Shadow heard the gun shot and started for the forest. Once in, he waited until the mushers were close before running steadily beside them. If the mushers noticed, they didn't yell anything. Stretching his legs, he pulled up in sight of the lead dogs. One team was going at a steady pace and another was at a full sprint. Cutting behind the steady pacers, he came alongside the sprint team pulling even with them. One dog barked and the musher caught sight of him. Yelling, he cracked his whip near Shadow. Shaking his head, he made it to the front lines where he gave a toothy grin to the lead dog before making it back into the woods as they came around a curve. Jumping over logs and weaving through trees, he kept alongside them before slowing his pace to match the steady team.

Hail seen the other team a head of them gunner was slowing down so she nipped at his legs to make him still run Gunner ran faster the usal Hail smiled and followed him with all of her speed almost pacing him but mad sure not to

Silver came upon a curve and leaped into the path, right behind both dog teams. A split in the path was up ahead but one was longer than the other. The sprint team was on the longer path. That will be funny. He thought, knowing they would try to sprint the whole time. Braking right, he jumped over logs and weaved the trees knowing that he would catch up to them at the next turn.

There was a big log coming up the other teams took the long way but Hails team didn't her owner yelled "Jumps" the listened and jumped over the huge log and was a head of every team

Silver stopped at the turn, hearing a team come around the corner. Keeping up with them while keeping at the edge of the woods, he watched as they listened to their musher with passion. I don't get why dogs listen to the humans. Sure you get food and water and exercise but what about the wanting to be free to run without the harness? Silver thought shaking his head.

They came closer and Closer to the finsh line making it into first place the Musher had stopped Hail's team and scrached their heads her owner un hooked them from the harness and said "be back by dawn" some of the dogs said with him but Hail walked off

Silver stopped close to town as the dog sleds went in for the finish. He watched for a couple seconds as the mushers started taking off harnesses before loping into the woods. He wasn't too far in when he smelled one of the husky's that had just come in first. His pelt allowed him to blend in with his surroundings before he started walking downwind. A dog in my territory, that's the first. He thought tracking her from the shadows quietly.

Hail walked into the woods and looked around trotting she liked the smell of the trees and fresh air wagging her tail she found a pound and drank from it thirstily the cold water had tasted very good she sat down and watched the fish go by

Silver watched the husky drink and walk before coming out of the shadows. Walking slowly to the other side, he took a drink before looking at the husky and asking, "What are you doing in my territory?"

Hail jumped a little looking at the wolf " sorry i didn't know this was your territory" she said looking at him this wolf dosnen't look like any other wolf i encountered she thought to herself
