Nah, that was supposed to be how Cal got 'recruited'. He accidentally walked in just before an illegal deal. Weapons or drugs or something like that, I dunno.

The gang found out that Cal just kind of wanders into stuff people don't want him to, so they take him in so they can just follow the chaos to where rival gangs are hiding stuff.

Oh I thought that was Tyler just being Tyler! Cal actually did something sorta similar to what you wrote by tutoring people and a couple happy accidents, which was briefly mentioned at some point I think. I love your idea a helluva lot better though-

Okay, here's the mush my brain provided. ============================================ It's a pretty normal day, all things considered. Some clouds in the sky, a little humid, bit hot. People are out walking, going places or maybe just wandering. That's actually what it's doing right now. Wandering about looking for something useful to do. It kind of needs to get money, because the voices said that it should to help Jacob. Okay, but how was it supposed to know how to get money? That was a person thing! Whatever. It kept moving for a while, mostly directionless, until it was along the edges of the town. It stuffed it's hands into the ratty hoodie pockets, and turned to leave, until a voice stopped it. "Hey, kid, you lookin' to make a quick buck?" Was wispered out from an alley. It's head perked up, and it nodded, because yes, that was exactly what it was trying to do. A dry chuckle split the air, then the shadowy figure motioned it towards himself. "Well then, come on, kid, I got something for ya. How do you feel about fights?" It canted its head slightly. "Doesn't matter." It responds in an almost-monotone. The figure- he was male, now that it was closer and could see better, laughed again. "Perfect." He put a hand on its shoulder and guided it to an abandoned house, and down the basement steps. "Right in here, I'll get you set up." The man left it to wait for a time, and returned five minutes and fourty two seconds later. It's led to a chainlink-fenced-in area, where it can just barely hear the roar of some kind of crowd. It could totally do this. The door into the arena was opened, and it stepped into the spotlight. The arena was, quite literally, a muddy pit. the ground was churned up and a weird red-brown color that it had never seen before. "AND... BEGIN!" An announcer shouted, and it's apparent opponent lunged forwards with a scream.

Is it bad I want to keep giving Canis more small bits of backstory on Cal just to see what they think happened? :O

I try to come up with background information for characters I don't know anything about, so I have lots of headcannons. For example, Ariethous was totally a robot for a majority of his life. He mostly thought of himself as an 'it' and listened to the voices, and was pretty content with that. The voices were also much less murder-y, until he entered the underground fights, where they slowly became much more aggressive. Then the violence of the voices somehow cause It-Ariethous to blame himself for the (I think he's dead) death of Jacob, and thus associate his 'robot' mode with that failure. Then the voices just got worse until they became what they are today. So now Gwyar hates being an it, when before he didn't mind.

I wanna do the same- Not gonna lie- XD -- Because like- Kind of close with that- Only a bit off... But that's fine. We'll see how it happened eventually, through flashbacks and nightmares, no doubt.
