I think there's an easy middleground here for everyone:

Make it a toggle option :D

Personally i go either way. Sometimes i like sharing that kin of stuff and sometimes it just makes extra data soup my eyes bleed over.

Yes, and it'd be nice if it were optional in Account, too, so people can turn it on and off.
