That's nice. I grew up in a family where I had to mask everything, especially things regarding the LGBTQ community since my family is VERY republican and VERY Christian. I've learned how to stop masking a lot of my autism things, but the stims and public masking just kind of stuck. I do a lot of Dino arms and spinning around when I'm happy though. Doesn't help that I have childhood trauma and an age regression disorder though, when I get super happy my brain turns into a six year old :')

You sound,, a lot like someone I'd be besties with honestly. My family is also pretty christian, but my mom is the only person I live with and we're both part of the LGBTQ community and we're both not religious. Spirtual but not religious, whatever you'd call that :P She's very highly masking but I stopped pretty early on, I got diagnosed at around 13 I think and stopped around just before I was .. 14? So it's been a while ^^"

That's awsome, I'm 18 and only just now got diagnosed. I think we would totally be besties, you seem like the type of person I'd get along with pretty well! Haha! When I was little, my mom thought I had ADD but then kinda moved away from that as I learned how to mask and cope with it better. For years she refused to believe I had anything, just last year she began to accept that I have ADHD but she wont believe I'm autistic, so I'm having to go that route pretty much on my own. And I dont have the funds for testing, but most of the time I'm scared to actually say I'm autistic without the official diagnosis because most people I've met have chewed me out for saying it.

Honestly.. If you've had more than one autistic person assume you have autism or think you do, I'd say you do. We just sense other people with autism, like a spidey sense :3 Every time I've said someone had autism they went to check it out and it turned out they had it, and I've seen that be a pretty common thing. If you said you had autism, I'd believe it :P I definitely do get not wanting to say it because you haven't been diagnosed yet because I did the exact same thing even when people kept telling me it was the most likely answer But hell yeah, besties <3

The amount of autistic and neurodivergent people who have told me I have ADHD and autism is insane. What scares me the most is that I don't feel like I'm (okay this is gonna come out rude, but I dont know how else to put it and half of it is probably because of the bullshit my mom has put into my head. And (fair warning this may become a mini tangent) dont get me wrong, my mom is amazing and I really look up to her. She's been through hell and back and since I moved to college, she's gotten alot better. But she's still very set in her ways and stubborn, which I get from her lol.) I dont feel like I'm the "typical" autistic person. And I know it's a spectrum, but still. I'm so sorry, this has turned into a therapy session-

I'm not sure there's even a typical way of having autism, honestly. Everyone I know has differences, but we can all tell who's got the 'tism :3 I'ma keep it short here and say if you wanna have a therapy session we should probably move it to PMs, since I think that'd be more comfortable for everyone ^~^ But if ya want it I'm definitely here to just be a listener

I might have to do that, haha. The only person I'm ever able to talk about with this is my best friend who was the first one to mention it

Can always come to me ^^ I'm definitely not going to judge anything, and there's no fear of anything ever being said outside the conversation because I am super into the respect peoples privacy thing. Too many times have I had or heard about people venting and getting told on or the person not respecting their privacy so there's always a safe space with me :P
