The first name Shadow was transferred from the surname Shadow which was transferred from the name Shade. Shade means boundary, shadow, and wraith. Wraith was the likeness of someone right before death as an apparition or a ghost, boundary was keeping things out, shadow was an insubstantial form. Finley couldn’t make a good guess about this man without his last name. All he could get for now is that either the name is wrong or that the name is right and Shadow is hostile.

--

Either way, he should reply. A small, calm smile showed on his face, though his eyes were empty. His voice, though quite convincing with it’s own small smile within it, still held an air of hollowness that one simply had to look for to hear. “A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Shadow. My name is Finley.

Cybele Pastrana | Mentions: Jotah, Malakai
-
The singular sale from before was enough to brighten Cybele's day. A singular rose for a single man--almost poetic. Cybele had put great love into those ribbon-wrapped roses, pruning them regularly, but never clipping them of their thorns. She felt as if they were more authentic with their thorns, like they were filled with a sense of more love with the thorns rather than without. She hoped that curious man from before enjoyed his rose, or whoever he gave it to, did.
-
She spent a few minutes bumbling around the shop. Fixing misters, restocking the pots, and hanging up some gardening tools around the cashier. Her entire shop was filled to the brim with things to look at, whether it be flowers, books on pollination, and little bee decorations for home interiors. Everything she sold was partially donated to bee-saving funds, and the rest was kept for herself and keeping her shop afloat. Cybele cared very much for nature (while also being a part of it), and it had a tendency to take up every crevice in her mind.
-
She went back to lollygagging behind her counter. Tapping her fingers on the mahogany, she held her chin in one palm and gazed longingly out the large windows near the front. It was a sunny day, almost too sunny, with the sun beaming down right above the shop, and through the window in the ceiling that lit up the entire room. It was an intoxicating golden hue, little dust mites filtering through the air like sparse hints of smoke. The plants loved the overhead ceiling window, often straining their leaves to the middle, like the colorful stripes of an iris twirling in to the middle of a pupil.
-
As she gazed off and shut her eyes, she was suddenly alerted by a jingling bell overhead. Immediately perking up and her eyes flying open, she opened her mouth to greet the customer, just as she had done before. She paused, air caught in her throat, gazing over the visitor. Was he... okay? He was still standing, however, and that definitely meant something. It quickly clicked in her mind that the two were similar to each other, as she stole a glimpse to her palms, and realized he was probably a mutant as well. Odd, she thought, but exhaled a sweet, saccharine greeting with words laced of kindness.
-
"Hello! My name is Cybele, how may I help you today?"
-
She pursed her lips as the man's gaze filtered into nothingness, caught up in her eyes. Cybele sampled a small smile to fill the air, darting her gaze down to her feet to avoid embarrassment on her part. He mentioned something about the greenness of the room, to which she beamed. "Yes, these plants are very green. I take care of them very well," she stated proudly, puffing out her chest.
-
Suddenly, without her having noticed at first, the man from before slipped back into the store. She flickered her gaze towards hom, nodding once. "Welcome back, sir."

Nyx || Mentions: Levushka, Kiril

Nyx plopped down on the couch, grabbing a pillow, placing it beside her, and she leaned down against it. She yawned, and rubbed the back of her neck, groaning slightly. Ever since she found out she was pregnant, she had been aching all over, and her energy was drained far more faster then usual, causing her to be sitting down more. Interestingly, she hadn't gained any weight from her laziness, the only thing that seemed to ever change was the size of her stomach. As it got larger, she became more worried. She never knew how these things worked out, and she didn't even know what she was going to do after the baby came. She had no parental figures in the past, so she had a low probability to be a 'great parent'. Many things stressed her out, so many thoughts that terrified her. She tried her best not to think of them, but they just kept coming. Her worst two fears were if this child would split her and Lev up, or if the child was born a stillborn.. the thought of it made her shiver. "I'll make you something good to eat. Actual food...and maybe some ice cream on the side," she heard Levushka speak, and nodded, taking a deep breath in and out as he left the room.

When her food arrived, Nyx nodded her head in thanks, and began to eat, the clinking of the fork to the plate constant. She finished it quite quickly, and leaned back, onto Levs shoulder. She breathed slowly, and most of her breaths were deep and slow. For the past few weeks, her breathing slowed down, she didn't know if it was normal or not, but she certainly did not like it. Sometimes in the morning, she can barely hear herself breathing, and she thinks she may have died during the night at times. "Instead of a dog, we got a lion. What a weird family we have. Any regrets?" Nyx took a moment to think about it, looking down at the lion, and smiled faintly, "Can't say I do." She closed her eyes, and relaxed.

Dakota || Mentions: Levushka, Nyx, Kiril, Ibex (ind.)

Dakota walked in, buttoning up her plad shirt, pushing the sleeves back, and looked to the lovely couple, "I'll be back, got to do something." She crouched down, and began stroking Kiril's soft mane, "Later bud." She stood up, and rolled her shoulders, heading out.

Where was she going exactly? Well, she was heading to the grocery store to get more food. Nyx kept eating everything in sight, becoming a trash food can. So, it was probably a good time to to get some food. She took a pair of keys out of her pocket, and flung them into teh air, catching them again. She came up to a bland grey Ford car, and sighed. She missed her trucks, she always felt tall and 'cool'. Oh well, soon.. soon it'll be back to normal. She had a plan.

Dakota ducked into the car, pushing the keys into the ignition, turning them over, the engine rumbling to life. She put the windows down, and took a deep breath in, and coughed. "Gotta love that exhaust," she grumbled and pulled out.

Dakota was driving along just nicely, until something ran into the road, and her heart stopped. She punched the break, the car screeched to a stop. She was breathing heavily, her heart racing. Sitting in the middle of the road, was a vest.. and in big, bold, white letters, "I B E X." She didn't hesitate, and punched the gas, the engine revving up slowly, racing forward, running over the vest. "Its ok, its ok. Just, some random, thrift store shit. Its ok, its ok," she told herself, nearly yelling at herself. She looked around for her phone, and scrambled for it. She began typing it, texting Nyx, Be careful, K? Im seeing things, but stay inside for me.

Glory || Mentions: Jackson, Dia, Aztec, Ibex (ind.)

"Let's go find somewhere to stay then. I don't have any places in mind... I kinda... don't have any money. Which doesn't help." Glory shrugged her shoulders, "Well, I am glad I do." She looked around, "Well, lets walk around, see if we find any decent hotels or motels or something." Aztec reached for Glory's hand, and she took it, smiling slighty, then she looked to Jackson to see he was offering his hand. She took his hand as well, and smiled. She began walking forward, searching back and forth.

Glory glanced around, making sure everyone was still around. Dia, check. Aztec, check. Jackson, check. She looked around again and all of a sudden, her ears began to ring, a piercing sound echoing. She lost Jacksons and Aztecs grip, and fell sideways, knocking into Jackson. She held the sides of her head with her hands, gritting her teeth. She squeezed her eyes shut, as she slowly crouched to the ground, sitting their on her knees. She knew this sound, she knew it all too well, the thought of it was horrifying and it made her legs shake. "Grab the kids-" she groaned pointing towards them, and squeezed harder against her head. Then it, just.. stopped. It was pure silence, the only thing she could hear was her rapid heartbeat and her heavy breathing. She looked around frantically, and in a window, on the other side of a street, a black vest was propped against the window, with big, white, bold letters. Ibex.

Jackson I I Mentions: Glory, Dia and Aztec
Jackson was happy, he was actually back with his family and they were going to stay together. He smiled, taking Glory's hand and allowing her to take the lead. As they were looking for the hotel his happy time as suddenly ruined, by Ibex. He heard the noise and pain filled his head. It hurt so bad and he felt Glory fall against him. He managed to catch her as he fell back, hitting his head on the pavement. He only sat up when it all ended, but his first move was to grab Aztec, he wasn't going to let them take his family, not take him again either. He held the child close to him, protectively keeping the child in his grasp. As he stood he felt Dia's arms wrap around him and he breathed a sigh of relief as she did so. They needed to move, to get out of there before it was too late. He took one hand off the child in his arms to grab Glory and help her up. He was looking around frantically, eyes wide with his terror and fear.
"We need to run." He said, not that he could hear what he said. He couldn't hear anything still. He was shaking badly too, but he was powering through his regular breakdown to help his family. He just needed his family to be safe. It was hard for him to focus too, a ringing inside of his ears that didn't stop.
Dia
Dia was terrified. It was Ibex, what she had been afraid of. She held onto her father, not wanting him to be taken, or Glory, or Aztec. She just wanted her family safe and alltogether. She could barely stand, head swimming and she couldn't hear anything. She looked over to Glory, leaving her dad to go over and wrap her arms around her mother. She wasn't going to leave her mother behind, not now, not ever.

Malaki:
Mentions: Cybele, Jorah; Jackson, Glory, Aztec and Dia (In passing)
Malaki hung around the shop for a few minutes, waiting to see what the zombie was going to do, but Jorah wasn't doing anything particuarly odd; he was just looking at the different flowers, admiring the colors, and he wasn't threatening Cybele in any way. In fact, Cybele seemed perfectly fine with Jorah's appearance. Why is she not as bothered as I am about this guy? Dude looks like he's straight out of the latest zombie movie, and yet she doesn't even bat an eye at him. Do they know each other? Are they... possibly mutants, like myself? Malaki was completely isolated from others while he was trapped in Ibex, meaning he had no idea what to look for when trying to figure out if someone else was a mutant, other than the most obvious of signs. There's no way that guy could be a mutant... unless he's somehow undead... or maybe he's zombie-like somehow. Malaki remembered that he could transform into a werewolf at night, so the base understanding of reality was up for debate at this point. Mabye Cybele is also a mutant, but... no... that wouldn't make sense would it. He took another look at her and shook his head. She was too normal to be a mutant; that or she was very good at being perfectly "normal." Deciding that Jorah wasn't going to bother her, he waved goodbye to Cybele and stepped outside. He walked down the street and turned the corner only to barely miss a family of four as they quickly moved down the street, clearly scared of something. After saying sorry to them, Malaki looked around for any possible threats, but couldn't immediately find any. I wonder what they were so badly spooked about. Malaki scratched his head as he walked down the street, not finding any immdiate threats. Not satisfied with his search, he looked across the street and didn't find it at first, but soon enough he did. Proudly displayed in a window was a vest, with big white letters spelling out the place that was Malaki's living hell for years: I B E X.
Malaki froze in place as memories came flooding back, all of the expiraments, all of the testing, all of the pain and torture and insanity during those long years suddenly invaded his mind with relentless fury, forcing Malaki to lean against a wall as he tried to recompose himself as shivers went down his spine and he felt sick to his stomach. There's no way... there's no way Ibex is still around. Ibex went up in flames years ago; how is this possible?! Malaki had a million more quesitons swirling around in his head, but he knew he just had to keep moving, he would need to keep walking so he didn't attract attention... well, more attention than he would already garner with his hiking backpack. Just when it seemed that his life was about to go places, Ibex reared its ugly head only to remind Malaki of his past and what he was. He may have been lucky in the fact that the expiraments didn't change his appearance in a way that would make him freakish to the common man, but he knew deep inside that he was different than everyone else, and he secretly feared that if his secret was revealed, people would hunt him down and execute him for being a monster in their eyes. Moving with purpose, Malaki walked all the way to Mosh and slipped on his mask as he entered, wanting to spend some time there to think about what to do now that Ibex had seemingly returned.

Shadow Chaise | M: Finley, Open
Shadow tilted his head slightly as he heard, "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Shadow. My name is Finley." Finley, that was a nice name. Shadow dipped his head in respect to the man before saying, "A pleasure to meet you as well, Finley. I mean you no harm." He could feel Finley's emotions being hidden nicely but his brain was still running at adrenaline speed. He must not have met any other mutants before so Shadow would have to go slow to not startle him.

Shadow tapped his cane twice before tilting his head at Finley, his unseeing eyes now staring into Finley's. Something he had perfected over the years, being able to look people in the eye without actually seeing. He could thank Amber for that. His face saddened slightly at the thought of Amber before sliding back into friendly. He had found that people were less nervous when they could actually look into someone else's eyes. Seemed to work for blind guys like him too.

There was a little concern however for the hollowness in the man's voice. Shadow hadn't heard something like that for a while, the feeling of no emotions and yet feeling. His smile didn't waver though, as he asked, "How long have you been alone Finley? The silence can get to you sometimes."

Arlin

Mentions: Flame and Ghost Lily

Arlin was holding his daughter in his arms, using his wings to cover her sensitive skin from the sun. He decided to take his child out to get a bit of fresh air, and to learn about the lands surrounding their home. He heads back home, the smell of blood entering his nose, and he stares down at the blood trial that was left behind by some animal Flame has caught. Heading inside after spotting the dead animal outside, a chuckle leaving the man.

Entering Lily's room, placing his child down in the crib. He approaches Flame, leaning forward to give her a small peck on the lips, " Nice catch. We get to eat and lure wild animals to our home. Hmm," he wraps both arms around her, "I always wanted a pet, so thanks for that." It took a while to gain Shadow's blessing in getting Flame's hand in marriage since he was too chicken shit to ask him. To add, he was stuck on dragon island where he trained more in his abilities.

"I already know, you want me to make dinner." He left the house, grabbing the Ibex and carries it to the shack where he stores all the other animal parts such as bones, furs, certain organs, and salted meats. He places the dead Ibex down on the table, skinning the animal using a deer antler knife he carved himself. Luckily, it didn't take too much time since his wife already made the first cut, so the skinning process was easy.
