I personally prefer the idea of the riders not having their first rides until after the action begins, because it heightens the tension of the first ride more than it already is. Plus, it could make the Academy more vulnerable during the attack because they basically have dragon riders who cant ride, and thus they couldn't even help defend if they were able to. |
