Zera & Bluu

Females || Gray Foxes || M: (Dir) Each other. (Dir/Ind) None. (Ind) None.

-[~|~]-

Bluu stirred awake, feeling her sister's fluffy pelt still pressed up against her side, so she lifted her head off the ground to swiveling her gaze towards Zera. She couldn't even see her sister's face because of her bristling fur and her tail draped over her entire head. She must be really cold after that snowstorm. Bluu couldn't say she wasn't cold. She was freezing right now. Her fur is too short for her to tolerate such cold. And for the first time since leaving her parent's den, she actually felt grateful that her sister was here to help her stay warm. She knew that if her sister wasn't here, she likely would've gotten sick last night.

Zera felt something wiggling against her side, causing her to wake up. Her eyes slightly opened, to not allow the sunlight completely in and make her eyes burn. Her jaws parted open, her long tongue curling up as she released a quiet, and kind of adorable yawn. "Good morning, Bluu." She murmered before placing her head back down on the ground, her eyes sliding shut again. Much to her surprise, she didn't hear a grunt of annoyance come from her sister, but rather a disappointed sigh instead.

Bluu narrowed her eyes at Zera when she placed her head back down. She has so much energy, but when she goes to bed, she never wants to get up in the morning. "We have to hunt this morning, Zera." She grunted in an attempt to get Zera to actually get up. But much to her expectation, her sibling didn't even budge, and just murmered something incomprehensible. "We can get you a delicious rabbit." Still nothing... Then Bluu made a defeated sigh before making an irritated grunt. "I'll teach you how to hunt properly. Only if you don't feel bad for the animals when you're one second away from snapping their neck."

When Zera heard that, she lept up to her feet, turning to Bluu with her tail wagging like some kind of dog. "Really?! You'll teach me how to hunt?!" She yelped in joy, but spoke so fast to the point where it sounded like a jumble of random sounds instead of words. She stared at Bluu, not even blinking. Then, her sister nodded. Zera released an excited and loud shriek in joy, that echoed out of the den and throughout the entire area around her. Then, she made a one hundred eighty degree turn and ran outside the den at top speed.

Bluu grumbled as she watched the hyperactive fox run out of the den, squealing in delight. I wouldn't have offered if I knew she was gonna do that.. She let out another defeated sigh before standing up and walking out of the den to go follow Zera.

(In case any of you were wondering, when Zera shared her hunting strategies with Frost, she never actually hunts. She just comes up with something and Bluu ends up trying them. Zera has only hunted for herself like three times in her entire life, and that was when she was a pup. Bluu does all the hunting)

Finley/ F/ Stray/ M: Strays (ind)
The young dog laid patiently in the den, she was scared to go outside not knowing what was out there or who was out there. She looked around the den looking for anything to help with the pain. Finley didn't recognize anything so the next best thing she could think of was making a splint. Finley pulled herself up making sure she didn't put any weight on her hind leg.
Making her way towards the entrance a hit of sun blinded her eyes making her bend her head closing her eyes shut. She looked back up noticing the packs camp it was covered in snow. Finley sat down with a wince covering her paw with her tail, her ears flattened close to her head she let her head out of the den having a gust of wind brush through her fur.
"One more day of rest should do" Finley mumbled to herself moving her body back laying down and tuck her paws under her body.

Alha | F | Alpha | SUP | M: Her pack(ind & dir), Finley(ind)
Alha stirred awake, surprisingly a bit warmer than she thought she would be. The wind had died down but there was still a chill on the air. No matter, her fur coat would keep her warm. She opened her eyes before untucking her nose from her tail. Unwrapping herself, she stretched calmly before yawning. She had a good sleep. Now for another day though. She blinked at the sleeping hulk at the entrance before smiling.

She hopped over him, landing squarely in the snow and promptly laid down. It was chilly, yes. But it also felt good. And she could smell squirrel. She looked around as she sat up before pulling the squirrel over to bait under Harry's nose. That should wake him up. Alha stood up before deciding to bunny hop a few paces in the snow to get a feel of how deep it was. It wasn't too deep it seemed so she trotted towards the other dens. Her guards seemed to be awake which was good.

Alha hopped up onto a pile of snow to watch the camp come awake and interact.

Solaris || 5 Years || Male || Raven Pack Hunter || M: Shiva, Mairea (Ind)

Sleep for this hunk-of-a-male was not something that came easy the night prior. Being away from his mate for as long as he had been was quite the uncomfortable experience. Especially with her latest display of discomfort and, dare he say it, “laziness.” To be away from her as long as he had been during such an uncertain time. The itch to know what was wrong had pickled his mind nearly the entire night, preventing any possibility of him being well rested by morning. It wasn’t until the sky began to lighten in its color that he was able to enter the world of dreams… for a mere couple of minutes.

A nudge to his side awoke him from his fragile state of rest, likely from one of his hunting companions from the night before. A displeased grunt emits from the sun stricken male at the untimely awakening, followed by the shifting of his head – away from whoever had shattered his hopes of a decent sleep. Taking a deep breath, the male remains still for the minutes following, listening to the sound of fading steps as his companion. The urge to get up waged war against the desire to try for a few more seconds of sleep, insisting that sleep could come after he reunited with his beloved. The other side, however, was attempting to coerce him into staying there. ‘You will have a tough trek back,’ it argued, ‘Between a lack of focus and decreased strength, taking that moose back – even with aid – may prove to be difficult.’

Aye… but I’d rather not keep Mairea waiting any longer.

Releasing a slightly agitated grumble with tightened eyes, Solaris slowly lifts himself up – shaking off his bright pelt of any grime that could have possibly accumulated on it during his stay in the cave. The world around him was nearly as dark as that behind his eyelids, save for a small trickly of light at the entrance. A freshly dug exit.

Taking a second to yawn, the larger male meanders his way over to the area – sniffing the snow and inspecting the hole. With a growl, a large paw is lifted towards the area, widening the exit just enough of his to squeeze through without any difficulty. Exiting the warmth of the cave, he comes across Shiva. She had clearly been waiting for him if her sitting position was anything to go by. For how long was anyone’s guess, but he’d rather not leave her to sit any longer.

With another gaping yawn, the hunter pads up to the she-wolf – tired, blazing eyes locked onto her own. He stops at her side, remaining eye contact with an expecting gaze. If she takes some time to move, he motions towards the moose with a jerk of his head before starting his trek towards their prize – the crunch of snow sounding with each step.

River | F | Raven | Lead Hunter | M: Killjoy
River was dreaming peacefully for once in a long time when a quiet whine came from beside her. Her ear flicked subconsciously to the side before she decided to keep sleeping. At the nuzzle, she started to awaken, a sign escaping her muzzle. Honestly, she didn't want to leave the warmth. It seemed chilly at her nose. Killjoy's scent reached her nose and she groggily lifted her head to yawn.

Finishing her yawn, she nuzzled Killjoy before looking outside the den. Snow. Lovely. She did not want to hunt in that right now. A sudden thought came into her mind. A ear flattened before she sighed. "I don't know whether I need to go home to say goodbye or just. . .stay." She said quietly before laying her head on her paws. River snuggled a bit closer to Killjoy, her ears slightly back as she looked out the den. Her shoulder ached slightly but other than that, seemed fine. She flicked her tail, watching the entrance of the den, almost waiting for her stern alpha to come in.

Violet l Female l Eatsern l Medics Apprentice l M: Illusion, Xola, Hondo, Malicia, Pups
.
Violet's ice blue eyes opened to a nice and warm den. The silver female gave out a long yawn, her tail brushing over the dirt of the floor. She got to her feet and let out a small stretch, then gave a long shake, almost entirely cleaning her fur. As she stepped out of the den, the sudden rush of cold made her shiver. She wished she could go back and curl up and sleep, but she knew she had to make her rounds. With that she stepped fully out into the cold. Her thin fur barely sheilding her. It worked great and the summer, but when winter came, she spent most of her time, if she could, in her den. Of courae that was before she had become a medics apprentice. Xola, who hadnt come back to the den in the night, was no where to be seen. Towards Illusions den she saw two figures sitting, who as she got closer, made out the forms if the Lead Hunter and the Beta. She let out a small sigh. Hondo wasnt supposed to be out, he needed to rest. "Good Morning Beta, Illusion." She added. "Shouldnt you be resting that paw of yours?" She peered inside of newfound mither's den. To see Xola sleeping by the pups. She gave a smirk before looking back in the two males direction. "When Xola awakens tell her I've been out looking for herbs." And with that, Violet made her way towards the entrance of camp, going to look for the precious herbs, if she could find them.

Illusion | M | Lead Hunter | Eastern | M: Hondo, Malicia, Violet

Illusion's tail wagged at seeing Hondo. He was panting from the heavy weight of his wet, long fur. "Good morning Hondo." His voice was hoarse from the cold air and his throat was feeling a bit scratchy. He let out a small yawn, still trying to blink sleep from his eyes. He glanced down at the Beta's paw... Shouldn't he be resting? "Hondo, are you allowed to hunt? If I ask Violet, what would she say?" He gave a playful shake of his head, teasing his friend.

"Good morning Violet. I'll let Xola know if I see her before we leave." He watched her go before glancing back into his den. He knew it wouldn't take too long before Malicia would get tired of laying there. He wanted to be back in time for her to get a run in and to watch the pups. He sighed. "I was hoping that more would be awake by now," He glanced at the Alpha's den, "And that Killjoy would be able to join a patrol this morning, but he seem caught up, ready to head out?" He waited for a conformation and headed for the exit.

He followed Violet's pawprints for a bit before heading down a rabbit's fresh trail. "Okay Hondo, here is the plan. I don't want you working that paw too hard, so we'll try to keep this quick and easy. I hope it'll lead us to a den with more than one rabbit." He glanced at his paw, his eyes bright in the snow. His mind was in the fog this morning, thinking about many things, but mostly about his mate. He knew that she'd want something fresh to eat, and most likely something she'd killed herself. He'd offer her whatever he could get, and give her an offer to leave for a bit while he sat with the pups - He was taken out of his plan making when a rabbit ran in front of him, it was limping, so it most likely had come from near the humans. The paw was bloody, caught in a trap.

Illusion took off after it, his heavy frame having a hard time starting up and building momentum in the snow. His wet fur provided drag, slowing him down signifigantly. He allowed Hondo to swoop in and kill the rabbit, not being able to react quick enough. He really hated the snow, but at least he wasn't overheating like he would in the summer. He stood there panting, watching the skilled Beta.

Killjoy | M | Alpha | Eastern | M: River, Xola

Killjoy listened to River before laying his head on hers. He wanted to freeze time and stay here for the rest of his life. However, nothing ever stayed the same, and he knew that. As he laid there listening to her, he caught the slight feeling that she may be feeling a bit anxious about it. His eyes were gentle, and he spoke softly, in a warm tone. “You do whatever you feel you want to do.” He paused, chewing his words into the correct place, “If you want to go, feel free to! If you want, I can join, or you can go alone. It’s all up to you.” His eyes softened as he lifted his head to look at River. His tail wagged slightly as he rubbed his head under her chin. He really didn’t want to move, but his duties couldn’t wait.

Slowly, he got up from his spot, saddened by the rush of cold air. He glanced outside of the den, unhappy with the snow. He needed to go and be cleared from the Medic’s to hunt or patrol. He gave River a sad look as he stepped out of the den, his head hanging slightly by the thought of the cold snow getting between his paw pads. “I have a feeling I’ll be wandering around camp today, so if you need me, I’ll be around.” His tail began wagging as he looked back at her. He was still in shock that River was laying in his den. He was a bit worried about Night’s reaction, but nonetheless, he was happy.

Killjoy began to scout the camp for the Medic’s. He sniffed a paw print by the entrance, Violet was out and about, so where was Xola? He walked past Maicia’s den, the whine of puppies catching his ears. He paused outside of it to look in. From the little he could see, one or two of them looked quite a bit like Illusion, and that made him smile. Despite the differences between him and the Lead Hunter, and the difficult background, he knew that Illusion would be a great father to the three pups. He then spotted a sleeping Xola in the corner of the den. He didn’t want to wake her, so instead he went to the food pile where it was sheltered under a tree. He picked out the least frozen, and most fresh piece to take back to River. He trotted towards his den, and poked his head in, his tail wagging. “Well, Xola and Violet are busy, so I have a bit more time.” He made his way towards her, placing the squirrel in front of her, sitting not too far off, looking outside, listening for any give-aways that the Medic had risen.

Malicia // Eastern // Queen // Mentions: Illusion *Indi* Violet *Indi*

Malicia lay silently within the den after Illusion left to go do his dutys. Which Malicia for the time being was more then happy to give up. As while she was an amazing hunter she knew she had to be careful for the safety of her family.

Turning she caught Violet peeking in an offered her a soft smile and nod. Xola needed all the sleep she could get. Which was good for the medic.

Glancing outside she carefully stepped around her now sleeping pups to get a few mouth fulls of snow to help ease the dryness in her maw. A contented sigh left her lips before her black figure vanished back into the den to recurl around the small pups.

Xola || 6 || Female || Wolf || Eastern Medic || M: Malicia, Newborns, Illusion (Ind), Hondo (Ind), Violet (Ind), Killjoy (Ind)

Xola wasn’t quite sure when she had fallen asleep the night before – its grasp having come over her swiftly between the silent and distant checkups on the young family. Though, while a tad inconvenient for her, she still appreciated the fact she had been blessed by such an occurrence. It was nice to feel well rested, especially after the whirlwind that was yesterday.

A soft, content breath leaves the aging medic, rustling the fur of her tail which had slid in front of her nose the night prior. Having not the urge to get up just yet, she remained as she was, curled into a ball of black fur. The world steadily began to pick up in activity, starting with the gentle mumbling of another and followed by the soft padding of fading paw-steps. The nearing of multiple other foot steps not long after hinted towards the arrival of visitors – Violet, Hondo, and Killjoy from what her nose could pick up – but most quickly faded not long after appearing. One pair, however, seemed to take up residence near the den’s entrance, holding a hushed conversation with whoever had left the den prior to their arrival. Though, they too dissipated from the entrance eventually. The scent of milk eventually wafted to her little corner, as though urging her to rise quickly – something she had not immediately been keen on due to the rather relaxed atmosphere. However, the thought of having left the littles one and their mother unsupervised for the night was enough to finally stir her. Couldn’t leave them without care for too long with this being a fragile time for them all.

With a slowly lifted head and wide yawn, the night-pelted female glanced with bleary eyes in the direction of what seemed to be the mother settling back around her sleeping bundles of joy. The absence of their father became apparent to her the clearer her eyes became. It was not much of a shock to her considering the noises she had heard before rousing. He still had duties he was still obligated to fill, after all. New-found father or not, food still needed to be caughting no matter how much he wished to stay. At least, she thought, he had actually been here with his pups to begin with. Others do not have such a luxury.

Rising, the dark furred canine stretches with another yawn – pushing her paws forwards and down and hips up and slightly backwards – before properly standing to shake out her pelt of any possible hitch-hicking moss. A wonderful bedding the plant was, but a pain when it came to rising with how it seems to glue itself to the coat. Once “prepared,” she turned towards the occupied nest and began to make her way towards the little family. Her movements were slow and careful so as to not alarm the female or wake the pups with too much noise.

Stopping a few steps from Malicia, the medic nods her head in an initial greeting before glancing towards the pups. From what she could tell, they appeared to be quite healthy at the moment. Sleeping soundly with the occasional kicking or whining from whatever dreams they may be having. The mother seemed mostly the same. Healthy and recovering as usual. Well rested too, thank goodness. She knew herself how difficult sleeping after birth could be, with the worry of what would happen to the little ones that night weighing on the mother’s mind. Though, the presence of two other adult wolves – one being a medic – likely prevented such worry. But, it would not hurt to ask in case she managed to skim over something in her little scan. Even if she did not seem particularly distressed.

“Good morning, dear,” she began in a hushed tone, “How are you and the little ones doing? Is there anything I can help you with?”
