Rylee Hunt has been a detective for seven long years, and she's only 28. (Muse B) is a rookie who has just graduated from Police Academy and has been assigned to Rylee's precinct, the 12th Precinct. Now, Rylee is one to work alone. She has partners she works alongside, however she prefers to work alone as much as she can. And Rylee has managed to avoid getting a rookie for seven long years. However this time, her captain gives her a rookie. Muse B.
Annoyed, but willing to cooperate keep her job, Rylee allows Muse B to be her rookie. Slowly but surely Rylee starts to warm up toward her rookie, however for the most part is still determined to work alone. And Rylee's plan is to transfer Muse B to another detective when he finishes his rookie training. Will Muse B be able to change her mind?

"Detective Hunt!"
A young woman looks up from her desk,"Captain Wolfred?" Liam Wolfred, head of the NYPD 12th Precinct, was standing in his doorway,"Come here, Hunt." Rylee Hunt gets to her feet, pushing her chair in before heading over to Liam,"Yes sir?" Liam gestures,"Come on in." Rylee obeys and Liam closes the door behind him,"Sir, am I in trouble?" Liam shakes his head,"No. I just wanted to discuss something with you." Rylee raises an eyebrow,"Okay?" Liam takes a seat behind his desk,"As you know, today we are getting a new load of rookie detectives in." Rylee nods,"Yes sir." Liam leans forward,"And as you know, they are always taken under someone's wing until they start to get a hang of things then they either get a new partner or stay with who they started with."
Rylee nods again,"Yes sir." Liam continues,"Well, I've got all the other rookies assigned, but there is one that I would like for you to take." Rylee frowns, she was use to working by herself. She never got a rookie to watch over,"But, sir. You never give me a rookie." Liam nods,"I know, but this one has some good potential and I want my best to guide him." Liam raises an eyebrow,"Are you up for the challenge?" Rylee's jaw tightens but she nods,"Of course, sir. Who is it?" Liam picks up a file, handing it over to Rylee,"Alex Rouge." Rylee takes the file, and opens it, scanning through it. Rylee frowns, before nodding,"When will they be in?" Liam glances at the clock,"Soon. I'd give it fifteen to twenty minutes."
Rylee exits the captain's office, a damper on her mood, but she was determined not to say anything. She returns to her desk, where she sits down and continues her paperwork. Three more detectives walk up. Rylee greets them with a nod,"Steffen, Rodgers, Norwood." Forest Steffen, Page Rodgers, and Elijah Norwood had been in the class below Rylee in the academy and all three had passed with flying colors. Page raises an eyebrow,"You got assigned a rookie?" The four kind of worked as a team, in a way, Rylee was for sure the lone wolf. Rylee sighs,"Sadly."
Page laughs, her eyes twinkling,"Perhaps this'll loosen you up." The two boys exchange a grin,"Who knows." Rylee rolls her eyes at the three,"Maybe it will, or maybe it'll just prove to the captain that I work better alone." Page grins,"Maybe it will. But you work well enough with us." Rylee shrugs,"True enough, but even then I still work alone more." Page rolls her eyes,"Oh come on." Rylee shoots a grin at the three,"What? You can't deny that although I work well with you three, that's about the only people I get along with and I do work better completely alone." Page and Forest sigh, exchanging a glance,"I feel bad for Rylee's rookie." Rylee rolls her eyes as she gets up,"Oh come on, I'm sure the rookies are hovering downstairs by now. Unsure of what to do or where to go." |

Alex was pretty unsure of what his life would be like now all he knew for ure was that he had to get his sibilings to school. He ran around the house waking everyone up who went to school. ALex almost never woke up the others since they had night classes at college that they took except for one. Jack was the one he wanted to be a police detective. Alex grumble as he thought Great the last one that is a pain! Alex grunted before opening the door quietly. He took out 2 pans and banged then together. Alex had sucessufully startled awake Jack. Alex said "Get your ass up and get dress i don't have all day." Jack had grumbled something but Alex ingored it. He left a note to the oldest after him saying please take Alexis out for her walk. Alex grabbed Sapphire's leash knowing that she didn't like anyone except him. He put her coller and leash one before ushering everyoe out into the car. Alex had finally dropped everyone off and was maybe 5 or 6 blocks from the police station. Alex was gonna have to wal shappire and take her home so he pulled the car over. He hopped out and grabbed Sapphire's leash through the window before opening the same door and rolling up the window. He didn't want anything to go wrong today but being late was something he had to deal with hopefully his senior officer wasn't outside waiting. Alex let Sapphire out before shuting the door and locking it. He began at a slow pace walking with Sapphire before setting a run. Next thing he knew Alex was by the Police station needing to catch his breath he stopped. Alex had a bottle of water in his had and in his bag he had a bowl. Alex set the bowl down before Pouring the water in which Sapphire licked up. He dran the rest of the water before standing. He was about to start running when he heard someone shout. |

The four detectives chat as they head out of the bullpen and into the elevator. Rylee, although preferring to be by herself, got along well with Page, Forest, and Elijah. Although they had been together for six long years and no doubt they would continue to work together until they retired or moved to a different precinct. Or on a more depressing note, died in the service. Finally the elevator comes to a halt at the bottom of the precinct. Rylee leads the way out the other detectives on her heels. Her grey eyes scan the lobby, it wasn't very busy since it was the lobby of the whole police building.
"The rookies are in the conference room." A passing officer states, to which Page nods,"Thanks." There was a conference room on the bottom floor for that exact reason. For the rookies to sit and wait for their mentors to come and get them. Rylee sighs,"Alright, let's go meet the rookies." Forest, Page, and Elijah exchange grins,"Oh, we didn't get rookies. We just wanna see what happens when you meet yours." Rylee rolls her eyes,"Oh great." Though she shoots a half grin at them as she leads the way over. With a deep breath she pushes the door open and enters.
Once again her grey eyes scan the room, the room was actually pretty empty. They didn't often get many rookies, usually no more than five at a time. And currently there were only two sitting in the room. Rylee frowns,"Either one of you Alex Rouge?" The two rookies shake their heads and Rylee sighs,"Great, I get the one rookie who is late." Her eyes narrow,"It better not be a daily thing." Forest and Elijah exchange another grin and Rylee sighs in annoyance. "I swear, I'm going to find a way to bribe Wolfred into never giving me another rookie."
Rylee muses as she exits,"Or maybe I can convince Wolfred to switch the rookie over to someone else. He has seen that I do work better alone." Page, Forest, and Elijah follow massive grins on their faces. Rylee shoots a glance over her shoulder as she heads back for the elevator,"What are you three grinning at?" Page shrugs,"Oh, just the fact that you haven't even met you rookie yet and you're already trying to get rid of him." |

Alex turned to see Captain Wolfred as he did he notice Sapphire begin to bark. He took his leg and nugded Sapphire. Captain Wolfred yelled "Mr.Rouge you are suppose to be in the waiting room!" Alex looked at Wolfred and said "Sorry Captain i have a lot of younger sibilings i have to take care of and two dog on top of it." Wolfred looked unhappy but understanding. Alex sighed before saying "I just need to go home and put Sapphire up.." Wolfred spoke in a demanding tone "No you will get your clothes from the spares in the buliding and Sapphire well will just have to be put in one of the k9 unit cages." Alex said "Yes sir." He walked into the buliding before heading towards the spares where Wolfred had told him. Alex walked in tied Sapphire up and changed real quick before going to the conferance room with Shappire on her leash. Alex sighed before sitting down and waiting for his partern/teacher. Alex told Sapphire to sit and then stand. Sapphire sat and then stood up on two legs. He the heard someone brust open the door. Sapphire began to bark before he nugded her agian and she went quite. He turn to see a female dective walk in. |

The four detectives return to their floor, and return to their desks, working on paperwork. Suddenly the phone on Rylee's desk goes off,"Hunt." It was the front desk,"Your rookie walked in, he's in the conference room, and he's got a dog." Rylee frowns,"A dog? Your kidding right? Captain never allows rookies to have dogs, hell he barely allowed me to have a K9 and I've been here for seven years." The front desk sighs,"I don't know, Hunt, but he's down here." Rylee sighs,"Alright, thanks." She hangs up and gets to her feet, causing the other three to look over,"What's up?" Rylee replies,"My rookie finally showed up... With a dog." The other three exchange glances, dog?
Rylee heads into the elevator which takes her down to the bottom floor, she was pissed off, and it was obvious. Her rookie was late, he had a freaking dog, and well... She got assigned a rookie. She enters the conference room to hear barking and then the owner silences the dog. Rylee's cold grey eyes land on him,"Alex Rouge. Civilian dogs aren't allowed in the precinct unless they are connected to a murder. So unless your dog murdered someone recently or witnessed a murder, I want her out of my building." Her voice wasn't exactly cold, but it wasn't exactly warm and welcoming either. But that's just how Rylee rolled.
Her eyes narrow slightly,"You've got ten minutes to get that dog home and be back here. This is a real life, working police precinct, not the academy. We don't pat you on the hand and keep pretending its okay." She turns, pausing at the door,"We're the fifth floor up." Then she exits, heading back up to the elevator where she heads back up to her floor. Page, Elijah, and Forest were all sitting around her desk, waiting. Rylee sighs,"What?" Page grins,"You scare the rookie yet?" Rylee sits down, shrugging,"Who knows. I told him, he's got ten minutes to get the dog home and to get back here. If he doesn't compile, then I'll deal with it then. Murder waits for no one."
Forest digs out a twenty dollar bill and hands it to Page, a defeated look on his face. Page takes it with a grin,"I can't believe you bet against me, Steffen." Rylee half glares,"I can't believe you bet." Page shrugs,"Oh, we just wanted to have some fun. But I knew what was gonna happen." Rylee shakes her head, only half amused,"You done with paperwork?" The three nod and Rylee orders,"Then go take a thirty minute break, I'll call if something happens." The three get up,"You sure?" Rylee waves them off,"Go." The three detectives exchange grins and head off to take a break, while Rylee finishes up her paperwork while she waits on her rookie. She was still pissed, but definitely had calmed down. |

Alex heard her speak and said "Captain wolfred told me to put her in a k9 kennel for today since he wasn't letting me go home and put her up." He continued to say "I know i made a not so great impression on the first day but allow me to explain...please." Alex looked around before releasing Sapphire's leash and she stayed next to him. He stood up and so did Sapphire. Alex and Sapphire's movements were connected but she still needs some more training. Alex waited for a response from Rylee and he didn't even know her name yet. He looked at the other detectives before they left and he wondered what were they betting on. He didn't know wether or not Rylee would believe him but he figure it would be better to explain than stay quite. Alex countined to think when he heard the door open agian. Alex looked back to see the captain. He wasn't sure what the Captain was here for but figured it best to stay quite. Alex noticed that Sapphire just sat there next to him as he stood. He thought Good girl Sapphire but please stay this way while here. Sapphire has some temperment issues that need address but other than that and house training not to chew she is a well train dog. He stilled need to work on her barking too. |

Rylee raises an eyebrow,"Does this look like the K9 kennels to you?" Rylee watches as Wolfred heads into his office, grab his coat, then exit his office, and then exits the floor. Headed to the elevator and down. No doubt to take a break. Rylee's grey gaze flickers to Alex. "So, either go put her there. Or take her home." Rylee leans forward,"And that's an order." Her voice was stern, and annoyed. She found it hard to believe that Wolfred had allowed the dog to stay. Detectives weren't known for having K9's. That was for the uniforms, not detectives.
Hell, it was hard enough for Rylee to convince Wolfred to let her have Titan and Hades. Titan was retired. And Wolfred rarely even let Hades into the field. K9's were not the detectives field, especially homicide detectives. They were for the police officers, usually like on task force, or FBI, or SWAT, things like that. Rylee sighs,"You've got ten minutes. When the other detectives get back, then your time is up." Rylee returns to her paperwork, she didn't want any more arguments. She wanted the order carried out. And she sure as hell didn't want to deal with a rookie who wouldn't even listen to the simplest of orders.
What happens if they were in the field trying to take down a murderer and he ignored her order. It could get him killed, or someone else killed, or injured. Orders were meant to be followed. Which was practically the only reason that Rylee had allowed Wolfred to assign her a rookie. He was her superior, and his orders were to be followed. No matter how much she disliked it. If it weren't for the rookie, she woulda joined the other detectives and the captain and gone out for a break. But now she was stuck with the rookie. When he finally obeyed, she would give him a tour of the precinct. Then they'd go from there. |
