Hey! So I need help deciding between a few Pokemon games, and I have no experience with the games before. At the nearest Wal-Mart, there's a choice between Sword and Shield, and Let's Go Eevee. I don't know much about either so I'd appreciate the input of any fans!

Hello ^^ ive played all three of those games xD this is all just basic imput so if you'd like more detail about a specific one let me know ^^ With let's go eevee it's more of a introduction to the main series games from the mobile game Pokémon GO , so if you have played Pokémon go before let's go eevee is a great way to start ( if you're a beginner player that is ) since in my opinion it's a bit more on the beginner player scale . down side of that is that there's not a lot of story/content compared to S&S And you only have access to the first 150. on to S&S , honestly I don't think there's a big difference between the 2 other then the legendary you can get ( the one on the game box ) personally I picked sword at first since I liked the box legendary, the storyline is basically the same in both . As for the catching concept it's the normal battle to weaken the Pokémon then catch it ( so it's different than let's go) but it does have way more content and more to explore and a DLC . In these you have access to all 800+ Pokémon ^^ Edited at June 11, 2021 07:10 PM by starwolfs

So Let's Go Eevee is significantly shorter in storyline and pilot than Sword and Shield?

In a way yes , comparing it to S&S with the DLC content ( I believe there at one point you could buy the game with the download code for the DLC In one purchase ) there's stuff you can only access after you beat the game in let's go ( same goes with S&S) but as far as storyline/plot line goes it's somewhat simple and to me it didn't have that long of a plot line as S&S.( there's still stuff I'm trying to finish in those) I feel I should point out that it also is really up to you since I have heard from different people that they really enjoyed let's go and it had a great plot line but it just didn't keep that spark for me compared to the way S&S did. I do also recommend you take a look at some different reviews ( or non spoiler youtube video reviews ) for each since I do believe let's go is a good game with a somewhat good plot line but if you're adding S&S into the equation it's a bit harder to compare them. So I've heard a lot of people love it with the DLC. Is it worth the money just by itself, without additional content?

I believe it's worth it without the DLC , it does have a good amount of stuff to do since it has a open world spot so more to explore, I believe it originally came out without the DLC being known about so it did keep my attention for a good while, there's also a few different/hidden side quests so there's also those , if I remember correctly one was close to a ghost story almost. I highly recommend the DLC if you do enjoy the main game though ^^ Edited at June 13, 2021 06:24 PM by starwolfs

Aww, sadly I don't have the switch online subscription so I wouldn't be able to download additional content :( So how many Pokemon are in sword and shield? Is there more in one than the other? I didn't think so but just had to be sure.

Actually the DLC is though the eshop which doesn't require the online subscription ^^ so games can still be downloaded just the online features in those games need the subscription There's close to 400 catchable Pokémon in both but each version has a few version exclusives including the box legendary , like if your going to want to be able to catch a ponyta get shield since it's exclusive to that version unless you trade someone for it though the Pokémon home app ( that's actually free but it does have a paid version option that gives great perks ) Edited at June 15, 2021 07:33 AM by starwolfs

I didn't know if didn't require the subscription! I might have to look into it, but only if I think it's worth it :) I'm guessing you need the online sub to trade Pokemon though right?

With trading it gets a bit complicated so let me know if I need to focus on explaining one specific thing. for online trading ( like different houses ) Unfortunately yes but that's if you do it though the game itself . For local like me and my nephew we can trade just fine and nether one of us has the subscription but we are in the same house at the time. But they have a made a way around that through the Pokémon home app ( it requires the app be downloaded to your switch through the eshop { it's free for the most part just your limited on the amount of Pokémon you can trade } and a mobile phone an iPhone for example) with that app you can freely trade Pokémon with anyone without paying a penny ^^
