Anubis huffed as his mind began to wonder about the ball. Just thinking about it made the male's hands ball up into fists. He couldn't believe his parents were going through with this stupid ball to help find his little sister a suitor. If anything the male would be alright if he and his brothers were married off instead. He knew how males could be and he didn't need his sister to experience that by herself. Sighing the male leaned against his vanity and stared into the mirror with sad eyes. Starting at his reflection the male made his decision to keep as many males as possible. Maybe he should talk with Atticus to see if he would possibly help either distract their sister or threaten off the males. Liking that idea the male smirked with an evil smile. Chuckling the male stands and leaves his room in search of his brother to come up with a plan. |

He knew there wasnt a lot of them, and the prince waited for them to become interested in what he was saying before he would add more detail. He knew how to make them want money, and he wanted his issue solved. |

Money huh. Well thanks for the invitation. Matt steps out of the bushes, smirking at Hope. " Talk. " Matt said. He circles the man slowly and carefully checking for any weapons. A sword on his belt. " And precisely." Matt adds. " In two minutes." He said once in front of the man he assumed was royalty. A great find for Hope, But not if I can help it. |

Kai stepped away from her sparring partner, leaving him spread led on that ground, blood spraying from his nose. "Be faster next time," she growled, wiping her fist on her cloak. Beside her, Valient sat with his tail curled neatly around his front paws. The black fox hissed disdainfully at the man on the floor, his muzzle curling. "Leave him boy, got better stuff to do." Kai knew she was one of the best, if not the best, swordsmen (swords woman in her opinion) in the entire group, which was saying a lot considering how large the group had grown in the past year or so. Having been with the group since she was four, she had been able to learn quite a lot. Besides that, she seemed to have a knack for any sort of bladed object. She had once killed a man with a butter knife. Not that she wanted to think about that scenario right now. As a child, Kai had been found in the woods, lost and afraid, by the last leader of her group. Raised in an environment of brutality and blood, Kai quickly gained skills in the trade she had been forced into. Sometimes though, she remembered flashes of her life before this place. Castle walls, horse stables with huge beautiful stallions, and a boy just her age. Her brother. Twin brother. They had used to be so close. About two years ago, Kai had found him. Once he discovered rock who she was and what she did, he wanted nothing to do with her. He still loved her of course, but he wanted to stay in favor with the king. Kai strode outside, catching sigh of Matt with another man. A ma. Kai didn't know. Caligo, Kai's huge panther, stalked around the corner of the building behind her, watching the interaction. He snarled quietly. "I know buddy, Hope was here." Kai hated Hope and everything she stood for. Kai would rather be living on her own, somewhere out in the woods, just hunting and living her own best life. But Hope kept her here, said she couldn't go running off with all of the group's secrets. Bullshit. Kai thought Hope just wanted to keep her around because of her skills. Not for what she knew. If it were the secrets, Kai would probably be dead by now, just for mentioning she wanted to leave. Kai pushed these thoughts away, stepping forward towards Matt and the mystery man. She quickly took inventory of the man's weapons. A sword, but that seemed like about it. Amateur. "Why is he here Matt?" Kai inquired, Caligo slinking circles round them, his tail lashing angrily. Valient yipped his highs pitched yip, teeth bared in a furious growl. |

Atticus He took his sister words with a soft expression. He could understand her nerves, the very idea of being jammed into one of the most important events in the country, surrounded by some of the powerful people in the known world. The pressure upon her shoulders made him frown. Such a burden... Still, he would do his best to reassure her. It was the least he could do. He poked her forehead with a wry smile, a gesture he has done for year... A hidden gesture of protection and guidance. "Arion's ball was a much grander affair than Anubis or mine. He is the heir after all, Father needed to keep up appearances. Show the world who would rule in his stead... If I remember correctly, the Jesters often jabbed about how Father nearly sent our family into debt with the amount of gold he spent... Practically created gilded streets", he said thoughtfully. He didn't remember much of Anubis' ball though, Atticus was away conducting business across the Kingdoms under the order of his Father. Knowing Anubis, he wasn't much of the Ball type of person. "A Rouge Prince shall not engage in such inane frivolity!", the common folk shout to the skies. Those were lonely months, and yet so simple. It was during the time he took up a fondness for literature and arts... Yet he'd never be as skilled as his elder brothers, they simply outclassed him. Through the social hierarchy, physical prowess, or maybe even political savvy. Atticus did though have a mind, and so while his brother had blades, he had books to act as his whetstone... "To sharpen my mind", he muttered more to himself. Atticus' ball was nothing but a formality, a hint of acknowledgement of the third born and nothing more, not that he cared. Well, he cared a little... He found it disrespectful. His mental rambling ceased as he realized he was mubling to himself rather than actually thinking these things... He flushed slightly in embarrassment, before clearing his throat. "... I hear rumors in the streets Amara, the bards say this will be the largest event to grace the Known World for the next decade. Do you realize that your Ball according to our subjects, and our vastly empty pockets will be grander than the heirs?", he asked. His question seemingly holding deeper meaning and yet the message unclear to those susceptible to subtly. |

Matt looks at Kai, the only one he tolerates. "Im not sure, but he is offering money. I thought i would check it out." Matt says with a smirk on his face. Matt turns back to the man. " How much are you offering?" Matt asks him. Half now half then, that would be enough to run off from this hell. He thought to himself. " and whatis it?" He add's. Matt looks at a watch that he had stolen yesterday. "You have 2 minutes, starting... now" Matt finishes looking up at the man expectantly. |

Axel stretched in the morning sunlight, taking in a deep breath. The fresh air rushed into his lungs, filling him with a sense of freedom and peace. The balcony outside his room was adorned with several potted trees and a garland of flowers on the railing. A large velvety chair sat underneath the heavy tarp covering, keeping it safe from sun and rain. On a wooden perch just inside, Lorde gave a screeching cry, stretching his golden wings. He launched out the window, spiralling into the clear blue sky. Axel watched the goings on below him, saw the rider clothed in black riding into the forest on their black unicorn. Straight towards the forest. The forest where Axel sister and her band of thieves lay. This worried Axel for a moment, but he was distracted by the piercing neigh of his horse from the stables down the road. Whisper had always been loud, and that was him calling for his breakfast. Axel quickly threw on a pair of loose pants and a vest, heading toward the Royal stables. He was friends with the royal family, so they let him keep Whisper in their stables. Whisper liked that, mostly because of the good quality food they kept in there. When Axel stepped into the stable, his shaggy white hair falling over his forehead in a casual, uncaring fashion, he noticed the princess and one of the princes standing over by another stall. They seemed to be having a rather emotional conversation by the expression on Amara and Atticus's faces, so he just nodded to them and grabbed his gold gilded halter from the wall. Whisper stamped in his stall, the noise thundering around the stables like the booming of drums. "Alright, alright. I'm comming boy, relax." This did nothing to calm the excited horse, who let loose another earsplitting whinny. Axel winced, wishing he could cover his ears, but with a halter in one hand and a huge bag of oats in the other, that wasn't possible. He hurriedly poured the oats into the trough, finally managing to quiet the raging creature. For not the first time, Axel thought of how ironic the name Whisper was, for such a loud animal. But the horse was black as a crow and wicked fast, thus the name Whisper referring to how he could gallop almost silently when he was trying. Besides that, Axel had been nine when he received the stallion, then just a foal, and the name had seemed elegant. Once he was done eating, Whisper nuzzled into his master's shoulder, telling him he was ready for a ride. Axel brought his friend out, not bothering to saddle him. He preferred bareback riding. He leaped onto his horse, trotting past Amara and Atticus as he left. He caught a snippet of their conversation, and drew Whisper to a halt. "Not to interuppt, your Highness, but I've heard amongst some of the other nobles that your ball is the highlight of their decade, even more looked forward to than Arion's." Not true for all of them maybe, but certainly some. And true for Axel as well. |

Kai waited impatiently for the man before her and Matt to answer, bringing her sword from her sheath and twirling it in her fingers. If he was willing to pay enough, she could run away to a different kingdom, start a new life out there on her own. Without Hope and her selfish rules. Without the demand to murder, steal and hide. To emphasize Matt's point about the time, Kai swirled her fingers through the air, twisting the light to create an illusion of a ticking clock. The second hand ticked around the circle, Kai clicking her tongue in time with it. Valient twisted through Matt's legs, sniffing at the mystery man. Kai knew Valient liked Matt, trusted him in fact, and Kai trusted her pet. If Valient trusted Matt, so did Kai. |

Matt stood and waited petting Valient every once in a while. "Quickly time's running out." Matt say's Matt turns to look at Kai and her illusion, he begins clicking his tongue in time, slowly circling around the man. Woah isnt this fun. Matt thought to himself with a small smile, hidden by his bandanna. |

Arion narrowed his eyes as he watched them. "The money will be paid once the job is done. There is a ball starting tonight if you haven't heard. The king and queen are celebrating their precious daughter. I want her kidnapped" he said as be narrowed his eyes. "You ask what you want with a ransom note, you get what you want from the king and queen. Deal" he asked as he waited for a reply. |
