—— TO STOP A BEATING HEART ——

Ever since the fall (or assisted implosion) of Kingdom Majia—the Heart of Magic—the magical balance of the world has been fatally unstable. In an effort to maintain balance, magic split itself into chunks—and hunted for a new place to call home. At first, it failed, shoving itself into people who couldn't handle so much power, driving them mad, and further worsening magic's already off-kilter state. Only more than a decade later did it finally find what it sought: two men with enough magical affinity to withstand pure, sheer magical power. So much magic is stored within their bodies that they have become magic itself.

Now, the two have a mission: find a way to fix the world, to mend magic's broken heart. Whether they are willing to sacrifice their time and energy into a world that cares about no one and nothing will depend on fate. If they manage, they will need to travel from Kingdom to Kingdom—all of which despise magic—just for the measly purpose of stitching together a shattered heart. Not to mention "despise" being a severe understatement, for the level of animosity these kingdoms have for magic—shown in their brutal shunning (and sometimes downright slaughter) of those with the gift of tapping into a power beyond the physical realm—is nearly incomprehensible.

Well, it's not like they have a choice anyway.

The continent of Mageia, more commonly known as “The Land” or “Land,” is divided into a multitude of realms.
REALMS
There used to be hundreds of realms (or nations) a mere century ago, but Mageia has been reduced to having only six (seven if the fallen kingdom of Majia is included). The primary language of Mageia is known as Lishenel. Each realm has its own way of speaking it, known as "dialects," but every individual can speak what is known as Common Lishenel, which is known as the universal tongue. Some realms do not have their dialects as their first way of tongue and instead speak in Common Lishenel; however, the written way of tongue is always in each realm’s respective dialect. The currency is known as “Girma” (named after Girmaon, which was once the provider of wealth) and is incredibly simple: gold coins are worth 1000 girma, silver coins are worth 500 girma, iron coins are worth 300 girma, copper coins are worth 200 girma, and bronze coins are worth 100 girma. Each realm is unique in terms of culture, technology, geography, politics, goals, and everything else in-between—but they are unified in their... hatred of magic.

Amlriyax (Kingdom)
A realm "affectionately" dubbed "The Kingdom of Drunkards," Amlriyax is known for its monopoly on the wine industry and its confusing politics. Merely a decade ago, it was once a political power, but its strength relied on corruption and Majia's protection. Without Majia to keep it standing, it has begun to crumble.

Geography
Amlriyax lies in a temperate deciduous forest with warm green rolling hills and fields scattered throughout. Its inner territory is primarily flat, but mountainous terrain coats all of its eastern and northern borders, likely providing the reason as to why Girmaon has never once entertained the thought of conquering their land. The mountains have contributed to Amlriyax’s weaker ties with Girmaon and Taylbakus and their stronger ties with Kipokl and Cirmaia. Their territory amasses to 70,000 square leagues (210,000 square miles).
Structure
The Kingdom of Amlriyax is composed of three cities, a near-infinite number of villages, and the Lasairfhíona Winery. The three cities are as follows: Lia, Iry, and Fyl. The cities are densely packed together, separated only by thick, tall walls, and are positioned in such a way where they surround a castle in the middle. The castle is where the leaders of each clan that governs each city come together to make decisions. The villages provide the cities with resources. The Lasairfhíona Winery, located aways from Lia City, is the only alcohol business in the entirety of Amlriyax, having killed off its competitors years ago. It holds a monopoly over the wine industry of Amlriyax (if not all of Mageia), its sole competitor being the юго-восток бляц of Taylbakus.

Politics
Amlriyax was once run under a military dictatorship. When the kingdom became corrupt, three individuals—known as the Founders—rebelled and transformed the realm’s political system into a separation of powers. Authority is supposedly distributed among three political branches: Laoire, Iomchadh, and Feidhelm, governed by the Laoire Clan, Ioamchadh Clan, and Feidhelm Clan, respectively. This was done by the Founders in an attempt to ensure that power wouldn’t be concentrated in the hands of a single group of individuals.
The House of Laoire enforces laws and has control over the military. They are stationed in Lia City.
The House of Iomchadh makes laws. They are stationed in Iyr City.
The House of Feidhelm evaluates laws, adjudicating legal disputes and disagreements between the previous two. They make decisions based on The Supreme Laws, which were established by the Founders. They are stationed in Fyl City.
They are known for many things, but mostly for their corruption. They have always been corrupt, but took it further after Majia’s fall when the Laoire Clan, having control over the military, locked the realm in a seemingly permanent state of emergency, bringing forth a martial law that prevented the other clans from assuming any sort of control even over the cities they legally governed. The House of Laoire, thus, established a military dictatorship. Since the Supreme Law is against military dictatorships, the House of Laoire found a loophole to retain their power by disguising their political system as an absolute monarchy. Their absolute monarch, Deidre Riyax, is a mere figurehead whacked into the system for the sake of maintaining their alliances with the other realms.
Political Affiliations
Amlriyax was once closely tied with Majia, but something happened between the two realms at some point and the kingdom began to back away until Majia fell. Now, Amlriyax is closely tied to Kipokl as trading partners. Queen Deidre Riyax has also formed a loose alliance with the so-called King of Thieves, not because she believes they have something to offer but because she thinks he's cool and the only one who's willing to put up with her. Amlriyax has a tense relationship with Garjiang after the latter realm began to claim the waters around their land as part of their territory. They are neutral with Girmaon and Taylbakus.
Military
Their military is known as the Chivalric Order of Amlriyax. They are divided into six separate orders or companies, each led by a captain, all of whom are beneath the Grand Commander. Rankings go as follows: Grand Commander, Grand Captain, Captain, Grand Officer, Officer, Grand Knight, Knight, Chevalier, and Squire. Their strength lies in their infantry, but some companies have strong cavalry arms. Their mercenaries are second-best to Girmaon’s. Their current Grand Commander is Blaine Furgus, the extremely corrupt son-of-a-bitch currently controlling all of Amlriyax.
Religion
They are monotheists who believe in a single god known simply as “God.” Their faith is quite popular in the Land and is seen commonly throughout several kingdoms (sans Majia). They have an average of two churches established per city. The other realms, primarily Taylbakus, often mock Amlriyax often by stating, “Their God must be too drunk to bring them back up there, eh?” This pisses off Grand Commander Blaine Furgus (Queen Deidre Riyax couldn’t give any less of a shit)—not because they’re mocking his god, but because they’re implying that Amlriyax’s power has lessened considerably. Amlriyax is said to be a highly religious realm (going so far as to punish whoever uses their God’s name in vain, i.e. cussing with words such as “goddamn” or “God’s blood.” Strangely, “fuck” and “cunt” are in their Holy Scripture…), but no one knows how to be religious.

Ikio is as average as a man can be—or so he claims. His frame is slight and slender, bones more than pronounced against his skin, lithesomeness (verging on tenuousness) hidden behind layer upon layer of fabric in an almost obsessive means to hide as much flesh as he can from the world. His hair is neither dull nor bright in its splendor of copper, nestled upon his head in a mess of curls and untamed locks, the strands dangling past pierced ears and eyebrows to conceal the scar marring his forehead, and caressing his jaw as if in gentle comfort. His face is a touch of handsome, with sharp cheekbones, a near-perfect symmetrical bone structure, and a surprisingly angular, yet still soft, jawline, coupled with just the slightest touch of freckles on those oh-so-squishable cheeks. He is one many do bat a single eye at. The measly and insignificant do not acknowledge the existence of the likes of him.

Just as he wanted. Just as he wants.

If he was to just take care of himself a little more, to show off more of his effulgent ivory skin, to comb his hair from being a disaster to something more pleasant to the eyes, to wear a smile that doesn't look the slightest bit fake nor tired, he would have looked beautiful. But Ikio is not one to draw attention to himself. No, he's done with having eyes fixed on every inch of his body, and will do his very best to keep things as they are now: him hidden somewhere in the background, stirring up meaningless trouble, a shadow to be lost to time.

And lost to time he will be. He will do everything in his power to be someone so very close to the farthest end of the theater that he is all but engulfed in darkness. He will cloak himself in the farce of average for as long as he can, a foolish wish of his that surfaces in everything that he is: in his drab clothing; in the way he walks, he moves, talks; in the way he smiles, neither too wide nor as barely a twitch, never genuine but still reaches those dismal amber eyes, neither fake nor true—as everything he is and will ever be.


Scars
: He has small tears at the edges of his mouth, barely noticeable against his full lips. He has many... marks on his thighs. Crisscrossing white lines mar his back. One could say that his pierced earlobes are scars as well, considering how he got them. The most distinct and easily seen of the bunch, however, would be the ragged, long white line races from directly above his left eyebrow diagonally to under his hairline on the right side of his face. This... imperfection marring his forehead is hidden behind his bangs most of the time. He has many other scars that can't be seen, though. Ones borne from a... certain kind of forcefulness. But the worst would be the long-ago healed stab wound on his chest, mere inches from his heart. The skin is ragged and puckered. His stomach twists in revulsion whenever he sees it, but he likes to think that he takes pride in its existence, considering how it goes to show that even something so lethal failed to kill him. He knows exactly why the sight disgusts him: he wishes, sometimes, that knife hit its target.

ATTIRE
Ikio is often seen wearing a basic dark brown tunic with darker brown highlights and near-black brown hosen pants. His clothing is always far too big on him; they’re extraordinarily baggy and appear almost uncomfortable to walk properly in, but Ikio makes it work. Shoewear is kept simple: he need only smack on whatever leather boots are available to him and he's good to go, so long as they're dark in color and long enough to climb up his ankles (not that their true length is ever really seen, considering his pants never cease to consume quite literally two-thirds of his shoes). A constant in his attire is his woolen, raven-black long coat, one that is fashioned with a hood that he is never publicly seen to make use of. He doesn’t pay much attention to what he wears. All that matters to him is that they're long enough to cover every. single. inch of his skin.
As for... other very specific occasions, Ikio's clothing becomes more complicated, though only in style and type than in color. He wears all black: a black tunic; a black hosen; a black hood, attached to a cape, which isn't given free range to dance in the breeze, being constricted by his raven-black jacket; yet another black hood, attached to a shorter cape that goes around his shoulders; his aforementioned raven-black jacket; and, finally, black leather boots. Instead of being baggy, the majority of this ensemble—sans his onyx jacket, of course—is much more close-fitting, though doesn't quite hug his skin. Something unusual that comes along with this outfit is the long strip of torn and battered silk that can be found sewed into the portion of his outermost hood; the silk often dangles behind him in the breeze, like a broken cape. Perhaps it means something to him.

ACCESSORIES
He wears a very simple beaded bracelet. Most of the beads are black, with one small yellow bead, an even smaller white bead, and one blue bead. The string keeping the bracelet together has almost completely snapped in half, but still remains on his wrist—by pure spite, it seems.
He also carries around a black, belt bag, which is attached to... well, his belt. He only wears it when he's going about being the infamous Shadow Thief, though. He carries around with him a… rather large sack with drawstrings, as well, when he’s not being the Shadow Thief.

Voice
: Rather soft and charming, delivered incredibly boisterous and loud. He always sounds as if he's smiling, as if he's planning something mischievous, but there's a hint of... unsureness in his words, insecurity and awkwardness, perhaps stemming from a lack of social awareness. He presents his laughter with raucous and hitch-pitched cackles, but his genuine laughter is much deeper than his speaking voice, and is quiet yet bright—two words that feel strange when associated with him.
Accent: A clear accent, one that changes depending on what region he's found himself in and for how long he's been there, with just the very slightest hint of a Majian accent via the Majian dialect.
Handwriting: He doesn’t know how to write.
Handedness: Left-handed.

Ah, how does one possibly describe this man? Perhaps, to begin with, he is mysterious, someone who seems so open but no one can quite get a proper read on. He is so very clearly mischievous, as can be easily discerned by how his eyes brighten whenever he thinks up some sort of shenanigan, and yet it is not often he gives in to true rascality, content to perform only mild misdoings whenever necessary simply as a means to keep himself alive; what absurd things he gets himself into are done in the presence of a good few he can’t say he’s fond of. He can be charismatic and charming, blithesome and merry, magnetic and alluring to the eyes of the naïve, and yet he keeps to himself, a rare figure to be seen wandering openly in the streets. He is beyond talkative, a mess of word vomit and nonsensical sentences, but leave him alone and he’ll do nothing but stare into an abyss only he can see. He is a show-off, his smirks arrogant at times, and he might even speak proudly and over-exaggerate his accomplishments, but he is as self-critical as a man can be and cannot stand being himself. He is tired, but prone to boredom, and so he will carry on despite his insatiable longing to dig a hole and become one with the loam forever. He wishes to do no good because good brings attention and he despises attention, but his moral code is too strong for him to ignore. He is intelligent, his eyes sharp and astute, capable of seeing monsters behind kind eyes, and yet he is the very definition of dumb of ass. An idiot, a fool everyone can take amusement in, a master of making a moron of himself—though whether this is done on purpose, not even he's for certain. He is this, but is that, over and over again: a walking contradiction.

He is a liar. His lies are so perfect they've become the truth. It's the only way he's survived. If he can't find a way to run away—from every problem, from every inconsequential thing, from life itself—he will lie, and he will keep lying until he is one with the dirt.

He is afraid. Of what? Of everything, one might say. For good reason or not is irrelevant; he would be afraid forever if he was allowed to be.

Not that anyone knows. He's good at hiding behind smiles.

He is a treasured anomaly. The amount of power he holds is ridiculous. With a full 70% of all magic, if he was trained, he could access every branch of magic. If he bothered to make use of the only good thing this sick world gave him, he could create and destroy anything at the snap of a finger. He can be said to be half of magic’s heart itself, after all. But Ikio only just makes use of his abilities, choosing to do nothing more than basic manipulation of shadows. For someone so powerful, you'd think he'd be using it all the time, but he hates his magic more than he hates himself, so a vast majority of his magical power lays dormant, sitting lonely and unused in some cavity he's forced it to linger in as he continues to reject who he is and what he can do.

Always On His Person
- A worn, rusted, blood-stained dagger. He has somewhat of an attachment to it, which is why he doesn't really use it. He simply drags it around to flaunt to whoever whenever appropriate. When asked, he'll state that it's the knife that plunged right into his chest, mere inches from his heart, and failed to kill him. He doesn't say anything else, preferring to brush off his brief introduction to death with an exaggerated shrug instead of delving into details he'd rather forget. -

- A slim, very sharp dagger of good condition. -

- Two daggers with rather wide girths. Their respective conditions vary, ranging from absolutely filthy one day to so clean the sun envies their glinting surfaces; it depends on Ikio's motivation to clean his weapons. -
- Many, many knives. The sheer number of knives on this man's body is just truly astounding. -

- Several knives and daggers of varying conditions. He keeps what he can’t have with him at all times in his sack. -

- A broken bow. Ikio holds a very strong attachment to it. He keeps it in as good of a condition as something snapped completely in half can be. Demelza (Ally)—another master of illegal trade. After that… stunt she pulled a few years back, Ikio lost what little respect he had for her, but he continues to put up with her if only for the resources she provides him.
Presley (Ally)—her obnoxious pranks are the epitome of annoying even to someone like Ikio, but she knows more about the black market than Bahja and Demelza combined. Sometimes, she tries to underprice him, but a quick glint of a knife has her re-learning exactly what it means to be fair.

He is so incredibly, intrinsically certain that he has buried every aspect of his... previous lives—so to speak—before Irving Ashwood that a mere mention of something related to his past, be it direct or indirect, can send him into a panic attack.
- He resents his father deeply. Ikio refuses to refer to the man by name, simply calling him "That Man" whenever he comes up in conversation. He has attempted to forget about him, but the hatred he has in his heart for That Man is simply too great, and Ikio is stuck knowing exactly how That Man looked, acted, and smiled. What Ikio doesn't remember, however, is why he hates That Man so much—perhaps this is for the better. -
- Ikio "inherited" his proneness to cursing from his mother. -
- Ikio knows several Srulva curses from both his sister and his mother. He also acquired a Vlassan taste from them. -
- He vaguely remembers the names of the individuals he was with during his early years as a thief. He doesn't remember where he met them, how he met them, or any of his time with them, but he thinks they were his friends, that they were... good friends. -
- He refuses to acknowledge the existence of a certain someone who betrayed him. He refers to this person simply as "A Friend with Silk". He has forgotten the details related to this individual, but he does remember the bastard's name and, vaguely, how he looked. -
- He remembers a blurry face and a blurry smile from his childhood, when he could more easily pretend that everything was okay. He doesn't remember this friend's name, gender, appearance, personality—anything, really; but, he does remember how they loved to read books about magic and mythical beings together and that he broke a promise they'd made with each other. -
- He remembers that he was from Majia. He remembers nothing about how Majia looked. He doesn't remember the violence during Garjiang's take-over. -

The first thing one sees when looking at Kalevi is his generally groomed and neat appearance, bearing skin pale as ivory that's just about unblemished, clearly well taken care of. He has no freckles, birthmarks or acne to be seen. His face is framed with a head of midnight black locks so dark they take on a blue sheen in the moonlight, mainly straight with only the slightest wave to them. He carefully brushes back his bangs so they don't fall in his face, not a single strand to be out of place. His teeth are perfectly straight and a pearly white, visible in his polite smiles that he pulls often. His figure is lithe and lean from practice, and with his crown further holding his hair back and jewelry framing his face, as well as his generally formal attire, he truly looks like what he is - royalty.

Now that the first impressions are out of the way, let's describe him in more detail, yes?

Kalevi is average. Remarkably average, actually. He wears awful pretty clothes and jewelry that help to highlight his good features, and added with makeup, he seems quite elegant, but in reality the person he is after all that is far different from who he is when he wakes up in the morning. To start, built thinner than he is muscular -- whatever muscle he's doesn't really add to his appearance at all, actually. He certainly looks well-built under a layer or two of clothes, but none of it is defined in the least; he's barely any more than skinny, actually. He has some strength in there, but it's hardly remarkbale, and he has no abs or biceps to be found. He has a diamond shaped face with no notable cheekbones, and there's really nothing there to say about his jawline. He wears heeled boots that make him an inch taller than he actually is. He has dark bags under his eyes and a beauty mark lining his jaw beside his ear, both easily covered up by a layer of makeup. His hair falls too wildly over his face unless he purposefully pushes it back, and it grows far too fast for his liking, too. His eyelashes are thick, similar to his hair, but they're hardly lush, and his eyes have a cold, dull look to them that unsettle anyone who look too long when Kalevi thinks no one's looking -- hardly pretty, to say the least.

Not that anybody actually knows that, of course. The most impressive part about the stark difference between Kalevi's appearance and the way he looks when he's all dressed up is that he does it all by himself, every single morning, as soon as he wakes up. Suppose that means he cleans up nice, mm?

Scars: Kalevi isn't excessively scarred -- his scars are thin and few and far inbetween, evidently from practice more than any real danger. His hands are slightly calloused with a thin scar running across his left, his only actually visible scar. Otherwise, he has one across his collarbone to his mid-chest, two crossing his back and some unhealed scrapes and bruises on his knees and elbows.

Tattoos: Though usually concealed by his shirt, he has a tattoo spanning the whole of his back of thorned black vines tangled with one another, partially hiding the full moon underneath. Otherwise, though, he has none.

ATTIRE
Kalevi dresses to impress the majority of the time, often found in coats woven with intricate golden designs, button-ups with high collars, and always at least some jewelry. He generally makes sure to be more on the professional side -- he usually has layered clothing (no matter how hot it may be) for the sheer sake of looking presentable. He often wears gloves (it's a mix of hiding his scars and just thinking they look fancy) and a crown that circles all the way around his head, glinting in the sunlight.

That, however, is what he usually wears. As for what he'll wear when on this trip, when he's doing just about the opposite of keeping up appearances? He'll probably choose his preferred outfit -- simply, it's a clean white linen shirt, dark boots that end a bit below his knees and black pants, and a belt to which his weapons and bag is attached. Nothing more, nothing less. He'll likely wear a dark hooded cloak for the sake of disguises, not that he really needs the disguise.


ACCESSORIES

Kalevi has quite the collection of jewelry. A variety of golden necklaces, bejeweled earrings, glimmering bracelets, etc. -- where it came from (considering the royalty's lack of riches in comparison to those of other kingdoms), he doesn't bother to ask. He's not the one who supplied them, and he's pretty sure he already knows, anyhow. He makes good use of them all, though -- seitches through them regularly, though one thing he does make regular use of is his crown.

On his trip through the kingdoms, he will not bother to bring any of them.

Voice: Ordinarily, his voice is clear and loud; it's slightly deep and easy to project, and it has a slight lilt to it that makes just about anything he says sound polite, no matter how blunt it may be. That's all purposeful, though -- when he stops caring, it gets far lower and more deadpan. Just about recognizable, actually, even more so when he's pissed or embarrassed -- it gets especially raspy, then, almost sounding like he hasn't had water in months.

Accent: Slight Amlrik (British) accent. It's mostly faded since his childhood, but there's still some hints of it in the way he pronounces some of his words.

Handwriting: Pretty as hell. He's excellent with calligraphy and he writes with a slow and steady hand to put beautiful flows and curls on the page -- unless he's pissed, of course, in which case it's chicken scratch.

Handedness: Ambidextrous. Trained, not natural; he's ordinarily right-handed.

Kalevi's personality isn't too strong or notable. He's relatively polite but leaning towards the cold, being just as nice as he needs to be, speaking with an authority that draws all eyes to him the moment he opens his mouth. He's refined, but not excessively so; he's frank with his thoughts, to the point where it would be rude if he didn't phrase it so and take the tone of voice he always does. He has an air of carefulness about him, like he's planning every move he makes, like he's figured out everything that's going to happen before it even comes into play. He makes his decisions in a moment's notice, always having input, always have something of value to add. Never caught off guard, never to crack and break, all while regarding the people around him with perfectly cold, dead eyes... he's nothing if he's not a leader.

That is to say, he's nothing.

Nothing about his personality is real -- not his politeness, not his carefulness, and most certainly not his confidence. There's a level of disconnect between everything he does, everything he pretends to be and himself, like he's viewing the world from the eyes of someone else. At least it's come with some pluses, though. For one, Kalevi is insanely good at pretending -- good at doing voices, good at adopting a personality that isn't his own, good at acting like someone he's not.

He doesn't know shit about himself and, really, he hasn't really thought about it at all. If there was one thing to claim as his own, though, it's his persistence -- and jesus, is he persistent. If he's set on learning something, on knowing something, on doing something, he will do it. No matter how many tries it takes, how many times he falls or is shoved down, he will pull through, a trait that's pretty damn useful considering how many things he's tried his hand at and been terrible at in the past. Kalevi'll probably find more traits of his own sometime soon, though, considering where he'll be going.

His main and best skill can't really be described as anything other than "acting". He's great at acting - give him some sort of baseline and he'll be able to play the role incredibly well. Otherwise, he's good at leading, stealing, learning new skills and swordfighting.

With a full 30% of all the magic in the world, Kalevi has an insane amount of power. Enough to destroy the planet, if he wanted -- not that he can really use it. He's a king -- he has a reputation to uphold, and using magic that'd been banned and hunted for over a decade would be another death wish on his ever climbing list of things threatening his life. He's practiced in private before, but while he's well aware of his ability and what it means his birthplace was, he has no idea of the magnitude of his power, nor why he has it.

- His sword. It's a simple thing, with a blade made of steel and a brown handle he's wrapped in bandages. It's built for stability and to be easy to wield, so it isn't much to look at, but it's trusty. -

- A pair of throwing daggers. Not much to comment on them. -

- A hatchet -- it's multi-purpose! -

- A bow and arrow. He's better with short range than long, but he's still great with a bow and tries to get in practice whenever he can. -

- Just about any other weapon, really. He has quite the variety in his castle and practices with almost all of them, often, so he's often found with one of them in hand. -

- His father's old spear, etched in gold and beautiful designs of the kingdom's history. He refuses to use it and he hasn't even bothered to learn how. -

Ambrose Chapman (Family Friend) — After Kalevi’s father’s death, one of his friends took it upon himself to be Kalevi’s makeshift advisor whenever he’s available. Kalevi insists that he doesn’t need it, though.
Dalia Bennett (Guard) — Dalia is an awful strong woman, and a great watchman, at that. Kalevi has a great amount of trust in her and her abilities.
Alaric Bennett (Guard) — What possessed the man before him to hire a pair of twins to be his child’s guard, he didn’t know, but they sure don’t get along. Alaric is just as strong as his sister and specializes in long-range, but he tussles with his other half quite a lot. Kalevi doesn’t mind it, though - it makes quite the entertainment.
Deidre Riyax (Allied Queen) — Probably the most incompetent noble Kalevi has the pleasure of knowing. She’s his best (and only) ally thanks to all the resources her kingdom has access to from their previous power, but they’re not friends, oh god no they aren’t friends.

ACQUAINTANCES
Cirmaia’s citizens (Subjects) — The size of the kingdom had shot through the roof relatively recently, so Kalevi couldn’t possibly know all of them personally. Still, he strolls through the neighborhood nearby often and knows most of the people there on a surface level. They all know him, though (obviously), though opinions on his rulership are pretty mixed, something unlike any of the royalty before him.

FRIENDS
Nelly (Cat) — A cat who shows up at the back castle gates at 3:00 every day. He’s always sure to leave out food for her, and in the rare moments he has free time, he sits with her. She seems to like him.


FAMILIARS

M I S C E L L A N E O U S

- His outfits were all things his father gave him to wear before he passed away. He has a pretty wide wardrobe from him. -

- The only thing from that wardrobe he refuses to wear is his father's old cape, a long, royal blue thing made from the loveliest of velvets edged with fine fur. It was his father's favorite, and Kalevi has vowed never to wear it. -

- He knows curse words from every language and has just about memorized them, as they were the first things he learned from picking them up on the streets as a child. When not in king mode, he'll usually try to use insults he thinks the person he's talking to won't understand. -

- He has a special admiration for strong workers, like laborers or guards. The stronger you are, the cooler he thinks you are, basically. -

- He does actually take advantage of his acting skills beyond king mode. He knows a local tavern with incredible food that he goes to often, acting bubbly and cheerful and earning himself free meals and bear hugs (he doesn't like them, but he sure does get them!) from those who frequent it. -

- They often call him "boy" and comment on how tired he looks, though. He isn't a fan of that. -

- I have a voice claim for him, but I'm embarrassed to say because of the media it's from so you will not be hearing who. -

- Every trait marked down as "depends" is a trait he has now that'll end up going down the drain as he finds himself and his personality. He'll always have the skill of dissimulation, though, so he can go back to those traits if absolutely required of him, but he'll hate it. -

- All of his empathy is entirely fake. His understanding of people's feelings are entirely surface level, and he adapts accordingly. It's not out of passion. -
