My recommendation would be to pick one or two things that you care for more than other things, and focus on that. It's difficult to breed for too many things, especially as you are starting out.
You can also try posting in the forum to see if you can find breeding partners that also want to focus on the same things as you ^^

Some people breed howlers & wrestlers for FMC (I think it is 5th-9th each month?), but I don't think those have any use outside of that if I remember correctly

It depends entirely on what you want to breed for. Rarity is only a pelt thing, but tends to be popular for their looks. Talents means your pups will start out with more CP, which is good if you're breeding battle wolves/ explore a lot. Many people love defects too though

Either like, Oregon or Nevada could be interesting

Oregon is a pretty good distance, or Nevada because LV would be a good spot to pick up supplies, but a challenge due to the population numbers

Well, in the description it says they're 552 miles from Texas. Nevada, at closest, is about 800 miles. Oregon is much farther. I imagine for the distance to work they'll have to be in a state one or two over from Texas. So New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, or Alabama.

I think new mexico is 552 miles

I feel it should be somewhere with a different terrain than Texas to help build character along the way
