Astrid found her composure after a long moment. She felt bad, he was over here trying to help her when she should be the one trying to help him. Wait, that gave her an idea. Her grey eyes bounced up to Nathaniel's. "Wait a minute! Maybe I can help you somehow, I can't just leave you here all alone for another hundred years can I. No way. Maybe I can help you figure it all out, I can help you move on. If you want me to that is, I don't want to intrude if you don't want me to."

Astrid's tears had dissolved quickly, and now she was looking at Nathaniel with a hopeful gaze. Beans wanted to help Nathaniel.

No one deserved to be alone.

Nathaniel looked... thoughtful, "I suppose that your attempts may come to fruition. I do not want to take away from your own mortality, so do not offer to take on a task that is too troublesome."

He would admit having another person's voice around brought great comfort. It was pleasant to have company, but Nathaniel also did not want to be a burden. This woman did have a life, and he did not want her to waste it. Nathaniel would know the pain of wasting away one's life, and how terribly short it can be cut.

A soft giggle bubbled from Astrid's chest, a smile on her face as she slowly stood up. Quickly dusting off her outfit with a mildly determined expression before meeting Nathaniel's gaze once again.

"For your information, I have nothing to do like ever. Once I upload these photos, my fans will be sated for awhile and I'll be free for a week or two. Considering how absolutely massive this place is, I'd say I have enough material for three photoshoots. Meaning I'll be able to come often anyways." Astrid shrugged, despite her popularity and abundance of friends, she hardly ever spent time with them. Her friends didn't find her idea of fun very enjoyable.

Particularly the whole camping thing that Bean loved doing.

"Basically, I think I can help you out." Astrid grinned, grey eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Fans?" Nathaniel echoed, "Photoshoots?" The words were foreign and unfamiliar. He silently wondered how much the world had changed without him for not the first time. He shook off the words, "I am not sure how much assistance can be given," Nathaniel said bluntly, "I would like to learn about what happened after my death involving Christian, and what has happened to Scotland since then, though, so perhaps there are books about what went on?"

Astrid winced, oh poor guy she had so much to teach him. She had to catch him up on everything. Though she supposed she would have to leave out the interesting tid bits and actually explain what had happened in all the years he'd been stuck here. Juicy drama and secrets could be held off for a later time.
"Oh of course there are! Granted I'd have to get a few books, as history is never entirely accurate and no one source would do it justice. History is awfully tricky, even I have a hard time with it and my memory is excellent." Beans suddenly realized that she probably wasn't being too comforting.

"I can get you books and stuff, and I'll help you out with everything for as long as I can. I'll explain anything you don't quite understand if the books don't explain it properly. I'm gonna help you out as much as I possibly can." Beans tilted her head to the side and beamed at Nathaniel, her friendliness covering the room with a warm glow.

Nathaniel didn't seem concerned. He used to also take information from multiple sorces in order to even slightly trust it. Besides, he wasn't to certain how accurate history books would be if they thought that Chrisitan was a good person, and that he was evil and murdered his whole family.

"Many thanks..... I do not know your name. Many apologies - that should have been one of my first inquiries," Nathaniel frowned slighly. He manners should not be slipping when he finally had human contact for the first time in ages.

Astrid was very tempted to giggle at Nathaniel's old timey talk, but she managed to restrain herself. She supposed it was normal for him, but for her, he sounded like he'd came straight out of a movie. "Oh! Don't worry about it, we've been talking for awhile anyways, I should've introduced myself sooner. My name is Astrid, but my friends call me Beans. I don't really know why," Astrid giggled softly. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she was small or something, she didn't really know, regardless, she quite liked the name.

"Beans?" Nathaniel repeated, quirking up an eyebrow, "Like the food, beans? That terminology has not changed since my time, has it?" How odd society had become. Such a nickname would be unheard of in Nathaniel's time.

"Well, Miss Astrid, since you did agree to explain things to me, pray tell, what is the strange black box you peer into?" It had been a nagging question in the back of Nathaniel's mind, and now that Astrid seemed to be over the fact that there was a ghost talking to her, he figured he might as well try to understand this new culture.

A girlish giggle escaped Astrid's lips at Nathaniel's confusion. She didn't quite understand it either, but he was struggling much more with it than she'd been. Granted he'd been a ghost stuck in an abandoned manor for hundreds of years.

The box question confused Astrid for a moment, before she realized he was talking about her camera. "Oh! You mean my camera? It takes pictures, I'm pretty sure the first one had been invented a few years before you.. well... you know." Astrid cleared her throat, "anyways! It's just a lot more advanced than it was back then. It takes pictures in color now and everything is much clearer and precise, you can even change the way the colors look if you edit it properly." Astrid was practically beaming with happiness, she obviously enjoyed talking about photography. Very much so.

"I'm actually a proffesional photographer, it's my job. That's why I was here, I'd heard about this place and I saw a picture of the outside and I knew I had to come here. It's beautiful." Astrid gave Nathaniel a pleasant smile, at this point she'd forgotten to be afriad of ghosts.

"Camera?" Nathaniel tested out the word slowly, then nodded, "Yes... It does sound vaguely familiar. It was said to have trapped moments in time for people to view whenever they wished."

The picture box - the camera - sounded like magic. It was an odd tool, although Nathaniel supposed it could be an entertaining object. "You have a job? And... you also wear pants. Have women come to stand equally beside a man?" That would be pleasant. No more constant bowing and scampering to be out of the way. A lady could simply... be there, unapologetic and bold. It was about time.
