=SPRITZY=

(meaning: light/effervescent; lightly sparkling wine)

" Sprits-zee "

Nicknames: Spritz, Sprite, Little spark, Sparkie

Age: 3 years 6 months

Gender: Female

Breed: Mix of about 75% Samoyed, 25% Canadian Inuit dog

Role: Team dog

· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·

Appearance:

As bright and as bubbly as her name, Spritzy is not the biggest sled dog around but she can more than make up for it with the energy and enthusiasm she carries in her bones. Shorter and stocky with a cheerful bounce to her step, she is a true medium-sized 50cm or so at the shoulder and built with the capability to fill a nice little range of niches. Versatility is certainly what she has been bred for, both when it comes to sledding and the off seasons. She can keep high on her toes for something requiring the sharpest agility, or else slam on the speed to keep up with some of the faster dogs. Even when her stamina runs low she always pushes herself forward, step by step, determined paw by determined paw. And very often those seemingly dainty paws are else seen guiding her on peaceful little trots around her den, tail a-waving- she's quite a pacer but rarely in a stressful manner. Her paws just never seem to stop moving. It's not easy to get her to stop and drop. Aside from the obvious benefits and detriments to her health, it does mean she's in quality shape... Not that it's easy to tell due to her thick and heavy fur.

Much like Spritzy's personality there is a hidden blaze to her hidden just below the surface - a soft glowing amber deep in her swathe of crystaline white fur. Though her lineage means the snowy white of her coat dominates her figure, when she sheds (and man does she shed) in the spring season a more peach or creme tone takes prominence throughout. Her coat is plenty long and warm (even by sled dog standards), with gentle waves and pockets of messy fluff on the crests of her limbs. Meanwhile her tail is very often a blurry creature of it's own, resting across her back in a curled swoop so common in her breeds' ancestry. A charmingly cute spitz, this young lady carries herself with a friendly poise, never exaggerating her emotions beside that ever moving tail; Spritzy's compact figure is no less warm and inviting than her wide and Samoyed characteristic grin - she's always up to huddle close together with a close pal. That's one of the rare occasions she'll lay sill, if even only for a minute before she's up again to investigate an interesting noise.

With her starry sammy smile, it's hard to view Spritzy as anything less than a cheerfully friendly little creature. At first at least, she's charming as any other - all big brown eyes and eager play bows. Her ears perk in a neat triangle, swivelling to whatever she's caught the noise of and... in a series of high pitched yips and barks, she's off to worry at the intrusion. Spritzy can be almost annoyingly vocal, her energy converted to howls and chatterings and grumbles when she can't get that overflowing energy out into her limbs. Maybe it's for the best when she keeps to quieter pacing. It's certainly a preference of most others. Despite her vocalisations being a tad on the more annoying side, she's actually got quite a pleasant speaking tone, clear and subtly soft. There's a sense of genuine interest to her words, it's nigh impossible to interpret her speech as if she were bored. When talking to others she always does her best to ensure she does so with the same eagerness she puts into any kind of work, and often succeeds with all the genuity she possess.

(Did I spend several hours trying to draw her instead of writing... maaaaybe. Oops)

Personality:

Largely easygoing | A temper that can go from easy breezy to blazes of hell in minutes | Always on the go | No break button | Doesn't believe in 'no' or the concept of 'impossible'

It's surprisingly common for Spritzy to be mistaken for a younger pup, not wholely for her size, but rather for her relentless streams of energy and playful behaviour. She's got stamina for days and can outlast even the steadiest, bulkiest dogs around if she puts her mind to it. Fortunately for them, she doesn't have a true competitive bone in her body - at least not one that relies on a challenge between her and another; Spritz is interested in others and what drives them, but she doesn't feel the need to relate to or challenge them. Her friendship can be teasing and pesky at times, but she rarely digs in deep when it comes to others' more complex feelings... She'll happily lend an ear and a sympathetic poke of her paw, but if you need a true problem solver it's better to look elsewhere. She's hardly the smartest, particularly when it comes to pups who aren't herself. Putting yourself in someone else's booties just isn't her style.

For the most part Spritzy is a cool as the winter breeze - or uh, as untamed and unpredictable. And potentially bothersome. When free to wander to her hearts content she can work herself into quite the whirlwind, a one pup blizzard of endless energy and curiousity and joy. It's not even the exploring and finding interesting things that gets her, it's the putting her body into motion; her nose to the ground and sprinting across the dirt and snow. Feeling the adrenaline coursing through her limbs; warm blood through her veins. Simply moving brings her a substantial bit of joy, but she'll never turn down more. In the yard she's always down to chase and play, giddy as a pup, and doesn't care for anyone's distaste at it. If they no longer render joy from something as simple as zooming around with some friends, then that is their loss. She's got the energy to spare for a good old game of tag.

The unfortunate truth is Spritzy isn't as effortlessly unbothered and as chill as she would hope. She picks up on emotions painfully well, and, when in lesser ideal moods herself it's not unknown for her to return the foul emotion right back tenfold. Perhaps even if another dog meant no harm. When she's out of energy she crashes hard, which is often right along with her packmates - all exhausted enough themselves - so steer clear of this frustrated fur ball or else you might get nipped. Spritz's anger isn't calculated or even managed well at all, if she's genuinely pissed she'll be as aggressive and as nasty as she feels fit... Sometimes taking things far too far. It can be quite frightening to experience for the first time, just how quickly she'll snap. Bouncing back takes a moment, a couple of days of embarrassed and stressed pacing, then hopefully things will go back to normal. She's got a fair bit of pride and confidence, so anything that genuinely damages that will get her seriously uncomfortable. However she does find value in her friendship with others, and would hate to see those good friendships wasted, so it's not uncommon to hear a barrages of sorries when her desperation for companionship finally overcomes her little stubborn streak.

Genuinely though Spritzy is a good natured girl with at the very least a gold trimmed heart. She's happy to play a trouble maker when things are easy going, but loyalty overrides all: when the going gets tougher she'll put everything into keeping her group safe and happy. With her pleasant demeanour and upbeat attitude she hopes to keep general morale up, and for the most part is fairly optimistic -if she were to ever truly loose hope it might actually be the end for her friends... But can't or don't or not or "NO" are words she'd rather not listen to, so no hope? Would never happen. She'd figure something out if it ever came to that: she may not the smartest but she's far from stupid.

Strengths:

Horrifying levels of energy and stamina

Would get along with anyone who will let her

Versatile - hunting ✓ sledding ✓ digging ✓ guarding... mmm perhaps not (she'd be too friendly with the intruder)

A subtle charmer at first, saving her nore annoying traits for after she's wormed her way into your good books

Weaknesses:

Refuses to believe others could possibly 'not like her'

Potentially annoying as hell; a little tiny bit immature sometimes

HATES water on her fur or feet or face or tail or toes or nose or whiskers

Struggles greatly in warmer weather and moments of higher stress

Mate: Nope

Crush: TBA

Pups: Nope

Kin: Looking to give her an older sibling (half-sibling?) or something like an older cousin/uncle/aunt ect. Highly willing to adjust her breed as appropriate ^^

Other: Spaniels are the cutest pups around in my humble (and totally unbiased) opinion.

Done!
