My, oh my, when did she lose her soul?

This canine is of a rather complex nature. One that requires someone to truly understand her. Outwardly, this female is cold and callous - she doesn't care who she hurts with her words, she speaks her mind. Yes, she is a blunt and straightforward creature which can be quite annoying and harmful for others. Her words can cut and offend others quite easily, especially if they're not thick-skinned. However, even though she has a big mouth - she knows when to keep it under control and when she can bitch and moan. So yes - she can be respectful and have proper mannners when needed, she can even grow soft when needed - however, this is a rarely seen trait of hers. This female also is very opinionated, she knows when she's able to voice her opinion boldly or when she can make snide remarks under her breath. Yes, it seems that this female has nothing but sarcastic and snide remarks for those around her. It can be quite off putting and can make others not enjoy her company. She doesn't mind however, she's used to being alone so why should it hurt even more...right? It seems she's foul-tempered due to this, but in reality she's not. Actually she's quite patient, sure someone may see her snapping at another canine however it takes a while to get her riled up, so for her to truly snap or argue with someone then she is at her wits end. The usual response to rude or snide remarks from others is usually a chilly and unimpressed glare or a look of boredom or impasiveness - if you yell at her she doesn't give a damn unless you've said something to really tick or push her buttons.

If one were to ask about her past they would hear many comments like, "Oh she used to be so kind." , "She was just an angel." , "It's such a tragedy she's become so . . . apathetic." In all these cases , the words spoken are true. In her youth, oh yes she was a kind and naive little creature. She's the one who would be up in the morning with a boundless amount of energy and a gleam of mischief in her eyes. Now she only gets up early with a somber expression and a purpose in her walk. She was the one to say light-hearted jokes, albeit some could be a little mean but everyone knew she never meant any harm. Now, her words are more venomous and pessimistic than ever, and she does mean them at times - yet, she doesn't mean them at times as well. She was the kind friend, the friend that would empathetically listen to you, the friend that would use humor or even dark humor to get things off your mind, she was the good friend. Then where did it go so wrong? Maybe her kindness got taken advantage of one times too many, her friends got bored of her and replaced her, or maybe a traumatic experience occurred - no one truly knows as she doesn't like talking about her past. If one would take the time to observe her closely they would note small things about her : the respect she has for those older than her and those ranked above her, her desire to be the best she can and to be useful, the subtle twinkle in her eye and gentleness with pups, or her being able to lower her voice and be empathetic at times. Yes, these core traits of kindness, empathy, and loyalty are still there one just has to look beyond the surface.

When it comes to love and friendships this female is a peculiar creature. Surprisingly, this female is a good friend of one decided and dared to get close to her. Or if they knew her before her change in behavior. This female is very protective of her friends . She's the type of friend to see who you are hanging out with and vet them before she decides to tolerate them. Yea - she is the friend that gets jealous if you call her best friend your best friend . She's the one who will hypothetically and quite literally kill for them and protect them with her life. She's a loyal friend, one that would ride with them until the very end. They may even see a more light hearted and kinder side to her, possibly even get a laugh or joke from her. These are the ones she absolutely trusts and confides in - they are her chosen family. Their children are her children - her nieces and nephews whether they like it or not, she is Auntie Ore and only them and her friends can shorten her name. When it comes to love, this female is quite amusing. This female is one to hide her feelings of love for them under sarcastic remarks and being snappish, however she can keep her cool around them. Unless they compliment her - then she becomes quite flustered and she'll take it out on them. She's one to be confused when she's in love, after all how can such a person like her be in love with another? Once she finally confesses her feelings she's one to be more soft and kind, only for them and possibly those close to them. She also is a jealous creature and won't hesitate to embarrass another canine for flirting with her partner.

This female is quite odd when it comes to social interactions. She doesn't like hanging out with other pups - she'd rather be with her own siblings after all they are her first priority. Her family comes before anyone else - she choses them above anyone. This little creature is quite frosty and supsicous when stranger pups come asking her to play - she'll cut her eyes at you and tell you to go away. However, if one is persistantly trying to know her she will eventually give in and go with them, but she won't play no dumb games. She won't chew on a stick but she will wrestle with you afterall that strengthens her body, she won't chase her tail but she will play hide and seek because it sharpens her tracking skills. Yes, she wants games that work her brain. If one doesn't just persist in befriending her then they may try a differant approach, you may find her on her little "perch" or high spot doing "survellience" on the pack. Yes, if you come and sit next to her and silently observe the pack with her then maybe she'll acknowledge you, possibly - she'll give you the latest gossip or gossip with you.

This female is quite protective of her friends. If her friend has a new friend then she wants to know who they are, where they come from, and why are they friends with her friend. Yes, she is a little jealous creature when she's not getting a lot of attention from friends. It can come out as a form of slight pouting, more grumpiness, or just plain saying she doesn't like it. This creature also isn't above boldly telling off an adult if they are messing with her friends. She will bite at the ankles of an adult with her sharp as hell fangs "defending" her friend. Good friends to her are like family. Speaking of family, that's another way to earn her friendship. If her family adores you then she'll tolerate you and possibly become attatched to you, however the moment you say something bad or mean about her family she will throw you aside. Another thing is, if you're her blood kin she automatically adores you even if she doesn't show it. She'll have her favorite sibling or favorite cousin and her favorite aunt and uncle if she has any, this also include those she views as play relatives. This female will always be found trailing her father as she's a daddy's girl, if she's not trailing him then she's bombarding him with questions or just laying on him. She adores her father, but she also does love her mother and siblings if she has any. Be warned: she may be the youngest, oldest, or middle sibling but she will defend them with all she's got.

The first think you notice about this female are her more undesirable traits. This female is rather cold and callous, she speaks her mind when she so pleases and she doesn't hold back. No, she is blunt and straightforward - after all someone has to be that right? It would be a waste of time to make a situation seem like kittens and rainbows when in reality it snakes and poison. She is the type of person to be brutally honest with you and slap some sense into you when you're doing something dumb - you hurt your self by running too fast, "Why the fuck were you running so fast dumbass, slow down next time - or maybe next time don't try and run." Sarcasm and apathy is something else she's good at - her words just ooze sarcasm and annoyance at times. She's quite the master of the eye roll, cold glare, and grumbling under her breath. She acts like she doesn't care when in reality she does, her apathy is rather directed towards those not within her group or circle. If someone she didn't like or know was begging on their knees for help, she'd rather see their head on a stake or ignore them. Unless she is forced to work with them - she doesn't give two shits about them. She also doesn't care what others say about her, but if it comes back to her - then there will be a problem once she finds out who starts it. And don't dare let it be someone close to her - someone will have a new scar on them, or possibly "accidentally" found in a river.

Some more undesirable traits of this female includes her more manipulative and predatory nature. This female is a skilled manipulator, she has found a way to push the right buttons to get when she wants when she wants. It's quite something scary to watch - one moment she can go from crying to straight up a demon from hell. Many don't see this side, after all those in her pack don't need to see it, unless they've done something to anger her or she's trying to find out something. Yes, she uses this skill for both good and bad. It can be helpful if she wants to find out something about someone - especially if the person is being stubborn and won't outright say it. It can also be an intimidating factor, because who in the hell would want to see such a scary side of her? Now - if you're someone that doesn't belong to her pack then you'll see her more sadistic and predatory side - the glint in her eye when she find out she can do with you as you please for offending her or her pack. Just the idea of ripping someone's fur off or getting the chance to verbally berate and taunt someone for being an idiot excites her - and my, does she verbally disassemble them. Loners will experience no mercy from her - as she has no sympathy for them, unless they in the future become a pack member she'll never apologize for her actions towards them . When loners come across her , she's a cold and venomous creature who will inflict injury on them if they don't listen or disobey her.

Aside from her more undesirable nature, she does have redeeming qualities. While she may appear to be apathetic - in fact she's a natural emph. She's is well aware and in tune with the moods and natures of others. This can also be due to her more observant nature - she enjoys watching others from the background, just getting a read off them from their conversations and who they affiliate with. She is the type of person to show her love in her deed rather than her words - saying you love her or care for her isn't enough. You must prove it, the only people who don't have to do this are those in her family because they automatically hold a special place within her heart - the only way they don't is if they find a way to break her trust. To her words are fickle, you must prove yourself in your actions - she's not easily impressed . To truly impress her and earn her respect is a rare thing and something admirable. This female is also a natural leader despite her other qualities, she knows how to take control when needed - she's one to be honest with those she leads and she would gladly sacrifice herself for them. Sure, she may call them idiots or be a bit mean to them, but that's her way of showing her love, even if she's being blunt and uncaring - her criticism is almost always right. She makes it a point of being right - she never wants to be wrong, so when she is and someone gets hurt a piece of her dies. However, if she's right and no one listened - then she will be angry.

Silas still has the look of adolescence. His fur not quite as thick as the others, the longness of his legs that most young animals have yet to grow into, his ears being a bit larger in proportion to his head, and the small things that say he is not an adult yet. If he lives through the Trials and to six years old, to adulthood, he will find out that he never will look exactly like the others around him. Sure, his fur gets thicker come colder weather, but it will always be thinner, giving him a sleek, streamlined appearance. His legs will always been just a touch longer. He will never outgrow these little things, therefore he will appear younger than he actually would be. One could say he is like a red wolf in terms of build. Even as first glance, one could tell that he was made for speed. His lean body is covered with ink-black fur, thinner than the typical wolf's pelt and lying closer to his body; with only some gray grizzle on his back and neck. Most likely his fur will lighten with silver hairs as he ages, as most black wolves do, but for now, he is a dark black. His alert gold eyes are framed by the black fur on his face; and the sparser silver-gray hairs on his forehead, combined with the dark fur, seems to make his eyes look brighter, more intense.

He stands at 25 inches at the shoulder and weighs 72 pounds. Evidently, he is not the largest wolf around, his height between small and medium; and he is lighter than some his age are. But there is power in those limbs, in his shoulders and hindlegs, that allow him to start sprinting in the blink of an eye, that allow him his agility, that allow him to move so swiftly. So let it be known that while Silas is lean, he is also padded with muscle. He has a way of moving, quiet and swift, that makes him stealthy; like a living shadow. He doesn't quite trot, doesn't quite slink, but seemingly glides over the ground like mist. His pawsteps light and quick and quiet. And he can disappear from sight easily, one moment he is there and the next he isn't. Most of the time, he doesn't even realize how stealthy or mysterious he is being, to him, it's just normal for him and doesn't pay much thought into it. Unless he needs to sneak around for some reason.

He usually looks alert, ears flicking around and his eyes glancing around. He holds himself normally, not too proud or confident, but not submissive either. His usual expression is just normal, or indifferent; or focused, depending on the context.

Personality: Silas is a bright young wolf, a quick learner with a sharp mind, and he does like to learn. But he is more reserved, not making a show of his emotions or thoughts like some do; he prefers to keep his emotions to himself and share his thoughts when necessary. Which is when someone asks him, or if he needs to take action. He is a quiet wolf, more prone to listening than speaking. His silence conceals a clever mind. Like most youngsters, he is energetic and loves to move. Very active this one is, and is eager to do anything with physical activity; hunting, scouting, or training. He gets restless easily unless very tired out, it is sometimes hard for him to stay still. Though he can and will stay still if he needs to, it is a bit hard for him, but he can do it. Typically when he is very focused on something, a sure way to know when his interest is waning is when he starts shifting his weight or showing signs of restlessness. He also enjoys helping others out, usually tied with doing something active or involved in learning something new.

Silas is not without a fiercer side. He is a nimble and vicious fighter, even in training or spars. Like a flash of black lightning. He is not a wolf who goes around, picking fights left and right in their own ranking; but he is not an overly passive wolf either. Sure, he knows when to not show aggression, mostly to the high ranked wolves, but he has little tolerance when a wolf of his own ranking decides to act all high and mighty. Even then, he does not start the fight, although he will finish it; he lets the other wolf take the first move. Unless of course, he needs to strike first, like in a true life or death battle. He is a cautious wolf, careful, and this is apparent by just how he acts; he doesn't trust all too easily, though he isn't entirely closed off. It's more of a wariness that comes with meeting and interacting with someone you don't know well. He is pretty good at acting indifferent, but he hasn't gotten it down entirely yet, give him another year or something.

While Silas is usually pragmatic, for some reason, if he is wounded, he will not say anything about it. Unless it is pointed out, he will not bring attention to it, unless he is actually unable to move properly; then he would most likely make some remark about it. Which by that point, anyone would notice something wrong with him. He is a bit independent, enough that he sometimes doesn't ask for help when he needs it; because, depending on another wolf, ew. He gets satsifaction from solving problems himself. He can be quite... interesting when he is in a bad mood; or in pain, or tired, or irritated. He has a sharp tongue when he decides to use it, and it usually appears during those times, a bit cutting or sarcastic in words; or even snarling or snapping at others, and he is a bit more snippy when dealing with someone he dislikes, either that or ignoring the one in question. Not to mention his restlessness kicks up when he is injured, so it is hard to get him to rest for the sake of something called healing. It always seems like the intelligent ones are sometimes the most stupid in certain situations. Overall, a summary of his personality would be: Clever, stealthy, curious and eager to learn, and reserved.

I have a question before I put a character sheet- do the alphas have to be a mated pair? Or can they just be together for diplomatic reasons such as keeping order within the pack? And do they have to be opposite genders or no?

No the Alpha Pair doesn't have to be mates but can be diplomatic as well. And yes they have to be opposite genders.
