Aspen had managed to fall asleep in the short amount of waiting time there was. He had been freezing but apparently the cold or the sound of thunder hadn't been enough to keep him awake. He woke up to a knock on his truck and the sound of a helicopter. He jumped to life ever so slightly and turned to see the familiar looks of the prince outside of his window. The rain was still coming down heavily and he didn't want to leave the poor prince in the downpour. "Thank you so much. I don't know what I was thinking driving off like I did," He sighed, opening the door and slipping outside. He reached back in to grab his keys. He stood rather close to the prince, listening to him. He gave a soft chuckle at the mention of a handsome prince coming to rescue them. "Trust me, I plan for this being the first and last time I will ever be calling royalty to help me out of the consequences of my mistakes," He said, taking the lead toward the helicopter and speaking loud over it,"Although I will have to say that if I hadn't leaned upon you for help, I would have never seen said handsome prince in sweatpants." He was freezing as it is. He didn't want to waste anymore time out in the rain. His clothes had just started to dry before he stepped into the rain again. |

Avery opened the small door of the chopper, allowing Aspen in first. He followed the other man into the back of the helicopter, a small comfortable bench area.
"There are blankets under that seat," he said, gesturing to one of the seats. "I'm afraid there aren't any dry clothes, but we can find you some back at the palace." He hurried up to the cockpit, and settled into the co-pilot's seat, and giving Lorenz a thumbs up. The two guys flipped some switches and Lorenz slowly raised the chopper into the dark, rainy sky. It was a quicker flight home, thanks to Lorenz knowing some shortcuts, and they landed on Avery's private landing pad only a few minutes later. Lorenz told Avery he'd take the chopper back to its place and wipe it down. He suggested that Avery take Aspen into the palace, and find him some dry clothes, and possibly somewhere to sleep. Avery reluctantly agreed, and headed into the back. "I'll take you to find some dry clothes," he said, quietly, and in a subdued tone. Without waiting to see if Aspen was following, he walked into the palace, shedding his damp shirt, and heading into his rooms.
"There's a shower in there," he said, gesturing to a gilt door on one side of the room. "Help yourself to anything that's in there. The towels are all clean." While he spoke, he dug in a drawer, and pulled out a thick, green sweatshirt with a fencing league's name on it, and soft grey sweatpants.
"You can put these on after. I'm going to go check on Robbie. Any questions?" |

The ride back was quick and silent. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of rain and the helicopter. Aspen was thankful for the loud noise to drown out the sound of his chattering. Although, he had helped himself to one of the blankets, it still wasn't quite warm enough. It wasn't long until the helicopter landed and Prince Avery's face appeared. He said something about dry clothes and he followed after the prince. Now that they weren't in the helicopter, both the sound of Aspen's teeth chattering and sniffles could be heard throughout the castle as he followed. He saw Prince Avery take off his shirt and he couldn't help but let his gaze wonder down the sight of Prince Avery's bare back. They arrived into one of the rooms that he assumed was the prince's. His gaze fell off the prince and took in the room. He only looked at the prince again when he gestured at the bathroom and when dry clothes were handed to him. He shook his head no when he was asked if he had any questions. and made his way into the bathroom, softly uttering another serious of thank-yous in between his teeth shattering. He was tired, exhausted, and cold. The only thing on his mind was curling up into a nice warm bed and forgetting he had ever done such a foolish thing. |

Avery gave him a polite nod, and headed to Robbie's rooms, which were next to his. The younger boy was still asleep, and that cat was sprawled over him.
Avery smiled, and gave the cat a quick pet before raiding Robbie's closet. He would've gone and gotten some of his own clothes, but didn't want to accidentally walk in on anything he didn't want to see. He found a pair of his own pants, which he was glad of, though he was a bit peeved that his brother had them. He also found a shirt that he fit into, though not well. It hugged his chest and arms, and he sighed. Once dressed in the dry clothes, he went and watched the movie for a bit, now wide awake. Once he heard the shower stop in the other room, he started to pay more attention to the softer noises drifting from his room, not wanting Aspen roaming the halls of the castle trying to find him. Once he heard a door click, he slowly got up, leaving his blanket with Robbie, and headed out into the halls. He hesitated at the door, still a bit apprehensive. Instead, he went to a further door, that walked into a parlor adjacent to his bedroom, which was next to the bathroom he'd given Aspen axcess to.
He walked to the car door, and knocked softly, pushing the door open. "Did you find everything all right?" |

The warm shower was exactly what Aspen needed. He took his sweet time, knowing that the castle would be able to afford somebody taking an extra long shower. He stood in the water until every bone in his body was warm again before he began to lather himself in the prince's soap. The soap smelled and felt amazing. It left his skin softer than it has ever been. The water pressure was also so great in the shower, compared to his. He wanted to stay in there all night but knew if he stayed too long, the prince would check up on him. The last thing he wanted was for the prince to see something that both of them didn't want him too. So he turned off the water and stepped out. He shivered against the cold a little and embraced the gigantic warm towels the castle had. Once he was dry, he slipped into the prince's pants. They were quite a bit bigger than he was and he had to tighten the string all the way to keep them from falling off his hips. Thankfully, oversized hoodies were in style right now. He slipped the hoodie in and put his wet clothes into a pile next to the shower. He didn't see a laundry hamper anywhere but that was okay. Once finished he headed out of the bathroom. He didn't see the prince in sight so he busied himself with looking at the decorations and pictures on the wall. He didn't want to go looking for the prince just in case he stumbled into a room he wasn't supposed to be in. Luckily, it wasn't long until he heard a knocking on the door. "Oh yeah, I did. Thank you again," He responded, his voice still on the soft and quiet side. His teeth had stopped chattering and he wasn't sniffling anymore which was a good sign. Getting a cold would not be ideal at a time like this. |

Avery shifted uncomfortably in the doorway for a second, then a thought struck him. "Oh, you're probably tired. Follow me."
He walked back through his room, and to the parlor beyond, pausing to pick up a small key. He then went down the hallway to the door next to his, and unlocked the room, thankful that the whole palace was heated.
The room inside was to him comfortably small. It was done in shades of blues, and had a large bed on the far side. Avery quickly flicked on the lights, making sure that the room was in order, and that it was warm enough. He futzed with the thermostat for a bit, and then turned, having the room a critical eye.
He stepped outside for a second, and talked to Lorenz in a low voice for a second. A few minutes later, the bodyguard returned with a small silver tray. On it, a cup of steaming hot chocolate, and a fresh croissant sat elegantly. Lorenz left the tray on the small bedside table, and left the room with a slight bow. Avery explained quickly how the TV worked, and then, after only a moment of hesitation, left the room. All his energy was gone, and he just wanted to lay down. He went back to Robbie's room, and collapsed on the couch with his brother burrowing under the many blankets, and the cat.
The familiar movies still playing quickly lulled him into a half-asleep state, and when the kitten started purring, he curled deeper into the blankets, and fell fast asleep. |

Aspen wasn't a very talkative person to start with. He seemed to talk less when he was tired. He wasn't sure exactly what to say to the prince so for a moment, the two seemed to just stand in awkward silence. "Oh, you're probably tired. Follow me." Aspen was saved from trying to use his last bought of energy to try to think of something to say. He gave a nod and watched the prince grab some keys before following him out the door. Prince Avery led him to a room that was next to his. Peering inside, he saw a nice little blue room with a bed much larger than his. He leaned against the doorframe and watched the prince fuss all over the room. He couldn't help but give a soft smile. He thought it was kind of cute that the prince was making all this fuss to make sure that he was well-accommodated. He would have never believed he would see a day where a prince was fussing over him and not the other way around. He stepped out of the prince's way when he saw him heading toward the door. His body guard and him talked quietly for a moment. Aspen stepped inside of the room more, taking it in. It was nice but that was to expected from a castle. "You really didn't have to do all this for me..." He started to explain, having a seat on the bed,"You've already done more than enough just by not leaving me in my truck to catch a cold." The prince's body guard returned with hot chocolate and a croissant,"Oh my, thank you!" He said to the body guard and took a sip of the hot chocolate. He definitely wasn't used to being pampered like this. He listened to the prince explain how the tv worked and soon he was alone in the room. He gave a soft sigh, burying himself deep into the bed comforter. He turned on the tv and flipped through the channels until he found something remotely interesting. All his energy that he had while driving had faded. He was warm and content. Soon he was dozing off with half of the hot chocolate and crossiant gone. (We can skip to morning if you want)))) |

TIMESKIP Avery woke up the next morning with Robbie sprawled across him. He felt bleary, and vaguely stiff from sleeping on a couch. The TV was just wrapping up the last movie, and he laughed softly. Then all the memories came rushing back, and he sucked a breath in. He tried to sit up abruptly, but with Robbie's weight on him, he couldn't. He fell back with a sigh, shoved his brother off of him. He was glad Robbie was a deep sleeper, with everything that had happened last night. He showered in Robbie's shower, letting himself work through what he was going to tell his brother-and his parents. He rushed his shower more than he would've liked to, but he wanted to check on Aspen. He padded down the hallway, still dressed in his brother's clothes, and paused at Aspen's door.
He couldn't tell if Aspen was awake, or if he read going to wake him up. He quickly checked the time. It was almost 10, so he decided that either way, it would be fine to go in. He took a steadying breath, ran a hand through his slightly damp locks, and knocked on the door. "Aspen? I'm gonna go get some breakfast with Robbie. Do you wanna come with us?" |

Aspen woke up in an unfamiliar room. It was nice-much nicer than his apartment. The room had many different hues of blue and the tv was on. He didn't even have a tv, he normally watched stuff on his computer. Where the hell was he? He moved to sit up, running a hand through is short wavy hair. He looked down and frowned. He normally didn't sleep in sweatpants and since when did he own sweatpants so soft? "Aspen? I'm gonna go get some breakfast with Robbie. Do you wanna come with us?" He heard the familiar voice and it clicked. He remembered the argument with the prince, driving until he ran out of gas, calling the prince for help... it all came rushing back to him. He turned the tv off and stood up, giving a stretch. His body seemed to ache in the process. He paused at a mirror in the room and checked his appearance. His hair was ruffled, probably due to him falling asleep with wet hair. He still smelled strongly of the prince's soap which wasn't at all a bad thing. After smoothing down a few strands of his hair, he opened the door and greeted the prince with a small bow and a smile. "I would love to," His voice was friendly but not formal. Prince Avery's hadn't been formal either so he hoped that it was okay that he had dropped the formality. He for sure didn't want the prince to take offense. Not after he had been so kind to him. |

Avery returned the smile, though it was a bit tense, thanks to the events of the day before. He was suddenly painfully aware that he was wearing a shirt that was 3 sizes too small for him. He gave a slight cough. "Right then. I'm going to go wake Robbie up. If you want clean clothes, there should be some in that bureau, some of my old clothes. It'll be mostly suits, sorry." He turned from the doorway, and returned to his brother's bedroom. Avery sighed, and turned the TV off, smacking Robbie's shoulder, in a brotherly way. "Get up, little boy. We're going to go out for breakfast."
Robbie, who had been able to sleep through the whole night, was awake in a few minutes, and slowly stood up, leaving the kitten burrowing in the blankets. The younger boy hurried off, returning a few minutes later in a dark green suit, so dark, it was almost black, but not quite. He studied his brother.
"That's my shirt, isn't it? And you're going to put a suit on, right?"
Avery laughed and nodded, ducking into his room, and returning a moment later in a suit that matched his eyes. The two princes knew that going out in public meant having to dress for the press. They walked back through the hallway to Aspen's room, chattering about where they wanted to go out to breakfast at. Robbie wanted pancakes, and Avery was conflicted. He didn't mind pancakes, but he preferred light meals. They reached the door a moment later, and leaned against the wall opposite it, waiting for Aspen to appear. |
