Acantha would have chosen Kovanu because of his large size and, generally, he seems more compatible to her than Ethan. Crixus never desired the throne, so she wouldn't force it upon him, so Kovanu would have been her next option.
I would adore Ethan speaking up to Acantha. Or Crixus telling Acantha the things Ethan said. I just.. I want her to split him off from the group and remind him that making an enemy of her is making a dangerous one- xD "You may be the Second Male, and you may be the blood of Kovanu, but remember, Ethan, it is I who is Queen. Maybe that should be be the plot of this instead. Crixus and Kovanu turn out to be gay and Ethan and Acantha turn enimies to lovers: Crivanu and Etha - I have an idea for the pride rules to work in a few character's favor. Both leaders MUST be in agreement upon a decision of somewhat importance/high priority, otherwise the decision doesn't get decided, or something like that. This would make Ethan able to make drama from disrespecting the Queen, and not be exiled because I'm assuming that Kovanu would be on his side. |

Well, while that would work, Kovanu would also have to keep in mind that his position basically relies almost solely on Acantha's approval. She picked him to be King, and she could lead her lionesses against him, and, let's be honest, if Acantha asked Crixus to challenge for King, he would, and I doubt Crixus would lose that fight. That's the whole point of Acantha's character, she's dangerous and can twist almost any situation in her favour. She does what's best for her pride, but no one gets away with pissing her off kinda thing. And even if she couldn't exile him, she would demote him. She'd likely make an entire new rank for him, below everyone else, and make Crixus the Second Male or something like that. Even if she couldn't exile him, she'd do her best to make his life hell inside the pride. |

To be fair, demoting him is still a big decision, especially since Kovanu was who gave him the position. But, Ethan realistically is a good match to fight her, he's a male. He's also a not afraid of a fight, one with the Queen, maybe. Also, it would be interesting if they got into a physical fight, leading to Ethan winning. Two kings would be interesting. But the king and the Queen's mate turning gay and the second male and the Queen falling would also make for an interesting topic twist. XD |

Acantha wouldn't fall for Ethan. She's in love with Crixus, and Ethan isn't her type. If he disrespects the Queen, he's gonna get punished either way. There's no getting out of that. If he fights her, it's almost guaranteed that he's gonna get exiled. He isn't just absolutely protected from all punishments just because his brother is the King. Crixus challenging for King wouldn't mean there's "two Kings", either. It would mean either Crixus or Kovanu is King, and the other is demoted or exiled. But like Kovanu said in his post, Acantha is dangerous, and starting a "war" with her could be deadly. |
