As you walk through the forest, you feel something off. The trees look different, as if one look would cause them to swallow you whole. There are no sounds, either. No birds, no branches rustling. Your ears ring, and you look around, panicking. In your distressed state, the only thing you can think of is to get back to the path.
Eventually, the path leads you to a valley drowned in darkness. One singular lantern burns ahead of you, illuminating a sign above:
"Welcome to Alpine Hills. Beware the creatures lurking beyond the safety of the town. Weary travelers find us easily, in hopes of shelter and warmth. But that shelter must be earned. The dangers that are within the Kaltain Forest are from another world entirely. Defeat these creatures, traveler, and we will give you unphathomable treasures."
"Help us. Please."

Hello and welcome! This is a DnD style RP that I made a long time ago, and I wanted to revamp it! There's no real goal to this RP, its just something you can do for fun! There will be art/adopts at some point, but for right now for some of the animals you will have to use your imagination. :)

1. Please be in character. This is an RP, not a conversation or interactive adopt. I will have a separate forum for talking and discussing, like a normal RP.
2. No anthro, human, or humanoid. This is specifically for animals, feral, mythical, any type.
3. Keep your responses PG. While some blood and gore stuff is fine, I'd like to keep it to a minimum
4. If you have any questions, PM me.
5. Feel free to give me suggestions and thoughts to make Alpine Hills better! (in disscusion thread)
6. Do NOT beg for items or more currency
7. Follow all the rules that Eve set out.

1. Currency. Once again, this is a RP (and possibly adopt). There is no payment and WILL be no actual payment for art when I add it. Because it is DnD style, there will be FAKE currency: gems. Each character starts out with 50 gems, and you can earn more by selling anything you find in the Kaltain Forest or Docks. Similarly, you can buy different items at the other shops, which will cost you. You can also earn gems by doing quests. THE ONLY MUSH ITEM IS IN THE CAMPING STORE
2. Handbooks. There are handbooks, yes. Healer, scout, monster hunter, potions master, and wanderer. They will NOT be written down, but once you buy one and "read" it, I will add specific stats to your character. (stats, items, and info about your character will be posted in the first post of the Inn/Camping Store)
3. Pets. You can have pets to follow you around and give you cool effects. There are NINE elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Metal, Death/Dark, Life/Light, and Stone. A pet is assigned one of these elements, each with its own effects based on species, element, and where they are found. There are also varients of these elements, which you will find out as you explore :)
You can sell and buy pets (Docks, Library, Inn/Bar, Blacksmith specifically), and you will also get a pet to start out with, all common with little effects, but they will help you on your quests! (Common elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind)
4. Monsters. Going along with pets, monsters are assigned one of 10 elements with its own effects. Monsters can be tamed, and once tamed will help you out on your journey. Monsters are hostile to you at first, whereas pets are not. This helps you distinguish which is which.
5. Items. You can buy and sell items to shopkeepers and other players, earning you gems (or costing you). Tools, weapons, potions, food, anything like that is considered an item.

Element: Water
Description: Minature dragon with spikes covering it's entire body. More barbs dot its wings, which helps it to defend itself in a fight
Special scales make light refract against it, which also blind attackers
+5 damage, +5 stealth, +5 efficiency
Metauru
Element: Earth
Description: Large wolf-like creature with long fangs, rarer varieties come with wings
It has a retractable barb in it's tail, which when injected releases a deadly toxin
+5 night vision, +5 damage, +5 strength
Coytyur
Element: Fire
Description: Smaller than the Metauru, but it's seven-foot wings make up for it. This wolf has minature horns and special fangs that contain something close to snake venom
+5 protection, +5 knowledge, +5 slow-falling
Telekari
Element: Wind
Description: A snake like creature that can somehow fly without wings. It has three tail that act as pincers, which makes it easy to grab enemies and bring them closer to it's inpenetrable jaw
+5 damage, +5 spirituality, +5 health
