KYANEHR VALLUX
Twenty-four years of age // Masculine // Bisexual // Original Rider

"Does being from anywhere different make someone your enemy?"

Dragon:
Yet to be determined.

Appearance:
Every part of his body tells a story. The hands, calloused from training, from roughing it with his brothers in the dirt. The skin, tanned from the sun, because where he's from? The only thing they have is the blazing sun beating down on them. Two fingers missing on his left hand from a childhood accident. A stab would scarring his toned stomach from someone who tried to finish him, and failed. Burns that wrap around the right side of his body- dragon fire. From a dragon that isn't his own. From an encounter that was never supposed to happen.

He may have an exceedingly numerous amount of scars, but his facial features remain unblemished. The gray-blue eyes set into his strong features look soft and unusual, not quite matching his "tall, strong enemy" (yes, he is 6'0", the people from his lands are very tall. He's considered rather average for them) type, causing him to look more like a curious kid. A messy, short cut of coily black hair crops itself to right above his eyes- shorter on the sides and matched by facial hair that defines his face well. Is that to call him handsome? It depends on the type of person you are. Some would almost definitely consider him their "type", others would just walk away. He doesn't really care either way.

The thing he can typically be seen in is a rider outfit- fitted to him, matching his colors in a mix of dark accentuated with the same pale blue of his eyes- the most well-rounded for him to train, to ride, to teach, among other things. It's a few layers of black, a few of stormy blue, and without all the lighter armors against everything he has to fight, he looks something like a sailor. Just an open, pale tunic. Black pants. A blue sash he uses in lieu of a belt to hold weapons, coins, other things he wants to keep on his person (feathers. He likes feathers.), and black boots. He owns a few sets of clothes, some for day to day, some for events, and some for long trips (his boyfriend has given him some. He can usually never find his coats for any of them).

Two small silver hoops adorn his right ear, one from each of his parents. They have a tradition in his lands- each family member gives an earring to someone coming of age. When he turned eighteen? He fought to go back, to see his mother. She gave him what she could. They are his treasures. As for the rest? He's got a voice that some people would die to have. Low, rumbling, velvety. Got a little bit of a drawl to it, as if you might see him sliding his eyes across the room to look at you, nod in acknowledgement, and go "hey". That "hey" that you love to hear. The man keeps a carved wooden coin on his person, just so he can use it almost exclusively for debates.

Personality:
Most of the time, Kyne couldn't care less which way is left or right, so long as he'll get there eventually. He's less of someone who needs to follow the rules (more like guidelines), all the time, and more of someone who just likes to wander. As much as he likes getting to his destination (whether it's emotional, physical, whatever), he's willing to wait as long as it takes, be patient enough to outlast whatever bad things might come in his way. He was taught a many things in his childhood, but perhaps the most important for him to learn was not to lose his temper and take it out on someone. In a fight, it's self-destructive.

That's not to say he doesn't have fun. He's a very open, sociable person, and he enjoys being around all sorts of people. The man's often in the throng of people at celebrations, mingling, listening to their stories. He refuses- absolutely refuses- to let himself get drunk enough to start anything. He only ever does so tastefully, having wine, or perhaps, small amounts of beer. Never a lot. If he sees someone he knows, he'll always go over to them first, excusing himself from strangers. Doesn't matter what kind of mood they're in, how long it's been, what type of person- as long as they'll talk to him (as almost everyone does), he'll go over first. Especially with Ana.

And when he's not chatting people up? He likes to carve. He never picked up a lot of hobbies, but carving is the one thing he's confident in. When he had nothing else, he had a knife and a block of wood.

It's very hard to upset him, but when you do, it's best to leave him alone. Kyne seems emotionally stable- as a good knight should. As a good noble should. And yet, when he gets mad... threats won't be the only thing that're thrown. He's protective over the ones he loves, and if anyone dares insult them to his face, they're gonna regret it. If they say something to upset him, make him think about things he doesn't want to- he goes out and trains. He goes out and hits the stone walls until his knuckles bleed and he can't feel his nerves anymore.

It's why he hits so hard. His hands are hard as iron.

I'm not a traitor, he'd say. They tell him he is. And it always comes as a shock.

When he's in a relationship with someone, he's not much for talking to people about it, you know? He won't hush it or stop it, he just doesn't tell everyone. He's more of an "actions speak louder than words" kinda guy. And that doesn't mean he'll go running up and kiss 'em, no. He has his moments where he forgets to be dignified and respect the other people around him, and he might end up forgetting they're not alone for a second. More often than not it's because he's the type to ask for forgiveness, not permission. A good majority of the time he might just mess with his one and only under his breath, right in the midst of a crowd.

Kyne's decidedly exclusive when it comes to relationships. He trusts that who he's with isn't going to leave him, but at the same point, he knows people, and has a sense for the way they interact. If someone seems like they're going to get in between him and his other half? Forget it. Go away. The six-foot stack of meat and muscle is here to protect what's his.

Strengths:
Military Tactics
|| He is very well-versed in strategy, war, combat, and things needed for battle with- and against- dragons (mostly against). People might not come to him for everything, and he most definitely isn't the best to go to for a majority of things, but he knows battle better than he knows himself.

Patience || Kyne learned from a young age to contain his temper. "You cannot let your emotions corrupt your judgement." People can say a great many things to him. They can insult him or the ones he loves- he'll just step in front of them and tell you to shove off, but he can refrain from doing anything he'll regret. He has to.

Charisma || One of the things he's the best at doing is talking to people. Even in a worst-case scenario where someone hates him? He can still manage to incite a conversation should he have any desire to do so. Something about the way he is, the calm sense of patience he has, makes him approachable.

Weaknesses:
Dissention || There are things he has to do to stay in Ederia's good graces. There are things he doesn't always do to keep the freedom he has. If it came down to it, he doesn't- he wouldn't- follow all the guidelines they're supposed to. He prefers to make his own path, you know? Being in his postition, he's gotten in a lot of trouble for it.

Mistrust || People are... complex. His encounters with people are even more so. Many of the things they've done- that he's done- makes it hard for him to fully trust. Sure, he likes people, likes talking to people. And yet, none of them know who he is. His face is memorable, sure. He is not- no one knows anything about him unless he chooses for them to. And those people are very, very few.

Explosive || When upset, he takes it out on the things around him, on himself. He does not seek better ways to deal with things because he never had any (he's still adjusting to having a boyfriend. He'll probably never be used to it). And he doesn't stop. He almost loses the ability to take care of himself, even if he keeps up appearances. He would most likely start to fight with the ones he cares about (even his dragon). It's not a pretty sight.

Crush:
His darling~

Significant Other:
Maybe~

Kin:
Raither Vallux || Father || A... complicated relationship.

Hasera Vallux || Mother || He misses her.

He has siblings, but he does not know where they are, what they are doing, if they want to talk to him, and if they are still alive. There are four of them. Phoren, Finch, Savira, and Qayna. Oldest to youngest, with him the youngest of the three brothers.

Affiliations:
He is affiliated with whoever was on... the other side of the war. Or, at the very least, a neighboring, opposing country. His parents fought against Ederia- and are well known enough that quite a few on either side would know at the very least, his surname. Yet even though he fought for Ederia many called, and still call him, a traitor. Many (himself included) were surprised when he bonded to a dragon.

Other:
In old English, Kyne means cows. Fun xD

How about a show? I'm such a kid at heart. I love the Dragon Prince-

Ebanon;
Sorry it took so long to answer you.
It's entirely up to you. As it stands right now, if you make an Original Rider I'll have to add one more spot to Original Dragons and Riders so you and Wayne Aren't paired up twice.

We need at least 1 more Rookie dragon. Though I would like to get all rookie spots filled, so you're welcome to snag one.

I plan on snagging a dragon rookie slot myself since I removed my other rookie dragon.

Name:
Senovara
Age:

137 Years
Gender:

Female
Role:

Rookie Dragon
Class:

Blood Type;
Known as a Vampiric Dragon or Sanguine Dragon
Vampiric Dragons were long thought to have been extinct, as one hasn't been seen in centuries. Due to their nature and the bad rap they get surrounding their abilities, they were a type of dragon often rejected by not just humans, but from within their own dragon communities as well. This caused them to become reclusive until they just faded away from reality basically.
Rider:

Open
Appearance:

Credit Belongs to Jaxi-TheDragonBorn on Picrew.

Senovara's appearance is of a... humbling nature, being not quite the most beautiful of dragons, but also not the most unnerving of them either, but instead a mix of both. There is something instinctually off putting about the dragonelle that's hard to pin down to one specific thing, but instead it's the sum of the parts that cause her whole to cause such reaction.

With a more wirey build, Seno stands at just below 15 feet tall, making her on the slightly shorter side in comparison to other dragons, it certainly makes her shorter than her mate. Senovara holds a rather thin build designed for grace and maneuverability, her legs are long and lean, with a nimble body of gracefully long proportions. Her long neck appears almost delicate in its curvature as it arcs away from her body, carrying a slender and narrow head atop it. It would be easy to mistake the female as weak with her thinner build, but beneath the surface of glossy scales reside taut layers of wirey muscle. She isn't built as a power house, but she's certainly not a push over either.

At the end of each long legs are feet with five digits, two of these stand out amongst the rest, because on either side of her feet the last digit beholds a long, sharp claw of almost exaggerated proportions, as well as a back facing claw with a thick, hook like claw. Between the two longer claws are more normal looking toes and claws, proving that there reason behind her foot's design is rather specific in that it allows her to traverse in almost unnatural ways. Basically? I she wanted to, she could crawl across a cieling by holding herself there with these three digits.

Along with long legs and neck, Senovara also sports quite the long tail. It's easily the length of her entire body, and extends past it by a couple of feet as well. Her tail is thicker near the bast, but narrows as it ends, coming to a sharp point. Upon her tail are a set of long spines near the base, that are easily about two feet in length, and are there as defense. Whereas near the end of her tail there is a set of blades that are sharp, and even serrated on one side. She's able to use these offensively by swing her tail at adversaries. When someone is hit with her tail, the sharp blades easily penetrate, and the serrations saw to create more damage as either she moves her tail or her opponent moves to free themselves.

Traveling along the length of her spine, similar to the ones on the base of her tail, are long spines. They are close together, each spine about a foot or two away from the other and run from the base of her skull to the set on her tail. Then on the sides of her neck there are a set of three blade like spikes, and a pair of spike just behind where her wing connects to her body. This is to protect herself from anyone who might attempt to attack her wing there.

Upon her head is a set of elegant horns that arc away from her head and curve inwards at the tip. They are as dark and as beautiful as obsidian, and at the base of each horn, a second horn is beginning to form, and will grow to be almost like a brown horn once she's older [see the second picture when it's uploaded].

Attached to her shoulders are a set of large wings, sheer membranes stretched between bone tines to give her lift and allow her to fly. The wings are like giant bat wings; curved and elegant, magnificent in every way. There's something a little off about them, though, and it's the act that the bones of her wings stransorm into long, sharp spines at the end, that extend several feet past her wings. She can flex these and wriggle them, but she cannot control them otherwise. At the join of her wings, though, are long, curved claws that, combined with the spines at the tips, help defend her wings, and herself, from attack.

In terms of coloration, Senovara is a beautiful canvas of reds, black, and oranges. Her base color is obviously a deep, dark blood red, with highlights of sunset and markings of black. Her underbelly is comprised of entirely black scales, and upon the red scales of her base are striking black tiger like stripes. Within the contours of her face, are a pair of a eyes a shade of red brighter than the rest of her being.

Personality:

Anything in Italics still applies in the broad/general sense, but was written back when she was in an older Rp and had a mate.

At first meeting, Senovara might seem like a rather complex character, however... she is not. She's simply just not that friendly. The female has enjoyed just her own company and that of her mate's for a while, preferring to avoid any sort of socializing. She's more than happy for Dea to go and socialize should she feel the desire to, but Seno is more than likely going to hang out where she is most comfortable: in the dark by herself.

Senovara is comfortable with her solitude though, never one to complain or whine about not being surrounded by friends and family. Growing up primarily alone, she learned to value the quiet desolation she surrounded herself with. Because of this, the Blood Dragoness is rather wary of others, and the more they encroach on her personal space, the more grumpy and hissy she will get as a result. She has a calmer and more rational head upon her shoulders than some [I'm looking at you dearest Deaencta], but that doesn't mean she doesn't occasionally have explosive reactions to things. Like any dragons, she will become an unpredictable beast when pushed too much.

Judgemental and impassive, Seno's primary state of being seems to be sheer indifference. She isn't impressed by much, and she's extremely critical of those who don't carry her favor. Despite her impervious nature, Senovara oddly enough lacks some confidence, especially in social situations. These are the times she relies of a solid assuredy of her mate, relishing her the almost arrogance the other female surrounds herself in. Like a vampire, she feeds off the confidence of her closest companion, and knowing she has her to rely on, gives her more confidence than if she were alone. Plus, while Seno isn't above fighting her own battles, she will happily let Dea go to battle for her over the slightest wrongdoing aimed towards the Blood Dragon.

Intelligence is something that Senovara values, not only in herself, but others. Having a rather calculative mind, one that is always running through various situations, she enjoys being in the company of others who, to put it simply, aren't stupid. She has little patience and tolerance for stupidity, and nothing will turn her sour faster and lose any chance of her approval than stupidity.

Being a rather Guarded being, it's hard to decipher exactly who Senovara is. The dragon she displays herself might be some form of iteration of herself, but it's by no means exactly who she is. Likely the only one who would ever see her true self woudl be a mate if she ever has one. With them Senovara's guarded distance and prickly exterior would melt away and she'd allow herself to relish in the comfort and solidity of the other dragon. With them, Seno would be nothing more than a purring kitten, and would genuinely enjoy their presence.

Abilities:

¤ Corrupted Blood: Perhaps one of her main abilities, albeit a passive ones she tends to turn offensively. The dragon's blood causes corruption whenever it gets into anyone's system whether via consumption or wounds, etc. This means those who are infected essentially slowly start to go crazy while in their system. Their will weakens, their mind begins to shatter, making them vulnerable, out of it, and somewhat defenseless. This is a temporary affect, and cannot kill, but it does weaken their mind, and the more of her blood they have in their system, the easier they are to control [see Blood Marionette].

¤ Blood Empowerment: True to her more Vampiric nature, Senovara gets a boost whenever she consumes the blood of another. This means an increase in strength, speed, durability, energy, etc. However, since she doesn't have a regular diet of blood, she crashes really hard afterwards. She cant drink the blood of the deceased, and also her drinking someone's blood doesn't have to kill them.

¤ Blood Marionette: Quite possibly one of her more eery abilities, Senovara's Blood Marionette is one of the things that causes others to be quite wary of her. Able to control the blood of others, she can essentially control them. This is easiest to do on smaller creatures, due to having less blood. It can be done on larger creatures, but typically her own blood would have to be in their system too for her to even have a chance at doing it to them.

¤ Blood Explosion: An ability that sounds worse than it is, this is one of her primary offensive abilities to use. By focusing on an opponent, she can cause the blood vessels in their body [typically a limb or sometihng] to explode, causing blood to hemorrhage out of their orifices. This won't kill an opponent, but it is quite painful and uncomfortable to experience.

¤ Blood Armor: One of her only defensive abilities, when Senovara is wounded, she can use her blood to seal a wound and create a layer of armor over the wounded spot so that it isn't as vulnerable. This is usually used for larger or major wounds, but it requires concentration to form the armor at first, and she obviously has a limited quantity of blood to use. Plus, it doesn't stop pain or weakness where she's wounded.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Strengths
⊕ Senovara has a very high pain tolerance, she isn't immune to pain or anything, but she has a high tolerance for it.
⊕ Seno has great mobility and maneuverability, able to climb on cielings, etc. and being quite lean means she quite quick.
⊕ She's also a relatively quick flyer, and has great maneuverability in the sky as well.
⊕ Seno is a rather scrappy female, able to physically put up a fight and doesn't always have to rely on her powers in a fight.

Weaknesses

⊗ She has a Limited Quantity of Blood, if she runs out, she's not only unable to use her abilities, she's dead. She can't just magically generate an endless supply of her own blood.
⊗ Truthfully, Seno doesn't like bright light, preferring dark and damp places. She's a bit sensitive to the light.
⊗ Due to not sustaining a constant diet of blood, she crashes really badly after she consumes any.
⊗ Senovara isn't the tallest or biggest dragon, built more for speed, agility, and maneuverability. She's still strong, but not built to be a powerhouse of strength.

Name - Thyella

Age - 127 years old

Gender - Female / Feminine

Role - Rookie

Class - Air

Rider - OPEN

Appearance: - Thyella is a mix of intimidation and beauty in terms of appearances.

Head is a skull with thin wisps of smoke curling around her head. Her eyes are bright white glowing orbs that can faintly glow in the dark, rumored to be made of wind but never exactly proven or tested. From the skull comes two ivory horns that curve down and forward towards her head, before leveling flat so the tip is parallel to her jaw. Long slender snout. It’s rumored she is a wind spirit who possessed the body of a dragon (not true) or she simply uses the wind around her to help her feel sensations after bad damage to her face in a fight (true). Terrible eyesight, she relies on breezes to help relay sensations of smell and hearing better. While the white orbs she calls eyes help her see better, the stronger the breeze is, the more sensations they can deliver and therefore strengthen this function. Basically, she can piece together her surroundings in her brain (like paint a picture) based on sounds, touch, smell, and even taste to make up for her poor eyesight. In terms of her body, Thyella is a surprisingly bulky dragon. With powerful muscle along her torso and legs she is surely a dragon who can hold their own in a brawl. While her bulk does hinder some of her agility, she can still pack quite the punch and stinging bite with her ruthless and savage way of fighting. Her scales are a pale grey color with a sudden splash of white on her shoulders and along her upper back where her wings are, making it seem as if someone threw a paint bucket at the air dragon. Her wings, on the contrary, are feathered. Four white wings protrude from her back. The first pair are rather large, but a bit smaller than they should be for a dragon of her age and height and are white in color since they protrude a bit behind her shoulder blades. The second pair are half the size of the first, and sit slightly further back though are still the same white color. They sit overlapping a bit of her first pair of wings, and as such are slightly lower down her side. Thyella has paws instead of the usual reptilian feet other dragons have. Indeed. large tiger-like paws can be found equipped with sharp claws and even a back toe. Though she cannot retract them like a normal cat could. Her ears sit in the crevice of the curve of her horns and sit in a horizontal fashion, pointing back towards her wings rather than out away from her head. Her horns are the color of ivory. With the nature of this being, her scales are softer than most other dragons’. They feel like velvet to the touch and are quite flexible, albeit still durable and hard to break or pierce. This is mostly to help Thyella direct wind currents when she flies so she faces less overall wind resistance and can turn easier. A white mane made of mist and vapor sits around her neck like a lion's mane, though lacks substance. While appearing quite grabable, a person’s hand would just simply slip through instead, leaving their hand with a slight coat of water from the vapor.

Personality:

Quiet, but also super sassy

She will let you know if she doesn’t agree, don’t worry

Mostly obedient, however snarky she may be - She’ll sass you and say something that doesn’t seem like she’s going to cooperate, then do whatever it was in the end anyways

Morally grey, leaning towards chaotic

Itching for battle

Brave as fuck

Inquisitive, if she has a question you better bet she’ll question the fuck outta you until she understands it to a satisfying degree

“You better bet I’m on my way to kill a bitch-”

Abilities:

  • Chorus of the Wind
    • The stronger the winds, the louder it also gets, almost to deafening levels but never enough to make someone go deaf or lose their hearing. Bad thing is she is not immune to these sound levels herself, so if she's not careful it can get bad quick
  • Hurricane
  • The Breeze's Whisper
    • Can hear distant voices from the wind! Small sprites help to relay messages to her. The bad thing is the sprites can only function in natural winds, nothing she makes herself or are man-made and cannot send any messages or pick up sensations where there is no wind or a gust of air

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Gender:
Male
Role:
Rookie
Class:
Earth
Rider:
Open
Appearance:
[Credit belongs to Tenebris Umbra. Made only for my usage, no one else has permission to use this.]

Aaranay stands tall at 17 feet, his imposing figure exuding an aura of strength and grace. His body is lean and muscular, hinting at his immense power, yet he moves with a fluidity that belies his size. Aaranay’s scales are a rich, mossy green, with intricate patterns of lighter green specks scattered across his hide, reminiscent of dappled sunlight filtering through a dense forest canopy.

Beneath his formidable exterior lies a soft, brown underbelly, a contrast to the green earthy hues of its scales. The length of his tail is adorned with a lush covering of green fur, but takes on the appearance of moss. Large wings unfurl from his back, their outer surfaces a verdant green while the membranes between the bones are a lighter sage green, reminiscent of fresh leaves in springtime. Vines cascade over the top of the wings, intertwining with the dragon's scales.

A patch of moss adorns the dragon's back, serving as a sanctuary for white flowers that bloom amidst the verdant greenery. Completing his majestic appearance, each of the dragon's four claws is adorned with red and white flowers. The Earth Dragon's eyes are a soft pale green, like pools of cool spring water.

Two sets of antlers crown Aaranay’s head, one resembling the graceful curves of deer antlers while the other set curves like the horns of a Mouflon sheep. Within the deer-like antlers, verdant greenery thrives, further accentuated by the delicate beauty of white flowers that blossom among the foliage. Dark brown spikes protrude from his neck and cascade down his back, stopping just short of his tail. Each spike is rugged and angular, reminiscent of the jagged peaks of a mountain range, and they curve slightly outward.

Name:
Caelestis

Roman origin, meaning "Heavenly, of the sky"

Age:

200 Years

Gender:

Male

Class:

Air

Rider:

Open

Appearance:

The build of Caelestis is one that is striking in the grace that is portrayed, a mere wraith in comparison to the majestic power of other dragons. Standing at a rather modest height of 13 feet from ground to narrow shoulder, he is not a creature that finds himself as the tallest within a social setting, and it is a common fact that many other creatures stand taller than he, although the coil of a serpentine neck composes an additional four feet, bringing him up to a total of 17 feet in height. The overall length of him is quite long, measuring to be 26 feet in length with half of the length being composed by his body while the other half is occupied by his tail.

The blueprint that this dragon's construction follows is one revolving around a lifestyle that primarily requires speed with physical strength a vague afterthought, having a rather slender build that only makes him seem longer and more fragile than he would otherwise appear to be, he displays an elegance as opposed to a picture of intimidation. Yet there is strength harbored within his figure, a rather athletically lean type of muscle that is more apparent when observing the area of his powerful wings and deep chest. The head of Caelestis is shaped like a triangle with the length of his muzzle and jaws narrowing into a thinner point than what might be seen on other such creatures, the interior of his maw being decorated with a neat line of sharply serrated teeth that come to a keenly pointed edge and are designed for piercing the flesh of prey or opponent with ease.

The coloration that is found within his scales and in the durable membrane of his wings is not one to be expected from a dragon of his class, for it is the color of the deepest hours of the night when the moon has disappeared from the sky. Born with the mutation of melanism, Caelestis is blessed with an inky blackness that is the shade of the darkest abysses of the earth that easily conceals him when the night falls and the shadows stretch longer, the expanse of darkness unbroken by flashy colors or eyecatching markings lends a rather eerie sight to this creature, as if he is a wraith of a shadow that had dared stray into the world of light. The scales of this dragon are more flexible than what might commonly protect other like creatures, they hold a particular suppleness that serves to allow the range of motion needed for a creature like he, though they maintain a durability that is ample enough to provide the basic protection against some blows and many projectiles, they are not remotely near to the strongest armor that can be found.

Fur sprouts from the thin scale of his spine and covers the entirety of his back with dense fur that holds the same absence of lighter coloration that his scales contain. As thickly packed as a field of wheat and surprisingly soft to the touch, a rather silky texture that makes the dark strands feel cold with how smooth it is, the pelt of this creature only contributes to the impression that he makes. While the endings of the strands are nearly as immaterial as a whisper on the wind and the main body is silken in texture and surprisingly thick, the components of the fur beneath the surface becomes less soft and more fleecy like the coat of a

-Fur on neck and body (maybe spine to tail, like Chinese dragon?)

The wings of this dragon are bat-like in their construction and when fully extended they measure an impressive length of 32 feet, and they are the wings that are most often glimpsed while he is in motion. For a secondary pair of wings can unfurl from the lean sides from where they typically remain curled tightly to his side so that they are nearly indistinguishable from his figure, the composition of which are identical to the primary set and bear a shorter length with a complete span of 17 feet. The purpose of the secondary set is to lend a finer element of control to Caelestis' flight and thereby giving him additional agility that allows him to preform rather difficult aerial maneuvers.

The presence of spikes or horns upon this creature are quite scarce, the highest concentration of horns are located upon the head and even those are modestly shaped. The two largest horns are placed on either side of the skull, decently long and sweeping back from the head as if sculpted by the strong winds that Caelestis traverses with a slight downwards curve at the ending; the second pair of horns is placed lower than the first, rather in line with his eyes with the gently curving arc of the horns taking an upward angle opposed to the downwards shape of the first ones; two more smaller pairs, one located just beneath the second horns and the other pair placed on the jawbone, are much shorter and end in a thicker, blunter edge than the finer points of the first and secondary horns. The gleaming talons that sprout from each paw are the color of obsidian and twice are sharp, gently curved and of a decent length, they are formidable weapons to be utilized in battle.

Placed within the throat of this dragon are located two vocal chords, which are responsible for the rather diverse selection of vocalizations which issue from him: the lowest tone being a kind of crackling rumbling, surprisingly gutteral, with a thread of a strange thrumming woven into the chords; the mid-tone carrying the distinctive whoosh of powerful winds tearing through the sky with the suggestion of something deeper that lends depth; and the highest tones are utterly alien in their sound and clearer than the toll of a bell, holding an eerie, slightly wavering quality that sounds rather like a purposeful modulation if one pays attention. He is capable of combining vocalization tones to create new sounds, and altering those existing noises so that they seem different from the bases that are presented to him. This includes layering the sounds on top of each other to amplify the vocalizations beyond that where lung-power can produce, often creating the impression that multiple voices are calling instead of one.

-Roars-

Friendly call:

Gentle and peaceful, a soft whistling sound like an amplified whisper of a breeze through a field, the rumbling undertone softened to a quietly underlying hum. Rather simplistic.

Broadcast call

Carrying and resonant, the howl of storm winds tearing through the sky in the manner of a wolf's cry, a deeper scratching rumble tone threaded layered beneath the middle tones, ending in a slightly higher pitch as if the winds grew in intensity for those ending moments.

Aggressive/Threatening roar:

Forceful and loud, the thunderous roaring of winds produced by a hurricane seemingly layered and amplified into a proper roar, the unsettling, thrumming undercurrent stronger and much more apparent, the suggestions of a deeper rumbling at the very beginning and ending of the roar.

Intimidation/Warning call

A sound so high-pitched it sounds nearly airy, a ghostly wailing shriek that holds a stark clearness that nearly hurts the ears, fading from the highest notes to a pitch not unlike the whistling rush of wind on the mountains.

Victory:

Triumphant and proud, a sound that begins with the sudden whooshing of an unexpected gust of air and layered with the slightly lower tones of rippling whistling and a humming trill buried further beneath, the call subtly undulanting in a beautifully victorious manner; before becoming clear and sharpening and swelling into high-pitched cry that hurts the ears, the background of sounds dropping away as the call crests into the utterly alien sounds of the highest pitches.

Name:

Salix

The genus of a weeping willow

Age:

193 Years

Gender:

Female

Role:

Original

Class:

Earth

Rider:

Kyanehr Vallix

Appearance:

A sleek and graceful build blesses this dragoness, a form designed for a life between the trees and canopies of forests. Her body is relatively small for such a regal beast, being dwarfed by most members of her kind. A height of twelve feet graces her body, not even brushing the halfway mark of the trees of her region. From ground to shoulder she is about nine feet tall, a size within the threshold of asian elephants. Her neck is only a third of this measurement, being no more than three feet. Despite its more “stout” size, her neck is incredibly flexible – able to bend as though it were the body of a serpent. The length of her body is around twice that of her height, and is more of a “standard” measurement than her overall height. A ten foot body makes up her general build, leaving room for only the most necessary of additions. A fourteen foot tail follows her general body, a powerhouse of an appendage in its own regard and not something most would wish to be faced with. But do not be fooled by her smaller build. She is not a being most would dare to bother for one reason or another.

Mimicry is the name of the game in the life of Salix, a sector of survival that few aim to triumph over. She lives to go undetected – in plane view but near impossible to detect with untrained eyes, whether still or moving about. Her light and agile frame perfectly aligns with this vision, granting her the ability to weave between foliage without a stumble or stagger. Even in the air, her elegant build allows for stunning maneuvers that most would only dare dream to enact while flying through dense foliage. A broad chest allows for the necessary flight muscles to be present for such motions, while also being slim enough to slip through tight spaces with ease. Flexible joints add to her stealthy ways, presenting the possibility to bend in ways many of her kind cannot. Twisting herself around trees is a common usage of this skill, winding around its bark like a snake coiling around a mere branch. Her prehensile tail allows for even more grip, being able to clutch onto anything with a great amount of power. Once latched on, it is difficult for this tail to be removed from whatever it has grasped. Though not particularly physically strong herself, it is not uncommon to hear tales of those being caught in its hold to come out with broken bones. A fan of feathers sprouts from the tail’s tip, their shaping being that of a weeping willow’s leaves. They often drag across the ground slightly, leading to dirty edges that she often has to clean. The existence of these feathers have baffled researchers for centuries, but that tale is best saved for another time. Four legs sprout from her body, all being utilized in the act of walking. Each end in paws akin to those of a monitor lizard, with the main difference being their thickness in comparison to her overall size. Unlike the lizard they take over, the fingers of these paws are not as thin and spindly – having the make up to cling to trees with ease without the need to be as awkwardly long. Elongated claws sprout from their tips, designed to grip to tree bark for extended periods. No spines are present to allow for a more streamlined structure. Scales of varying texture line her body, befitting more to a creature of the sea than one of the land. The scales along the upper portion of her body are typically smooth to the touch, with some small bumps here and there that seem similar to the divots in the bark of a tree. What makes them so unique is their ability to change texture completely – shifting to take on the exact texture and hardness of a weeping willow’s bark. Grooves and all. This can either be done at will or instinctually, depending on the situation. This hardening of her scales decreases her mobility drastically, with only the most minute of alterations being possible via slow and methodical movement. Though, there really isn’t a need for such swift motion. Thanks to her flexibility, it is as if she were a section of the tree itself – her scales perfectly meshing with the bark of the plantation she takes after so much. The scales of her underbelly, on the other hand, are not as adaptable. Their texture is nearly consistent, being coated in weak and large “plates.” These plates are designed to reset against the rough bark of a tree without taking any sort of scrape the bark my cause. Only the tiniest of changes occur in these plates when her scales harden, simply to ensure she remains as discreet as possible. The development of “grooves” is present here just as it is elsewhere, but to a lesser degree.

The streamline appearance of her body continues up to the neck, with a narrow head and snout that can only be described as “draconic.” It is unlike that of most known reptiles, being a bit too vertically lengthy to fit any one “profile.” Its edges are more rounded in shape with some ruggedness here and there about the area, granting her the ability to slice through the air with relative ease. No “nose” horn, per say, is present on the female. At least, not one that others would expect. Instead of the common “tip of the nose” horn, hers is more towards the center of her snout – almost like the second horn of a black rhinoceros. Albeit, much skinner and a tad shorter at around twelve inches in length. Though sharp nonetheless, being able to easily slice through any vegetation that fits itself in her path. Its path is not entirely straight as well, having a small bend towards the middle where it goes out before coming in again. Elk-like antlers sprout from the back of her head, having five sharp and cutting points on each one. These horns reach a length of around six feet in total and have the ability to cut through vegetation just as her snout horn does. Feathers dawn these majestic extensions, mimicking the leaves of a weeping willow much like their counterparts along her tail fan. However, unlike those, these do not seem to possess the same capabilities as the other ones. Her eyes are of a solid hue, lacking both in pupils and sclera. Their shape is more reptilian in appearance, but with some more majestic qualities that some consider to be captivating.

The wings of this gentle being are unlike any other – mysterious in its ways yet effective all the same. There are two in total, spanning a full length of twenty eight feet. However, only a little more than half of this length is necessary for her to fly properly. She can and will fly with the wings partially folded – have them outstretched just enough to hold herself up. This grants her the capability to fly straight through the branches of trees without the fear of damaging her wings. Flying via this method is much more akin to gliding than it is true flight and does require a “proper” start with a decent amount of velocity, but it is distinct enough to not be considered as such. Two clawed hooks protrude from the curve of her wings, long and sharp the rest of her claws and horns. With these, she can actually hang from the limbs of trees so long as they can support her weight. However, this also adds to her mimicry scheme if positioned correctly. The feathers from her tail and horns extend their reach to this area as well, coating the area in the hanging leaves of a weeping willow. Now, one may wonder how exactly she has been blessed with the skill of flight with such oddly shaped feathers. Surely, such a utility would be blocked from her due to the oddity that is her feathers… right? This is in fact not the case. Salix has the unique capability to change the shape of her feathers – both along her wings and tail – shifting them from the willow-like “leaves” to proper feathers at will. Her “normal” feathers are shaped similar to those of song birds, such as the willow flycatcher. Underneath these feathers, one will find the other unusual aspect of her wings. Rather than the standard wing fingers of a bat or the lack-there-of of a bird, the present “fingers” mimics the shape and structure of tree branches. Their texture of their scales aligns with the rest of those along her body, shifting from smooth to bark. Her tail also has these branch-like structures underneath her feathers.

The colors of this female are like what any being would expect for the most part: exactly like those of a weeping willow. A gray makes up the majority of the present scales, oddly majestic in shade. Lines of darker gray weave between the lighter hue with no concise patterning – outlining the eventual grooves that appear whenever her scales harden. The scales of her underbelly are the same as her upper ones – that being the lighter shade of gray – but contain a bit more brownish elements along the “grooves,” usually seen when the bark of an actual tree is peeling away. Such markings are not as prevalent in her upper half, but do exist. The “groove” markings are few and far in between here and are much skinnier than those of her upper half. All present grays have the tiniest of blue tints to them. Soft touches of green scatter themselves out along her scales, both top and bottom. These areas seem to simulate moss, as though it were growing on tree’s trunk. Some gray elements are seen within these small patches to give way to the “bark” underneath. These colors remain constant whenever he scales harden. Oddly enough, her scales can mimic the texture of this moss as well, though not as well as it can the “bark.” Breaking from this mold of mimicry, there are some more fantastical elements to this graceful beauty. Though, they are not always present. A golden glow can sometimes be seen permeating from the dark gray “grooves” this female possesses. Though, not all of them have this capability. This glow does appear to have more of a pattern than the dark gray marks themselves, becoming “twirls” by the end of their trip. This glow can appear at will, but it all sprouts up when one of her abilities is utilized. Her eyes are of the exact same color and can glow as well, but only when an ability is used. Their color can also be snuffed out to appear as the same gray as the rest of her body when need be. The snout-horn and antlers are of a slightly darker gray than those of the grooves and hide, while her claws (on both paws and wings) are an off-black color. All of these still managed to blend into the trees she considers her home rather well.

The colors of this female’s feathers are just as head scratching as their abilities. Their hues change depending on the season, taking after those of a weeping willow. In summer, they are a lush and lively green – befitting of the season. Their shade is lighter than one would be expecting, but they match those of a willow perfectly. In autumn, a pleasantly warm yellow overtakes this lively green hue. It is often compared to the sun itself due to its general brightness, if not gold. In winter, her wings take a fascinating shift in functionality. Like all deciduous trees, Salix loses her “leaves” during the winter – leaving (or, rather leafing) behind nothing but the aforementioned “branches” her wing fingers and tail form. Her antlers all lose their feathery addictions. These branches, naturally, take up the same coloration as the rest of her scales – being a gray with darker “grooves,” both with the bluish tint. A golden glow can also be found here, but it does not remain symmetrical between the two wings. Come spring (or, rather, late winter) the feathers will physically bud and grow out just as a willow’s leaves would. Their hue is a yellowish green which will slowly fade into a simple bright green shade. During this season, some of the feathers may even mimic the catkins – otherwise known as flowers – of a weeping willow. The underside of all feathers, whenever present, carry a milky tint.

The calls of this tree of a dragon as a relative mix of “standard” and “unique.” Like usual, she has five main calls: Broadcast, friendly, warning, danger, and victory. A “threaten” call is not necessarily present. Rather, she takes to warning intruders not to take another step then to outright threaten. All of her sounds are relatively difficult to decipher from the world’s natural ambiance, but so have a few key signs that could give her away. Her broadcast is, simply put, the call of the wild. It is a conglomeration of natural ambiance that can easily be mistaken for the forest itself. The most telling sign is the consistent song of a willow flycatcher, which can be out of place in some instances. Her friendly call is that of a straw-headed bulbul mixed with the soft rustling of leaves. If one wishes to see if it is her, they should listen to its pitch – which is slightly deeper than it should be for such an avian. The warning call is quite the anxiety inducing one. It consists of the crackling sound of a falling tree with the quiet backdrop of a growling leopard. It is rather discreet and confusing after one realizes that their surroundings haven't changed. If angry enough, this call can have the power to shake the surrounding area. Her danger cry is similar to the chirps of a crested treeswift with the harsh rustling of leaves. This can be a dead give away if no strong winds are present. Finally, her victory roar is akin to that of a tiger’s – powerful and heart gripping – with the smallest hint of a crying peafowl bolstering it up.

Salix’s voice is a relatively unmistakable one. It leans on the lower side of the female pitch “spectrum,” though not completely there. Feminine qualities are very prevalent here, with her words being well refined and usually cordial. However, it remains pretty expressive – hinting at the tiniest smidge of emotions at a moment’s notice. Her tone is typically of the gentle type, being quite soft yet stern enough to be assertive. A scolding tone is also decently well used, having the ability to dish out proper reprimands without sounding condescending or particularly rude. Though, she does not necessarily sound motherly. Instead, her voice simply depends or, more accurately, requests respect with every word she relays.

“For a being as regal as yourself, you sure are sorry sight.”

“Bite your tongue, I say! It is not your turn to speak.”

Abilities:

Earth Speak

An ability similar to that of seismic sensing, but with a bit more of a personal twist. Rather than merely feeling the vibrations of another travel through the ground, she is essentially told by soil itself what is moving to, fro, or around. So long as both she and the thing in question is touching the ground that is. It may also grant her information on the location of stationary objects and what is in their vicinity. For information to be gathered, she is to actively pause and listen to what is being “said” rather than simply knowing. Tree roots must be present in the area for this to work.

Haunting Mimicry

As mentioned above, Salix has the capability to harden hed scales in order to mimic the texture and density of weeping willow bark – making her virtually indistinguishable from the tree itself. Using this ability along with her flexibility results in a scarily accurate mimicry. This can be done by simply wrapping herself around a tree and hooking her wings into a position that makes them appear as though they were mere branches on the large plant. Hardening of the scales, naturally, causes a decrease in motion for this female. Then again, it is not truly needed with how accurate her mimicry is. This can lead to haunting imagery, such as the slow turning of her narrow head to grant anyone nearby an “eyeless” stare. Though, this sort of stare is not by choice– with her eyes naturally losing their glow when she is this way. Her durability is barely increased from this shift and does become more flammable in this state.

Prickling Splinters

Prickling splinters is one of Salix’s most frightening abilities. Not due so much to damage it causes or the toll it takes, but for its unpredictability. It is unlike any other breath attacks out there, being able to catch any dragon who has not already faced her off guard. Following a larger intake of air, the petite dragoness will spew not flame nor water, plasma, or gas but barrage of literal “splinters” in the wake of her foes – their velocity so harrowing that great damage can be caused if one is not careful. This breath is often aimed toward the eyes of weak points of her opponents, so long as she actually knows what they are. Some serious damage can be dealt by these so long as they don’t meet a tough hide. Wings in particular are susceptible to taking large amounts of damage if hit with a large amount of the – their velocity causing them to go straight through the membrane so long as it is not naturally tough. However, this breath is not all that accurate, so it can be easy to dodge if one plays their cards right. These splinters, though small comparatively to dragons, are rather sizable for a human and can be a death sentence if one is not careful. In order to protect herself from these splinters, the inside of her throat is incredibly tough and slick, preventing them from sticking into her. It should also be noted that this breath has limited “shots” – being limited based on the amount of bark she consumes. Then again, seeing as it is one of her primary sources of nutrients, it is difficult to run her out of splinters, but not impossible.

Herbal Colloquy

Herbal colloquy is not an uncommon ability for dragons of her class to possess. It has been seen in a number of earth dragons before her, and will be seen in many more in the future. This ability grants the user the power to communicate with plants – being able to hold proper conversations with them and even ask questions. It is as though her very presence brings some sort of sentience to the foliage she is around. It provides a means for this dragoness to gather information whenever the need arises. Though, she is limited to what plants she can speak to due to the large variety of dialects and accents that all plants have. Trees and vegetation that grows on them prove to be her limitations, with weeping willows and that which grows on them being the ones she can understand the best. Other trees, while not impossible to understand, simply have dialects that she doesn’t know as well as the tree she mimics. If used properly, her conversations – or, rather, requests – can aid the following ability by a small margin.

Tree Manipulation

Like a lot of other aspects of this female, this ability is strictly centered around her connection to trees. It is an extremely specified version of plant manipulations, with her only being able to grow or alter the growth of trees at will. Extending branches, curving limbs, straightening a truck, and the like are all in the realm of possibilities for her. It takes a good amount of energy to conduct these actions, however, and can be rather slow at times. Like always, this ability works best on weeping willows which take less energy and time to effect. However, if she uses her skill in communicating with the trees prior to attempting to manipulate them, the time and energy it takes to grow or shift the plant will lessen. So long as the plant said she could, anyway. When this ability is used the previously mentioned golden glow of her grooves and eyes will present itself.

- A natural scent permeates from this female, mimicking that of an actual weeping willow to a T. If one attempts to sniff her out of her hiding spot, they’ll be coming up empty handed.

- Like all weeping willows, Salix does indeed hibernate during the winter – leading to her consuming a lot more prior to this event. It is impossible to wake her when in this state. This is one of the only times in which her scales harden instinctively, and they will remain this way until she is dormant no more (which is around the early spring, late winter months).

I would say that I started reading the Oracles Of Fire recently, but it wasn't in the store when I want ta check for it. :(
