Map

(please refer to the signups for more details, I’d rather not make this too long >.<)

Arrival

If anyone’s unsure of what to do, refer to this paragraph. After you arrive, go to the school’s main room and announce you’re there somehow (creativity encouraged). If no one told you what the room pairings were you’ll have to search the front desk for information. After that, find the dorms and make sure that your roommate doesn’t end up with a missing head by the end (we all know who that’s directed towards). it’s a bit blurry past that point as that's when they all start to explore.

Schedule?

(starts around eight?)

Boat Identification

Art

Astrology and Navigation

Weapons Handling and Form

(break to head back to dorms for lunch and mess around)

History

Chemistry

Music

(end of the school hours)

Maybe the school bell could be some sort of fog horn like on those big steamships

rules

-all of WP and Eve's rules

-don't kill or seriously injure someone else's character without their permission

-semi-literate is our literacy level here, although writer’s block is understandable. We’re going for around 150 words per post. (hopefully that’s all right)

-teachers are the dictators of their classrooms; if you skip class they reserve the right to find their choice of punishment.

-Pirates steal stuff, but please don’t steal from your classmates if you aren’t going to give it back by the next week.

-since these gremlins are all going to be stuck on a ship together someday, they’ve got to learn to work out their own problems between each other and agree on who’s turn it is for garbage duty and stuff like that. Unless there’s that one kid who just absolutely needs punishment for the day. A man hunt would be acceptable for that if they didn’t comply

-

At the top of your post put something along the lines of this. You can add to it, just this is the basics

Name l age l ability l mentions:

Monday, April 15

There is no class today to provide time for the students to get familiar with the grounds. They’ll arrive any time starting at 7 and going to around 3. It’s as cool as an autumn day due to all the fog in the morning. Later in the day it’ll heat up a bit though. Then for those who’d like to explore the beach, the water is quite cold today; Approach with caution.

Halla Salasoo l F l 18 l blood magic

To think that Halla would be going to a pirate school of all things was quite strange. But you never know where life takes you. Halla studied magic, practiced blood magic with a specialization in necromancy. It was not an easy job to hunt down new sources of knowledge. It took connections and knowing people who knew people. So it was a surprise to be given a hint about there existing some books in a small school near a no-name port town. It wasn’t a surprise that the person giving her the information already thought that she knew, offhandedly asking if she had signed her name. It definitely wasn’t a surprise that it was the last chance of giving in applications, just really tedious. She was just happy not to get the lead too late.

So that found her journeying half across the country, spending the last night in an inn and taking off with the first light through the forest path to find the pirate school.

It was quite foggy, Shütai was jumping around, showing a rare occasion of playfulness. The wolf was usually quite standoffish. Halla was once again thankful for having a pocket dimension. No need to carry bags, no chance of someone stealing your money and you can take all the things that otherwise would be impractical to take.

Breaking through the forest she bid goodbye to Shütai, the wolf preferring to stay in the forest, at least for the first while. She hugged it close, not letting go before it was starting to get agitated. Halla watched it disappearing in the trees, scrunching her nose. She set for the school, now alone.

Standing before it, she was amazed. In a way of how is this building still standing. Not wanting to go in yet, she took a stroll around the building, casting a look at the sea.

Finally, she went in, scowling as she looked around. The front room was empty, but then again she was a bit early, it ran in the family. Halla was looking at the fish when there was a greeting from behind her. With a yelp she turned around, a dagger manifesting in her left hand.

“Ah, ah. Hello, I, uh, didn’t hear you. I’m here for the semester.” She dispelled the dagger, looking sheepish. Bloody inability to sense people, she thought to herself. Luckily it didn’t take a while to verify her information and getting a key for her dorm, 1B. It was going to be fun.

Finding her room didn’t take too much effort, even if she was looking in every which direction and not really watching where she went. The room was even nice, the school surely did look better on the inside. Claiming a left side bed she decided to unpack the basics, clothes, toiletries, books. A rune scribbled deer skull on the table. Content for time being she decided to go back to the main hall and greet the other arriving students.

Calliope Sudduth // F // 17 // Werewolf // M: Anyone around!

The day was grey, chilly and foggy. The sea crashed wildly against the shore as the winds further out stirred the water like a boiling pot. The small, rickety old wagon pulled by a grey, ancient-looking draft horse clattered along, the wheels threatening to fall off at any moment. The overbearing ominous mood of the whole place would have left any self-respecting land-lubber shaking in their boots. But the family who had allowed her to ride along with them was talkative and quite enjoyable to chat with - if a little scary looking at first. The occupants grinned at her with slightly-too-sharp teeth, their ears slightly pointed at the ends, giving the hint that they might be a little more than human. But they were so kind she found them quite easy to get along with. She found herself chatting freely with them, telling them her whole life's story (a position she found herself in with surprising frequency.)

Excitement radiated from the chatty 17 year old, as they pulled ever-closer to the greatest school ever. It had been a long journey of walking and hitch-hiking to reach the school, but thankfully she'd made it to the location in one piece. She'd had a couple of run-ins with some... less-than savory folks, but she'd managed to slip away unharmed. Callie gazed out at the ocean with pure joy in her face, like the murky grey water was the most beautiful thing ever to her. She'd come a long way, she recounted joyfully - from practically begging to be let onto a ship as a cabin boy (er- girl) to being here. Ready to learn to be a real pirate! The passengers of the cart chuckled a bit (good-naturedly though, she ws sure) as she voiced her ambitions, and she just laughed along.

Well, she wasn't exactly looking to be a pirate. Callie wasn't really the looting and plundering type. She adored the sea, the fish and the open air. The feeling of standing at the tip top of the crow's nest and staring out into the endless blue. But her true calling was in healing others. From the first time she'd ever saved a crewmate's life, 14 years old and holding her hand to the man's carotid artery to stem the gushing blood, and then watching him recover day by day under her care, she knew this was what she was meant for. It had been the first time the crew had seen her as anything but a cute, stupid, useless little girl. But she'd have to earn that all over again here.

Ah well, she was quite looking forward to it! Maybe it would be easier this time, since she wouldn't have to relearn the skills that made her a worthy crew member from the ground up. The cart ground to a stop, the old draft horse nickering softly. "Thanks so much for letting me ride with you! Y'all ever need a favor, stop by and I'll be happy to help out!" She beamed, hopping down from the cart with her giant suitcase and slightly smaller duffle bag in tow. She gave the horse an affectionate pat on the neck, which it accepted, and she was pretty sure she saw a bit of appreciation glint in his deep red, slit-pupiled eyes. "Bye Hades, you've been a peach." She waved as they disappeared down the winding road before turning around to gaze up at the school building. Finally, her dream was coming true!

Jack Hickory l M l 16.5 l electricity l M:

Jack jumped out of the taxi with his backpack. He looked a bit too enthusiastic as he pulled the trunk open for his duffle bag. Slamming it shut, he tipped the driver and began to walk towards the forest.

“I don’t know what you’d want out here; there’s nothing out there other than forest and cliff!” The driver seemed concerned for wanting to go to this strange location.

“Hiking trip,” He replied, quickly. “Er- I might go camping while I’m at it?”

Shaking his head disapprovingly, the driver left. Apparently he didn’t appreciate youth taking an interest in the good old days of camping.

Jack walked into the forest with a bounce in his step. He checked his compass with his free hand. From his location the school should be North. He started walking in that direction again. As he worked deeper into the forest the fog showed clearer than before. “Here’s hoping there’s railing on the edge of the cliff.” If someone managed to fall- No, thinking of that won’t lead to any good.

The forest seemed a bit creepy covered in a blanket of fog. Like one of those movies on what was it called, bigfoot? Or something with mystery in it. Either way it was still ominous; you couldn’t see who else or what else was out there.

Soon a big brick building came up. It seemed about two stories high with windows big enough that someone could climb out of them with a bit of squeezing. Jack walked to its side, seeing another in the distance. Or was that the distance? The fog was warping everything from this viewpoint.

Jack walked to its front, seeing a path of stepping stones leading out of the forest. He followed those, hoping it would lead to the school.

The fog cleared up a bit upon exiting the forest. It seemed the trees were blocking some natural light too. The school was near the edge of the cliff. While it did look rather odd, it was creative. The sides looked as if they were made from old ships when they were no longer sea-worthy. The only problem was if they’d be building-worthy now.

The first thing he noticed after walking into the building was the aquarium column. Jack circled it, watching the fish in awe. The water was a crystal blue that looked almost unnatural to be that perfect. Some water dyes, maybe. How many people did it take to clean out that tank? How many fish were there in there, or what types? They had to be tropical breeds out in this area of the world, even if he did end up forgetting where they were after visiting so many different places in his journey. His hands thunked against the glass as he dropped his duffle bag to look in the tank. Within a few moments he realized it was becoming too capturing, even for someone who enjoys the beach, and pulled away.

After silently promising to return to the tank Jack walked up to the front desk and loudly announced he had arrived. He studied the room arrangements, realizing room 2B was to be his new territory.

Soon he began running off towards the dorms to find the rooms. All right, which was 1 and which was 2? Jack had enough brain smarts to realize one was for the guys and the other for the girls. 2 must be the boy’s dorm, and B the letter for which room.

While running through the dorm like a hyper gremlin, Jack struggled to not drop his duffle bag. If you’ve ever tried running around while holding something, you know it starts to get difficult. He gripped the door post of his room and swung into the room.

The first thing Jack did was quickly throw off his backpack. That thing was starting to cut off his shoulders. After about five minutes the majority of his stuff was all over the room in an effort to find a good blanket for fort making. Eventually he gave up and shoveled it all in a pile on one of the beds.

After returning downstairs and looking around the kitchen, he decided to go explore the school grounds. Before coming he had heard something of a pirate ship. Maybe Jack could start out by looking around that.

Izad Yalim Medet | M | 17 | Gravity & Restart | M: Open

When Izad had heard of a school behind a forest that could further his swordsmanship… And then learned it was a school to learn how to be pirates… He hadn’t expected it to be so far away from where he was coming from. Now, that hadn’t stopped him from trying to walk there. After all, the hike would be good exercise for him. But when he’s been hiking through the land for more than a day? Any great adventurer would be tired, and since he was already close to it…

--

He had set up camp that night and allowed himself to rest. Ha! You all had probably thought he was going to give in and get someone to drive him, but no! He was a Medet and he would never give up on something he had set his mind to.

--

And so, once he woke up in the morning and packed up camp, he was on his way again. The hike wasn’t as long this time around, and he managed to get there fairly quickly, while it was still foggy and chilly in the air.

--

He prepared himself and walked through the school’s doors, quickly and rather loudly announcing his arrival in the way any Medet would. As far as he knew. He went to the front desk with a smile, looking over the room arrangements before quickly finding his own name. 2B? He was apparently with someone named Jack. He hoped they knew swordplay, it would be an excellent thing if he could get some practice outside of classes too.

--

And so, he was off to go to the dorms and set up. He wasn’t sure if his roommate had already arrived or not, but he supposed he’d find out whenever he got there.

--

He went into the boy’s dorm; expertly called 2. And then he went down the halls, eyes scanning the doors for B, his excitement growing with each step. Once he found it, he opened the door and stepped inside, seeing that there was stuff already on one of the two beds. So his roommate had already arrived.

--

It took a good five minutes to get everything unpacked in a way that didn’t look completely terrible, and then an extra five minutes to figure out if he wanted to carry his sword with him still or if he wanted to put it in the room. He opted to keep it on him and left the dorm, deciding that exploring the beach wouldn’t be too bad of an idea right about now.

Nic Ayers | F | 16 | map animation | M: anyone around
The speedboat cut through the waves almost easily as a knife cuts through soft butter. The only reason the boat bobbed up and down at all was because it was too small to break through the waves. The boat had been rented by Nic's parents, which was the only thing keeping Nic from shoving the driver out of the way and steering herself. Nic's parents were only too happy to send Nic to a school where she could use her "gifts" productively.
Instead of plotting how to take over the boat, Nic turns her attention to her outfit. Nic's parents had insisted that she loose the bandanna, at least for the day. Grudgingly, Nichad complied, trading in her bandanna for two hair sticks. What Nic's parents didn't know is that Nic had chosen hair sticks sharp enough to cut flesh. Nic wasn't going to a school full of pirates unprotected.
The boatdriver dropped Nic off as close to the shore as possible without asking a single question. The water was freezing, but Nic was determined not to complain. Nic pulled her duffel bag from the boat, then made her way to shore.
The outside of the school wasn't very eye catching, but it was interesting. Old boat boards lined the walls. It didn't take Nic long to find the front entrance. Nic was happy to see that the interior was decorated better than the exterior.
Nic approached the attendance office. The teacher working attendance wasn't paying attention, so Nic took one of her hair sticks and slammed it on the table. Nic left her hair stick in the wood, jammed into the board so that it could stand on its own.
"I'm here." Nic doesn't specify what her name is, just looks at her from number, taking the corresponding key. 1B would be Nic's new room. Nic only hoped that her new roommate would respect Nic's boundaries. Nic walks past a large fish tank full of colorful fish, but doesn't pay much mind to it. What's so special about strange fish in a clear box?
Nic walks into her room to find it empty of people but decorated in a way that shows that Nic's roommate had already been in the room. Nic walks to the empty bed, sets her duffel bag down and pulls off her backpack. While Nic's duffel bag contains all her clothes and nessesities, her backpack is full of the stuff Nic cares about. Her maps and drawings. Nic takes her maps out of the backpack and neatly stacks them on her pillow. Nic can find a place for them later. At the bottom of the bag is what Nic was actually looking for, her poster board world map. The map was colored to look like an old treasure map, cwith Nic's drawing on top. Nic hangs her map on the wall next to her bed. As she tapes the corners up, the map moves. Little cartoon waves flow in the directions of the sea currents, growing larger wherever storms are. When Nicremoves her hands, the map freees back in its original drawing. With her packing undone, Nic made her way back to the front lobby. In the lobby, Nic found a slightly darker corner to lurk in, and smiled.

Yanka Evergreen/F/Wolf-Shifter/M: Everyone already there, Calliope (ind)
Yanka had set off the day before with her bags ans bow to the school and walked with her wolf companion, Crystal. She was nervous about how she would know nobody at the school. She hoped that her roommate would be friendly and would be alright with a wolf sharing the dorm. She walked for a few hours until dusk and camped out.
The next morning she set off at dawn and walked for a few hours before arriving at 7 or 8 o'clock.
Yanka stood outside the main building for a while, taking it in. A few other students where walking in already, or exploring.
Yanka aproached the entrance hall and walked quietly up to the reception to get her dorm and schedule. She looked to see that her room mate was a girl called Calliope and that she was in room 1-A. She decided to drop her bags up, have a shower and then explore.
Yanka got to the dorm and unpacked her bags on one of the beds. It did not seem like her room mate was there yet. She unrolled a bed for Crystal to sleep on and then got ready to explore. She decided to look for the ship first. Yanka called Crystal and headed outside, standing for a moment to breathe in the sea air before heading over to the ship in the distance.

Fatality Rosalie / Female / 19 / Dragon Shifter / @everyone
Fate sighed as she slipped on her best looking black dress. It was form fitting, and long, but it accentuated all of her curves. It also had a slit clean up to her right hip. She hit a Dagger on her left thigh and slipped a pair of 2 inch high heeled boots that came up to just below her knee. The back of her dress was open, allowing her to let her wings out. She brushed her hair and then put it in a French braid. She stood from her bed and straightened the dress before grabbing her backpack, which was pure black. It had her clothing and a bag of food for Doriel. She opened the door to her room and stepped out, gaining herself a fake attack from a rather large black feathered being. "Doriel! Good morning, pretty bird." She said as she hugged the raven. The raven cared softly and nuzzle Fates cheek before hopping up on the girls shoulder. Fate took a deep breath and snuck out of the door before her parents could even say anything. She then spread her wings, gaining a tight hold on the bag and allowing Doriel to fly. Taking flight, Fate began to fly toward the school.
An hour or so later, the school came into view. And so did the ship. She lowered until she was close enough to land at the schools doors. She walked in and went to the dorms, dropping her bag on a bed and opened it. She had a couple magic items that she stole from her parents armory which consisted of a pair of coins that became katanas whenever she was in danger. She palmed the coins and sighed, closing her bag and walking out of the dorm room, heading for the lobby. She held her head high, ignoring everyone she passed. Once she entered the main room, she looked at everyone. And burst into a fit of laughter. "This is my crew?" She said mostly to her raven, who cawed with laughter as well.

Varesh Crowlena / Female / 35 / siren-human hybrid / @everyone
Varesh smiled as students poured into the main lobby of the school. She stood silently near the principle, due to the fact that she and the principle had an understanding. Most sailors would fear her for her heritage. Sirens usually lured sailors to their deaths, therefore they would believe she would, undoubtedly, trick them. She fiddled with her hair, making sure she looked perfect for the new group of students that would someday command and sail the ship.
