"they're like the Mean GirlTM of this RP now that i reread this"
====
Full Name: Arun Herath
Nickname: N/A
Preferred Name: Arun is fine, it's what everyone uses
Age: 18
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: They/Them
Sexuality: Panromantic Asexual & Polyamorous
====
Species: Naiad (Greek Mythology)
Appearance:
Arun stands at exactly 5'10", with a slim build. They're pretty much a skinny rectangle in shape, with little to no curves, and narrow shoulders. They do have a bit of muscle on their arms and legs, but not anything super impressive. They are athletic though, as an occasional competitive swimmer. Their skin is a warm shade of brown, with no freckles or birthmarks. They are affected by mild shortsight.
Arun's hair is black in color, and sort of rough- or more accurately, spiky- to the touch, but it's nice to look at, shiny and straight. It's cut extremely short, close to being shaved at the sides, while it's a little longer on top, and there's something that ...could be bangs, but's really just their hair brushed forward in a way that resembles it. A really short pixie haircut with undercuts on both sides would be the closest way to describe it. They have dyed it once or twice, but it always looked a little off- because of the already existing blue tones in his hair. No-one exactly knew how they'd managed to get born with blue-black hair, but well, it wasn't exactly uncommon, was it? The color in theirs is just...more visible. Speaking of which, it's several shades of blue, ranging from darker ones, barely visible tints of color against the black (Prussian blue) to lighter ones, faded but still distinct (Turkish blue).
They have a straight nose that turns up a little at the end, but it's not really noticeable. They have slightly downturned eyes with long lashes. The irises again are unnaturally colored, dark brown shot through with threadlike metallic gold strands. The gold is very fine though, and because Arun wears glasses (round ones with simple black frames), it's not noticeable most of the time. Their lips are thin, and they have straight, small teeth with sharp canines. Maybe something that's also worth mentioning is the fact that they have a fairly long tongue.

For clothes, Arun is generally is neat and co-ordinated with their choices, switching from more masculine/feminine looks depending on how they're feeling. They like somewhat contrasting colors, like yellows and blacks, and blues and reds, but not in an..overbearing, extremely bright way. They usually gravitate toward more stylistic choices over comfort. And if there's a color that they absolutely detest, it's neon green.
They have piercings too, two for normal earrings that they change often, and one on their left ear's helix, which has a small stud that they've had for quite a while. They can't remember who gave it to them, but they keep it in, if only because they can't be bothered to change it. The stud is gold, with a smooth black stone set into it. It's relatively simple in style, the stone being square in shape, and the gold just framing it. Arun also is almost always seen with at least three different things on their wrists, whether it's a watch, bangles, bracelets or something else.
Personality: Arun is:
- friendly, easygoing, humorous -
They seem a bit detached from people to begin with, but Arun will readily strike up a conversation with anyone. They like interacting with people, and are pretty good at making them feel at ease- if they do say so themselves. While they are content with their own company most of the time and prefer being approached, they will enter a conversation if it really interests them. At the same time, they also have quite a dry sense of humor, and getting them to laugh is pretty easy.
- attentive, quick, focused-
Arun is nothing if not putting their full concentration into whatever task they're doing. Whether it's learning how to do something new or completing an activity they've done a million times before, they will focus entirely on that. Which is why they often succeed in what they try to do. They pay a lot of attention to their surroundings and the people around them, and are quite observant when it comes to it. And they are quick when it comes to acting on decisions, which makes them good to have around in tight situations.
- competitive, snarky, overconfident -
Ah yes, this. Arun is extremely competitive. They don't challenge people outright, but it's like there's a chart in their brain, keeping track of how ahead they are. A score card, if you will. This leads to them being somewhat passive-aggressive at times, and maybe going off what was planned. It's an urge to prove themselves, to stay ahead, and they go to lengths to keep it that way. They also tend to let slip biting comments that they later laugh off, but are more than often meant to be more. This also stems from that 'need to be the best' mindset of theirs, as does the next trait: overconfidence.
Okay, Arun's good at stuff. They know they're good at stuff, and so they often float on that claim. Which leads to them taking risks and doing unnecessary things just to show that they can.
- adaptable, reliable, instinctive -
Arun, like said earlier, is good at acting on split-second instincts, and while they do make good calls most of the time, it's more often than not a 25:75 failure to success rate. Still, not bad. They're also a reliable person to have on your team, because no matter what stupid things they do, they will watch out for whoever they need to.
Another of Arun's strengths is their adaptability. If they're thrown into a new situation, they will get themselves acclimatized to it as fast as possible, and they're good at it. So much so that it's kind of uncanny, but it's mostly just confidence and attentiveness carrying them through the rough parts.
- jealous, selfish, dependent -
Arun is an insecure piece of shit. When they're close to someone, it becomes nerve-wracking for them to see the other spending a lot of time with other people. "What if they're getting tired of me?"
But they also won't confront the person directly, instead opting for cool silence, and causing both frustration and annoyance on both sides. They also live off of validation, of any kind- which is perhaps why impressing people is such a must-need for them -and if someone has a negative opinion about them, will probably overthink it way too much.
- courageous, protective, reassuring -
In other ways though, Arun is extremely generous. They don't shy away from giving other people compliments or offering help or comfort, and more often than not are the first person to step forward for anything. If they are your friend, they will be keeping an eye on your moods and needs. They are also bold, and don't step away from challenges. It could also be their plain stubborness.
- a bit judgemental when it comes to people with different opinions -
They call it blunt honesty, but they can be harsh about it.
- hardworking, uncomplaining, not easily distracted -
If Arun's told or asked to do something, they'll do it, no questions asked. It's just something that was printed on their brain from a young age, living in a household where that was the number one lesson to be learnt. Don't complain. Unless it's unfair, and they have a strong sense of right or wrong to tell them about that. And then they will complain.
Whatever else there is to say about them, Arun is hardworking and dedicated to whatever they're invested in, and they will do whatever they can to make it as perfect as they can.
Likes: Swimming, food, being able to impress people, validation, items of jewelry, having someone to guide/protec, flying (on a dragon lmao)
Dislikes: Being ignored, falling behind, hot weather, fire
Habits/Quirks:
1) Arun does that one anime character thing- the pushing up of the glasses- a lot.
2) They don't stand straight (ha), either putting all their weight on one leg, or shifting from one to the other.
3) They have a habit of shaking their head as if getting rid of water.
Family: Their family figures in the human realm:
Emille Herath (mother figure)
Alan Herath (father figure)
Abi Herath (brother figure)
Crush: N/A (not really looking for one, perhaps later in the RP)
Significant Other: N/A

Desired Dragon: Wenua (Inji)
If given the option what saddle/jewelry/or items would you put on your dragon: A leather saddle (maybe with some gemstones set in it- pearls, probably) and engraved gold bands on his horns. Not much, because it would either come loose in the air, or the water and then entangle both rider and dragon.
Character Powers:
Arun doesn't really have many offensive powers. They have the ability to breathe underwater (when they're taken to Daztan, but they could hold their breath for a long time before as well), their powerful swimming and how they can see in low light/murky surroundings, as well as heightened senses, which aren't much good in tough life-or-death situations. They do have, like one, which is basically make water form into hot steam- to either make cover or scald someone. They do already have quite a bit of strength and stamina, so that might count as a plus.
Roleplay Example: Scroll down, first (short reply) and second (longer one) pages. This was two-three months ago, but unfortunately, I don't have any more recent examples. I can definitely write more now :) --
