Amrinis | Water Dragon | Bonded to Sol Saanvi Dayal | M: Sol
.
.

The young dragoness had been quite enjoying her time in the egg; a gentle warmth surrounded her, a thin layer of fluid protecting her from drying out or the solid inners of her protective casing. She remained in a fetal position for the duration of her stay in the dark warmth, curled in on herself with her chin tucked gently into her own chest to ensure her own warmth was also preserved. The water dragon had been so confident and secure in the safety of her egg, that the lack of room to stretch out as the time to hatch came hardly bothered her; what was so great about the outside, if she was to start her life here? As far as she was concerned, she saw no point in leaving her perfect little haven.

An unfamiliar senstation had caused the young dragon to open her eyes, head lifting gradually from its resting position. A feeling washes over her, a comfortable purr rumbling from deep within as she slowly begins to stretch out, to push at the egg protecting her from the world; she didn't want to leave, necessarily, but something was pulling at her. Home.

Her awkwardly large wings, quite unproportionate compared to her petite figure, stretched out abruptly, breaking through the egg and peeking through before any other part of her body had the chance to. Her hind-legs had followed, feet pushing through and further cracking her secure casing.

She had attempted to follow with her head, bumping it firmly against the top, but failing to break through. An indignant, watery sqawk had sounded, as her frill pushed roughly into the top, a mere muffled noise to those in the outer world. I'll just stay here, then!

Of course, in tugging her legs and wings back in rather roughly, she caused the egg to shatter, for lack of a better term. Large pieces had fallen from around the hatchling, leaving only what she was sitting on still in piece.

The grey-and-blue hatchling had looked quite confused and grumpy at the sudden flooding of light into her eyes, a wing lifting to shield her gaze as she looks around her; what was that feeling?

When her gaze had settled on an individual standing before the podium, a quite eager purr had sounded, the hatchling wriggling excitedly and moving almost too quickly to stand, tumbling a few times before righting herself and waddling toward the end of the table. The delicate frill from nose to shoulder stood happily tall, pupils wide and round as she peers up at the woman before her. Home.

}{ Alastor "Al" Adtris }{ M }{ Elf Judge }{ Everyone(in thought) }{

Alastor made his way to the gathering, his posture straight and elegant. He kept his eyes ahead of him and his hands clutched behind his back. He stood far from the crowd, watching with less curiosity than normal. Alastor's gaze surged over the crowd, his eyes nonetheless duller than usual. Elves were supposed to be joyous and happy all of the time, right? Nope, Not Al, at least.

How boring. Such a shame.

Alastor thought towards himself, closing his eyes briefly to think. What should I do to pass the time? Think. A soft rumble escaped from his throat as he yawned, merely a soft, tiresome sound. He watched as yearlings protrude through the thin shells of the eggs. He was not amused. Alastor had seen it many times, it nonetheless becoming more tedious. 'Don't think like that, Al. Lighten up,' He convinced himself, huffing.

Before he could react, His legs started to move, bringing his body towards a rather large table. He pulled a chair from said table and sat down, resting his palms on the cold surface. Hm. Grumbling, Alastor relaxed his shoulders a bit. He sighed, letting out a deep breath. "Well then." He cleared his throat, closing his eyes.(Short, Writer's block)

Azo | Earth Dragon | Bonded to Topaz | M: Topaz

"Are you in there?", whispered the voice that drew Chimborazo awake.

The tiny hatchling yawned, stretching out his mud brown wings, wanting to press towards that voice. He just wanted to be with it - the foreign presence that had wormed its way into his mind; foreign, but familiar and comfortable all the same. It was warm in his shell, but he felt a pull to the outside, to the one who had called him. No, these walls would have to go.

Azo carefully stretched out, but his sturdy egg remained unmoved. Gently, he attempted again, and to no avail. He managed to peck his nose out, so he could smell the world, cold against his scales, but could feel nothing. With a tiny, stubborn shift, he threw open his small wings with every ounce of power in his tiny body, and threw himself forward towards the voice. Or maybe backwards. He wasn't entirely sure, because suddenly, his egg was rolling off the table, and was airborn.

Azo screamed a sort of sqwauking cry of alarm, his snout still stuck out the shell, will the rest of his body was immobile.

The impact with the ground shattered the egg immediately, and the dragonling sat there, blinking. The world was cold. He liked it, though; not cold, really, but refreshing. Exciting. He blinked with a snort, finding the human that had called him out.

With a excitied sqwuak, Azo leapt and tumbled towards the woman, reaching her leg, and clinging on with a painfully intense grip - he refused to let go. This felt right. He was not going to leave her, not ever - she was his person, Azo was sure. He would protect her. The dragon wrapped his mud brown wings around her boot, staring warily at the other two-legged individuals around. They were not nice. Azo liked his person much better, whoever she was.

Sol Saanvi Dayal | F | Bonded: Amrinis | M: Amrinis

Focus. You can't panic, and you can't run, so get your head straight, Sol.

Sol was horrified. Terrified. Mortified, take your pick of words - it didn't matter. Sol shrugged on an easy, flat mask, as though she had been completely prepared for this all along, as though she had no care in the world.

She would not let herself slip away into fear. Under the eyes of hundreds, she felt the need to sweep her flyaway hairs across her ears, to hide the subtle point on her darker, human skin. She stamped the instinct down - she didn't care what they thought, although any sort of measure to hide her lineage was for self-preservation purposes at this point. And Sol really didn't have any of that, so by all the stars in the sky, they could stare and gawk and she wouldn't care.

All that mattered was the gray-blue dragon crawling towards her. There was something enchanting in those seafoam eyes, something that drew Sol towards the small creature. Carefully, the young woman steadied her breath, and reached out a hand to the hatcling; she didn't care of all her superstitions, because this felt so undeniably right.

She released the gaurds on her mind, and tried to extend across the subtle connection with the hatchling.

"I am Sol," she managed to say. At least she thought she had said. It was rather difficult to pluck words out of silence.

I probably just called her a water-breathing toad. I wouldn't put it past me. God, this dragon really choose the bastard idiot who can barely take care of herself, much less figure out how to communicate telepathically with a scaly reptile.

She stilled her racing thoughts. How did one go about adressing a dragon?

"Who are you, little dragon?"

They needed to get out of here, towards the tents in which Sol had observed bonded riders dissapear into. She wasn't going to wait to be ushered off, as they had - this would be on her own terms, and her dragon's terms. Sol felt obligated to tread carefully. Dragon's were intelligent creatures, just as any human, fae, or elf, and she wasn't going to treat one like a child, picking it up and carrying it as she pleased. She guessed that was how she was supposed to act around them, at least. Sol hadn't a clue about any of this.

All I wanted was some entertainment before heading back home.

And now I have a dragon. A very adorable dragon, but a dragon all the same.

Galladis Verael | M | Re'enalla | Wren, Zeb, Topaz (briefly), Azo, Sana

As Galladis watched Wren from a distance, his mind wandered. What am I doing? Get a hold of yourself. And by Solis, if my name isn't Galledeas Verael the Dragonborn, I've got to stop being pitiful. He shook his head. Taking a slow breath, he looked around with caution. Topaz was nearby, she had a mud-colored hatchling by her feet. Inwardly, he smiled, only to be matched with a pang of sadness. That's Gem, all right. He forced himself to look away from the amusing scene. It was just too much, too soon. For now, he'd have to keep away from Topaz as much as he could until after the bondings. There was still a chance she would recognize him. He only hoped that wouldn't happen.

So he chose to go over to his apprentice, Zeb. She seemed to be slightly annoyed at the elf towering above them both. In an instant, he recognized her. A little ways behind her, he spoke up. "Latitharen." He passed her silently to stand next to Zeb. She didn't make a move, merely watched him with her shifting eyes. "Dragonborn Verael." Their interactions, normally, were... tense, to say the least. She didn't like him, but respected him. He wasn't a fan of her either, but he gave her the same respect for being able to clear a room faster than a halfling. Not to mention the few times they did cross paths, he got electrocuted.

He turned to Zeb, gesturing for Sana to talk with one of the other candidates. He gave a small frown. "Shouldn't you be bonding? It's important for the first hours." A thought crossed his mind. "I remember when I bonded... the first thing Wren thought to me was that she sneezed the sun." He boyishly grinned at Zeb, nearly huffing out laughs between breaths. Not every bonding had a comical dragon. But his did. Shaking his head with an amused sigh, he raised his hand to the small dragon. "You know where to go, right? Just over to the tent-" he ungracefully tipped his head to it- "but any place you feel would be better is alright."

He cocked his head at Zeb. There was always a time he could see emotions. Today was no exception. She was sad... at least a little. Likely no one else could tell. But he knew her more than they did. "Hey. You know..." a sigh escaped him. "You know my power. I can show you your memories... if you want to see them afterwards." He lowered his hand from the dragon. "But it isn't always a blessing."

Aroa | F | Bonded: Æschylus | Time Dragon| M: Esse, Topaz and Orrian indirectly so I can control them lol

The little creature snuggled further into the man's chest. It was warm and safe. Yes, this was much preferable to the loud-ness. Whatever the cries of those like him, her person, they assaulted her sensitive ears. She needed to get away, somehow. Her tail wrapped tighter around his wrist at the thought.

He was asking her something. Name? What was she called? The little creature pondered this for a second before she was swept into a vision. Not nearly as strong as her first, it lasted only a heartbeat. An era passing before her eyes. A black dragon emblazoned on a bronze shield. A small egg in a leather satchel. That person, over there, was something like hers.

Called? Called 'Roa. And that was that, but she wasn't finished. It was his turn now. You, called?

The sudden fear that radiated off her person startled her. She hid her head in his chest as the tall person, oh he was so tall, spoke to hers. Yes, hers. A nice name. What was he scared of? The tall one didn't seem upset. In fact, she kind of liked his voice. Didn't her person, too? It seemed like it.

As if she had never startled, she popped her head out under the crook of his arm, silver eyes focused on a woman hurrying around the corner as if something had spooked her with a little dragonling in her arms. Something clicked in her mind, and she squirmed to look up at her person. Belly up, she cocked her head at him with an odd expression.

Like you!

Topaz Finn-Agæca | F | 25 | Human | M: Galladis, Azo, Esse, Orrian

It took a moment for her to process what had happened. The Dragonborn, whatever it had been in his eyes was enough to slur her thoughts as if her mind had taken up the drink. Funny, really, that Topaz never was a big drinker. She might have to try it sometime, now she was starting to see the appeal. She would need it after this day.

Before she could even process it, the egg flew off the table; and all Topaz could do was stand there, frozen by shock. Pitiful.

It wasn't until the little dragon burst out of its shell that she was able to react. Almost as if the emotion wasn't her own, something flooded through her veins, a mixture of joy and adrenaline as the squawking creature attacked her boot. No, not attacked...hugged? Topaz really couldn't tell, but as if on instinct she scooped him up in her arms. It was indeed a him, she felt it. How exactly that worked she couldn't tell you. Yet somehow it felt right.

Finally managing to tear her eyes away from the muddy creature--was it muddy? Topaz wondered if it wouldn't wash off, the thought was almost amusing--wide hazel eyes turned back to the crowd. Like a rabbit when a dog caught sight of it, she froze. It wasn't hard for her to see the odd Dragonborn with his massive bonded looming over him. A boyish grin spread across his face, chilling her to the bone.

Her heart dropped into her stomach, and she felt sick. It was impossible, yet somehow he looked exactly the same. Topaz could see it now, there was no way but somehow she couldn't deny it was him. The revelation caused her to nearly drop the precious creature in her arms in shock. It was the same face she had received when she found a travel journal-not unlike her own-among a bag of old stuff.

Father.

Much to the dismay of the crowd, (who seemed to quite enjoy her standing there for them) Topaz turned and stumbled off the stage, nearly tripping over the red sheath at her hip as she ducked toward the tent and out of sight of the hundreds of peering eyes. But there were more eyes around the corner.

Topaz nearly slammed into a tall elf as she rounded the corner, saved only by his light stride and side-step. He smoothed over his furrowed brow in an instant, and nodded politely to her before taking off back the way she came. Well. Topaz was left with the second set of eyes, or rather, pair. The man who had silenced the crowd and his bonded, a golden baby dragon...thing.

Her eyes slid down to the baby dragon in her arms once again, peeved as he looked down at the little creature. It would be much easier to look down at him than at those in front of her. A stray thought, almost laughable at its randomness after her moment of adrenaline, crossed her mind. Now I have to name you, don't I? How was she supposed to come up with something fitting of a dragon when her horse was named Flea?

Azo | Earth Dragon | Bonded to Topaz | M: Topaz

Azo was scooped up, the young woman easily prying him away from her leg. He probably needed to work on his death grip. There was a shiver of fear as he was in the air, being lifted up, and he was nearly convinced she was going to put him back in his egg, or something - and Azo refused to go back. No, this was his person, and he would hold onto her arm with every last bit of strength he had if it meant he could stay with her.

Luckily, she didn't seem to have any intention of discarding him, and pulled him into her arms. Azo huffed gently, leaning into the warmth. He didn't care where he was going, or what was happening, so as long as he was safe with her, he was happy. There was a sudden, overwhelming flash of shock in her, he felt, and Azo's small face wrinkled in concern. Was she okay? Before he knew it, his person was walking somewhere, or moving, or running, he wasn't quite sure. They did run into a tall man, and Azo picked his head up with startling quickness, swiveling to face his retreating figure. The tiny dragon flattened his ears, flared his ruff, and hissed at him, narrowing large brown eyes.

How dare he touch his person. No, no, Azo didn't like that. What if she was hurt?

The pair entered a tent, and the tiny dragon felt her voice once again. He liked the sound of her.

"Have name," he chirped. It seemed to be an instinct. He knew what he was called. Puffing out his chest, he responded, "Chimborazo. Like a mountain. Big." He hummed to himself quietly, to a tune that his mind drew from nowhere at all, it seemed. His voice was soft and melodic, despite the undignified sqwuaks that had escaped his mouth earlier. "You? Name?"

He wanted to ask if she was okay. His person had seemed surprised on the stage, but it ran deeper than the bonding, he thought.

"You okay?"

Æschylus Rune | ♂️ | Fae-Human Halfling | B: Aroa | M: Aroa, Topaz, Galladeas

The halfling felt a tingling sensation in the back of his brain. He had heard her. he placed a hand on her belly feeling the warmth rise from her. Her name was Aroa. I simply and aestetic name.

I am Æschylus Rune. If that name is too difficuly you can call me Esse.

He lifted his head and took note of the others who had bonded. It seemed he'd caught the eye of a human female. She'd bonded with a muddy dragonet. The erath dragon he assumed. It seemed Galladeas had lost his composure upon seeing her, and the tension between the two was slithering throught he air like an eastern sea serpent. He gently stroked the belly of his dragonet with his fingertips again. The other canditates had ntice the silence ensuing his bonding and he felt the heat rise to his cheeks. The word's of the erotic elf lingered in his ears.

Sanasiliare Areauveçh Latitharen | F | Elf Judge | Orrian, (and briefly >) Zeb, Galladis

Sana yawned. She did not want to be hearing the Fae leader's interactions this early in the... afternoon. It was too early for her not to be enraged with the populace. She snorted, leaving behind the emotionally muddied Dragonborn and his intriguing apprentice. Perhaps the two could be friends. Perhaps. Or maybe not. She made to shrug to herself as if it made no difference personally, but it did. Of course it did. Why would she show others her emotions though? And like lightning, a memory hit her.

"Pathetic." Kurionzhe stalked around her, giving a low growl at Viciatzea's actions. "Again." She shook her head furiously. "But Kur-" A hand slammed down with an unkempt, brute rage on the table in front of her. Vici couldn't help but flinch. Kur wasn't like that, normally. He was a... kind fellow. A good one. "I said AGAIN!" His shout echoed through the busy tavern, quieting all but the hissing noise of the beer tap filling mugs. Vici was only seven. What did he expect of her? He may have been her father, but he never was.

She reached out to the small creature on the table. "But sir..." In her mind, the tiny, defenseless wild dragonet didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve this. With a bleak expression, she looked at the tiny broken frame hidden on the table for an example. She should have... felt something. But the hatchling Kur killed lie there motionless, emotion clogging the silence like smoke. And in that moment, something in her just... withered into dust. She looked at the hatcling in her hands, front arms on her chest, peering up at her with golden eyes. In tears, she looked away. And snapped it's neck.

She was so lost in her memory that she nearly ran the next person over. Orrian. She was well aware that her emotions and expression was one of bitterness and regret, not that she cared for him to see. He could see that she thought he was a flying hog for all it meant to her. "Well well, look who came early." She crossed her arms, ignoring the sudden outburst of the past at the back of her mind. She couldn't, however, ignore the electricity gradually coursing through her arms. "Hey, I dare you Orr: touch Alkannis here."

She was partially glad Alkannis could withstand her electricity. Otherwise he wouldn't have been the first bird she'd had fried. That did mean, however, he could conduct her electricity like she could. It made for some interesting days when too-curious children wanted to pet him. He was a beautiful bird, but much like a rose: thorny. Unwise to touch. At this juncture, he'd become a permanent conductor of her shocks. She'd done it to him, seeing as he preferred people shooting backwards from just tapping him.

It was amazing what one could do with a bird that didn't want attention. Besides, it was kind of... cute to see Orrian float through the air like a starfish. Not that she'd ever admit that. Ha. She sure had her ways of showing affection. If one didn't know her like a friend, and that was almost everyone, there was always an imperceptible difference between her affection and normal attitude: she tried harder to annoy with affection.

"Perhaps we could go off to meet some of the dragons." In a mock voice: "Why yes, hello. Your name is what? You want to be called A? Alright, A. Dragon, it's been a pleasure." The corners of her mouth twisted into a smile as she watched Orrian. She may be mean, but this poke at the meet-and-greeter was too good to pass up.
