Name:
Belvidere
Meaning “Beautiful View”
Nickname:
Belv
Age:
71
Gender:
Male
Role:
New Dragon
Class:
Water
Appearance:
For a beast of the sea, Belvidere is an oddly petite specimen. He stands at a mere eleven feet at the shoulder, making him one of the smallest dragons in the group. His neck length does not help his case either, only reaching three feet. Thus making him only fourteen feet tall in total. His horizontal measurements are no better. In total, he tops out at only twenty four feet (not including his tail fin). Ten feet of this length reside with his tail, while the other fourteen feet goes to his main body. He isn’t expected to get any bigger, but is likely to fill out over the next few coming years. Though, this small size is not without reason. His natural habitat, coral reefs, required such a size in order for him to be able to thrive and move about the stony environment. However, do not underestimate him just because of his size. He is still built for survival, just for an odd sort of lifestyle.
~~~
The male’s body is an interesting mix of practical and impractical elements. For basic structure, it is lean and mostly streamline – designed for agility and flexibility to swiftly swim through the rocky outcrops of his home. His spine in particular is impeccably flexible, like that of a cat. It can twist in turn in ways that most would think it be immensely painful, if not downright life threatening. While not at all void of it, muscle is not a common theme in the beast’s body. It can be seen in his legs, tail, and neck, but can only be observed when one is up close and personal to him – making him look weak to most at a distance. Four legs stem from his body, each ending in large (in comparison to his body), webbed paws. These paws all end in short, sharp, and very much curved claws, made for gripping slippery fish and slicing through thick skin. His scales are rough in texture and seem to mimic the patterns of hard coral. His chest is in between “broad” and “average” – looking more useful in the action of absorbing oxygen than much else. Speaking of absorbing oxygen, a set of gills can be found around the upper portion of the dragon’s neck. There are three slits on each side of his neck which are very hard to notice with how tight they stick to him. He also has a pair of lungs that allow him to breathe on land. Alternation between the two is simple. When the gateway to one closes, the other opens. At the tip of the male’s tail resides a fish-like fluke, looking to be akin to a stereotypical mermaid’s tail. The fluke is divided very early on in its formation, only having a few inches of the fins connected before they split off to create two overlapping structures. Both sides have quite a skinny structure – not being very wide – but are extremely long, being around four feet in length. A few inches above this tail fin are two smaller fins on the sides of his tail, both being around six or less inches in length. Both are curvy in structure, curling out and away from the tail before curing back in to connect back to his scales. Along his back and middle of his neck are layers of coral shaped spines, the end of which are all blunt. Each spine mimics the shape of different species of color such as elkhorn, sun coral, montipora, and acropora coral to name a few. There is no exact pattern to the sizes of these spines, other than the fact that they are essentially miniature versions of the real thing. However, no spine exceeds the length of seven inches. Among these spines are various species of actual coral that have deemed his back their home, all of which are considered hard species. These living coral specimens naturally do not exceed the seven inch “limit” that his spines have in order to blend in. Not that they’d have to worry about that, anyway. He always keeps him nice and pruned. The spines die off before reaching his head and tail tip, whereas the coral strictly sticks to his back. For the most part, these sections of coral along with his spines act as a shield or armor for the areas they cover. However, they are extremely brittle and it does not take much to break them. Thankfully, though, they grow back rather quickly. This “brittle” like nature to his body causes him to have a rather unassuming appearance in the eyes of humans and animals alike. But such thoughts might just lead to their funeral.
~~~
Much like the rest of his body, Belv’s facial features continue with the lean and streamline appearance. His snout and head are narrow and slim, easily designed to slice through the water at high speeds with ease. The edges of which are sharp and well defined. At its tip his snout resides a short and slightly outwards-pointing nose horn. It, unlike his spines, is not shaped like coral. Sharp teeth are well hidden within his jaw, with not one of them sticking out when he doesn’t want them to be shown. They are in pristine condition as well due to his constant cleaning of them. Underneath his bottom right jaw runs a jagged scar which is similar in color to his actual pigmentation. The only way to spot it is looking at its texture. He has a band habit of rudding this scar during times of high stress or embarrassment. The male’s eyes are oval shaped and draconic. The pupils of these eyes act much like those of a cat, but are more rounded in shape. The most striking feature of the dragon’s head (and the most striking feature in general) are his horns. They are large and impractical, looking to be antler-like structures that mimic the shape of staghorn coral. The horns start at the top sides of his head and grow out more horizontally (backwards from his head) than vertically (but still with a good upwards movement), like the antlers of a bull elk. Just wider with a slightly more prominent incline. The horns branch out as well, but do not make new sections from the branching. The tips of each section of the horn are blunt. Currently, his horns appear to be immature thanks to his age – only measuring out to be three feet in length. However, they are expected to become much larger with the coming years, reaching about six feet when fully mature. Compared to his spines, these horns are much sturdier. They need to be, after all, with how big they are. They are not strong enough to deliver harsh blows to an opponent, but they can deal a hefty amount of damage. As outlandish as these horns are, they do actually serve a purpose for dragons akin to him. They act like the tail of a peacock, being flashy and designed to be shown off. The larger the horn, the more attractive one is considered as it shows that the dragon has the skills needed to survive. It is not uncommon to see him shaking his head around a female he is interested in to show off these antlers of his. A habit from whatever instinct he has managed to grasp onto. Two ears sprout directly below these horns, like those of a mammal (just not furred). They’re medium in length and end in rounded points.

The wings of this flashy male are nothing too fancy or outstanding. There are two of them which collectively reach a wingspan of twenty two feet. Small compared to most others. But, considering that they are built more for underwater travel than flying, it is not too surprising. Though, this does nothing to deny the fact that he’s a decent flier. He truly is. He’s just not as comfortable in the air as he is in the water. They are bat-like in structure with the usual wing fingers dividing the webbing. The fingers end in blunt points, much like his spines. The webbing itself takes an interesting design. At all times – but especially under the water – they look to almost be flowing, like light hitting the surface of the water and rippling with each and every disturbance. The edges of said wings are seemingly loose, and flops downwards slightly when against his sides. This odd look as well as the positioning of his wings (which reach slightly around where his neck and body meet) make it seem as though he is wearing a cloak. When stretched out, the wings take a sort of curved position that angles upwards. This design factor of these wings is meant to take advantage of underwater currents, catching their momentum and propelling himself forward and out of harm’s way. Though, they can just as easily be used for snagging air currents. No wing finger can be found at the bend in his wing, leaving a smooth curve in its wake. It’d be annoying to deal with if it was present, having it hook onto sea grass, rocks, coral, and the like.
~~~
Based on his build alone, it is no surprise that Belvidere’s form doesn’t exactly focus on camouflage. Rather, it aims to be as flashy and eye-catching as possible. Much like the peacock mentioned from before. The colors of his kind brighten as they age, signifying their triumphs from their earlier years. The base color of his body is the stereotypical coral pink like that found in venus sea fans. It makes up the majority of his scales, excluding mainly his belly. Between the spines and coral along his back, tail, and neck, swirls of different colors can be observed weaving between them – constantly overlapping but never mixing within one swirl. The stunning orange of sun coral. The bright yellow of elkhorn. The serene lilac of acropora. All these colors run rampant throughout these areas, and even dips down his sides at times, creating waves of colors that most could only dream of possessing. The spines themselves also take after these colors while the coral are these actual species (minus any of the soft ones) with the added bonus of the blue of the rare montipora. Sometimes, the start of a swirl can be found deriving from one of the spins of that corresponding color. The wing membranes are a beautiful mimic of the sunset, starting out blue at the top of his wing – the area the membrane and main bone meet – and ending in a mix of yellow, orange, and pink. All of the colors from before can be found in this mixture with some swirls cutting through the design. The very edge of the membranes, however, add another color to the concoction which is left untouched by the swirls. It is a pale yellow, like that seen in light that reflects off the water during the day. It flows up and down each and every one of this wing webbing, creating wave-like motions. His tail fins share the same coloration and pattern, with the added bonus of pale yellow dots scattered throughout his fluke. His underbelly is simply a lighter shape of the pink that coats his body and is near white in its shading – akin to that of a pearl. His horns follow the same sunset fade of his wings, but stick between the pink, purple, and orange hues. His nose horn is just a pink to purple fade. His eyes are shrouded by rings of the whitish pink from his underbelly, cutting them off from the coral pink of the rest of his face. They also provide a case of heterochromia, with the right eye being a sunset blue while the left is a burning yellow. Swirls of color slash horizontally across his eyes, with their downwards points going down his cheek. The colors of them are the same as his eyes, just reversed.
Belvidere doesn’t produce many interesting noises, usually sticking to whistles, clicks, and bird-song like things. His roars, while seldom used, are rather dull compared to most others. Naturally, he has five main roars: broadcast, friendly, threaten, frightened, and victory. His broadcast is a whale-like noise – low and serene – with some harmonic touches. This song can last for hours and has many different notes, rhythms, and tempos it can follow, as though it were a song and not a roar. A siren’s song. His friendly call is where he utilizes the sound of dolphins whistling the most, simply because it sounds the… well, friendliest. His threaten, however, is not something one would like to hear when in the dark. It is an interestingly low and rumbling sound that cannot be compared to any other sound within the oceans. It takes after no creature or thing, for that matter, that humans know of. The angry clicks of a sperm whale can be heard beneath this low rumble, but come out more at the end are the rumbling decrescendos. His frightened roar is nothing noteworthy. Just a simple, shrill call of an orca. “Victory” is in the same boat, with it being a clear mix of his singing broadcast and rumbling threaten. The sperm whale clicks are no longer present, and the low note of his threaten has shifted into a harmony line for the broadcast’s melody.
~~~
The beast’s voice is much like his broadcast, a true siren song. It is smooth and flowy, with each and every one of his words being connected yet well defined all the same. He experiences very little hiccups in his speech – not stammering, stuttering, chokes, loss of words, or anything of the sort. The pitch of this voice is in the medium range of males, with a tone so elegant and high strung that one either cannot tear their attention away from it or they cannot stand to listen. There is no in between. Everytime he speaks, one is bound to feel an “all about me” vibe from him which is (typically) spot on. It is rare to find him talking about something that isn’t himself. Though, if a female strikes his fancy, he is likely to preach about her as much as he does for himself. If not more.

“Jump in the muck? Are you insane? That may just ruin my natural complexion.”
The coral coated dragon sighs, “Fine. I suppose I can spare you some of my time. But, please, don't make me regret it darling. And make it quick. I don’t have all day.”
“Here,” he tosses a small bag your way, “go and fill this for me. I’ve been on my feet all day and simply cannot walk another step without collapsing.”
“Yes, I saved you. Of course I did! You were carrying my lunch after all, and I refuse to live without it.”
Eloquent… Elegant… Flamboyant… Dastardly charming. All things that Belvidere can easily be described as (though, he may have thrown in the “charming” aspect on his own accord. Quite a few would argue otherwise). His way with words is awe inspiring, motivating even the most down-on-their-luck of beings. He can just come up with something on the spot that is filled with words that ninety percent of his audience won’t understand but sounds motivational that they don’t care about its meaning and just listen with wide eyes. Maybe even some tears, from the soft hearted folk. And it’s not like he’s merely rambling incoherently either. He knows exactly what he is saying, and puts every ounce of emotion he can muster into the speech. Even if doesn’t feel a lick of it himself. His elegant nature all but personifies this awestruck feeling. His steps never falter. His head is always held high. And his eyes, oh those eyes… oh how they look so trustworthy. So wise and powerful. (“And charming! Don’t forget charming!”) They may as well be glass panes, with the view they protect being his very soul. But, one must be careful before stepping into their gaze. Glass panes such as these may always have curtains to cover them. And he draws them over his divides hues constantly. Expressive, no matter the usage of emotion present. And choose wisely which eyes you walk to. One burns as bright as the sun is but is as cold as the night. The other, while promising safety from afar, can drown one with its misguidance without a second’s hesitation or warning. Both sides elegant, but equally as ensnaring. He flaunts this appearance often, as well as the rest of his pristine image. Showing off to males and females alike (but especially to females). He puts on a show for all to see. All one has to do is watch and listen.
The flashy dragon’s “shows” are always entertaining, even to the most stoic of beings. They always seem to have a sort of… flare to them that one just simply cannot deny. Or a twist to a familiar story that always catches one off guard. Whether it be him acting out a drama (with an interesting level of skill for a dragon), adding emotion to the jokes of a comedy, or just shaking his horns about, there always seems to be some level of entertainment to take away from it. Maybe it’s his voice that causes the desire to continue watching. Maybe it's the flair he adds to each and everyone of his motions and expressions that keep the onlooker on the edge of their seat. No one really knows why exactly he is so enjoyable to watch, but they don’t complain either. Typically, if he is to add a particular flair to his performances, he’ll try and make it a bit more light hearted – even if he is far from it himself. These attempts of “goofiness” have the potential of making a decent chunk of his audience members laugh, simply because of how outrageous, random, or unbelievable they are. Though, he only uses these if he notices that the attention of his observers is waning.
Ah yes, attention. The one thing the pink sea creature truly holds dear. He just loves the sensation of hundreds of eyes gazing upon his magnificent form each and every hour of the day. It may as well be a part of his diet with how often he seeks it. And trust me, he knows when he’s not getting it. He is very attentive to the mannerisms of his audience, and will absolutely pull stunts to reel them back in most of the time. Poking, nudging, and teasing should be the least of one’s worries when he wants your mind on him. He’ll go quite far to gather this attention, with very little being considered “too far” by his standards. Best to give it to him, as to not cause a scene. The easiest way to tell if he wants one’s attention is by how talkative he’s being. He tends to talk a lot more at with whom he desires something from (which is, admittedly, hard to distinguish from his usual continuous rants). His topics range from himself, acting, plays and dramas, himself, and anyone he fancies. Oh, and was “himself” mentioned already? He loves to talk all about his passions, appearance, and distates. Anything about him is fair game. Though, don’t expect him to take interest in most other topics. He may crave attention, but he’s not willing to give it in return.
Calling this flamboyant dragon a narcissist is… honestly spot on. He’s not the biggest of narcissist (having much weaker tendencies than actual ones), but he’s still one nonetheless. He is incredibly self absorbed, seemingly holding a strong admiration of himself. He very much believes that he is the center of the world. That, if he were to snap his fingers, everything would come to a halt and pay attention to him and him alone. Of course, this is no way the case, but it should be! (“I mean, surely. It is only what’s best for the world – having a charming and glamorous fellow like me at the head of the table. They’d never have to stare at another lackluster sight as far as I’m concerned. No dirt. No dust. Nothing out of place. The would would simply be an article of… perfection. Besides, how can anyone resist someone as beautiful as me?”) However, he does not believe himself to be deserving of it. Or anything for that matter. He wants it, yes, but he’s not going to force it upon anyone. Being this self-centered has led the male to become a bit selfish over the years. While not thinking himself deserving something, he is still likely to hang onto what he has. He will not share it with anyone (unless they provide the proper bribe), and will not lend a single drop to another. He also gets rather possessive of this object. Even territorial at times. Not to the degree of most other dragons, but still so. Though, he is by no means consistently selfish. He can have his… nicer moments. Just don’t expect too much of him unless he’s making an effort at gaining your companionship.
Another way to describe Belv’s self-important and selfish ways is through the use of the word “egotistical.” He views himself as superior to other dragons (and some humans) in many different walks of life. Naturally, his superior beauty is what comes at the forefront of his mind as well as keeping his body unkempt. Swimming is another skill he is proud of, believing that he is the best one around. No dragon, especially other water dragons, could stand a chance at out pacing him. If they’re in a reef-like area, or one with a multitude of objects to maneuver through. Design is another skill that he possesses. An odd passion and skill for a dragon, but present nonetheless. He has a good eye for it, knowing exactly what does and does not go with something else the second he lays his eyes upon it. Though, admittedly, a lot of his “skill” comes from his tendency to act as a perfectionist. He won’t rest until it is exactly how he wants it, even if the mistake was just a single hair out of place. Another way to put this being into perspective is by defining him as pompous. With a large ego (from the perspective of an onlooker) and arrogance to boot, it is of no surprise that he is seen as such.
However, truthfully, the multi-colored dragon doesn’t hold that much self esteem of himself. Rather he is actually pretty self-conscious – hence his need for attention, a form of validation in his eyes. The constant flow of doubts is never far from his thoughts, always wondering if he somehow managed to royally screw up in some manner. Most of these speculations center around his appearance. Is there something hanging off his horn? Dirt coating his face? A spine too out of place? A leaf stuck to his possibly mud-caked paws? Such thoughts have turned him into a huge neat freak. He is constantly checking himself over for anything out of places – leaves, mud, dirt, the odd feather on his back, a fish scale stuck in his teeth, his wings covered in muck, his tail dragging a mess of plants that itch his scales to an insatiable degree- Really, he is almost always cleaning himself, even if nothing is there. But, it is best not to point any of these “stains” out. He tends to get defensive – stubbornly so – towards those that do, snapping at them rather aggressively that there is “nothing out of place on me” even if he’ll check that exact spot when he shoos the being away with great concern in his eyes. An emotion that is almost always covered by those curtains of his. Though, he’d never dare to admit that they were right.
Impatience and lazy tendencies are not the most promising of qualities to see in anyone. Let alone someone who is considered to be a narcissist. But they are here and they are very annoying for those around this beast of the sea to deal with. He has a bad habit of sending others to do things over when he is perfectly capable of doing it himself (his usual excuse that he “can’t go any further” or that he has to care for his form in order to promote health and whatnot). And he sets an internal time limit for them as well, growing immensely impatient when they do not come back in time (which they almost never do). Expect to get a rather harsh – but short – scolding when you return with his request item. He does not stand for such “improper etiquette.” He will ensure that you do not fail him the next go-around after his little spat. Otherwise, he’ll have to give the “I’m so disappointed, I thought you cared” speech.
Towards those new in his life, the shimmering winged male can come off as snarky and just flat out rude. He likes to mock the words they have him suffer through, as well as the ideas of theirs that he outright despises. All the while being very critical of the whole thing, using rude remarks to point out the flaws he sees in it. And these are not meant to be playful jabs. He will make them hurt. However, he also has the interesting tendency of formality. Specifically around most females. He will put on a show of proper manners, gentle words, “caring” (or sometimes straight up caring) acts, and formal titles just for them. Males do not receive such privileges, unless around the female in question. He does not want her to see his darker side, after all. That’d ruin his chances.
Yet, underneath this self-centered personality is a being that is surprisingly caring… in his own peculiar way. He’s not a creature that is here to be a shoulder to cry on, nor is he willing to give hugs (even if he will upon request from a lady). Belvidere will just… pat their back awkwardly, give them the usual “there, there,” and possibly some comfort words. But no more!... Okay, maybe a little bit more. He… may or may not enjoy the act of giving the other person or dragon an item or two during their troubles. Pfsh! What, no! It’s not like he noticed how much they seemed to take interest in the object. He could care less! He just wants them to shut up, that’s all!… Yeah… Maybe he’s a lot softer than he likes to let on.

Abilities:
Current Manipulation
The power to manipulate currents. An interesting and handy little thing that the flamboyant male possesses. With this ability, he can change the flow, speed, and direction of occurring currents. When fighting in the water, this is his go-to ability. Shifting currents to propel himself while slowing down others has proven to be quite effective in battle. He can also create his own currents at times, but that takes a large quantity of energy so he uses it for emergencies only.
Water Breath
Nothing too fancy with this ability of his. The coral dragon has the power to spew up large quantities of water at foes that believe it wise to try his patience. Typically, this water is boiling hot – made this way from his body naturally heating it from within. Though, he can be found sunning from time to time in order to speed up the heating process. It is not uncommon to see steam flowing off its surface as it rushes towards an enemy. Mild burns and lasting injuries are the least of one’s worries with this attack. For humans especially. They’d be lucky not to have their skin literally melting off from its intense heat.
Stinging Spines
An ability that actually derives from coral itself. A form of mimicry of it. The spines, paws, and horns of Belv contain a sort of stinging cell that is found in coral called cnidocytes. These cells, upon use, will inject a sort of venom into the system of the being it came into contact with. However, this venom – which is slightly different than that of actual coral – does nothing more than cause immense pain that increases the longer it is in contact with the pain’s source. This pain lasts for quite some time after one touches on the coated structures, if not for multiple days. It can be lethal, but only in cases where exposure to the cnidocytes lasts for a couple of hours or if one is allergic to one or multiple of its components. These cells do more damage underwater than when on land. But one should be wary for he still has living coral upon his back. Meaning that one would have to deal with two different pain-causing venoms if they are not careful. Just be thankful that this ability only activates through his say so.
Hydrosphere
A small and barely noticeable ability that doesn’t do anything for him in a fight – even if it can make him harder to grip. Rather, it is merely used to keep both himself and the coral along his back moist, cool, and living. Those around him can also receive such benefits, minus the living part. This “hydrosphere” of his has a near constant presence in his vicinity when on land (and only on land). It is unusable underwater. But, of course, this ability is not everlasting. It relies on the excess amount of water in his body, and must be restocked daily lest it run out. This “restock” can either come from jumping into a body of water and soaking up some of the atoms or simply being in a humid environment. If not restocked, then he and the coral would slowly but surely dry out and likely die. The appearance of water droplets signifies this ability’s usage. Sort of like he is coated in an air of constant humidity. It can also cause small rainbows to appear around him if the light hits just right.
Hydrokinesis
The final ability of this beast is one that he rarely if ever uses, and is another land based one. The power to control water. While, yes, he does already have the power to change and sometimes create currents, Belvidere can also control water in general. To an extent, anyway. For the most part, all he can really do is extend the liquid past its resting point and use it as a sort of shield to block incoming attacks. Or, he can simply use it to drench himself in water to boost his hydrosphere. Otherwise, it doesn’t really have much of a use (as of right now). Water must be present in order to use this ability. It cannot be taken from the air nor the plants. Rather, it has to come from a source like a puddle, lake, river, or stream.
Strengths:
- Large Bodies Of Water –Naturally. Especially if the area contains a coral reef.
- Symbiosis w/ Coral – Belvidere’s symbiotic relationship with coral is a rather interesting benefit to his lifestyle. The little creatures act as a sort of armor for his delicate form (despite being brittle itself) and attracting prey to him. Meanwhile, he provides them with protection by eating the prey that seeks out the stony animals such as parrot fish and even some nutrients such as salt.
- Agility – The coral coated beast has a knack for agility, due to the make of his home. Being covered in tight turning pathways and narrow passages, it is of little surprise that he learned how to quickly turn in order to not ram into a dead end. Even in open water – and, in some cases, on land – he still retains this agile movement, swimming circles around nearly all other creatures that attempt to attack him.
- Flexibility – Another benefit stemming from his natural habitat. Belv is pretty flexible for a dragon that has literal coral growing on his back. He can turn on a dime, quickly going from left to right before one can blink. This aided in escapes from dangers when he was younger, using both his agility and flexibility to out maneuver predators by swimming through rock formations and narrow crevices within the reef.
- Appearance – All number of critters have a tendency to… underestimate the multi-colored dragon’s capabilities upon their first glance. Their first thought is typically on how dainty he may appear, or how weak his hide looks. They will eventually come to realize that, while brittle, he’s not defenseless. Especially after experiencing the immense pain that comes from cnidocytes both he and his coral companions possess. This rather unassuming appearance also draws a large amount of prey to him, leading to easy meals. After all, who would expect a calm and stationary dragon to instantly snap at their nearest companion?... Not the fish, apparently. And, of course, it provides some amount of camouflage that only works when in a coral reef. Handy but also not.
Weaknesses:
- Deserts – Areas without water? Disgusting. Sand gets everywhere, too. Ruins his pristine image.
- Appearance – An odd “equally good as bad” sort of aspect of this dragon. A double edged sword. It is impossible to not miss with he’s away from his natural habit, seeing as he is a mix of such vibrant colors. Then again, even when swimming through or around a reef, he can be easy to spot. Not even a field of flowers could hide him with how much he practically shines. And, of course, as useful as those springers of his are, he still looks frail. And he is! Very much so. Thus, he is the likely target of most pondering attackers.
- Darkness – Belv is very much a diurnal animal, only being awake during the day if he can help it. A lot of his life depends on the light of the sun: the health of his coral, the boiling of the water he holds, and his hunting to name a few important aspects. So, it is only natural for him to view any amount of darkness to be quite detrimental. Not only does it halt a lot of his everyday functions, but it makes it difficult for the male to see. He may as well be blind at night, and no amount of adjustment to his surroundings can change that.
- Durability – This male cannot take many hits. At all. He was not made to last in any form of battle. Nearly every aspect of him is brittle, and can snap like a toothpick if given the right amount of pressure. His only saving grace are those stinging cells which stun enemies just long enough for him to make an escape. As well as give them a reason as to why attacking him from certain angles is not the brightest idea.
- Lack Of Water – All of his abilities and his health (and the health of his coral) depend on water. Preventing him from getting any when he is in need of it and you may as well be closing his casket.
