Hello everyone! Welcome to my first contest <3 - I typically make my own designs for my characters, but I've hit a stumbling block and lowkey just wanted to host an event like this so why not? In this contest, I want you lovely artists to design my character Poseidon! (Yes, based off that guy lol). He has two forms that you may choose to design! You can choose one or both! Down below are are criteria for each form and the winners! - DESIGN CRITERIA: - Where you have MOST creative liberty, there are a few things that I would like in each design! These are also some things that you can go off of! Human Form Criteria: Poseidon (my character), is described by his tall, mascular stature. He's a ferice King who has served in many a battle and has taken many a hit. Because of this, he's covered in many scars across his face, arms, chest, legs, really anywhere. He brandishes them proudly as proof of his victories. Posedion has dark, tanned skin and he has patches of blue scales that cover his body (as similar to my other OC Travis). He has dark blue (or maybe brown) horns from his head and sharp canines in his mouth. His nails are sharp like dragon claws. Poseidon also has long, scruffy brown hair and a brown beard (maybe add strands of grey? He's not old but 'aged'). Finally, the brave King has ferice and energetic blue eyes (preferably a lighter shade, but I'm open to other colors!). As for clothes, you can really have free range! Nothing modern of course! - Dragon Form: Since Poseidon is a Tricier, he can switch between two forms. A human form and a dragon form! His dragon form has a bit more strict criteria as compared to his Human form, due to my pickiness (sorry). See the sketch for anatomy regarding his dragon form (You may alter it slightly, like fins, claws, statute, etc. But I prefer to keep the 'anatomy' the same!) Anyways, Poseidon is a large Ocean Dweller (water dragon). He's usually decked out in jewerly, and of course covered in scars as well. I don't really have a specific color in mind, but I'm leaning towards blue! Just remember he is a King/Royal, so he will have glowing markings! Other than that, go for it! - Bonus Points: Bonus points! These are not required but I'm interested to see! You may add to your entry Poseidon's crown (giving you creative liberty!) or his Tridiant! (Also giving you free reign!) I'd like to see what y'all come up with! Don't worry if you can't add them though! - - - |

(Ocean Dweller 'Anatomy' Ref sheet) -  (Very rough but you get the idea lol. If you have any design questions, don't be afraid to ask! Also, you may change the scales if you want!)- - RULES: 1. No bases (Sorry, I want to see some real creativity!) 2. You may enter as many times as you want! 3. The designs must be created by you!!! No copying other works! (Only the ref above) 4. Please do your best to follow the criteria, but don't be afraid to branch out!! 5. If you comment 'Entering', please add your entry (s) to your intital post and try not to spam! It keeps me organized this way. 6. If you win any spots, the design then belongs to me to use! The art and design of course will be credited to you, don't fret! (I may also want to alter some small details!) 7. You must enter before the due date. I will not be adding any extensions because of requests! 8. All of WP Rules Apply 9. Enjoy! - - And finally... PRIZES!!!! 1st Place: 30 Apples + A flat fullbody of your character! 2nd Place: 5 Apples + 1,000 Mush 3rd Place: 1,000 Mush 4th Place: 500 mush - (I may increase the prizes as time goes by!) Draogns and humanoid? Heck yeah, my jam :D Entering! I should definitely have time to get something nice drawn up. Question on the dragon form; while following the same anatomical features / the general stocky build, can I play around a bit with the exact sihilouette? (like I'd love to add a bit more detailing / enhancement to the face with some teef and scale texture, rather than being cartoony-rounded soft, but I could also draw more soft style than a hard one) |

Of course!! You can have free range especially with style! Main focus of the sketch is to show that they're stocky, low, have short necks, and fins! The scales can change to be how you see fit!

You don't have to draw a ref sheet or a scene! It can be anything really! If you wanna do a ref sheet feel free! But it's really just to show the design so I would prefer no shading!

UPDATE - The Designs so far look great! Thanks to those who have entered already! I just wanted to update y'all - THe 1st place price has increased! First place may now win 30 Apples instead of 20! |
