Manon Alina Sarranas | F | Ikona | M: Ikona, Topaz, everyone in the tent

Manon appreciated the feisty little creature’s hissing at those who were watching them, and it caused her to smile slightly as she carried him over to the tent. He was far more aware than she would have expected from a newly hatched animal. But, she supposed, he was no normal beast. A dragon was likely far more intelligent than any mere animal.

He seemed a bit shocked by something after she attempted to send him her thoughts, which she took as a sign that it may have worked. She grinned and had to fight the urge to jump up and down in excitement as he seemed to be calming down.

“I can hear you.”

Her smile only grew. “Hell yeah.” She murmured to herself. “I’ve got a dragon. And he talks to me.”

He climbed onto her arm, digging his tiny little claws into her skin. She bit the inside of her cheek, resisting the urge to push him off, as he seemed happy. Not to mention, she feared that she might harm him if she was too rough with him. She reached up to stroke his feathers again, deciding that she would purchase a falconer's glove or perhaps she would wear longer-sleeved shirts so that he could perch there comfortably while he was still small. He did seem to fit quite perfectly.

“Do you have a name? Or shall I just call you ‘little one’ until we can come up with something?” After a moment’s thought, she added, “My name’s Manon, by the way. Manon Sarranas.”

She glanced up as a human woman hurried into the tent with an earth dragon. Her gaze landed on the creature for a moment, then flicked to the sword. That was interesting. It seemed a bit too big for her, though perhaps that was intentional.

A quick look around the tent made her realize that most of the future riders had bonded already. So these were to be her competition? Hm. A few of them looked as though they were actually somewhat capable. Most looked…soft. Like the sort of person she’d do a job for, not the sort she’d take with her on one. But, she supposed, looks could be deceiving. So, she thought it best to try to get to know them.

“So…how’d all of you end up here?” She asked. A bit of an odd question, she knew, but it might be a good one. “Obligation or choice? Or, I dunno, whatever else could’ve brought you here?”

(Short, sorry)

Zebeythrae (Zeb) Leoriethty | F | Bonded: Cathix | Mentions: Galladis, Wren, Topaz (ind.), Cathix, Orrian

Just as he had noticed her change in emotion, Zeb caught the slight shake that was seemingly to take over the male's body when the human appearing rider with the large sword had been looking at him. I will have to talk to him about that later. It wasn't unusual to see a friendly interaction between the two that verged dangerously on the precipice of falling into being flirtatious. Especially when it seemed that Wren had pushed him closer to her after she had pulled away.

The feel of his fingers on her chin caused a brow to quirk up as she looked up to him, her eyes searching his face for a moment listening as he spoke. The scene of the two in a pretty intimate position was quickly changed as his hand pulled away while he continued. "Fine...we can talk over a drink later. But I think I should go find something for my dragon to eat before they decide to eat me." A lighter tone danced in her laugh as she looked over at the dragon beside her.

I am sorry about that. Hmmm I shall look for something for you. I can't have you starving on the first day. Her eyes pulled away slowly to look around the tent. The feel of his fingers on her skin tried to dance to the forefront of her mind but she pushed it down when her eyes landed on a row of various foods that looked to be for the dragons. She stood and disappeared into the growing crowd for a moment but returned shortly with her prize. She had picked up a couple of each kind of food item and sat down to better offer the food to Cathix.

She had noticed the smaller being attempt to look imposing when Galladis had touched her and she was smiling as she offered a bit of meat to him. I wouldn't worry about him. We made a deal.

She was picking up another piece of meat when her attention was captured by the sight of one of the elven judges seeming to be walking in holding an egg with blood trailing down the side of his face. "Geeze I knew people were grabby but I wouldn't think they would push someone to the ground. Or did you trip over your confidence after deciding you wanted to give your own hand a shot at being a rider dear judge?"

Her words could be taken as a jest but there was something in the way the male elf was acting that caused Zeb to keep her eyes on him for a few moments longer before seeing where Galladis had wandered to. It would appear that she depended on him more than she would admit to.

Aibek

Moon dragon | M | Bonded: Camila | M: Camila, Wren, Everyone in the tent (ind)

Aibek felt safe as the non-dragon pulled him close to her? He let out a little purr like noise as he nuzzled his head into the chest of the non-dragon.

His head popped up as he heard another voice. He looked up to see another larger non-dragon. His pupils shot to slits. He let out a small hiss before shoving his head back into the female's chest.

Thankfully the larger non-human left. He lifted his head and his pupils grew large as a large shadow cast over him and the female. He was ready to hiss and growl but he realized that it wasn't the other non-dragon. He let out a noise of curiosity as a snout appeared in front of him... it was a dragon? Something about this creature felt welcoming and familiar. He let out another cute little noise but soon the female non-dragon began to walk away towards a weird brown shaped thing. He looked back to see the dragon, the one he met before was following them.

he looked forward at the sounds of other creatures. Both he and the non-human went into the weirdly shaped brown skin thing. He became overwhelmed at the sight of many non- dragons and what looked like dragons like him. Except they were different colors and sizes and shapes. He looked back to see the familiar dragon pop its head into the brown skin thing?

he was delighted to see it but before he knew it the familiar dragon had left. He let out a whimper before the non-human sat down. He looked around with panic as he viewed all the others in the area with him.

But then something pulled him out of his panic... a voice? But whos?
he looked forward towards the non-human. His pupils grew huge in fear and curiosity. He just stared blankly at her.

Ca... Camiiil...La... Camila?!

He then had thought of a name popped in his head

Ai... Ai... Aibek! I am Aibek.

He soon got the hang of this talking thing.

where are we? And what are you? Why are we here?!

Howl | Ice dragon | Bonded: Orrian | Mentions: Orrian

Howl felt himself jiggle, as the egg rolled. There was very little liquid left to soften any blows, and his shell would be easier to shatter. Even though he had the shell to dispel the force of falling, he still could have been seriously hurt, if Orrian hadn't intervened. It would have been debilitating for Orrian, if he became paired with a dragon whose mind was impaired, because of such an early accident. The ones that happened when the victim was young were the worst, and carried the most impact. It was considered unhealthy to break a dragon out of its shell before it had at least begun the process.

He was held more still now, and he let himself curl into himself more comfortably. He squiggled, not able to adjust in the tight space anymore. There was something on the outside nagging at him. He could feel a persistent presence on the other side. Continuously, he squirmed trying to get away from it. He couldn't even vent his frustration at being so easily caught and trapped. It was the awkward way to begin his life. His head began to ache, as his mind reached out to form the bond. What was happening? Why was he hurting? Why had someone jostled him so roughly?

He wanted to be alone.

He appreciated the relative muffled quiet in his egg. He didn't want to go and face the disturber of the peace. Something clicked in his mind, and he began scrabbling inside of the egg, trying to clutch his skull. What was this? Anyone who heard him would assume he was trying to get out. They would assume he had bonded. If he didn’t at least try to get out in a timely fashion, there would be panicking. Orrian should panic as well, since he wouldn’t get any time at all with his new partner. Would he be relieved if Howl didn’t survive?

He was far from the most valuable dragon, and ice dragons had a reputation for being nasty, and aloof. Perhaps he wouldn't understand the possible rammifications of not saving Howl. He knew nothing about this strange creature. It was becoming more obvious that at the moment Howl had no chance at winning. He was at this creature's mercy, and he had better act like it. How long would he have to stay in here before Orrian decided to leave him alone? How long could he go without him caring what happened? Perhaps he could escape this whole confounded trap. What was he even doing here already?

Sol Saanvi Dayal | F | Bonded: Amrinis | M: Orrian, Sana, Amrinis

"Orrian Tordi, Judge of the Games. Come with me, will you?"

Sol spun to face the man who had spoken to her. Most notably, he was tall - she barely even reached his chest - with dark, almost deep greenish hair. With light skin, his complexion and stature marked him as an elf, with no doubt.

Judge of the Games.

With the adrenaline bounding through her veins, it hadn't occured to Sol that the competition for the damn throne would be involved. Oh, fun. At this rate, she wouldn't be shocked if the sun exploded. Actually, the fiery star was welcome to spontaneously combust and incinerate her problems, herself included.

But Sol couldn't be thinking like that, not now - she needed to find some semblence of her usual collected stoicism. And considering the absolute chaos that had been dumped on her head, she wasn't doing too poor of a job. Actually, Sol considered it remarkable that she was even standing here and thinking with some level of coherance. She had always been one to keep her head, but now? She was barely able to keep the panic from overtaking her.

Focus. Pick someone to center your thoughts on. Block the crowd out.

Sol's dark, unremarkable eyes found the elf once more.

His gaze was not as plain as Sol's. With beautiful sage-green orbs, his own eyes were far more impressive that the dark brown of her own. His gaze flicked across Sol's small frame, and the halfling stilled, immediately guessing as to what exactly he had noticed, if the man had even half a braincell. And she assumed he had, if he was selected to be a judge.

Halfing.

The elf's voice was blunt - but she had expected his question, at least. She found his words bizarre, though - it was uncommon that people ask her of her lineage. They just pointed it out, usually.

As if I didn't know. Really, the intelligence of some idiots is astounding.

It had long sinced stop hurting whenever people would stare and gawk and shout. But his politeness threw her off, if only for a bit. The crude voices of her people were rocky like the land and swept with the gravel of the river; rough, cursing, and lacking all humanly manners. Admittedly, Sol wasn't so great with ettiquite either. She had never learned such a thing, except maybe eating with her mouth closed and saying thank you. Sometimes.

There was a flash of movement, and Sol twisted to look, on the defensive. An egg was wobbling off the table, but the elf - Orrian - got there before it could fall. His head cracked against the stone, but he managed to keep the egg intact, despite the blood running down his face. He rose, but hadn't let go of the egg yet, which Sol found odd.

A few seconds passed, and it only took a moment for her to grasp the situation. He would have moved to brush away the blood, or at least place the egg down had he been able to - so was the glittering, icy shell stuck to his hands? It seemed the only logical explanation, odd though it may be. Perhaps that was the nature of the ice egg, like icicles. Then again, he could very well be minorly concussed and dazed.

Orrian seemed to wince, as he told her to follow the other judge, and Sol blinked, narrowing her eyes slightly, observing. After a few moments of quiet, quick thought, she decided it was best to leave.

With a completely unperturbed expression, Sol responded to his question, which was likely forgotten. All the better time to answer.

"Oh, and no, no elf lineage here. I'm half water buffalo with a clean ferret ancestery, thank you," she responded evenly.

The young woman then turned, scooped the little water dragon into her arms and lifted her chin, facing the the crowd. Some of the jeers and shouts were quieted. Glaring silently, Sol spun away, even as insults followed.

Bastard halfling, one shouted.

Impure. Wrong. A mistake, said others.

Sol was a mistake. But not under their judgement.

She closed in on the tall elf she assumed to be named Sana, eyes raised to her own, daring the woman to insult her.

"I was told to follow you."

Nothing more, just curt and sharp. She had no energy for words, not right now. Sol could barely handle herself, much less a conversation.

Galladis Verael | M | Re'enalla | Wren, Zeb, everyone in the tent

Galladis looked Zeb in the eyes. Was she messing with him? She usually snarked a comment if he got that close. Especially when it was Wren who did it, as she usually did. Instead, she hadn't pulled away. She hadn't threatened him with one of her many weapons. He looked down, thinking. A slight shameful face was what he held. You've sure come a long way from when I found you, Zebeythrae. He sighed. She'd just left him there, and it left him looking around cluelessly. If he had to say... talking to her didn't always leave him dumbfounded. It did many times, but not every last one.

He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice Wren's nose poking him in the chest. "The tent? The others are there. And family." Her short tongue lolled out like a dog's, licking her nose. "Plus food." He smirked, shaking his head with an amused sigh. The tent it is, then. Strolling over, he walked casually by Zeb. He nearly forgot who was actually in the tent until he entered. Topaz. Æschylus wasn't there. Likely still at the tables with the two elven judges he noticed.

We'll have to do, for now. Wren sidled in beside him, taking her place and curling around the entire back of the tent. She sniffed at a large canister. At that, he smirked. Seems like someone brought a little celebratory drink here. Hmm. He took a quick glance at the people gathered in the tent. He'd have to be quiet; this was their bonding time, he was only there as a sort of "overseer" to make sure nothing unusual occurred. It, naturally, wouldn't be Randi. And Harazo? He didn't seem like someone who'd want to oversee mixed races bonding with his fear.

He moved to Wren's side, casting another quick glance at everyone. "I daren't interfere. You can ignore me as you wish, I'm only here in case of something unusual." Wren, you can go to talk to the moon hatchling if you want. But this time, she was defiant. "No. Sit." And he was grateful for her care of him sometimes. Lying by her side, his thoughts strayed to Zeb and Topaz. Both of them he'd be talking to later for what he assumed were the same reasons. Needless to say, he wasn't looking forward to it.

Sanasiliare Areauveçh Latitharen | F | Elf Judge | Sol, Orrian, Topher

It took her a few moments to comprehend what was happening. Orrian rolled down onto the ground, catching a large egg before it cracked on the stone. The woman wanted to follow her. She had to take care of the elf prince, and now this halfling was looking to follow her around. It'd be asinine if she wasn't going to do anything for the Games. She narrowed her eyes at the woman standing beside Orrian. She didn't look all that much like a halfling though. How did Orrian notice?

She was surprisingly short for half elf, having barely pointed ears. And looked... inexplicably and very vaguely familiar. It was possible they'd met before, she saw a lot of people around who looked familiar. It was never surprising if someone looked like her. She didn't know why she knew, but she knew that there were a lot of people who might look partially like she did. Hundreds or thoudsands, perhaps.

~Vici watched as Kur stormed through the door, charged energy rolling off him in waves. It was enough to make the door fly off it's hinges out of sheer brute force. When she heard the dull, soft thud of where the door hit, she whipped around. What she saw, she'd likely never erase from her mind. "Nach!" ~

~Marionnach gave a strained cough, looking at his sister. The force of the blow had only winded him, but there were shards of iron and a glass-like substance embedded in his arms and chest. It would be survivable for a normal elf, but... Vici didn't know about his condition. She was leaning over him, digging out the shards, silent tears running down her face. "Viss." He held his hand under her chin, tilting her face up to look at him. He smiled. And he closed his eyes.~

~It took Vici a moment to comprehend what Kur had done. She'd seen the glimmer in his eyes as he'd run the door over. He'd wanted Nach to die. Maybe it was that Nach shared his power so closely, or that he had the desire to use it against him if needed. But she strongly suspected it was because he knew what Kur had done. She herself only knew of one thing because Nach had told her. She had other half-siblings, lots of them. What he hadn't told her, made even him fear Kur. By Levandäl, it was bad.~

Sana massaged her temples. She suspected a dragon had something to do with her memory loss. Perhaps it was Wren, but she didn't think so. She looked to Orrian, cocking her head. No one else's hands had stuck to the egg. He was literally attached to it. Or... no. Sana paled. She grabbed his arm, pulling him over to the tent. "Go in there and ask the Dragonborn to help." She pushed him in.

Her gaze slid over to Sol. Walking over, she beckoned away from the table. "I hear you're a halfling, eh? Probably not your best first impression." She narrowed her eyes. "Yes, he certainly did say that. I don't particularly care if you follow me, and I'd rather not have a very short human trailing me around." Alkannis let out a loud screech, shocking the nearby onlookers. She turned to walk away, but suddenly remembered something. "We haven't been properly introduced, correct? My name is V- Sanasiliare Latitharen. Follow me if you like." She walked toward the tent, standing outside of it.

Sana inwardly frowned at the stumble. She didn't get her own name? Her own name? She was fairly sure that she was about to say Viciatzea. But... she wasn't Viciatzea. And yet she was. Of that, she was sure.

Topaz Finn-Agæca | F | 25 | Human/Fae Halfling | M: Galladis, Azo, Manon

Topaz was taken aback by the small creature's ferocity. How such a small little creature didn't hesitate to protect her of all people was beyond her understanding. It didn't dawn on her until she walked into the tent, surrounded by others enamored with their baby dragons. He was her dragon, no one elses,' and they couldn't take him from her. Even though she had to attend the games now. The thought of leaving, just making a run for it with her dragon crossed her mind, but was quickly banished. There was no way they wouldn't chase her down.

Well then Chimborazo, you better get big, and a nickname. She paused, contemplating what he had asked her. Her name? Topaz. My name's Topaz.

The young woman was brought back to reality when a fae, the Judge, pressed a small wooden flask with a leather loop for a handle into her hands. Muttering something about an antidote. Why would she need an antidote? What's this for? With a curt nod, she took it from the fae and with some difficulty (holding a baby dragon does take both hands, mind you) attached it to her belt loop. There, now she wouldn't have to hold it or leave it somewhere.

The soft voice pierced her mind once again. It was intriguing how such a small creature could harbor a melodious voice. Then again, he was a dragon after all. Who knew what they were capable of?

You okay?

Not one bit, but I will be. I think.

Her heavy storm of thoughts and memories of her father's face was broken through by someone addressing her...them? Looking around for the source of the voice, her eyes landed on a little fae woman asking how they ended up there in the tent. With dragons.

"Accident, probably." Topaz huffed, "I came to just watch the bonding, really. And you?"

It wasn't exactly a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either. She wasn't sure how many of them had seen the Dragonborn practically escort her up to the bonding tables. Hopefully none of them, but with her luck they could guess her secret. Thank whatever gods there were for the fact that she looked pretty much human. The thought that she wasn't in fact a human didn't dawn on her until that very instant. A halfling, a mistake. It made sense almost. Maybe now she had a reason for the fact that she had never felt like she belonged anywhere.

Topaz looked around the room at her fellow bonded. Opponents? No, she couldn't handle looking at them in that way, not yet.

"Name's Topaz, by the way. Before you ask, no I am not a Creedan. Evaan probably hates me, heh." Her sentence ended dryly, yet humor was present in her tone as she spoke of the shipping company's owner. And Finn's father. It was surprising there was never someone sent out to find them. A mercenary of sorts, to drag Finn back home. That's what happened when you were the youngest of four brothers.

Zebeythrae (Zeb) Leoriethty | F | Bonded: Cathix | Mentions: Galladis, Wren, Cathix, Manon, Topaz

Zeb's eyes caught the large moon dragon laying down in the back of the tent and then her mentor sitting by the large being. She was about to continue 'speaking' with her dragon until a question was asked.

"I am the Dragonborn Apprentice. It would have been rude for me to not try my hand at bonding with a dragon. If fact I would probably be discharged of my position with a lovely arrangement of guards." A slight curve appeared at the corner of her lips as she spoke imagining the picture before her eyes moved back to look at her dragon. "You can call me Zeb as well. It is easier than trying to have everyone announce it as it is." Her words were directed at the others though her eyes were seemingly more interested in keeping her fingers attached to her hands.

The name of the other person caused an eyebrow to raise and she almost looked away keying in on the familiar family name. "If you are not a Creedan, then how did you get that sword? From what I remember they don't give those out to anyone but those trusted enough to be called family or their actual blood." Her eyes finally moved to look over at the human, slowly moving her features before looking towards Galladis and then back to the girl.

Hmmmm....something isn't right. She thought looking over once more to Galladis. She shifted to be more seated on the ground and began to hum softly trying to fill the air that was seeming to get heavy with nervous energy. Of course she was part of that energy but her training had beaten into her to keep from outwardly showing that her heart was racing or that she wanted to be anywhere than there in the tent surrounded by people that she didn't trust or know.

The fae leaned back to rest on the palms of her hands and closed her eyes tilting her head back, she was aware of her surroundings but was trying to just focus on understanding the communication between her and Cathix. She moved her neck as though she was popping it and a few uncomfortable sounding cracks resounded before she lifted her head and a hand to rub against her neck.

That felt good but yet not good at the same time. Even though she was thinking, the simple lullaby she was humming kept going as her eyes closed once more. Do you need more to eat Cathix? I can always get up and get more. Sitting here is getting rather dull.
