Laylani The Laylani Pride has never known struggle. They have never had to try to survive. There was always enough prey, enough water, and everyone was on good terms. Even the lions and hyenas were being decent to each other. Life was all about eat, sleep, eat some more, sleep again, and hunt every now and then. That was, until things took a dark turn. - All the sudden, the prey vanished, the water dried up, tensions in the pride rose, and the hyenas have never been more hostile. No one knows what happened, or why it happened. It's in the middle of wet season, and there has been no rain in weeks. The lions of Laylani Pride are on edge, worried, and scared. They have never had to worry about survival before. But those are their instincts right? So they should be fine...right? - This RP is mostly based on the day to day life of the Laylani lions, they are trying to find out why everything is disapeering, but they are trying not to worry yet. When the RP starts, the prey and water are only just starting to vanish, but it will get worse as the rp goes on. |

RP Rules 1. Please be active. Roleplays like this are no fun if only two people are active. I expect at least 2 posts a week for each character. If you are going to be away from your device or have writer's block, please let me know, but if you don't post for a week without giving me a heads up, your character will be removed from the roleplay. 2. Hate the character, not the player. 3. This is a semi-literate roleplay, I expect at least 250+ words per post 4. This is a semi-realistic roleplay, so same gender couples are not allowed, and only male or female characters are allowed. 5. A max of 2-3 characters for now. If spots don't fill up quickly enough, you may be allowed more. 6. No Mary Sues, Gary Sues, god modding, etc. Your character isn't perfect. 7. Since this rp is more on the realistic side, i will have weight and height requirments that your character must meet. 8. I have the right to deny and application. You have 3 tries to get your application correct, after the 3rd time your character will be denied. 9. You can use stock or art images, but they must follow WP's rules, and all stock photos have to be from DA. Please credit properly. 10. Please don't roleplay with only one person. I don't want to see two characters taking up a whole page in the rp, include others. Also, if you have multiple characters, you are not allowed to have them to mates or parent-cub pairs, so that you aren't roleplaying with yourself. 11. You will have 24 hours to complete your character once you reserve it, I will give you one 12 hour extension if you ask, but after that it must be completed. 12. Applications must have at least 200 words, I will not accept one liners. |

Pride Rules 1. Only the King has rights to the Queen, she is off limits to everyone else. 2. If cubs are sired by rouge males or males outside of the pride, they will be killed and the female will be exiled from the pride. 3. All male cubs that reach 2 years of age will be exiled from the pride, and will be treated like any other rouge. 4. Pride males can have relationships with any of the pride females as they please, as long as the lioness feels the same. The Queen is only avaible to the King. (might add more eventually, so check back here) |

Pride Ranks King The King is the main ruler over the pride. All the lions answer to him. He is the leading male in the pride. The King and Queen often make pride descions together, but he will often let her handle the punishments and other matters of the lionesses, while he handles the pride males. Only he has mating rights with the Queen, and if it is found that any other lion has sired her cubs, he will be exiled if not killed, as will the cubs. This position can be challenged. Queen This is the leading female of the pride. She is in charge of the lionesses and organizing hunts and border searches. She will also make sure that the cubs have the appropriate caretakers while their parents are away. She handles most of the matters with the lionesses, but the King will step in if needed. The King and Queen have great trust in each other and often confide in each other. This position can be challenged. Pride Males The pride males are the other males of the pride besides the King. They often take part in border searches and they come along on the bigger hunts. They ensure the safety of the pride. In exchange for their services, they are provided with food, shelter, water, and the rights to the lionesses. If they do not perform their work or have cubs outside of the pride, they will be exiled or punished accordingly. They are under the King's control. Pride Lionesses The Pride lionesses are the females of the pride besides the Queen. They normally take part in the hunts, and sometimes the border searches. Their main goals in the pride are to hunt and produce cubs. The lionesses are allowed to have as many or as few cubs as they would like, as long as the male is within the pride. They are under the Queen's jurisdiction. Cubs The cubs are the young of the pride, under 2 years old. They have no responsibilities within the pride, but cubs over a year old will be expected to join on some smaller hunts and border searches, preparing them for adulthood. Non-Pride Roles Rouge Males These are males outside of the pride. They wander on the outskirts of the territory, only the bravest daring to step a paw onto pride land. If they are caught on pride land they will be forced off. On occasion they will be allowed to join the pride, but not on all occasions. Rouge Lionesses These lionesses are much like the rouge males. They wander on the outskirts of terriotory and often travel in small groups with other lionesses. They are more likely to be allowed into the pride, especially if they are in despreate need of a home. - Lion Size Range Male Lions 3.5 feet to 4.5 feet in Height 300 to 600 pounds in weight Lionesses 3 feet to 3.7 feet in height 250 to 400 pounds in weight |

Name: Nyota Star Age: 6 Gender: Female Rank: Queen Desired Rank: content Apperance: (image credits go to robbobert on DA) Nyota is an average sized lioness. She stands at about 3.5 feet tall and weights about 325 pounds. She isn't the strongest or the fastest, but she is a good huntress and performs well in fights. Her fur is a dark tan color that gets slightly darker towards her paws, ears, and down her spine. The tuft on her tail is a dark brown. Her eyes are a honey brown that turns nearly yellow when the light hits them right. Nyota isn't the bulkiest of lions, but the still packs some muscle. She would be able to deal a hard blow, and dodge the next attack. She is more lacking in her stamina, able to run like the wind, but only for a short time before she gets tired. Nyota is very young to be in the Queen position, but no lioness has yet to challenge her for the spot. She is mostly well liked among the Laylani pride, but she is still adjusting to ruling. Personality: Nyota is a more on the quiet side, but that doesn't make her any less of a good leader. She needs someone to pull her out of her shell. She is still adjusting to the weight of being leader, since her and Calisto were recently appointened after the last King and Queen's sudden deaths. Because of the stress she is undergoing, she has been more quiet and distant lately, snapping at lions when she normally wouldn't. She is very kind and intellegent, and is a great listener, which is why most lions come to her when they need someone to talk to. She is a very motherly figure, despite her young age. She loves organizing hunts and border searches, and will often join them. She loves to explore and find new things, and she loves discovering new types of plants. Nyota is extremely loyal, and once she accepts you as a friend, there is no going back. She has a great work ethic and works very hard to get what she wants. Crush: Calisto Mate: Calisto Offspring: None yet Kin: open Affiliations: Calisto- Nyota and Calisto have been friends since they were cubs. They spent all of their free time together. By the time she turned 3, she had developed feelings for him, but shortly after, the king of the pride banished Calisto. Later, Nyota left the pride, joining the nearest one, the Laylani pride. She was overjoyed to find Calisto there as well, and the two reunited, soon Calisto confessed his feelings to her, about a year later, the king and queen of the pride died, and they left Calisto and Nyota as the king and queen. Nyota hopes to have cubs with Calisto some day, when they were both ready. Name: Suraji " The Sun " Age: 4.5 Years Old Gender: Female ⁄ Feminine ⁄ Lioness × Rank: Rouge Lioness Desired Rank: Shes content and doesn't plan on joining a pride any time soon. King: She is her own Queen. As she is a Rogue, Suraji has no King to rule over her. And she likes things how they are. × Appearance: Suraji is, whilst A most certainly not a small creature, not the largest being out there. She comes in at around 3'6" feet at the shoulder, not being quite as large as some, and not as large as her mother was in her prime. Her weight comes in at around 340 pounds, still a heavy, muscular creature, but something slightly on the slimmer side for her height. Its not as if she's sickly looking or underfed, she's still a large, formidable hunteress, but she's most certainly built more for speed and flexibility over strength and brute force. - Suraji isn't what many would describe as being a bulky lioness. She is tall, having long legs and a long body. Her weight is evenly distributed throughout her physique in the form of sinewy muscle, stretching across skin and bone. Its a figure she garnered from her mother, allowing her to follow in the older lionesses paw steps and becoming a powerful hunteress. She has a slightly slimmer build than some of the other lionesses, not an overly muscular and broad chest or shoulders, and not a very large head, but she is still a lioness of great speed and flexibility, as well as power. - The lioness, even though slightly on the younger side, has had her fair share of hunting and battles across the years. These years and experiences have given her all different sizes of scaring, small marks on her lower legs and paws, as well as her tail. Suraji has two more noticeable scar marks in which she got both while hunting, or rather, attempting to hunt, an older water buffalo...alone. Yeah, as you might have guessed , that didn't end very well. She received a large gash that scared across her lower stomach, trailing up her left side. The other scar running across her left eye. - Suraji has a coat that seems to change hues depending on the lighting. Overall, she is a pretty shade of golden-bronze, often leaning mroe towards the latter coloration. Sometimes, in certain lighting, Suraji can appear her regular coat color with a few mixed in hues of tan and lighter browns, but, still, the lioness leans towards her golden-bronze coat color. Even her chest is a soft golden hue, whereas it is normally cream with others of her species. It turns to something like cream between her forelegs and on her stomach, but her chest remains untouched by the pale color. - Her eyes, too, are an odd shade. They are a bright color of what can only be described as topaz, a mixture of bronze, gold and honey tones. They are not at all like the normal yellow or olive colored eyes that other lions tend to have more often, matching her shades of darker colors. - As for her voice, it is a strong yet eerily haunting tone. It almost always an oddly calm tone, but will not hesitate to raise if provoked. She has a deep, intimidating growl and hiss when she needs to, but rarely needs to use the threatening sounds. Suraji's scent is a softer, darker kind of tint, being a rich and slightly earthy smell.
