Nah, comparison to others is a thief and a destruction.

That's one thing I always recommend avoiding. Rather than comparing to others, comparing to where you've been is much better in the long-run.

I haven't done a background in YEARS. My drawing confidence has tanked, I compare myself to others way too much. Too many artists are just better than me, I feel like they deserve the glory more. :p

Oh I've given up attempting perfect. It's too much work. I go with what I get and don't bother too much with "perfect" or whatnot.

Funnily enough, I always try to make everything perfect, but when I make the same mistake multiple times, I just decide to make it a permanent part of the character, so now Joba canonically has one horn shorter than the other. :p

I feel that. My drawings mainly center around the lore of my characters. I've just recently started fleshing out Joba (the literal flying kitten in my avi), and this is what he looks like when he isn't pretending to be a winged cat: -Click-
