Do it. We love triangles here. And I imagine she would be terribly intimidated by Tawanga. And it might be fun for Kovanu to try and protect her from being bullied by the pride. Which leave Tawanga displeased that he is choosing another female.

It definitely would make Tawanga a bit bitter and leave a bad taste in her mouth because she is coming from a pride where the male she had grew tired of her and traded her in for a younger female.
EDIT
And it wouldn't even make Kovanu like a bad guy, he's just trying to keep Hatari safe, but it's coming off as him favoring her to the other lionesses [plus I imagine the females would find out about Hatari's feelings before he did. Because Males.] |

Its kinda exactly what I'm looking for ngl, and her and Tawanga having this awkward bitter tension would be so fun
