Lost Memories' Survivors RP | Lit

Name: Cai Argus Caerwyn

rejoice-bright-love

Nickname(s): None for now

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Mono/Poly/Ambi/None: Mono

Group: 1

---

Appearance:

Although Cai is eurasian, he takes after his mother’s asian genetics as they usually are the dominate trait. He stands at the average height of five feet and nine and a half inches and weighs a healthy 163 pounds. He is built rectangularly, his shoulders aren’t machine guns nor are they water pistols. Rather, they are mediocre like a bb gun—hurts to get hit but not fatal the first round. He has little to no hips which becomes a problem when it comes with pants. He will always have to wear a belt to keep his jeans up, if not it’s a constant pain (and a huge embarrassment) to keep on pulling up your britches when on the move.

His skin is similar to a heavily creamed cup of coffee and is porous. His oval face is marked by acne and is scarred by it on his cheeks. It is smooth-faced and clean-cut. His almond eyes are a deep, cocoa bean brown that resembles dark chocolate kisses at times. He is a carrier for blue eyes however, if that counts for anything. In around the middle of his face is a concave and flat nose and below that are thin, pale pink-grey colored lips. Above his eyes are thin dark brown eyebrows that are bushy. On top of his head is a mess of dark, dark brown hair. It is thick, shoulder-length and usually kept up in a ponytail or bun.

He has scars like most everyone. A majority are light scratches from briars that appeared from running through the wild forest sleeveless; some are the previously mentioned acne scarring. He does have a couple others, one is a mark on his left shoulder and another is a long mark down his leg. He was unaware when he got both of them. They just sorta happened. Nor does he try to figure it out, mainly because he doesn’t care enough.

He does have a couple unique physical qualities. Unique is an interesting way of putting it, as it is really actually both a gift and a curse. His first quality is that his left eye is blind and is actually a realistic prosthetic. In fact the natural one had been taken out due to retinoblastoma, a cancer, located in his left eye. They had caught it early in its progression and were able to remove it but weren’t able to save the eye. They did save a portion of the lateral rectus (the muscle that moves the eye) so it does have (very) limited movement. This is a gift by two ways, you can tell a lot of jokes about it and it helps block the sun and unwanted pictures. His second quality is that he was born with Erb’s Palsy. His family was too poor to get it fixed. So, his muscles are bunched up in his shoulder and arm but is incredibly weak. From his elbow down, the arm is crookedly facing towards the right rather than being straight and flexible like most arms. This is never a gift, but is really a pain as he can barely raise it higher than half an inch over his head without help. (If we use the plot: He is only here because scientists like to have variables in among the constants.)

You’ll find him in a cotton, long sleeved green shirt and blue jeans. Either farmer’s work boots or tennis shoes, they are always closed-toed. He always has a leather belt around him too. On his right arm is an armguard and on his left hand is a three-fingered leather glove. He carries a watch on his left arm.

Personality:

•Good Natured •Insecure •Learner •Resilient •Hopeful •Caring •Peaceful •Vengeful •Introvert •Lazy •Dutiful •Anxious

Cai is relatively a good natured person who can take a joke. He loves jokes, but can’t tell very good ones. Usually they come off cringe worthy. He knows this and tries not to tell any, but sometimes it’s kinda hard. He is insecure about somethings but never about his disabilities because you can’t live if you are ashamed by something you cannot escape. Especially in these times, every moment could be your last and he will not die hating his body. What he is insecure about is how he can help his group. He has high doubts that he can actually assist them and their survival because he feels incapable. When he was younger, pre-apocalypse, he spent an excessive amount of time on pointless research about the Titanic and other random facts. He has little knowledge on most survival tips, but he relies on what he saw on TV, read in books and his own common sense. He can only hope it is enough to keep the team alive.

He is resilient and maybe this just comes with his youth. But he does have a strong will to live, but not at the risk of those he cares about. To them, he would give up anything for them and for their own good. He absolutely would die for them if he could. He is hopeful as well and believes that the human race will and can work things out and will thrive once more. However, this hope is challenged often as the day-to-day affairs of life usually don’t show any signs of this happening. He tries to fight this gloom-and-doom and it’s a coin toss each day whether he succeeds.

He is peaceful and rather similar to what you would think about a gardener. However, even the gentlest creature will bite you when prodded enough. For him, his prod is when someone he cherishes is murdered. He will revenge them by any means or at least live only to spite the person. He believes that suicide is never the answer, no matter how hard things get. Life just wants to make things hard so you’ll break, don’t give it the satisfaction that it won. Besides, there is always something to live for, whether for yourself, for a friend, for a memory even, or to irritate the stew out of someone.

He is an introvert and will take moments just to be by himself. He won’t wonder far, but enough for him to have some “me time” because really outgoing, lively, people drain him. He enjoys his rest and often the night disappears in a flash. He’s the person who’d sleep past noon if possible. He can be lazy at times and doesn’t want to work, but will have enough will power to keep on going despite his wants.

-Archery

-Jokes

-Peace

-The Titanic

-Random facts

-Books

Dislikes:

-Cold

-Loud Noises

-Being Tired

-Heights

-Being wet

-Suffering

Strengths:

Archery: He’s been on the 4-H team ever since he was nine. He shoots recurve almost flawlessly at 50 meters. Any further and his aim gets a bit off, usually he hits at least the blue at 60 but any further it’s more and more off.

Loyalty: He loves you, he loves you not, he loves you! Congrats! He’ll now sacrifice everything for your wellbeing.

Endurance: He has a good endurance whether walking or running.

Weaknesses:

Hand-to-hand combat: He’s much better from afar. He isn’t trained in any sparring or wrestling. He can’t throw a proper punch, especially with his left hand. He’ll bite, claw, kick, scream but you’ll most likely bring him down.

Anxious: This guy is anxious a lot of times, a lot is happening and he can’t control it all. Often he feels helpless.

Acceleration: He has a below average acceleration. It seems like he takes forever and that he’s gonna die by the thing chasing him. Somehow he doesn’t.

31 Arrows (some carbon and some wood)

1 Leather quiver

1 Leather armguard

2 leather gloves

just some modern werewolf teen that is actual a mush of Char and Hera

Name: Jeffery Constant Hugh

Nickname: Con (he goes by his middle name; his other names are too human)

Role: Student

Grade: 10

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Species: Werewolf

Appearance:

As A Human:

Con is a thin, rectangular boy who currently stands a short 5 feet and 2 inches. He weighs a health 118 lb. His thick, but wild hair is a raven black that shines blue whenever light reflects off of it. His oily skin is extremely tan as he's usually outside. But it is oily and his face is scarred by acne. Under his thin eyebrows are pale blue, upturned eyes that sometimes looks silver. They turn more and more silver as the full moon approaches. His round face shape is speckled with a small about of freckles on his cheeks and nose. His nose is small and it pokes out of her face like a swallow’s. His feet are wide spread like a frog’s and her fingers are long but her fingernails are clipped short.

Around his neck is a thin strand of twine that has a silver metal crescent moon hanging off of it. This was his mother’s, given to her by himself and his father for her birthday before she died in a car accident. He now lives in a small apartment with his father in the dirtier streets of town. They are not his birth parents, however, and do not carry the werewolf genes. His birth mother died during labor and his father had abandoned them. He had been adopted by the Hughs before his first turn. Once they learned about his species, they accepted it, but kept his human name.

He can be seen in a solid black hoodie that seems to be a size or two too big. He usually wears a plain white, short sleeved shirt and jeans. His shoes are old, worn down tennis shoes that he shares with his dad every know and then. When he's not in them, he's in a pair of almost-too-small sneakers.

As A Wolf:

He is definitely on the small side and a light weight; he weighs a wimpy 80lb, stands a stocky 26 inches to his withers and is 5 feet long. Also his smaller stature plus is fluffy coat makes him look like a stuffed animal sometimes. But his size isn’t quite a disability as he is faster despite his shorter legs. He also can cut corners better, but he does lack bulk, muscle and pretty much anything that would help bring down a moose. But he’s fast, so that counts for something, right?

His fur is shaggy and he’s hairier than most wolves which causes a problem on warm summer nights, especially since he is coal black. Because of his long coat, it catches burs and often gets knotted. Sometimes brambles catch onto his fluff and pulls it out. He usually doesn’t notice this. His eyes turn complete silver. His legs are stocky and thicker comparing to his comrades. His ears are proportionate to his body, snout and tail. His teeth look white, but only because it is being compared to his dark coat. His thick coat helps as protection during a fight, not very much but a bit more (like 2% more). However it also hinders because it warms him while he’s fighting, where he’s already burning up from the kinetic energy.

Personality:

•Reluctant •Fearful •Easily Effected by People •Cautious •Crowd Follower •Scared of the Dark •Insecure •Fair •Compassionate •Courageous •Giving •Vengeful •Dangerous •Spiteful •Calm •Gentle

Con is fearful of the unknown and of the dark. Funny because werewolves are often thought to be dwellers of the shadows. He has been ever since he was little. He will show courage through his fear when he has been motivated by others or by his actual self will. He is reluctant to change even though it is for the better. He is easily effected by other people and will pick up on their habits and sometimes even personality traits.People can inspire him to do things he would’ve never done on his own as he is a rather cautious individual. He also experiences peer pressure and will follow the crowd unless he is scared or feels inclined otherwise.

He is insecure in almost everything he does, but is confident in his own thoughts and mind. He is fair and compassionate to others and will help those weaker than him or the rest of the group. He pities everything whether it is the dying grass or a dying child. He wants to help and will try his best. However, the moon has a dark side and he is vengeful. He will avenge his family and his friends in a wrath and anger beyond his own wildest thought about what he is capable of. He will wreak havoc until calmed down or his victim is dead. He is willing to kill but doesn’t know it yet. He can be cruel to his enemies and will serve them to what he believes is justice for their crimes.

Likes:

The outdoors and what they possess

Snow

Fire

Dislikes:

Liars/Cheats

Injustice

His own weak fears

Strengths:

Compassion-his sympathy for others is strong

Speed-he is built more for speed and will use it

Animals-animals naturally like him, probably because she is a calm person who doesn’t get up in their faces

Weaknesses:

Fearful-he is scared of many things including people, shadows, the unknown and sometimes even himself

Strength-he lacks brute strength

Green Thumb-he kills all the plants he tries to grow

Crush: Open

Kin: Open

Orginally going to be a pirate in my first RP, didn't make the cut.

link: https://wolfplaygame.com/forums.php?f=28&t=77143 | Semi lit

Name: Jonathan Snow

Nickname(s): Nat, Nate (usually goes by one of these)

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Pronouns: He, Him, Himself

Pirate or Bounty Hunter: Pirate

Which port do you start at, at the beginning? Add reason why they are there. Paradon Port, Nat grew up there and feels a small sense of security by the familiarity.

What crimes have they committed if any? Why? Piracy and all the crimes that follow under that. Why? He didn’t want to stay a fisherman’s son and live a lifeless life and die a pointless death. He wanted to have an effect society.

How long have you been a pirate? He packed his bags when he was nineteen, so for five years by now.

Personality:

•Adventurous •Impatient •Reckless •Selfish •Self-Preservation •Liar •Irritating •Learns •Carefree •Indifferent • Dangerous •Optimist •Regretful •Naturally sympathetic •Twisted Optimist

Nat is an adventurous individual who found his small, insignificant life as a fisherman’s son unsatisfying. So he left, of course. He wants to be meaningful to the country whether for its better or worse. Being accepted into the navy would take too long for this impatient person. He took the easy route and signed himself up into piracy. This profession required exactly what he possessed; a reckless spirit, a stomach for the sea, a selfishness ambition and a sense of self-preservation.

Nat is a liar who loves to irritate his peers and sometimes his superiors. He can push their buttons too much so he gets a punishment, but this is rare as he has learned from past mistakes. He is not scared of threats and the prospects of death. Death is a frequent dance partner of his. However, he is effected by pain but tries to hide this fear. He learns the best by pain, whether by his own or by other’s.

Nat takes joy in living dangerously. He cannot stand being cornered however, figuratively and physically as he is claustrophobic. He does not like being ordered around and had a rough relationship with their dead captain. He prefers to be responsibility-less and carefree. Is he irresponsible? Kind of, he can be responsible for small things, but not too small. If it seems too little then he’ll just flat out forget. But if it is too big then he gets discouraged and will procrastinate until it’s too late. A medium issue, like a pet or another human, he can deal with easily.

Nat has compassion towards the weaker man but he isn’t scared to draw blood. He does regret what he does and tries to surpress his sympathy to those in pain. He fears torture and pain. Yet, he will kill, he has done it multiple times and will continue to do it. Everyone he kills, however, dies fast and quick. He isn’t completely heartless nor is he good. He likes to say he’s neutral but to be grey means you can easily be effected and right now he’s a storm cloud. He does care for people, his family, his current girl, a friend or two but not much else, however.

Nat is a twisted optimist. He can make death seem like a dreamland although he doesn’t believe that. He fears Davy Jones’ locker and knows that that is where he’s headed yet he is stiff against amending his ways. He likes to look forward into the future and likes to bury the past. Sometimes with a cool drink. Rum is popular so he usually drinks that and occasionally some wine for a change. He easily gets drunk and will pass out after maybe three glasses. Does it work? No, it never works but it’s easier than trying to make amends. He does regret killing, but his self-preservation instincts claim him more than any remorse.

Appearance:

Nat is shaped strong in the arms and back from years of labor, plus he’s thickly built. He is tan from the sun and a little bit burnt on his nose. He has a handsome, smooth oval face. Thick, arching eye brows are above his deep set, round eyes are a fitting ocean blue. His light blond hair is shoulder length and tied in the back by ribbon. His complexion is toward the drier side and naturally he looks quite fetching. However, a pirate brand smack dab in the center of his forehead ruins his attractive features, that and his height as he stands barely 5 feet and 7 inches. He has an ugly scarred back from lashes when he talked smack to the captain. Across his European nose is a white scar that he received from a duel that he barely survived. His wrists and ankles are thin, bruised, cut, worn and sore from shackles that clapped around them not so long ago.

Nat wears a bandana around his head at all times to cover up his brand. He would also fancy bracelets around his wrists if they didn’t get in the way of work. So instead he dresses in a long-sleeved, once-white, cotton poet shirt. His left ear is pierced with a golden earring that would pay for his funeral if he so happened to die. He stole this from his mother’s jewelry box before he left. His brown pants are long and kinda baggy. His hat is a tricorn as it was designed to evade water from the face whenever it rains. He wears a dull, sun-bleached blue scarf around his waist as this helps absorb his sweat while he works. His boots are one of the nicest things he owns, second to his earring, as they are black cavalier boots. He stole them from the first man he killed. These boots were designed to prevent water from entering the shoe, keeping the feet dry. Unfortunately his are worn and he’s in desperate need of a new pair.

Strengths:

-Accuracy, he owns a revolver who has never failed him

-Cooking, he can cook a mighty fine meal if he has the supplies

-Balance, he’s nimble like a cat

Weaknesses:

-Swimming, he can’t swim despite he’s a pirate

-Selfish, he’s a self-centered jerk

-Endurance, he can walk a decent amount per day but he has horrible running endurance

Likes (optional):

-Living life to the fullest

-The water

-Freedom

Dislikes (optional):

-Pain

-The simple life

-Fate

Weapons (look back at rules to see limits):

Revolver: Nat carries an illegal revolver with him, so what, he’s already a criminal and you can only die once.

Rapier: He also wears a traditional rapier with him that he shoves in his belt as he lacks the sheath. It’s getting rusty.

Knife: He carries three throwing knives with him. He rarely uses them and unfortunately they aren’t great at cutting ropes.

Affiliations:

-bad relationship with the captain and second mate

-The crew…

Family:

Father: Eric Snow-taught him everything he could

Mother: Raven Snow-just a caretaker

Brother: Kestrel Snow-annoying, perfect little brother

History (optional):

My Pirate vs Bounty Hunters RP| Semi-lit

Name: Derwin Callister

Aliase(s): Ivor Murphy

Nickname(s): None

Gender: Male

Age: 56

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Pronouns: He/Him

Pirate or Bounty Hunter: Pirate

Which port do you start at, at the beginning? Add reason why they are there. Paradon Port, after abandoning the trade of a pirate, he went to dwell there to escape society; turn a new leaf. Unfortunately the past always haunts you.

What crimes have they committed if any? Why? Piracy, murder, arson and more. Each and every crime makes him regret everything he did in his life.

How long have you been a pirate/bounty hunter? He became a pirate at the age of 24—young and dumb—he grew a conscience around 35 years, but he didn’t retire from the trade until he was 39; old habits die hard. He’s been in hiding ever since.

Personality:

•Stiff •Wistful •Private •Moral •Intelligent •Scared of Dying •Easily embarrassed •Prideful •Loyal(ish) •Sarcastic •Headstrong •”Golden Rule” •Curious •Deductive •Pessimistic •Candid •Untruthful •Secretive •Suspicious •Persistent •Has a temper •Musical •

When he was young, he was cunning, adventurous and reckless like any unruly youth. Nowadays he’s more stiff and wistful. He keeps to himself and shuts other people out. He isn’t religious, but he has morals. His past was everything against those morals and he regrets everything. Now, he is still smart and he is wiser to the world rather than he was in the old mischievous days. Every now-and-then he does something unexpected, but it’s nothing large enough to cause attention. He still enjoys thrills of danger, but he receives them from any books he could find. He has officially retired.

He heard of the hunting of all pirates and he decided to stay quiet, but when piracy became scarce he realized that he couldn’t linger in Carda. He carries a pirate brand on his forehead which he had received in his thirties. If he didn’t have that marked into his skin, he would stay. His moral code tells him that he should stay and pay for his sins like a good man. But he’s scared to die. He doesn’t want to die for his past’s mistakes and certainly not in a public spectacle that the bounty hunters’ would surely make. He is easily embarrassed and prideful. He is not treacherous though, and is considerably loyal to people. People, not countries. People usually don’t change a lot and countries are given and taken.

He is also sarcastic and headstrong; he will spit in your eye with no regrets, too. He lives off of the golden rule in his older age, but won’t tell you that because he doesn’t want your spit in his eyes. He believes that he has a right to shuffle in your bag if you search in his. He can be curious, but he tries not to out-right ask his question; he prefers to find out by deduction. His deduction has saved his life several times in his past, a trait that he treasures. He can be pessimistic and bluntly candid, but also secretive, untruthful and untrusting. The way he reveals that he more than tolerates—or even likes—you is by playful teasing and being more settled, you can feel it.

He does have a temper which flares whenever he feels stressed, worn-out or attacked. It is the reason for a majority of the times that he has been reckless in his older age. He has been known to throw things and pitch a wild fit whenever in a rage. Liquor seems to fuel the coals of his anger, so it is best to hide alcohol from him. He hasn’t tasted any in a long time, but there is a chance for him to during his travels. One shot can lead him down to more until he passes out. He knows this, so he tries to stay away from the bottle but he, like all humans, can fall into the trap of temptation.

He is actually very musical and in his retirement he’s learned a couple, what he calls “land-lubber”, songs. He has a decent baritone voice and knows a few cords on the guitar. He will whistle when alone, but sometimes he’ll start unconsciously and purely out of habit. Whenever the crew would have a few plays for entertainment, he was usually apart of them all. He’d act as himself singing a pirate song while being prepared for his hanging. He was at home on the trusty Royal Murre and would make it a comedy routine. In his solitude, his majority of trust evaporated as he was surrounded by strangers. He didn’t want to become friends with any in case they questioned his accent. He’s tried to get rid of it, but he can’t shake it as if his voice was also branded when his forehead was.

Appearance:

Derwin stands at 5’ 11” and weighs a balanced weight of 167 lb. His torso is built rectangularly and his legs are toned, but naturally lean as he has an ectomorph body type. He does have a bit of a gut around his middle, but it isn’t excessive. On his forehead is a “P” engraved in his skin that is usually covered up by a bandana and then a hat. He never leaves home without his grey bandana and ancient brown leather hat.

His once black hair has now faded into a grizzled grey. There are lighter spots and darker spots patched and layered in his unruly, wavy, should-length hair, which is parted in the middle and then tied in the back by a dirty, cream ribbon. He has a beard too which is curly at the tips. It goes down to his shoulder and is rather tangled and not groomed. He does make sure that it doesn’t grow too long or else he’ll look ridiculous, the same goes for his head-hair. His eyebrows are bushy, thick and they protrude over his almond-shaped blue-grey eyes. There are bags under them with wrinkles and creases on his forehead and around his eyes. His nose is a bit bigger than average; long but rounded at the end. His lips are covered by his beard, but they are thin and barely present even if he did shave.

His tan skin carries sunspots and old, faded tattoos. One is of the ship he once sailed, The Royal Murre. The large, extravagant ship was etched onto his left shoulder. Wrapped around that same arm was a serpent who held a small dagger in its fanged mouth. On his right wrist there are the words “till the end” printed on.

In his pirate life he dressed in a long-sleeved, once-white, cotton poet shirt. His left ear was pierced with a golden earring that would pay for his funeral if he so happened to die. He had stolen this from some royal he killed long ago. His brown pants were long and kinda baggy. His hat a tricorn, as it was designed to evade water from the face whenever it rains. He wore a dull, sun-bleached blue scarf around his waist as this helped absorb his sweat while he worked. His boots were black cavalier boots. He stole them from the first man he killed. These boots were designed to prevent water from entering the shoe, keeping the feet dry.

Nowadays he still wears a once-white, cotton poet shirt. He keeps his old earring in a drawer and his scarf on a hook. He does still use his tricorn because of its good use. His pants are still brown and baggy. His shirt and pants are usually covered up by a leather apron as he works as a carpenter to keep an income. His shoes are not cavalier boots but rather simple, everyday thick leather work boots. In the past, he would make out some wooden clogs, but they were never comfortable so he gave up that attempt as it was a waste of wood.

Strengths:

Intelligent—Derwin is smart and he has a strong sense of self-preservation.

Aim—He is a decent shot, despite not shooting his illegal revolver in a decade.

Persistent—He may be old, but age has nothing to do with self-will.

Performance—He can sing and act decently, but this only appears when he is at home

Weaknesses:

Anger—His hot-head can make his judgements faulty as it is also accompanied by pride

Swimming—He can’t swim despite his time surrounded by water

Heat—He has little tolerance for it and will melt in its thickening rays of death.

Accent—He’ll always carry the voice of a pirate

Likes (optional):

-Sugar, he has a sweet tooth but can’t handle anything spicy

-Songs, he’s always liked them and will sing along to the ones he knows

-Salty air, he loves to breath in the seaside air because it reminds him of home.

-Cats, he is a firm believer that they are lucky

Dislikes (optional):

-Dogs, damn things always seem to be against him. Their loud, noisy and hairy as all get out.

-Death, for one, he is scared of it, for two, who does like it?

-Dry things, food doesn’t taste good dried, land doesn’t look good dried, life isn’t fun being just dry. In his book, the only thing that is good dried is crackers.

-Children, they suck. They’re whiny, sticky and stinky brats. Their only use is to carry out the human race and do some cleaning.

Weapons (look back at rules to see limits):

Revolver: Derwin owns an illegal revolver. He’s already a criminal and you can only die once.

Rapier: He also owns a traditional rapier with him that he carries in his belt as he lacks the sheath. It’s getting rusty.

Knife: He carries three throwing knives with him. He rarely uses them and unfortunately they aren’t great at cutting ropes.

Affiliations: PM me/we’ll figure something out in discussions

Family:

Father (probably deceased): unknown

Mother (deceased): Charity Callister

Became pregnant when she was 28 years old. She was a good-looking woman who appeared younger than what she actually was. She died at the age of 50 from disease and a weak heart.

History:

After his mother died when he was 22, he didn’t need to stick around anymore to support her. So he followed his dream to enlist in Carda’s navy and his service lasted only two years. Their ship, Riverdance, was boarded by pirates and all the sailors were asked to join them, if they refused then they were killed immediately after. Derwin, who is scared to die, was the first to join the pirates. Only four others followed his example.

It was his new home, the pirate ship Exceeder, that overran Intrepid—now named Royal Murre, which became Derwin’s settled home for the next fifteen years. As the years slipped by, he saw victory and loss; friends coming and going; crew mates breathing their last. When Captain Bewr left for Sulva, Derwin was thirty-two and had recently received his pirate brand. He had been captured after an unsuccessful attempt to rescue the last surviving mate, besides himself, of Exceeder. It didn’t work out and they were hung as he was branded. The night after that he was rescued.

A lot happened afterwards, enough to grow a conscience. He struggled in this war of right and wrong for four years and finally when he was thirty-nine he quit piracy because he couldn’t stand killing anymore. It hit him when he was about to behead a woman with child and she cried out. He had killed women, girls and children before, but this time it was different. This woman had no husband and she had no home. She was beautiful and full of fear. There was a way her nose was positioned that reminded him of his mother. Then he remembered his history, his past that he had almost forgotten entirely. A thunderbolt hit him and put away his sword. He told her to run from the city and then he himself fled.

He ran to Paradon Port, the only port he had never been. He would start a new leaf and never touch a boat again. Crew mates thought he was dead but they didn’t find a body. There were no noise about town of a pirate being executed either. It was as if he had disappeared which was exactly what he wanted. He chose a new name which was Ivor Murphy. So here he is, and he’s remained there ever since then for seventeen years until now.

Plague Doctor's Tales of Leavalon RP | Semi lit to Lit

Name:
Gavin Matthias Carline

Nicknames (optional): none for now

Code Name: Legion

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Rank: Senior-Knight

Wanted Rank: Content

Where your loyalty is towards now?:

Gavin trusts his fellow knights who entered the black mist with him. Despite the code that he swore to keep, he lost all confidence in his country during the experimenting. They told him that they’d be able to serve better, but the pain of the experiments was a sign of betrayal to a him, a knight who was only faithful. But he wholeheartedly trusts his squad, especially since they battled through the horrid experiences together. Plus, a country can change a lot in a hundred years.

Appearance:

Gavin stands at five feet and ten inches. He has a lanky, long build to him, but he does have some (but limited) meat on those bones. He is built broader in his shoulders with just slightly smaller hips, making his torso a weird trapezoidal shape. His arms and legs are wiry and scrawny looking, but this man will give you a run for your money.

He owns a long, lean, oval face, covered with small freckles—especially on his nose. These were not genetic, however, but rather from spending too much time in the sun. His jawbones are not defined but are not hidden completely away with fat and skin. Rather, he is in the middle. He has downturned eyes which gives him a wistful or faraway look about him at first glance. However, you can see all sorts of emotion spring behind his dark, deep coffee-brown eyes. He is very expressive and his light haired, thin eyebrows will do jumping jacks all up and down his forehead. He has deep, rich, honey-colored hair, but not the light summery shade, rather the dim, thick, slightly mahogany coloring. Or in other words, he has dark brown hair that has a slight warm color to it. His unruly, wavy hair hangs down to about his chin which sometimes gives him a similar look to the Irish Setter, especially with his long, yet rounded nose. He keeps it, however, in a ponytail.

He has several scars, but only one on his face. This was his first scar during an unsupervised dual set up by the other squires of his class. It was him versus a boy who had teased him about his family’s background and history. While he received a single scar running from the top of the right side of his forehead, down to his temple, the other boy returned to his dorm covered in cuts and bruises. Other scars are from battle, a notable one is an ugly scar running down his left calf leg. He also has scars from the experimentation. Small puncture marks are on his arms, but they can only be defined correctly by studious about of staring. They seem like odd freckles or tattoos instead. He also has a small cut on each arm, almost symmetrical, from when they drew blood.

Personality:

•Unforgiving •Protective •Murderous •Quick-tempered •Impatient •Nurturing •Sacrificial •Expressive •Musical •Emotional •Prideful

Gavin holds grudges and will rarely forgive an enemy. He despises betrayers and cowards and will not try his best not to associate himself among them. He is protective of his family which is now his squad given that his family is now dead. He will defend them with a fiery passion and will kill the offenders unless stopped. He can be quick-tempered and will try to hold some form of patience and kindness for the annoying person’s sake. He doesn’t like people who drag out stories or stutter constantly. Just get to the point already! He will participate in some small talk, but not excessive. He doesn’t like it when people skip around subjects, just keep with one and we’ll talk about it for a while.

Despite his outer appearance and no-nonsense personality, he is an old softie for creatures. He has a nurturing heart for when they are helpless and will do all he can in his power to help them. He has cared intently to different animals of all kinds; most of his experience is in farm animals, however. While he has little patience for people, he has more for critters. He will raise his voice when one won’t come to him when he means to help them, but will instantly soften his voice and apologize. He will take the time to train them and has dedicated a good portion of his life to them. He prefers their company over man’s because he’s both an introvert and they don’t judge you cruelly. Because equine were present during the battle of the black fog, he is a bit nervous and cautious of them now.

He is very loving towards his family. His love language is quality time and gifts. He will tend to them carefully and this is where you will see him the most lively. As his trust will be gained more in the squad, more of his teasing nature will pop out. He will still be hot-headed and his protectiveness strengthens. This carries on to sacrifice for them. When he gets betrayed, it burns like a branding iron pressed on tender skin because to be betrayed means that you had to have trust first. And with trust is a portion of love. He can’t control who he loves no matter how hard he tried in the past, so he doesn’t distance himself as he used to. He’s learned that it doesn’t work like that, so he doesn’t bother with it anymore. If it’s broke, fix it.

He is actually very musical and he can carry out a decent tune. He has a fine baritone voice that he used to sing soft lullabies to his children before the war. He’s also been known to play some simple songs on a gittern. He is expressive and emotional. Sometimes his emotions take over and he does things he later regrets, but he tries to make sure he doesn’t live with it. You can’t life in the present if you live in the past. A less talk and more action type of guy.

Gavin found the experimentations a betrayal because of the pain. (I imagined the experiments being kind of dystopian-styled.) He hated the way he was treated and he was prodded around like a sick hamster, kind of a pride issue here. He didn't like how he was treated afterwards. He was a senior-knight and was treated like a child learning how to read and write--being taught by people who didn't know what to do or how to help either.

Griffin's Name: Beckett (nicknamed “Beck”)

Weapon(s):

Takedown Recurve Bow: Gavin prefers a distance weapon, that way he can’t see the life drain out of a person. He doesn’t like crossbows because they are ungraceful. The small, portable, pistol crossbows require a too-close range for a comfortable shot. Instead he uses a takedown recurve bow. It’s more portable than a longbow and he isn’t trained in how to use a horsebow. The limbs are strong enough for him to be standing 80 meters away and hit his target. He’s a good shot and pulls 70 lb.

Bastard Sword: However, he does need a melee weapon and so he also wields a bastard sword. This weapon is a one and a half sword. It can be used by one hand, but it takes special training and Gavin didn’t enroll in that. He uses it with two hands. It is mainly used for cutting and slicing. He doesn’t like to use it because it is messy, but it does the job and keeps him alive.

Two Knives: He has two concealed knives that he rarely uses. It is only there as a last resort.

Family (optional):

Everyone is dead because we are now 100 years in the future. Below is just their status before the black fog.

Father: Gawain Harper Carline (alive)-age 67

Mother: Serina Kaitlyn Carline (alive)-age 63

Older Brother: Charles Dean Carline (alive)-age 40

Sister: Winifred Ann Carline (alive)-age 36

Younger Brother: Trenton Randolf Carline (deceased)—died in war as a soldier on the front lines—age 30

Wife: Emily Winter Carline (deceased)—died during childbirth—age 27

Oldest child: Fauna Belle Carline (alive)—age 9

Younger child: Jasper Saul Carline (alive)—age 6

Allies: So far, only his squad

Enemies: He holds a stiff grudge to the Caimid Empire and he is now always biased of horses, swearing that they are all Kelpies. He also remembers The Abyssal Riders quite well.

Affiliations: Leavalon Empire

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Significant Other: Open!

Likes:

Animals, the outdoors, quiet, fire, super soft things, music

Dislikes:

When people skip around subjects and drag on long stories, Magic (it’s too unpredictable), war, needles, the cold, blood

Strengths:

Accuracy: as said before, his accuracy is wonderful. Part of it is because he’s a natural and another is from practice.

Speed: he is fairly fast on his feet and he has an average amount of stamina to compliment this trait.

Loyal: when you become part of his family, he will die for you

Weaknesses:

Strength: he has back muscle for sure, but he doesn’t have a ton of bicep or size. He is a wiry figure who is surprisingly strong.

Easily Angered: because of it, he’s been known to nearly kill someone. He almost got kicked out of training because of the dual he had as a squire.

Impatient: he has little patience for humans and he tolerates little. He can come off as harsh and cold because he snaps.

Powers (Up to 5):

Theme: Putting things together/making things

Ranking: 0 is the weakest, 5 is the strongest

Recreation: Rank 4: He can reform a broken object to something similar to what it once was. It is not identical, but close. If you shattered your sword he could mend it. Broken glass? Fixed.

Healing: Rank 3: He can mend broken bones, cuts and stab wounds. He cannot help someone who has cancer or needs a heart transplant. He can’t help organs, diseases or some unique issue (like hemophilia). He can’t just change genes nor create things out of the blue.

Telekinesis: Rank 2: He can’t pick up big heavy things like mountains or homes. He can barely pick up a 160 lb man. It is useful to take your opponent’s sword. He can only use it to move one thing at a time, however.

Rock Sculpting: Rank 5: He can shape rocks into different figures and he can carve them decently. Arrowheads? He can make them out of any type of rock no matter the material. Need to camp somewhere for the night? That big mountainside over there can provide some shelter.

Bio (optional):

Carlines were always some form of little nobility. They weren’t big dogs, but they were better than middle class. They had comforts and leisure and their sons would all train as knights. They did originate as cheats and liars who first fooled people into believing that they were rich. Then they actually became rich from stealing and by tricking. Eventually they did straighten out, but the dark past haunts the family name.

Gavin started training as a squire from the age of ten. Before that, he spent his time playing with the farm animals that lived on his property. He tried his best to save a cat who had gotten mauled by dogs. Unfortunately it didn’t work. He spent time with the horses and trained one to rise up onto its hind legs on command. He kept a blind chicken alive for four years (it died of old age) and tended to a calf whose mother had abandoned it. It survived.

He was known among his peers as a hot-head and also a cry baby because he had a hard time keeping his emotions in check. However, after he dueled one of the more popular boys, as he had insulted the Carline name, he gained more respect. He also gained a steady eye from all the teachers and he had almost been expelled. The other peers gave him space. This happened at age 14.

He was 19 when he met his wife, Emily Winter. She was a little higher in class and status and was 18 at the time. She came down to see her younger brother sparring and Gavin was desperate to impress a pretty girl, so he challenged the most senior knight for a dual to the blood. Gavin got the scar on his calf from that, but he had caught her attention. After the medic took care of him, they talked a bit then again later on that week. Soon these talks became more frequent and a year later they were wed.

She didn’t make it past 26 years old due to their second child’s difficult birth. The child survived and was taken cared of by a nanny. When the war started, Gavin sent his children to their Aunt Winifred. He never saw them again, but after the experiment he was able to send them each a stone sculpture of a griffon.

Other: Just curious, how long do griffons live?

Imperial Sand's Struggle to Survive Wolf RP (most of appearance is from Kappa) | Semi lit

Name: Opal

Age: 3

Gender: Female

Pack: Nomadic

Rank: Pack Member

Appearance:

Poppy is small, being only 65lb and stands at 27 inches. Her length is 4.7 feet. Her coat has the regular density, texture, fluffiness etc. of a wolf. It is a dark, pencil-lead color, with flecks of ash grey and cream on her back, that travels down to the tip of her tail, hoods over her ears and below her eyes. From paws to shoulders, it is cream, lighter on the sides of her legs and chest. This light color reaches up her face and covers her cheeks and the bottom of her muzzle. Her tail’s bottom is a dark variety of this cream, getting closer to a musky brown. Down her snout is this same color. From the cream to the grey their is very little gradual blending of the two colors. Someone could easily trace where one color ends and the other begins.

Her nose is like the night sky, the sheen of sunlight on her damp nose being the stars and the moon. Her eyes are like empty white pools, with only the slight tint towards yellow. Her ears are just a slight touch larger than average, but not enough to differ her from the pack or cast her out as an outsider. They just earn her comical nicknames like Donkey.

Personality:

•Curious •Reserved •Show Off •Prideful •Independent •Friendly •Food Aggressive •Prejudice •Ruthless

She has a ‘go-with-the-flow-until-the-flow-don’t-flow-with-me’ personality. It is the smarter decision to go with; she is protected in the safety of numbers, but she has her own goals and desires. She won’t break rules for the heck of it, but because of her curiosity. She is heavily inquisitive with about everything and will ask questions if she is comfortable enough to. She is reserved but will show off particular skills that she knows she’s good at. She is prideful enough to hide qualities that she isn’t the best at. She does enjoy a good laugh and will try to be friendly unless you stole her food. She is incredibly overprotective of her rightfully earned food and will kill over a piece. She cannot stand being hungry. It puts her in a horrid mood. She needs her full hours of sleep; without them, she’s very cranky.

She is prejudice. Prejudice of negative difference in qualities. She will justify her actions by claiming that flawed animals need to be put out of their misery. Does she need to justify herself? No, whether she admits it or not depends on who you are. She relishes the taste of blood and the sounds of tearing tendons. Kill on sight. She won’t hesitate to take you on, despite her lacking of size. She will hesitate, however, if you were a friend—past or present.

On a brighter note, she loves bugs. They’re fun to catch and are really crunchy. One of her favorite snacks, really. If you couldn’t tell, she is food motivated and will use this motivation to keep her on a mission.

Views on the Mountain Pack:

A group of unstable, pain-filled low-lives that need to be mercifully killed. Life is only for the strong. They are impure and are disgraceful to be labeled under the brand of wolf; a truly despicable mold of life made simply to be destroyed.

Crush: Open!!

Mate: None, yet…

Pups: She wouldn’t mind a litter. She thinks the perfect number would be seven.

Other: Are spots for the Mountain Pack still open?

Imperial Sand's Struggle to Survive Wolf RP (description is a mash of Kappa and an altered Sirius) | Semi lit

Name: Egal

Meaning: To be equal to

Age: 4

Gender: Male

Pack: Mountain

Rank: Pack Member

Appearance:

Egal is an average male grey wolf. He weighs 102 lb and stands at 2.7 feet tall at the withers. He’s four feet long with a foot and a quarter long tail. He’s compactly built but his muscles don’t show through his ruffled fur. The sleeves on his legs are white which slowly evolves into a cream at his shoulders and lower hips. The off-white covers his stomach fluff, snout and the color base of his back. Layered on top of the cream, like powder sugar on a warm lava cake, is a light grey. On his lower back is a dark smudge of grey mixed with flicks of black in the mixture. This is the same color on the tip of his off-white tail and the shadow that masks around his eyes. Slowly the dark grey fizzles back into the cream on the back of his head, above his snout and the bottom part of his cheek. His right eye matches the yellow of an autumn birch leaf and it looks bright next to his dark grey vizard.

His left eye’s skin is zipped tightly together, like an amateur sewing mistake on a stuffed animal. Or what is left of a toy when a child rips out the eyes. A softer description is that it looks like he is forever winking at you. This is a birth defect due to a lack of nutrition while in the womb. Unfortunately, his stillborn brother, the largest of the bunch, absorbed the most of the already sparse nourishments. Another defect, not one from birth, is his left front leg. He had fallen from a high height as a juvenile which caused it to be awkward, weak and bent out of shape. It refuses to stand up straight, so it is usually being dragged around while he limps. It has its uses, however, and he tries to use it whenever he can. He’s found that the more it is used, the less tight it becomes. And he hates the idea of being restricted.

Personality:

•Thankful •Independent Spirit •Patriotic •Protective •Judgmental •Caring •Welcoming •Intensely Loyal •Over Trusting •Listener •Secret Keeper •

He isn’t sensitive about his condition. In fact, he believes himself lucky to be alive and is thankful; his only other sibling was stillborn. He tries to live without regrets and to let past mistakes stay in the past. It can be hard and sometimes he curses his left leg for being so difficult. He has an independent spirit, but physically, he is very dependent on others. He is patriotic and protective over his pack. They are like him and share similar stories. He’ll let down his guard when he sees your disabilities. Once you are apart of his pack, he would die for you and he is incredibly loyal to the group. He is too trusting for his own good. He can be judgmental, but rarely does he say these thoughts out loud.

He cares for the little things in life rather than the large outstanding accomplishments. He thinks that if you’ve survived this crazy world for this long then you’ve done enough. He is usually welcoming and is prepared to share with you his stories. He sees scars as proof that you’ve lived. If you need to talk, he will listen and your secrets are safe with him.

Flaws:

-blind in left eye

-crooked front left leg (brachial plexus avulsion)

Crush: Open!

Mate: None for now

Pups: None for now

Meian's The Enchanted Wilds Dragon & Dragon Rider RP | Semi lit

“Science is in the real world, you brainless maggot!”

Name: Hartley Russell Barn

Nickname: Hart

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Sex (birth gender): Male

Role: Squire

Appearance:

Hart owns a pair of gentle brown eyes that look like dark, rich, honey in the sunlight. They are wide, but downturned. He has a large, but proportioned nose, the ridge being thick and the apex well-rounded. He has open nostrils that usually have clusters of nose hairs which poke their heads out. His actual face-shape is triangular, his chin being the peak. He does not have prominent cheek bones, but they are existent. He does have large ears that poke out of his head like a bald chihuahua’s. His lips are thin and rather non-existent and his brown eyebrows are very expressive and often leap up and down at different comments.

He has a mesomorphic body type which would give him an athletic advantage if he was interested in sports. His body is still fit as he lives in a world that requires squires to be able to take care of dragons. If he had to choose between inside or outside, he would choose the indoors. Mainly because libraries are inside. In his free time, his nose—and sometimes his entire face—is usually stuffed in a book so that only his ears can identify him, which they undoubtably do.

His hair can be described as a home-baked, fresh-out-of-the-oven gingersnap cookie. The wonderful, warm brown is his late spring to early autumn hair color. Then the slightly-burnt-but-still-edible ones are what his locks look like when the months grow cooler. Even the light sprinkling of sugar is accurate, except it is dandruff instead of sugar. He has horrible dandruff problems and there are always chunks of it somewhere in the thick bundle of knots. Knots, yes, his hair is very thick and not often enough does his wild mane get groomed thus resulting into many tangles. Although he is a stickler for spelling and rules, he is not one for personal hygiene. He might take his nickname of ‘Hart’ too personal, as he often smells like one. If he was properly groomed, his hair would be shoulder length and glossy like a bratty dog’s coat.

He wears rather average clothing. Y’know, off-white, long-sleeved shirts with a jerkin over it, stained pants and good leather shoes. He carries around a satchel with him, too. It is filled with books and snacks. He carries a gittern with him also, because, why not?

Personality:

•Snobbish •Petty •Practical •Rule-keeper •Trustworthy •Self-Righteous •Loyal •Hardworking •Prideful •Secretive •Pessimistic •Realistic •Brutally Candid•Not-A-Morning-Person •Introvert •Intelligent •Values Education •Choco-holic •Protective of Food/Books/Gittern/Friends •Secretly Wants Attention •Hypocrite •”Boring” •Educated •Thoughtless

Hart could be called snobbish and it wouldn’t be a lie. He is certainly a stickler for the rules and orders. Whoever doesn’t follow them are completely ignorant stupid-heads who’re going to loose their jobs, or in some cases, their heads. He is petty. For example, if you sit in his seat, he will certainly not share a couch with you and will spread his body as far as it could go to keep you off the sofa. It gets ridiculous at times, but it isn’t beneath him. Other than him just being petty, he is usually practical. He is not a tattle-tale, however, despite most people’s expectations. Hart will instead wait until you or anyone inside the party cracks and give away the secret. There is always a weak one. He will never give away a secret, that is something he swore from his single digit years.

He is certainly an unliked figure in most communities because of his stuck-up behavior and self-righteousness. He is a trustworthy and loyal-to-the-end character, although his motives and actions can seem questionable at times. When he swears, he swears on his dear mother’s grave. When he promises, he does so on his life. He hides his fears underneath bravado and sneering. He likes making up insults, although sometimes they don’t make quite a lot of sense. He has pieces of creativity in him and likes to draw whenever he is able to. He also has come up with little ditties, too. He spends most of his free-time inside of books or playing a gittern. He is still perfecting his ability at the string instrument. He will not play it in public because he is prideful and refuses not to show off his “poor" skills at it to an audience.

He is hardworking. He is usually at work for his master and tries to take care of them as best as he can. He isn’t the best at making them smile or raise their morals because he isn’t exactly an optimist. He might crack a sarcastic joke, however, but they usually aren’t very good. He is a realist and doesn’t like it when people sugar coat the truth. Facts are facts and anyone who is snowflake enough to cry at the truth shouldn’t be on this mission. A world changing event should not involve pansies who’ll bawl their eyes out if you tell them that Santa Clause ain’t real. Thus he is thoughtless at times. He can be socially unaware and awkward at times because he usually doesn’t practice that skill set in his free time. If it was up to him, he be a hermit who lives in a library in the woods. His grouchiness in the morning does nothing to aid his unfavorable popularity.

He is intelligent and educated. He might not be the smartest of the smart, but he is certainly not an idiot. He values education and learning. Most of the books he brings are about science or math, but he will read a fictional book whenever he is mentally exhausted or just in the mood. He will scoff at people who ridicule him for spending his time in books rather than hanging out in “the real world” (see quote). People have called him boring before and the fact is is that that adjective scares him. Sure, he’d love to live and be alone most of the time, but he doesn’t want to be friendless. He secretly craves communication, acknowledgment and praise from other human beings. However, he won’t accept this as a truth because he likes to think he is completely independent from human affections (his reason is his own). This makes him very much a hypocrite (see last paragraph).

He has a serious sweet-tooth and will eat any type of chocolate desert that you put before him. He will rarely eat any other dessert, although he does favor strawberry tarts. He likes most fruits and prefers them over vegetables since the green edibles are usually bland. He will happily eat green peas, however, as long as they aren’t mushed up into mash. He is protective over his food, books and gittern. He also favors potatoes because they are versatile. Can he cook? Sort of, he can make the basic breakfast of eggs and sausage. He can cook a simple potato soup and anyone can make a sandwich. However, this is about his limit.

Alone, he allows himself to goof off some and he prefers to do this in the woods where he is usually always alone. He finds the trees comforting. This is where he teaches himself how to play his instrument and where he practices drawing. He does like to read there, too. He will occasionally dance and/or sing if he is happy and he always talks to himself. He makes jokes too. With strangers, he is reserved and skeptical. With a group he recognizes, he will usually stay reserved unless he feels comfortable enough to be otherwise. He might try to interact with them because he really does crave human socialization deep inside. Once you are his friend, he will slowly express more of himself to you. Like his immature side that gets drunk on chocolate and normal cranberry juice. He’ll play jokes with you and maybe even pull a prank. He cares very deeply for these friends and would fight anyone who messes with them.

Dragon: TBD

Strengths(3+):

Educated—He reads up in his “modern” science and the newest mathematic discoveries. He tries to be well-rounded by being able to play an instrument and he knows how to draw decently. He does this for fun.

Intelligent—He’s not yet the brainiest one of the group, but certainly not the dumbest. A main base of his intelligence relies heavily on common sense and logic.

Trustworthy—You can tell him a secret and he won’t give it away. He’s a like a safe and it takes time and energy to get him to crack.

Loyal—He is loyal to the end of the line. When he chooses a side, he keeps it, despite any underdog situation against his favor.

Weaknesses(3+):

Prideful—He is very prideful and it is a shame because he could be a deceit person if he wasn’t. He can’t be wrong and he can’t make many mistakes in public. If he hasn’t mastered something, he feels very exposed to show his skill at it.

Snobbish—He is quite the snob and this is a large factor that goes into the pile of why he is rather friendless. He has also been described as a kill-joy because he is a rather serious person who doesn’t like to participate in after-dark swims or underage drinking or disobedient, immature parties for that matter.

Thoughtless—He doesn’t know when he should stop talking if what he says hurts someones feelings. He won’t straightforwardly insult them, but he might say something very frank that could upset a tender person.

Self-Righteous—With most people his age behaving recklessly, he is definitely different. He sees it as a good difference because he is more mature and compares them. He watches the other do stupid stuff and agrees with himself that he’d never do that. This comparison causes him to be unjustly judgmental of others and it makes him look down his nose at them even more.

Fear: He’s scared of drowning and of worms. The worm part was because of a stupid dream. Drowning is because he’s scared of water. He’s scared of being friendless because he might be boring. Being judged by others and being called out for being a fraud.

Affiliations: TBD, open

Love Interest: TBD, open

Voice: He has an averagely loud voice that becomes sharp when he is annoyed, disapproving others or whenever he is in a verbal war. He originally spoke with the vocabulary of his origins—the southern country. Whenever he becomes angry, defensive or irritated, it returns to him. He tries not to use it because he considers that part in his life a very unmannerly, improper section. So he tries to speak in good, proper English that reflects the good breeding he tries to assume. Oh, yes, it sounds British, usually, but his country slang is totally southern country American—y’alls, an’ everything.

Reputation:

Due to his unwelcoming characteristics and first impressions, he's the 'leave-me-alone-you-lesser-than-me-losers' type of guy. People often wonder how he is a squire since he is rather pessimistic. He can be interesting to watch because he's socially unaware at times. Some people might not even notive him since he is usually quiet. He a stick-in-the-mud, too, because he usually won't join in on the fun, but he won't leave either. He just likes to watch people do the activity, but not actually participate. However, if you find him by himself in the woods....you'll see him as a weirdo who sings and dances to his own music.

Background:

He grew up in the south. His educated mother taught both him and his younger brother, Rolland, how to read and write. Hart had a particular love for it rather than his brother, so their mother focused on him mainly and was satisfied as long as Rolland could read and write a little. They weren’t rich enough to buy several textbooks, but there was a library in a town nearby that Hart would practically live in. He worked there for a little bit. He would take home with him at least two of the books, whether it was educational or fictional. He would mainly read them in the woods where he felt the safest.

As a younger boy, he was the weird, big-nosed, big-eared nerd who didn’t like sports. Other children bullied him for his love for learning and his nose always was in a book. So he ran to the woods to hide from them and found it quite comfortable. He then came up with a tall tale about the forest to scare the others away, which it did successfully.

He grew up some and his parents let him go off on his own. He quit his job as a stablehand to get a job as a scribe or something behind a desk where he could possibly gain in book smarts. He had always wanted to travel north too, so he did. He found that they had a different accent than the south. All the interviewers were prejudice against his southern drawl, so he remained jobless for a while. They even doubted his capabilities even after he proved to them that he could read and write. He learned how to speak like them, their accent and their lingo. He was able to pass as a well educated young man from a college afterwards and he kept up this lie ever since. At first it killed him to lie, but eventually he got used to it.

Then he got fired.

It was really stupid too. He slept in too late. That is why he got fired. No one higher him, so he found a job that he had had in the past, a stablehand. During this time, his love for learning didn’t stop, but his care for personal hygiene did. Eventually he met someone who was looking for a squire, which would be a great upgrade from what he was currently doing. Thus, he accidentally got himself wound up in searching for a proclaimed extinct dragon breed.

Theme Songs:

Theme songs are stupid.

Other:

Sorry for Hart’s behavior! Theme songs are actually really cool and this practically newborn boy knows nothing!

From my "Eleven from Tetra" RP; it is a medieval fantasy | Semi lit to Lit

“You did not wash out the pot! How can I make mashed potatoes when I don’t have a clean pot? Don’t just stand there! Get your lazy bum over here and clean it!”

Name: Augustus Rose

Nickname: August

Title(optional): None

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Role: “Mage”

How long have you had this role?

9 years as August has been attending NMST ever since he was tested for magic at age 9.

What is your family motto?

“Do or die, no matter the cost”

A fancy way of saying, “I’ll always finish a project.”

Appearance:

August stands exactly six feet tall and weighs 168 lb. His eyes are soft blue color that resembles light denim jeans. His lips are thin, but existent and he owns an oval face shape. His chin is prominent, but doesn’t stick out of his head like an oddly placed horn. He has a mole on his right cheek and his nose is broad and slightly upturned. He is proud that it is proportioned to his other facial features as most of his family were cursed with oversized sniffers. Unlike most other mages, the Roses don’t alter their appearances and are known to be the ugliest mage family in Tetra. However, their “ugly” genes also always carry on the magical abilities.

His hair is extremely thick and constantly greasy. He usually magics the pimples away, but there is yet to be a spell for oily hair. His hair color is similar to red clay dirt. It is a orangish brown that is frequently tied up in a bun, rarely does he go out in about without his shoulder-length hair tied up in some fashion. His eyebrows show a lighter color than what his hair suggests and are neat crescents above his eyes. They are thinly shaped, but are long. His skin rather oily and sometimes he feels like he could light the entire world on fire with just the oil that is produced by his skin and hair.

He usually wears a mixture of these three colors: blue, brown and white. That is about all that he has in his closet no matter the daily protests of his mother. He does not own any white or blue pants because he feels ridiculous in them. His trousers are always brown, but his mother did sneak in a pair of black ones in his dresser drawer that he has yet to throw away. His tunics are either white or a dark blue. His shoes are brown leather ankle boots. Socks are for wimps!

He is really out of shape. He has an ectomorphic body type that refuses to build any muscle and any fat on him. Not that he tries or anything. He is content to his books and although he eats snacks while studying difficult material, he does not gain much fat. He does have more flab to his tummy rather than any hardness.

Staff:

Wood: Black Walnut

Topper (Gem): Smooth Zircon Ball

Description: It was originally a branch from an ancient black walnut that was dying. Since the tree was a piece of history, its branches were salvaged to be made into staffs. The tree itself was honored by fireworks and floating lanterns. The staff carpenter smoothed the rough edges and carved the material. The top of it had been designed so that the wood would wrap itself around a circular ball. This ball is actually a smoothed Zircon mineral. The dim yellow-brown rock is more oval than circular, yet it fits snugly as the topper of the hardwood staff.

Personality:

•Tries to be Independent •Hardworking •Judgmental •Snarky •Prideful •Can be Indifferent •Whiny •Semi-Sarcastic •Verbal Fighter •Logical •Hard on himself •Ambitious •Practical •Doer •Has to have motivation to lie convincingly •Cooker

August tries to be independent. He really does. Unfortunately, it usually never works. He is his mother’s fragile china doll because he had health issues as a child. His arm is straight now and his eyes aren’t crossed anymore either, but she still insists that she does his laundry and that she’ll cook for him too. His father would’ve fixed his birth defects by magic if his mother hadn’t insisted that August would have to do it the “natural” way (if you couldn’t tell, she wasn’t a mage). She taught her son that he would have to work for things in life and nothing, not even magic, would make getting achievements easier. She’s the reason why he didn’t turn into a magical snob like the majority of the residents from NMST.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a snob. He does have a tendency to judge others, particularly peers who are struggling in classes that he is thriving in. He doesn’t think to help them and considers them ignorant. However, he does not pay attention to when they excel in other classes or professions. He unintentionally uses them to make himself feel better for where he fails (like PE and the arts). He is prideful about his grades as they are a large part of his identity. He can be snarky whenever people don’t complete a project or job. If you sign up for something, you do it. He doesn’t understand procrastinators and doesn’t want to, but he will complain about them. He is also whiny when it comes to doing something he doesn’t want to do. For example, running; running makes no sense whatsoever. Like, what is chasing you? Your shadow?

Right, he can be sarcastic at times but rarely does he have a good jab. He really likes to watch verbal battles, just to see the wit of some people. Physical things are just too messy and they are unpleasant to be in. Punching someone’s jaw probably hurts your fist just as much as it hurts their face, so what is the point? To see who bleeds the most? He likes to deal with his disagreements in a logical, verbal way (preferably in front of a court) rather than like an animal. Whenever he makes a mistake, it stays in the back of his mind until he can make it right. If he accidentally killed your cat, he’ll wait until you are ready and then give you another one. He feels like he has to make every wrong right by sometimes drastic proportions. Came late to class? He’ll give himself detention by cleaning up and doing extra homework. However, some wrongs are unforgivable to him and the only way to fix them would be erasing them from time. So, he can be hard on himself.

He is ambitious. He wants to be the king’s right hand mage. He believes that that is the best way he could honor the gods by keeping the country values. He would honestly pass all tests, by his honor he will be trustworthy and he would respect history by dedicating most of his money to the printing of history books and to scribes writing about the current times. He, himself, wants to write a history book when he becomes old and grey. He also challenges himself to learn more advanced spells as he is being taught by his professors. However, self-taught spells are discouraged because they often come out wrong, a good example is the time spell.

Alone, he mutters to himself about different things. He is often reading, doing homework or trying to cast spells. He rarely is seen playing an instrument, although he knows how to play the harp a little. He just doesn’t enjoy it as it seems pointless. He does not dance or sing. He can’t draw either. With other people, he can be quiet but is usually active in some form. Maybe not talking, but more of doing. He can take pity on some people, but it is usually just that, pity. When he is hiding something, it can be obvious that something is bothering him. It depends on what is at risk. His life? He can lie very well despite not having much practice. His reputation? Almost as well. Just a small, meaningless secret? It is written all over his face.

He is a cooker. Big time cooker. It’s the only form of art that truly captures his undivided attention. He is like most all cooks and will not tolerate laziness in his kitchen where it is the only place where he has the loudest mouth. He is the most socially comfortable with, surprisingly not his staff, a spatula or ladle in his hands. He prefers his ladle, however. It works similarly as a security blanket. He does not like people to mention that he clutches its handle whenever he is scared or intimidated. It’s his righthand tool, a trustworthy object that he’s going to die with. Right, he also can fuss over cooking and how to do this and that properly. No mistakes in his kitchen. Ever.

Why are you on this quest?

“I made the mistake, so I’m going to fix it. The world isn’t going to fall apart because I made a couple of bad choices.”

What do you think your worth is to the team?

“I’m a mage and they don’t know that I still have three more years before I can legally practice magic outside of NMST. So, I guess I’m an important player in this mission.”

What does your character think about themselves?

“I, uh, um….To be honest, I feel guilty and dirty; really, really, really dirty inside for lying. And breaking the law that requires mages to have completed all twelve years of school before practicing outside of the campus. Yeah…I’m not going to be able to get back in, Dad’s going to kill me.”

He feels inhuman, especially at night, because he killed someone. Because he let a lie live. Because he had made three mistakes in the same night. Because he let down two country values; he has very little honor left.

How observant are you?

“Heheheh, that’s a funny question. Ranking on a scale from one to ten, with one being clueless, I’m either a three or a four. I’m going to die.”

Have you broken any laws?

“Yeah, I have. To be specific, it is the one that requires unfinished mages to only practice magic at their campus. And no, I don’t count the time where I ate my brother’s strawberry tart.”

He also killed someone.

What is your view on the Country Values?

“A country without any values is a country without a people who get along. Values help us to live peacefully. ‘Course, there are always the black sheep out there, but they’ll get over it.”

Family:

August grew up in a high class family. His father is a mage while his mother is just a very doting, caring mum. He has a younger brother (by three years) who is also attending NMST. His little sister has yet to be tested and she is almost ten years old.

Affiliations: TBD

History:

He grew up with his father casting spells. His mother was always doting on him because he had crossed eyes and a crooked arm for a long time. She insisted that August’s eyes would be fixed by a doctor and not a magician. August’s father knew that his arm wouldn’t be able to be helped by any doctor, so he secretly fixed it with magic. To this day, Mrs. Rose thinks that the arm healed by itself. Unfortunately, this stole a lot of attention away from August’s younger brother, Rudolf, so there had been a dotted line of resentment between the two. When he was still with the family, he stayed in the kitchens with the servants a lot. His father didn’t like it and often forced him outside to train with the other boys. He did not ban the servants from talking to him, however, so August learned most recipes from his childhood cook. August was tested at nine years old and was almost immediately sent to NMST. His father hoped that this independence would build him a back bone, whether it did or not is up to your perspective; to his father, it did not. There he found out that sports were not made for him and that he had no taste in art. He did find interest in academics and decided to grow the most there and forget the other courses.

Around his sixteenth birthday, a transfer student from a different, less popular, mage school popped in. His name was Fredrick Oats. He challenged August’s hold of being the brightest student there and was more popular as he was fond of sports and drawing. He was, however, fond of breaking the rules and of a certain girl. August had caught him sneaking out to see her and the two had a physical fight. August killed him in self defense. In his panic, he didn’t realize that he wouldn’t be publicly executed because it wasn’t premeditated. He had been reading up on the Time Spell, and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to live once Fredrick’s body had been found. So he started the spell, right then and there, and it didn’t work. By luck, the Chief Mage was nearby (he had been visiting the school to make sure everything was running smoothly) and was able to stop it. Everyone assumed that Fredrick had died due to the badly executed spell. No one knows what really happened except for August.

Other:

August likes to cook. It is the only form of art that he is actually good at. However, like any good chef, he will not tolerate laziness or dirt dishes. (See quote)

He also carries his wood ladle with him.

Appearance:

Her back is tawny like the sunrise kissing the horizon. Small dots lick her hide and they gather thickly around her haunches. Her fur lightens as it travels down to her stomach which is a light golden cream. Her nose still carries the childish pink that won’t fade until adulthood. To her relief, it is growing into the spotted of her mother’s. Her head still has that cub-like structure, however; the black lines from her eyes that drain into her muzzle still exist, though they are transforming into a dark grey rather than the pitch darkness that haunts the midnight sky.

Personality:

wants to grow up •childish •excitable •loyal •hardworking •zealous •somewhat observant

She wants to grow up. Adults tell her not to rush through her childhood, but she can’t wait to go on her first hunt. To be trusted to go out alone. She wants to be the best of the best and will become an experienced and honor-worthy huntress. Yes, that is what will be her life. She is zealous for her pride and will defend it whatever the cost.
