Skaista
°
"Sky" [] Female [] 16 [] M: Isadora
°
Skaista slept heavily, practically in her own world. While she lay peacefully in her bed, explosions erupted outside unbeknownst to her. It wasn't until she was awoken by the loud footing of Isadora, that she realized at all what was going on. Even then, she assumed it was just the recklessness of some riders, midnight foolery before their first rides. Sky's eyes struggled to open from her slumber, greeted by Isa walking towards her. Isadora radiated confidence and had an aura of aggression, not someone to mess with if you knew what was good for you.
°
She was given the option of hiding or coming with, she didn't really want to do either and groaned into her pillow. Skaista used her arms to sit herself up as she adjusted to the feeling of being awake again. Just as she did, Isa opened the door to leave. Next thing Sky knew, there was a guy being thrown out the window. Truthfully, she assumed she was hallucinating, which in a place like this it's not uncommon. Isa was already rushing out the door, and she did plan to follow.
°
Short on time, Sky threw her hair into a singular ponytail and grabbed a black shawl. It would atleast warm her as she didn't have time to change out of her laced black shorts and crimson cropped tanktop that she wore to sleep. It briefly showed her dragon tattoo, only a segment of its back visible. Stumbling out of her bed, she forced her feet into soft black slippers and ran after her roommate. "Isa! What's going on?!"

Jasper Sterling
Rider // Female // M: Peter, Whistler and Akhen (Ind.

What in the world, Jasper stared blankly at Peter who was acting like he had gained some sort of brain damage from being stuck under the mattress.
"Are you okay?" She asked concerned about the curved finger on his lips. Peter seemed to be trying to impression some bird like a flamingo or something.

"Hmmm," she tapped her chin, looks like I'm playing charades. "Hawk? Fish hook? No," Jasper's attention turned to Peter's brilliant, emerald eyes, and looked in the same direction as him.

The dragons.

Shoot, Jasper has been busy thinking about the other riders, that she somehow managed to forget about her psychotic dragon: Akhen. What a loaf of a dragon, he could literally find any hobby other than attempting to swallow her.

Turning her attention back to Peter she thought off the weird curving of his finger. Why is his finger in such an odd position? Oh wait! The answer hit her, Peter's dragon is a beaked, wind class. What is his dragon's name? Was it Squeakler?

"Do you want to find Squeakler and the rest of the dragons?" She asked him.

Wendu Shoi-Ming

Dragon Rider | 17 | Male | Mentions: Juniper

The young male was sound asleep in his bed, quite content to sleep before classes in the morning - and this would've been the first times he's actually gotten sleep in a while. He was distrubed when he heard some noises, but they were muffled by his own drowsiness, and that's when he heard movement in the room - Juniper must've been up. He heard them talking and could only give a groggy "Mhmmm.." in reply bere trying to figure out what had them up in the first place. And then he could hear the soft clicking of the curtains being moved and slowly he rose up - his sleep disturbed, and he slowly began rubbing his eyes in tiredness. That's when his name was frantically being called and he looked at Juniper who was rambling on about . . .fire ? "What are you tal-" he was about to question his roomate as to what he was going on about, but that was interrupted when an explosion when off and he felt himself being flung off the bed - his body harshly hitting the ground. His body took the brunt of the damage, but his face didn't go unscathed - it seemed he got a large cut on his lip from a stray piece of glass; His ears were ringing and his vision was already blurry from not fully waking up. He could make the outline of his roomate falling off the desk from the explosion.

He gave a soft groan as he stood up and leaned on a wall for support. Gods, he was out of it. He held his head in annoyance as the ringing in his ears grew louder, his squinted vision doing him no good as the room was filling with smoke and then of all things the ceiling collapsed - leaving a hole in the room, he attempted to stand again and shuffled around slowly and found Juniper's mask and satchel that they kept on them. They probably would need this. And as he tried to avoid the hole in the room , he accidently slid down it - the ends of his nightgown being torn and ripped as they caught on to the frayed edges of the wooden beam. He slowly crawled under the space to get to Juniper and he was softly coughing as the smoke grew thicker on the floor. And he could hear Juniper coughing, He grunted as he made effort to get closer, but his gown was caught on the edge of the fallen and unstable wooden beam, leaving his leg exposed under it.

He flung the mask and satchel as near to Juniper as he could in his position and he moved to make sure he got it, "Juni-" he called but was cut off by the groaning and creaking of the beam that without warning fell on his exposed leg, causing him to give out a hiss of paing, his nails digging into the ground. He couldn't scream, but he wanted too. This was a fucking disaster. He was just thankful it seemed like his bone didn't poke outside his flesh. But his breathing was still shallow with panic and pain. He couldn't get the leg to move or from under the wood. He breathed in and out slowly to try and mitigate the pain and ignore it for now. But his eyes were feeling so heavy, and he tried to fight the urge to close them, and slowly he slumped over, his hair messily splayed around him and he could feel himsel slowly slipping in and out of conciousness.

That was until - everything went black.

Seraphina Keswick
Experienced Dragon Rider || Female || Mentions: Open

Seraphina's body hit the ground hard, the woman resting on her side with her bloodied hand clutching her stomach. The smoke from the roaring inferno stung her eyes and clawed at her throat. Each desperate attempt to bring air to her lungs was in vain, as the poor air quality only made her light-headed. Her entire body was beyond exhausted from her lack of sleep and this headache of a battle. She shuts her eyes, trying to see what energy she has left within her to keep fighting. Her nerves were on the fritz and aching, damaged mildly from the multiple electrical slashes. Sera groans as she rolls back to her hands and knees, her forehead pressed against the tile. Negativity and doubt riddled her thoughts. She feels like giving up in general. To accept defeat and allow herself to be embraced by death. Sera had lost hope in both herself and this kingdom.

The screams of battle and weapons clattering together formed an unsettling melody-one she never expected to hear in her lifetime. War. This is its song, a dreaded tune that expresses nothing more but sorrow and anger. Everyone who'll survive will remember this, yet it won't be one of fondness. She removed her blood-soaked hand from her stomach and dragged it along the ground below her, leaving a trail of crimson liquid. She moved her eyes to stare at it for some time, unsure if the blood was hers or her enemy. Her brain can't process anything all too well. It was worn down and begging her to rest. She tilts her head towards her opponent, examining them to see their condition. Perhaps. . .looking at their position could bring that shine of hope back into her mind?

They were wobbly on their legs, trying their hardest to keep themselves upright. From what little Seraphina could understand, thanks to the mask, they were barely holding on too. Their eyes exposed it themselves quite severely. They had little to no shine within, unable to focus on her. Guess she wasn't the only one affected by the smog, as their breathing had gotten much heavier and unrhythmic. None of them were in good condition and will collapse at any second. They both know that which means- "That I have to finish you off quickly," she commented to no one in particular, clumsily rising to her feet. Her foe awkwardly returns to their fighting position, readying their electric daggers that seem smaller than before. The length and brightness of the lightning blades were no more than 4 inches compared to their former 10 inches, and their luminosity was on a steady decline.

Seraphina was backed into the corner. She exposed too much confidence that she would win this thing. She tsked, her eyelids faltering into a heated glare. "Guess I have no choice," she mumbled, shutting her eyes to concentrate. The noises around her tuned out, no longer hearing that dreaded song. To her, everything was deathly quiet. Even her breathing couldn't be picked up on. Seraphina listened through the impending silence, searching for something within the ominous void. One beat, then another, the sound of a heart that wasn't hers. It sounded like it was in front of her, beckoning her to come. The rhythm was rapid, a sign of panic. Dread. Hearing it made Seraphina's body tense, but not out of discomfort. Adrenaline rushed through her nerves, her blood pumping faster than before. Her sense of thinking gradually subsided, losing itself in an unending spiral of savageness.

She exhaled a shaky whiff of air, the smell of the smog no longer bothering her. To her, this whole place was a breath of fresh air, as if taking a stroll through of field of flowers. Her fingers flexed, itching for the taste of the action about to commence. Seraphina's daggers became nothing more than flesh-tearing claws, twirling said weapons with her fingers effortlessly. She inhaled again, tracking down her rival's scent, which wasn't hard considering they were bleeding. Another inhale, then an exhale. This time, lifting her eyelids to reveal her eyes that now displayed a different light. The woman's pupils glistened with the aid of raging flames, a ravenous gaze in her eyes of darkened gold. Seraphina no longer views them as human. To her, they were her prey that she must hunt. She sheathed her daggers into her leg holster, her posture oddly relaxed. Sera removed her hair tie, then settled it around her right wrist. She brushed her bloodied hands through her hair, using the crimson liquid to hold it down. When her lips pulled into a sinister grin, Sera noticed a shift in their heartbeat, making her grimly chuckle. "Let the hunt begin. Shall we?" She songfully remarked before grabbing a dagger from the holster and lunging at them.

To become a superior version of herself, one has to lose their sense of humanity and rational thinking. She dug deep into herself to release the brutal side of her. It's a price to pay Seraphina would make to accomplish her goal, a cost to one's life if they're foolish enough to approach her in such a state.

Peter M. Evans // 17 // M // Rider // M: Jasper

Quiet and dry silence returned her words. He could've tried to make some sort of noise or words but judging by the way she kept giving him some blank look every time he tried to communicate, that likely wasn't going to be as effective as he would have liked. Either way, he simply shook his head and reached out toward the other rider.

They were wasting time while she was trying to play a guessing game of charades with someone who could hardly read her lips. The young man leapt forward and took hold of her wrist.

He wasn't going to waste time anymore, taking off running toward the mountain with a desperate hope. Hope that Whistler was going to be okay. That she wasn't injured.

He felt a swath of guilt for leaving his roommate behind but they didn't exactly have a choice anymore. Judging by the fires growing , they didn't have time to try and dig through the rubble.

With every single step, he jostled that silver bell, ringing out ad he dragged Jasper behind him. There seemed to be a couple of others ahead, good enough for him at least.

Kitisho

Male Seer Dragon || Rider: Skaista || M: Rhydor, Other At The Exit
~
Kitisho stomped around the whole place, snorting and huffing as they all discussed their plans. But when he heard digging, he stopped where he was before bouncing back over to the exit. "Well, I can help dig. I love digging!" He said and sat down, puffing his chest out, wrapping his tail neatly around himself, and spreading his wings halfway open like a duck drying it's feathers out after a long swim in it's pond.
~
Then, as the other dragon began to dig, he sat up and folded his wings tightly against his sides and took a place digging. Before he started, he checked to make sure no one was behind him before he began shoveling the rocks behind him like a dog digging up it's bone. The cold, hard rocks underneath his paws made his tail tip stick up, and he neatly curled it up next to himself to be careful to not cut anyone with it on accident.
~
Now that he thought about it, he was worried he cut someone with his tail without noticing. "I didn't cut any of you with my tail, right?" He asked, focused on the rocks. He opened his right wing and curled it around his tail just to be extra careful, but again, that's probably not a good idea, because he could rip right through the patagium if he made one wrong move, so he just folded his wing back against his side.
As time went by, Kitisho only got more and more anxious. He couldn't stop thinking about Skiasta. He kept wondering if she was trying to get him out right now, or if she left him behind... Or even worse, if she didn't make it out. The rage boiling within him only made him dig faster and harder. If anyone dares hurt Skaista. He thought, his paw's glow turning a bright orange and his purple glow turning a pale purple. They will face my wrath. The word 'wrath' caused a hiss, that sounded like a boa constrictor, to erupt from his throat with three clicking sounds afterwards.
After he calmed down he sighed before muttering to the dragon next to him, Rhydor. "I hope when we manage to get out of here, everyone's still alive," He sighed and continued, "And I hope we all get out alive." His tail tip shook at the thought of someone dying, which made him change his mind. If whoever did this hurts anyone here, they will face my epic rage! Not only Skaista, anyone here will be under my protection! He thought boldly and stuck his fangs out to quietly snarl. Though he knew that this was probably more serious than he thought or expected.

Desmodus Draculae

Male Dark Dragon || Rider: Fergus || M: Everyone at the exit
~
Desmodus stood at the exit, watching a dragon go insane on it before stopping and talking to them nervously. Desmodus started to inch away from the dragon, wrinkling up his long, pointed nose. As other dragons began to gather up at the exit, discussing their ideas. One decided they should dig, and Desmodus thought it was a good idea. He really did, but he couldn't participate in it. His claws just weren't made for that, and would probably hurt for a while after doing that. "Sorry, I wish I could help, but my claws just can't do that stuff." He murmured before examining his claws.
~
They were long, black, and fragile things, meant only for gripping on walls, not digging. They were very thin too, and would probably snap if he did that for too long. Oh well, it wouldn't matter anyway. They'd grow back in a week, but he still didn't want that to happen. It would be extremely painful, and he just doesn't feel like going through that pain. It would be exhausting and just annoying.
~
So in the meantime, he waited there, trying to hear any sounds from behind the walls with his ears. He caught nothing so far, only the rumbling sounds of rocks. Maybe if I press my ear against the wall... He did exactly that, pressing his ear against the hard, stone wall, attempting to catch any sounds. Slight rumbling and very faint sounds of footsteps was heard, but nothing much. It must be the students. He thought sadly. Maybe they're leaving us behind to escape this place. His ears drooped, thinking they were betrayed by those awful, greedy humans. Never should've trusted them. Now I'm stuck in a cave with a bunch of dragons who smell like rotten potatoes.
~
Desmodus snorted and walked a bit away before launching up into the air and attempting to grip his feet on the ceiling , but with no success. He landed and decided to just curl up there, and wait till he can sink his teeth into all these awful human's skin. Maybe they taste delicious. He thought as he slowly took his tongue and used it to feel his teeth and tell if they were smooth enough or not.

Beollan & Akhenaten
Fire & Venom Dragon | Both Male | Mentions: Raija, Others

Akenaten nodded at the female who was his mate and quickly set to trying to dig. He had to be careful, using his claws to grip rocks and pull them loose without sending them cascading over his body that was holding himself up. It was no doubt a slow process, and he didn't pay any mind to those around him who were helping. No, he simply ignored them and set to digging. The faster they cleared out the blockage, the quicker they could escape and the less strain there was on Raija.

While the venom dragon dug at the blockage, the large fire dragon watched on silently. The process was too slow and the caverns too cramped, and there were far to many dragons in it for the male to be comfortable. So, he growled softly, smoke billowing from his nostrils in a thick cloud and snaked forward, figure moved in a way that seemed both lazy and elegant.

"Move."

It was a singular word, but he didn't have time for them to argue and shammied up to the blockage, lifting himself up some. He eyed the blockage and where the digging had already begun and extended his claws into it. Compared to others his taloned front feet were like massive rakes, and while this is not what he intended them for, they would do well. Hooking his claws in every crevice he could he began to pull. It was a wee bit reckless but his intent and purpose was clear, when he pulled he freed the rocks and let them roll down the block and out behind him.

He ignored the way the Venom dragon hissed and slithered back, avoiding the rocks trying to roll over him. This wasn't meant to be fun, it was meant to be quick. So, he repeated the process again and again, pulling near handfuls of rocks free from the caved in exit and letting them roll down and away, using the natural gravity and destabilization of the blockage to his advantage. Did it hurt when the occasional rock rolled over his hind feet? Yes. But it was nothing to him.

Slowly fresh air and smoke began to filter into the cavern faster, the gaps between the rocks becoming more clear as he went. Finally, after a few more pulls, he cleared an opening large enough for him to squeeze through, which meant the rest of them could as well.

"Come on," he stated, tucking his wings in and lower his head so he moved in a streamlined way that decreased his height. Using his mass he pushed out the exit, clearing it a bit more so those behind him had an easier time.

Pausing on the outside, he took in what he saw, all the carnage, destruction and fire and puffed out a cloud of smoke with a grunt. "Do as you wish," was all he offered the other dragons before unfurling his wings and using them to propel him into the air.

He arched slowly through the sky, eyes of flame taking in the scene before landing on the wreckage of the Eastern Keep. Normally he wouldn't have cared, but he felt it was best to check if there were any survivors there, especially since he thought he saw a faint glow coming from the rocks. As he neared he spied a group of warriors making their way up the treacherous side of the mountain, having to carefully pick their way over the destroyed ground. Hissing he dove towards them, jaws parting to unleash a stream of flame onto them. Their screams were a chorus that was like a melody to him as he watched their burning bodies flail in the night like some exotic preformance.

Snorting he curved around before landing on the mountainside by the cave in and called out. "Anyone alive in there?"

While Beollan went about his way, Akhenaten coiled around Raija protectively and nodded at her before speaking. "We will go next, you're holding up the arch, they can wait for you until you're on the otherside holding it," he instructed and shot a warning glance at the other dragons, daring them to challenge him on it. He would have Raija drop what she held and lock them all back in there again if they tried. He was that adamant about his mate going next.

Ráijá Vábo
Psyche Dragon || Female || Mentions: Akhenaten, Others

A sullen expression cascaded across her features, paired with a baleful glare that bore into her surrounding victims before returning to the loose assortment of stone. Unblinking were her eyes as they met the rubble, her face twisted sourly in concentration. With her gaze unfaltering, the rubble remained secured in the air, orbiting the ceiling in a steady motion. Remaining silent for a prolonged duration of time, she dared not to move in fear of harming Akhenaten, who dug vigorously mere feet away.

Warm, thick smoke rose from her flared nostrils, clouding her vision momentarily before dissipating from sight. Simultaneously, a sinister, low-pitched sound that seemed to disrupt the arcadian setting rumbled from the corners of her mouth. Whilst not enervated, the concentration needed to uphold the loose gravel began to frustrate the creature. Specifically, the amount of time it was hoarding.

Known for her abrupt and unreasonable anger, Ráijá was no patient beast. Minuscule actions were often enough to set her on a rampant outrage, thus, witnessing her lovely mate continue to dig so slowly.. well, it was enough to make her shake. Teeth clenched in silent rage, her talons began to tap against stone restlessly, clicking in rhythmic patterns before halting altogether when another silently crept forward.

Slowly, she casted a baleful glance towards Beollan, whom uttered a singular word before advancing. He had ordered Akhenaten to move, to which her brows shot up with near joy. Had it been outside of the current situation, Ráijá would have erupted with ferocity at such a demand. However.. however.. she had been close to snapping at Akhenaten herself, and had contemplated slinging rocks at him so that he may dig more rapidly.

As more joined, Ráijá's impatience grew less. At times, she would shift away from her lifeless pose and sweep the ground near Akhenaten's feet before resuming her concentration. It was growing tiresome, her temples beginning to lightly throb as her eyes grew strained. Oh, but Ráijá was a stubborn creature, and so the rubble remained suspended in the air, her gaze strong.

A sudden, vibratory sound emitted from her throat as smoke filtered through crevices, thickening the air. Disgust twitched upon her lips, the smoke burning both her orbs and nostrils as it wafted from the exterior. She had nearly allowed a comment to slip, through refrained, for it meant that they were closer to escape. As predicted, Beollan had managed to create an opening, his body slipping through comfortably and vanishing within seconds.

The familiar warmth of Akhenaten coiling himself around her brought the female great comfort. At once, her glare grew more delicate in response, her physique untensing. Whilst not making direct eye contact, she tilted her head in his direction to showcase her attentiveness, proceeding with a singular nod before responding.

"Akhenaten," she began, using the entirety of his name. "You did wonderfully, dear. Now, go before me lest you desire a boulder upon your head." It was clear Ráijá meant it as a demand above all else. As her mate, he understood that she was a stubborn creature, and so surely he would.. understand that unless he didn't proceed before her, she would not move.

"Go on, now."

Fathom
Wind Class // Male // M: Apopis, Juniper, and other dragons

Ao had a point, Fathom was wasting his energy. His claws were useless against the stone barrier. Ao nudged his claws out of the way causing him to stop.

"The moment they make an opening, I am going after Juniper,"
Fathom said slowly backing up, anxiously watching the the other dragons slowly dig.

The wind dragon's talons tapped on cold stone floor. Akhen was digging carefully, but way more effectively than what Fathom had previously done. Though he wasn't going fast enough for Fathom's liking, he was seriously thinking about to jump back into the desperate digging, but then Beollan joined in. The fiery beast managed to make a gap in the stone.

Fresh air seeped through the gap, cleaning the air. Fathom perked up and inched closer to the heavenly hole, but Akhen wouldn't let anyone through until his mate went.
