———_ ♣ _——— Plot What would you do if food wasn't within reach anymore? If suddenly you were in an unknown world, filled with unfamiliar things? The year is forgotten. Left in the dust of the past to quickly fade from human history. Instead, numbers are now used to tally days passed. Days survived. It was another world war that finally brought the Earth crumbling to its knees. Humans waged war with each other, and not only did they have to face the consequences of their naivety and selfishness in the end, but so did every other living being. In the end, it was all of us who had to pay the ultimate price of the humans' sins. Fortunately, many died instantly. A large portion of those who didn't die off right away, starved to death, or succumbed to illness or injury. These days even a slight cold could prove fatal for not just one being, but for everyone who comes in contact with them. Those who refused to crawl into Deaths maw willingly, found themselves facing a battle greater than they have ever witnessed. Not only was Earth changing into a barren cruel beast, but they themselves were changing into what humans used to look at and call monsters. Neurotica, Zombies, this "disease", and the things infected, who are called Kiseki, go by many names. It is assumed that the disease is somehow related to the radiation that is slowly strangling the planet. But that hasn't been proven, and quite possibly never will be. Neurotica may be passed by a single touch. The first stage of Neurotic is the inability to sleep. The one infected will become increasingly paranoid and may become aggressive. The second stage they start developing lesions on their skin. It is not known how or why, but it is known that these lesions heal at a later stage for a very select few of Kiseki. These special Kiseki often mutate in some way, and become unrecognizable and separate from the species they had belonged to when they were unaffected. That's all we know about them. We do not know if they are able to communicate or think. We know nothing. It seemed hopeless. But then we discovered the Bond. For some reason, surviving animals and humans were able to connect with each other on a level no one has experienced before. Not only that, but a pair may communicate with each other if their Bond is strong enough. Interestingly enough, a human is not able to talk to another humans animal companion, and vise versa. Suddenly hope was born again, for an animal that is able to bond, is mutated into some shape or form, and is immune to Neurotica. We think they may already carry the disease, but for some reason it affected them differently than it did with other species. More hope is born and spread when a human banded a group of survivors together and created a large domed city. This city was everything that people dreamed of. Food, clean water, houses, and most of all, security and safety from the dangers outside. Survivors flocked to the city, named Altaraz in hopes of starting a new life. However only the healthy were deemed "acceptable" and the rest were turned away. The ones unaccepted turned away from the domed city, living on its outskirts and forming their own sort of band. While these Outsiders were deemed "ill" and turned away, something coursed through their veins. Little did anyone know, the Outsiders held the abilities of the creatures the Bonded had worked so hard to companionize in their own hands. Where will you stand amidst the chaos? An Outsider rebelling against the peaceful life your group has grown upon, a burning lividness towards the Bonded for turning you and everyone else away? Or maybe your a Bonded human who yearns for some connection with the Outsiders once more. For adventure.

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. • Killing off characters without their players consent is a big no-no. Pretty self explanatory. You wouldn't want your character randomly dying without your say, would you? • Don't auto. Autoing is when someone doesn't wait after performing an action to act and/or respond to what happened. Ex; Yuí runs forward and kicks Max in the shin before running away laughing. See? Completely skipped over the other person and didn't allow them to respond. • Please be mindful of Metagaming. This is when a character suddenly and somehow knows something because of out of character retrieved information. Ex; Player sees two other characters not in the same vicinity to their character, talking about overthrowing the council. Suddenly their character knows these two are going to overthrow the council. Of you've read this far, go ahead and put "I know" in other • If there is a specific animal you'd like to have as your characters bonded companion, pm me and we can figure something out! As this roleplay doesn't take place too far into the future, the Earth's animals will remain the same. No dragons or unicorns please <3 • Like the above, if there is a mutation you were just really hoping to use and its not on the examples list and you aren't sure if you can use it or not? Pm me! • Humans that live in the glass domed city are free of any mutant abilities. Outsiders that live outside the domed city have mutant abilities, but no bonded animal (doesn't mean you can have regular pets <3) • Be as active as possible. If you are planning on taking a break or hiatus from game, let either LIZZ. (p# 324020) or Urux (p#: 315026) know before you up and leave. If you dont, and you don't reply to the roleplay within a week, you will be removed, and you'll have to sign up again. • Minimum of 8 sentences per post, please. Preferably, I'd like to see at least two or three paragraphs per response x if not more, then that's always welcomed. Just remember to give someone something to respond to in your posts. ———_ ♣ _——— Roleplay Terminology Neurotica - or Zombie. The disease that is spread through physical contact. Symptoms last 4 weeks in total before your transformation is complete. Kiseki - People, or animals that have been infected with Neurotica. They are referred to as such as soon as symptoms start. Altaraz - The domed city in which survivors, the Bonded live peacefully. Bond - The connection between a human and an uninfected animal. After the bond is set the animal companion in question will begin its mutation, becoming in tune with its partner with the ability to communicate via telepathy. The closer the bonded pair grow, the stronger their communication skills will grow and the higher the chances of other mutations forming within the animal companion specifically. Animal Companions Though it is considered normal to have smaller to medium sized grade animals, every so once in a while a larger grade animal will be bonded with. Its rare and sought after, but often, the humans can't choose their companions. No... Its the other way around. (Please pm me if you are interested in something off of this list and aren't sure if its allowed.) Small Grade Examples ⇓ (Considered the weaker out of the three grades, but they have their own benifits. Small bodies and senses.) - Rodents; Ferret, Mouse, Rabbit, etc... - Birds; Budgie, Falcon, Owl, Parrot, etc... - Procyonids; Racoons, Kinkajous, Nasua, etc... Medium Grade Examples ⇓ (Considered the most common out of the three, with a bit of training these animals will make great companions.) - Mustelidae; Otter, Skunk, Badger, etc... - Canidae (in some cases); Coyote, Fox, Dog, etc... - Reptiles; Snake, Turtle, Lizzard, etc... Large Grade Examples ⇓ (The rarest out of the three and are usually considered as dangerous or aggressive. Especially if not trained properly. They are highly respected if properly taken care of.) - Pantherinae; Lion, Tiger, Jaguar, Leopard, etc... - Caniforms; Bear, Wolf, Seal, etc... - Cervidae; Reindeer, Moose, Elk, Deer, etc... Mutations Every bonded animal has the ability to stay uninfected before they are bonded, causing them to be rare to find among the Kiseki's. When bonded, the pair automatically seems to have a sense of understanding between each other that will soon lead to telepathic communication. By that time, if your lucky, the animal companion will have gained another mutation or two. These are used both as a defense towards itself and to keep its companion safe as well. The Outsiders also have their own mutations, 1-3 depending on the person. (Again, let me know if there is an idea you'd like to have your character to have. Pm me!) Common Mutations ⇓ Enhanced Senses - Taste, Touch, Smell, Feel, or Hearing (up to 2) Enhanced Speed - Move both quicker and swifter than a natural animal of its breed would. Enhanced Strength - What it sounds like. Your animal companion may end up bulldozing through a wall the find couple times it realizes its ability. Uncommon Mutations ⇓ Invisibility - The ability to shift to a point where the companion is no longer visible to anyone by their human companion. Teleportation - The ability to move quickly between one place and another. If experienced enough the animal will be able to send their human companion somewhere else as well. Intangibility - Companions or Outsiders with this ability are able to move through solid objects without damaging themselves. Telekenisis - The mutation with the ability to move things with their mind. This can cause quite a bit of trouble, but couldn't the others as well? Prized Mutations ⇓ Mind Control - Usually just a slight nudge in the direction the subject wants the other to go. Think of a very strong sense of persuasion. Enhanced Healing - Being able to heal quickly takes a lot of energy from the subject but its worth it. Especially if they can transfer that ability into their bonded companion to heal them as well. Precognition - The ability to see the future. Most with this mutation describe dreams which seem to predict a set future. But futures can change. Right? Element Control - Whether that be water, fire, earth, or the ability to control the wind and air. It is a highly sought after ability and can be used for both good and bad.

〈 ——— - - - ——— 〉 Mirielle Banks "If I can't become better than them, then I will become so much worse." ——— Nickname: Mir. However, anyone under her respect better not refer to her as anything short of Commander. Age: 28 Years Old Gender: Female Bonded or Outsider? Role?: Outsider. Commander. Thoughts on the Other Group?: A long lasting, deep rooted hatred for them. She doesn't express this in words so much as she does with actions. Mir has been a thorn in Altarazs' side ever since she was turned away nine years ago. They separated her from her "healthy" younger brother and that is something she'll never be able to forgive. The hatred runs deep in her veins. Appearance: Height & Weight ⇓ 5'7" / 132 lbs Build ⇓ Mirielle is slender, but not in the deprived way you may think to first when you consider her situation. She isn't skinny or malnourished, instead presenting herself with an agile "runners body". She has a slimmer waist but other than that curves wouldn't be observed unless food was a consistent factor in her life now. She has a smaller bust, giving her a more masculine aura. Description of Appearance ⇓ She would catch the eye of any sane person. Man or woman for a matter of fact. She is attractive in the way that, if used properly, could be dangerous. Long, jet black hair falls down her back. Its pin straight and silky to the touch, often catching the light properly to give it a cool sheen. She has bangs that fall to the side of her face, framing it nicely in a way that accentuates her regal look. She will often keep her tail up in a high pony tail with two strands and her bangs out neatly. As her her face, its striking. That's putting it simply. With pale skin, high cheekbones, a smoothly cut jawline, and a diamond shaped face, Mirielle has been compared to many things. The most common being a vampire. She has a straight bridge of her nose, a slight upturn at the tip while her lips are on the thinner side. She has a defined cupids bow on her top lip and a fuller bottom. Her eyes are framed with long, thick natural lashes and are slightly turned up at the ends - hinting at her Korean American descent. She could be described with having siren eyes, their serious looking nature a default that gives her a total rbf. They are dark blue in color. Style / Fashion ⇓ Well, considering she's been an Outsider for more than a couple years, Mirielle wouldn't be caught dead in anything fact enough to ruin instantly. Her clothes are based off of necessity and its rare that she finds pieces that aren't worn enough to be used. Jeans/leggings and tank tops seem to be a common choice for her, as its easy to move around in and get out of situations faster than if she were wearing a dress. They are darker in color, black, brown, grey, as to not draw attention to herself as far as danger goes. Her shoes, like her clothing items, are convenient and easy to run in. Sneakers, running shoes, etc. Her style may have been describes as "streetwear" a couple years before the war took place. Posture / Movement ⇓ Fluid and confident like her. Mirielle holds herself with cat-like poise, moving quickly and with a level of agility that is a little more than impressive. Shoulders back, back straight, and long strides are terms to easily describe this category. Voice / Accent / Speech ⇓ Nothing too extraordinary about her voice. She carries an average application of speech. Her voice could be described to be a deeper feminine type, kind of husky, and at points she may slur her words together. When feeling strong about something or agitated, her sailors mouth will show itself paired with the cutting words she can spit at others. Personality: A spitfire. Mirielle takes her role as Commander seriously, but all and any means. She doesn't what has to be done, not what she wants to happen and she isn't afraid to speak up about the things that as e going wrong with... Everything. She is serious and well spoken, intelligent and intuitive. Her sheer level of observance can be rather unnerving at times, especially when she is looking you up and down specifically. She's a human lie detector and trust me when I say not to think about joking around with her, I mean it. She is lenient to few, so going around claiming you are someone she'll go soft on is a very low possibility. Mirielle is a well organized being. She doesn't like her plans going sideways because well, its agitating. That being said, she's always two steps ahead when it comes to over planning. She's thought about the possible risks, the solutions to those risks. She's always ready. Messing up or attempting to change her mind on an idea she's stuck on could very well lead to a white hot temper people aren't fond of dealing with. She's firm, assertive and can be rather bossy when she wants something done that isn't getting done. She doesn't like when things don't go her way and will end up spitting acid when respect isn't show. She rarely shows any level of affection towards anyone. After her brother was taken from her, Mirielle realized just how easy it was to loose the ones closest to her. She doesn't grow close to people for that specific reason. She's lost too much and the next time it happens could very well be her breaking point. If she were to have any relationship with anyone, devotion and respect would be her two must-haves. Her loyalty is unmatched and the bond between the two of them would tear her apart from the inside if it were to break. Mutations: Hypnokenisis - The ability to manipulate a subjects sleep. This can go for her as well if desired. Mirielle has had quite a bit experience with this throughout the years, most run ins with the use of this mutation has been with Kiseki. Specifically the Kiseki that the Outsiders take in during the early stages of the illness. After the weeks have passed and the subject was given the best the Outsiders could offer, the disease would become unbearable and Mir would be responsible for putting them to sleep before their suffering is ended. This mutation is also used commonly on survivors struggling with nightmares. Precognitive Dreams - Pairing with the mutation above, Mir has the ability to fall into a Hypnokinses-induced slumber and experience minor blips into the future. These "visions" are often vague enough that the woman can't intemperate the subjects involved. Its very rare, in her case, that she will be show anything more than the accident or event itself. She may see the environment it takes place in, but its not known for certain. Backstory: Mirielle grew up in Western Minnesota in a small town with the population of 5,000. Yeah, when I said small I meant it. Her mother and father were apart of the town council. Her family of four wasn't the richest, but they were doing better than most of the towns inhabitants. Then came the war. Neurotica. Her parents succumbed quicker than she could blink and eighteen year old Mirielle Banks was forced to take her younger brother and leave. A year of chaos, of worry and loss was ahead of the siblings. All she could think of was protecting her little brother. Her family. What was left of it that is. The pair were informed of the construction of a safe zone, Altaraz - they called it - and quickly made their move. Along the way the two of them encountered dozens of other survivors and finally, they arrived. It was beautiful. And safe.... Mirielle was rejected and her brother the opposite. He hadn't wanted to leave her but Mir insisted, saying she'd be fine. That they'd find each other again after this was all over. WIP Full Name: Leo Ramirez Nicknames/Alias: N/A Age: 22, going on 23 Gender: male Bonded or Outsider? Role?: Bonded citizen Thoughts on the Other Group?: He worries for them. He wasn't born in Altaraz, and even though he was just a kid when his family made the journey there, he remembers what it was like outside the walls. His sister is out there. He wants to find her, and bring her back. He wants to bring them all back, wants them to be safe. His moms tell him to keep those thoughts to himself, even though they want the same. Appearance (please credit images properly if using them): He stands at 5'9", with a somewhat muscled frame- enough to look fit and athletic (which he is), but not bulky. His skin is a soft, lighter brown, patches of which are covered in freckles or moles. His face, shoulders, back, and chest are riddled with acne. His hair is black and fluffy, and he wears it in a grown-out mullet. He has thick brows, slightly slanted bright green eyes, a wide nose that's obviously broken, dimples on both his cheeks, and a slight gap between his upper front teeth. Sometimes he forgets to shave and ends up with patchy stubble. He often paints his nails, usually black or pink. His ears are pierced, and he usually wears black studs or small hoops (maybe because those are the only pairs of earrings he owns). He typically wears tank tops, t-shirts with stupid designs, hoodies, jeans, sweatpants, really just casual, comfortable clothing. He refuses to wear any shoes other than his stupid green velcro sneakers. He also really likes stupid fishing hats- the kind that are like 'women want me, men want me, fish want me' and 'women fear fish, me fear me'. Personality: Strengths & Weaknesses (optional): Backstory: Affiliations: Bonded to Oil, loves his moms very much. Others (including his sister) are open! :3 Other: (Animal Sheet) Name: Oil Age: 3 Gender: female Species: Domestic Housecat Thoughts on the Other Group?: couldn't care less. she doesn't remember her family, so she doesn't know if they're out there or not. Appearance: A black shorthair cat with green-gold eyes, a little smaller than average. Her fur's not quite sleek or shiny, but it isn't messy or unkempt, either. Nothing special to look at. The tip of her left ear is clipped, as she used to be feral and was TNR'ed (do people still do that after the war?). Personality: Sweet and cuddly, but has a mean side. Typically lets anybody pet her and/or pick her up, and will just wander up to people and rub against their legs. Likes being held (upside-down, specifically), and often drapes herself over Leo's shoulders. She's almost never seperated from him. She has a good sense for people with bad intentions (see mutations), though, and will attack them. Thankfully Leo cuts her claws, but those teeth are sharp. She'll also just bite people out of nowhere. She's a bit strange. She's also very vocal, and is good at communicating what she wants, getting people to follow her, etc. When communicating via telapathy to Leo, she has a high-pitched, slightly whiny voice. Mutation(s): Enhanced Senses- Oil can hear and smell better than the normal cat, and can pick up subtle changes in the body's electrochemistry, making it fairly easy for her to tell what people's emotions are, if they're sick or hurt, or basically anything a trained service dog can do. Strengths & Weaknesses: She's an excellent hunter, and very agile/athletic. Her mutations give her an advantage, especially with helping Leo navigate interactions. She's also a wonderful attack cat. Due to her small size, however, it's pretty easy to pick her up and manhandle her so she can't escape. She's also not very smart when it comes to cat traps. Since she's so loud, and is meowing almost all the time, she makes stealth nearly impossible, and is also just kind of annoying (Leo doesn't mind. Others might.). Backstory: Doesn't remember much before finding Leo. She just wandered into his house one day, jumped onto his lap, and that was it. She does remember roaming the streets as a stray, however, and doesn't want to go back to that life. Affiliations: Bonded to Leo, friendly with his moms.
