Victoria Arpina || Erren || Snapped Second || Beast: Eidrune || Mentions: Other Snapped (Ind), Eidrune (Dir)

Victoria let out a —unnecessarily loud— blow of her breath, her hair moving out of her face for a brief moment before the wind forcefully pushed it back. The heat and barrenness of the Djali tribe's desert were draining, and now the flat plains were proving to be much the same. The girl's blue eyes narrowed, causing her fiery hair to tangle in her eyelashes. The wind ignored the annoyance evident on her face and continued to tear across the open field. The gale swept up memories of trekking through the mountain forest.

The trees had done little to stop the chill of the altitude and the wind from sending a shiver racking her body. Her arms stayed by her side, the urge to cover her bare arms squashed by the nagging of her mother that would come from it. Hands constantly pulled stray hairs back into their predetermined place. Not even the great forces of nature could be allowed to break down what generations had built up. If working, not a hair should be unplaced; unnecessary chatter is to be kept to a minimum, and most importantly, let the ripping wind fan not the flames of your feelings. The wind grew stronger and swirled wildly, faster and faster, until it felt it would rip apart skin. Unrelenting with its force and its whispers-haunting with its murmurs blow through the leaves and bushes.

A particularly hard slap of hair against her face brought Victoria back to the present. Her eyes screwed into a scowl as she let out another grumble of disapproval.

Angry, blue-green eyes scanned the ragtag group. They had set up a makeshift camp to avoid the beaming sun. Supplies were understandably low; the group had begun with nothing and gained very little from their desert raids. The redhead hadn't been a fan of the bleak desert even before the fateful ceremony, but, with most of their group from the said barren wasteland, it was inevitable they'd end up there eventually. Trading one empty land for another wasn't ideal, but this was empty land with grass so it's a win. Finally, her eyes met the light grey ones she had been secretly hoping to find. A bright, toothy smile beamed across her face, a childish look of wonder spreading in seconds. Victoria gave a wave to the horselike animal. There casually stood the fulfillment of the dream--her dream, right?-- that she had been born for. The many animals drawn into her markings seemed to run along her arm, joining in her joy.

They had been bonded for a week now, yet, the number of words spoken between them could be counted on two hands. The only moments of pseudo closeness appeared during the raid. Victoria shuddered when she thought back on them. That feeling--god, what she'd do to get it back. It was like the feeling of food and water after a fast, the pure happiness that came with finally eating your fill after so long. The things she made those people feel; fear, anger, pity. They should be grateful they get to freely feel like this. Even when she wanted to be selfish and keep them to herself, she gave them to others. True kindness.

Tukaii || Seeker || Second || Phoenix || M: Michael, Onyx, (Cairo, Theo, Sorren, Kavik, Calamity Ind.)
.
Tukaii shifted her gazed with Onyx, looking at the pair, Cairo and Theo, standing a little ways from the group. They seemed distant. Not that she minded, everyone had their limits when socializing. She thought they seemed rather peaceful. Standing there together with only their thoughts and each other's company.
.
She snapped back to reality at the sound of Onyx's voice speaking to her. "I bear no malice Onyx. You've been nothing but kind to me." She said to the impressive dragon sincerely. Her feathers brushed against the tree causing scorch marks along the trees tough exterior.
.
Michael's voice drew her attention away from Onyx and she looked down at the black haired young man. She hadn't realized he was down there. "Apologies, I didn't see you." She paused. "You don't happen to have any snacks do you?" She then cooed towards her bonded human. Her hunger was becoming apparent.
.
I wonder what is to happen when we come upon the snapped. She thought to herself absent mindedly while she stretched out her wings and flew to the ground close to Michael. Her falcon-like talons gripping the rock she had landed on. Without warning a thud resonated the area. She lifted her neck while peering over bodies of both human and beast.
.
What laid there, still warm, were two small deer. Who stood over them was no one but Calamity. The hyena-like hellhound with looks that could kill. Tukaii was impressed with the hound's skill and she was glad to have her and her bonded human, Kavik, on this man, as well as beast, hunt. Breakfast. One of her favorite words. Onyx's orders followed shortly after the call to eat and she watched intently as Sorren went to work. To Tukaii, food brought everyone together. Made them more bonded to one another and therefore, a better team. She would wait though. Everyone needed to keep their strength up and she knew she wasn't the muscle of the group like the others. The bird was adaptable anyway. She could eat just about anything. Berries, plants, meat, fish and anything that was edible was fair game for her.
.
Her attention turned back to Michael. "Do you know where we are heading next?" They needed to discuss with Sorren and Onyx what their next move was. The sooner they found the Snapped. The better.

Michael Evans - Second Seeker - Beast: Tukaii - Mentions: Tukaii, Calamity, Kavik, Sorren, Cairo, Theo

Michael's attention was briefly taken off his bonded beast when the masive hellhound, Calamity was her name if he remembered correctly, returned with two deer. He had to admit, the hyena-like hellhound unnerved him to a degree. Something about her. Her human bond seemed to be less unnerving, the man kind of like him, more of a loner. And so he started slightly when Tukaii landed on the ground close to him, the thud making his gaze snap over to the direction of the sound. The tall phoenix's neck lifting her head tall in order to look over most of the group gathered. He was still in awe of the fiery creature; he had not thought he would have been bonded, but he had. And to a phoenix, the fire bird.

Watching as Sorren, the leader of their group, and the oldest of the humans gathered, started to get to work on the carcasses. Then his gaze drifted up to beast who had hunted them down, he didn't know exactly what it was about her that triggered the instinctual shiver down his spine; the feeling of being uneasy around her. He didn't know. While he severely doubted that she would do anything malicious to them, he was still uneasy. He'd have to do his best to get over it though, it probably wouldn't do for a second in command to be like around one of his technical 'subordinates'. Although he thought he detected a shiver of that same feeling in Sorren as well. So maybe it would be okay, as long as he didn't treat Calamity differently.

"Do you know where we are heading next?"

Michael's attention was brought back to the phoenix at her question, he paused, thinking for a moment. He glanced at Sorren again, then at Tukaii.

"I would have to check to make sure it hasn't been changed, but last I remember, we are going to a town to pick up supplies." He said slowly.

Pygmy || Male || Amphithere || Seeker Member || 50 Years || Human: Jade || M: Onyx (Ref), Calamity (Ref), Sorren (Ref), Jade

A thundering roar was what jolted Pygmy from his dream-filled rest. His sleek body – formerly splayed across several branches – was now wrapped completely around a single bough. His feathery-frill was standing up in fearful surprise, a mock attempt to make himself bigger. The other feathers along his body did the same, giving him more of a fluffy appearance rather than menacing. He was pressed tightly against the limb's bark – his yellow eyes carried slitted pupils that could be seen quivering slightly if one looked close enough.

The bird-snake remained in this position for some time before finally gathering up the courage to move about. His body loosened its grip, allowing him to lower his neck through the canopy. Everyone was at least somewhat relaxed, with the most worrying emotion being the exact one he himself had just experienced.

Another sound made the parakeet-green beast jump – this time a clash-like sound. He looks in the sound's general direction and spots Onyx – the group's leader – waking from his slumber. A few others were looking in his general direction as well. Oh! That would explain the roar! Must have been a yawn, considering everyone’s reactions, the beast concludes. His feathers lie flat at his new found observation, returning the male to his usual sleek form.

He quickly zips back into the leaves and begins grooming himself – cleaning any feathery regions he could reach of loose plumage. Though, he doesn’t bother grooming his scales. He had no need to, unless he started to shed. Once presentable, the amphithere swoops down into camp – stirring up some dust with his powerful wings.

As he lands, yet another sound resonates from the clearing. Calamity – who was now grooming her bloody paws – stood over two deer-like corpses by their fire’s charcoal remains. A call for breakfast comes from her, but is quickly shut down by Onyx’s own command (which may or may not have made him jump once again). Sorren, Onyx’s bonded, proceeds to cut the carcasses following the fire drake’s command – throwing a chunk of meat towards his dear friend while doing so. Pygmy cringes at the sight of it, finding no appeal in such a meal. Turning away from the appalling mess, he slithers over to Jade to scour her supplies for any “edible” food – cheerfully greeting anyone he passes along the way.

“Hey Jade, got any coconuts?”

Cairo || Unicorn || Seeker || M: Theo, Other Seekers (Ind)

Cairo lowered his massive head and released a snort at Theo's words. It was the equivalent of an amused laugh rather than being a sound of irritation; the difference was small between the two, especially for the unicorn. Shaking himself off, he dramatized, "Softie? Me? I should be offended."

What could be described as a sort of smile crossed the stallion's features, upper lip peeling away to reveal a little more of his fangs. Oh, to be alone again. Away from drama, away from humans, away from other creatures. He would never admit it, but all of the massive predators -- especially Calamity, though he held no offense toward her -- was making him uneasy. Cairo had always been a solitary creature, and having been chosen with Theo by the human's chieftan to join this quest had thrown a hefty ranch in his plans to remain alone. Well, alone besides Theo, anyways.

Cairo's leg began twitching with an itch, and he stretched it out in front of him as far as it would go. His long, black horn quickly made contact with -- and eliminated -- the irritating feeling with a few brief vertical movements. He placed his foot back underneath him and raised his head once more. In a slightly lowered voice, he mused, "They seem to all be watching."

It was a subtle feeling, but the tingling down his spine suggested that he and Theo had caught the eyes of at least two beasts. For him, that was "everyone." No matter. Cairo would let them all enjoy their feast; he would remain with Theo, at least for the moment. He was in no rush to return to the real world.

Theo Black // Male // Seeker // Mention: Cairo, Other beasts (ind)
.
+A chill runs up the males spine at the mention that they were being watched, this is why he wanted to just run off with Cairo. Shaking his head he slowly but surely gets off the ground stretching his arms above his head, a satisfying popheard as he sighs in relief. His green eyes then turn back to those of the unicorns with a smile+
.
"They are only watching because they think we will run though it isn't a bad idea. Come on I can tell your hungry let's get you same food"
.
+He leans against the unicorn as he dusts himself off from dust and other particles of the ground. He offers the beast beside him a warm smile that only close friends would ever see from him. Cairo was the closet thing to a friend that Theo had even if he wasn't human. Slowly be brushes his hand over the male unicorn shoulder, the fur underneath his hand felt warm+
.
"I think we are heading off soon anyway, maybe to a village or something where I can get you some actual food"
.
+Caring for the beast is something that Theo does on a daily basis after all they are bonded for life, he will hate himself if something happens to the unicorn. Turning his gaze back to the simmering view of the muddy plains for one last time he slowly begins to walk back though it was slow social interaction at the moment was not on his mind. Fusing off his hair he looks back at the male as if waiting for him to catch up+
.
"Come on slow poke before I have to carry you on my back for a change"

Jade Greenheart/Seeker/member/Female/bond:Pygmy/M: Pygmy,Theo,Cario, Onyx(Ref)
Jade was watching the direction of the yawn/roar and once she was done observing she sighed. She was a bit jumpy since the ceremony took that turn. Jade notice Pygmy was jumpy when surprised. She rummaged thru the stuff she had spread out and didn’t see any. Jade said “Sorry Pygmy but I don’t have any coconuts. Tho maybe we can ask to look for some.” She didn’t like being low on anything but she had to say she wasn’t completely use to having a beast bond. She didn’t want to let anyone in and had been keeping to herself since the bonding ceremony. Jade watched the others with their beast and spotted a unicorn with a male. She figured they were bonded. She had been watching Onyx before Pygmy woke up she had always admired dragons. Jade thought I wonder how soon we will dined the snapped riders and there beasts. She stood up brushing off her clothes. She began walking towards Theo and said “Hi.” She looked at the unicorn and smiled before returning her attention to Theo. She said “Pygmy you there by chance?” She waited for a response from both beast and person.

Calamity(Hellhound)|seeker|bond:kavik|m:onyx and Sorren(mention), kavik

Calamity ate her fill of the kill. Choosing a large meaty leg devouring it quickly. She could go along time without water so she was fine on that count for now. She watched the group go about there morning. Her own yawn mirroring the fire drake onyx soon after. She had been recognized by their leader for a good hunt and it had her in a good mood. Proud of herself. She hadn't missed the opportunity to unease the older man by the name of Sorren. She could smell that the young looking leader was older than he looked. The great thing about bonds for humans was their change in lifespan. Speaking of bonds; Sensing her bonded grow closer she stopped grooming her now spotless claws. Standing up turning to the blacksmith's approach. "Good morning little one" she said affectionately to Kavik who seemed like his mind was miles away. "What is troubling you" her shadows disappeared completely as she stopped next to him. Lowering her head to his face level. Both pairs of eyes softening for her companion. The hellhounds usual fierce and haughty side put to rest when it came to serious matters. She smelled blood and her focus shot to the source. Her keen hearing picking up the racing of the blacksmiths heart. The strong hands her bonded used to forge many blades had been sliced a bit. "And why are you hurt". The idea of anything happening to Kavik had her lips pulling back from her fangs. Holding back a growl from escaping deep in her chest.

Emrys(Unicorn)|Snapped Raider|Bond:Leha Stephans|m:leha, luminise(men), shiva(men)

Finished grazing on the sparse plants Emrys moved back to Lehas side using his body to block the harsh winds from attacking her further. "I miss the forests. " he stated with a sigh like noise. They both called the Faolain wilderness their home and he was glad to have that in common with her. What a strange feeling for him. To be glad of something. Never really caring about anything before except what the next day took to survive on his own. Now he had someone to look after and be looked out for. It was as foreign as this place they traveled. "Have you eaten yet?" Emrys asked making sure she was doing okay on food as well. Glancing up spotting the leader of their rouge group Shiva. Wondering when she would have them moving again. He hoped soon the urge to run through the shadowed woods and drink from the fresh rivers running across the hills was almost overwhelming. Amethyst gaze shifting back to his bonded noticing her attention was being taken by the dragon nearby staring at them. He watched back shaking his head with a snort. Uneasy but trusted the dragon to find food elsewhere. His own mane flapped wildly in the wind. Black as pitch. Maybe he would ask Leha to braid it.

Sorren|lead seeker|bond:onyx|m: Michael and Tukaii

Once he saw that mostly everyone was up and eating or doing what ever they needed. Sorren signaled for both his second in command Michael and beast Tukaii to come over. They needed to plan the two miles or so trip to the town they were headed towards. Ramren was its name and he had been once before. He hated the humidity of the plains Sorren came here very little. Preferring to trade with the Kaa outpost near his home village in the desert or the Erren tribe city near by as well. They often came by on their way to the obsidian mines in the volcanic areas north of the deserts. Shaking his head he focused back on the task at hand. His seconds. He had agreed with the elders on who to choose for his second. While quiet be picked up the males observatory nature and ability to read a room. He also sensed that if an order from himself wasn't well received Michael would say just that and help him find a new solution instead of harping on the wrong solution. Sorren was tasked with bringing this group safely to find the rouge group. He hoped they could solve the issue peacefully but knew if they needed to get their hands dirty that is what they would have to do. The young man Michaels bonded Tukaii was a who knows how old phoenix the first one he had even met. The wisdom would be much appreciated. She was older than his own beast no doubt. "Hey Michael, Tukaii come over here let's discuss what we need to get from the town. " he sheathed his Khopesh sword in its sheath across his back. Pulling out a quill and parchment to start working on the supplies list and rough map of the terrain. He would send one of the flyers soon to scout.
