yeah. i think that i'm gonna have my character be some legendary criminal, guy who's been all around the world and stolen from some insane places and is extremely wanted, so most certainly knows his way around the country and is skilled in most forms of mortal movement. puppetmaster promises him a pardon and riches and guy is like "oh, worm?" and joins the crew. i think that the legendary weapon can probably be something that's kind of, like, mjolnir or excalibur? where only the "worthy" can wield it, so the criminal's found it before but was unable to touch it or just unwilling to try because it was unnecessarily dangerous for little reward since people can't really do much with a weapon they can't wield. also, i love the idea of the god thinking it's gonna be a sword like the olden days and it's just some crazy modern bullshit. i like to think they just refer to it as "the legendary weapon" or whatever mjolnir/excalibur-esque name it's been given, so when they come across it the god is just ???? what the hell is this while my character's picking his teeth like this discovery is the most normal thing on earth

Ooh sounds good. With it being modern how common is royalty? I was thinking about using a new character that I haven't used as a main before. She's kinda an NPC in a RP at the moment, but she's a not important princess of a powerful empire. Or I might keep looking. But I can make her not a princess and just use her personality and such That is really funny that the weapon would surprise expectations!

Great! So, to recap:
We're doing a mixed modern-medieval setting. The puppetmaster was instated by the god to gain them followers, to make the god more powerful. They were found out and both kicked out. There's a new god but the original god kept some of their power so the pantheon is after them. The god and puppetmaster want the god to complete the ritual, and the puppetmaster has promised the criminal a pardon to help them. Their first quest is to find an epic weapon, which will turn out to be more modern than expected. We can start the RP with the criminal first meeting with the god and puppetmaster.
I have a week before I'll really be free, but I will work on my god. So far all I really know is they're pretty overconfident and convinced the mortals want them back, but I'll flesh that out. If y'all want to go over your characters, bounce ideas around, whatever, let's do it! And if anyone has any more worldbuilding, feel free to throw it out there!

And if anyone has any more worldbuilding, feel free to throw it out there! hehe, that sounds like a fun, silly character concept. i love that. i think that the world like. because there's so many gods there's people who dedicate themselves to one or the other or people who just believe in the whole pantheon, but for the most part, if one falls off then most people won't really notice since the individual matters less than the concept and the concept is always kept alive with every new god. they don't notice since the gods don't express much individualism when interacting with the world, you know? so they, as a being, don't matter. which is going to be a huge slap to the face to your guy. i think my character is going to be like. a guy who just takes very serious things nonseriously and it gets to kind of insane level. because he's been doing insane shit so often that things are just normal to him, so he shrugs in the face of shit that he should be flabberghasted at. and he's also kind of a casual troll and prankster in a world where doing little silly things like that should not be an option or even remotely on his mind, but he takes everything casually, so it's not like it matters to him.

Oh, sorry Froggy, I missed your question! Yeah, more common, I think. For sure I think that's how the gods would wor, and people don't even know that much about new ones except maybe noticing slight shifts in values or tempermant. And yes, an excellent character concept! Especially good because the god (and probably the puppetmaster) will be taking this whole thing very, very seriously.

Okay, I am free! I have a general idea for my character, should be sort of finished up with them soon. I'll tweak as needed to fit y'all's characters.

That looks great! I think the thing with being overshadowed by her sisters could fit nicely into being overshadowed by the "real" ruler, since she's the Puppetmaster. Also, she'll contrast perfectly with my god, who I've decided is pretty optimistic and loves people but is also kinda dumb.

Xiomara in her current form isn't the cleverest politician or manipulator although she's well educated. She doesn't have a lot of experience and she's not as cutthroat as she thinks she is. She thinks she knows everything but she has great gaps in her knowledge so I'm not certain how she got a god to work with her. Maybe they both see the flaws in each other and thought they could manipulate each other?

Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, that's why TIAPN's character will be so good, since both of yours aren't too bright about those things. I think my character is less manipulative and more oblivious and "of course everyone loves and obeys me." Probably thought someone with more flaws would be easier to control and more respectful of them, though.
