DO NOT POST HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE RP.

Time of Day:
Roughly 8 am

Weather:
Partly cloudy, high chance of rain

Season:
Late spring

To start:
Everyone will be assigned their tasks and chores to do around the camp by Rickshaw. However, he will be sending a small group into town to pick up a few supplies. That being said, it leaves the camp quite vulnerable, and because of this, an ambush is committed by a small group of bandits, holding some of the gang members at gun point.

Note: I will be controlling time of day, weather, time skips, etc. Obviously I will run it all by you before doing anything major :)

Lilah Brown | Female | 32 | Gang Member | Mentions: Open

It was a nice morning although clouds were gathering to maybe brew a storm later in the day. It wasn't too hot or cold, that was the good thing about spring. The flowers were blooming, and with flowers came pollen and with pollen came allergies. The birds were chirping which could be pleasant for some people but unpleasant for others. In a small tent laid a woman, two winters into her thirties. Her whole body was covered in blankets. An hour earlier she had been awakened by the sound of the horses in the stable. She had turned over on the side of her working ear to return her to her dead sleep. Her given name was Lilah Brown, a short woman with hair the darkest shade of blonde, so dark a blonde that in dim light she could be mistaken as a brunette.

The sun shone brightly on her eyelids, the only thing that the blankets didn't cover, causing her grey eyes with a hint of blue to open. She was blinded by the light and quickly closed them. "Ahh... man...already?" Lilah muttered to herself with a sigh. Last night she had lost track of time stargazing, her head throbbing from the two, okay maybe more than two fingers of whiskey that she had nursed while stargazing. She didn't drink that often but when she did drink, she would often drink a little too much. It wasn't her fault; she was just forgetful at times. Lilah was a fun drunk, very nice and bubbly, a little too talkative though. Now not so much, she felt like she had been hit by a wagon going top speed down a dirt road. She had no idea how she made it to her tent and changed in her nightgown. She remembered sitting around the fire with the gang and a glimpse of looking at the stars then she woke up. Her mouth felt sour which meant she most likely threw up somewhere. Not in her tent though so that was good.

Lilah sat up, her eyes squinting as she rubbed them. She yawned and grabbed a small mirror to see her scrambled, wavy hair. She sighed and started to brush it which took a while since there was grass and hay mixed in. Finally, her hair was presentable. It was a now-neat middle part, her hair was wavy and thick reaching to her midback. She grabbed a button up long-sleeved white shirt, a light brown vest, and her dark brown trousers. Once she put that on, she wrapped a black belt on her waist band. The finishing touches was her green bandana which she tied around her neck and her light brown hat that now sat on top of her head. She looked back in the mirror, noticing that she looked like a corpse. Her lips were pale, so she added some color and pinched her cheeks hard to look livelier. She stood up as much as one could in a tent to look for her boots, when she found them, she put them on.

Lilah didn't hear anyone out and about but then again, she was half deaf. She went to the ash-filled fire pit before she brought the fire back to life with some logs and twigs. It wasn't the biggest, but it would do, she grabbed a pot and started making the coffee. Once it was done, she poured some in her tin cup and started drinking it to bring herself back to life. She was surprised to be the first one up. Her head was still throbbing, but it was all good because now she had her fill of coffee. It was weird with the camp being so quiet. She didn't have the best hearing, but it was usually pretty loud even with only one good ear. The woman waited for the others to awaken as she slowly regained some energy. The energy was so good in fact that she returned to the food supplies and returned with another pot with some water to make grits for everyone. Her stomach grumbled as the grit-filled water warmed up and eventually boiled.

Aidan Ryder || 25 || SIC || M: Ind -- Rickshaw, Lilah, Nawaji; Open

Schlllllick. Schlllllick. Schlllllick. Scritch.

The sounds of a knife scraping up against wood echoed slightly around the clearing where Aidan sat with a sturdy branch in his tanned, calloused left hand and a gleaming, long hunter's knife in his right. His rhythmic motions pushed the blade up against the now-naked branch and caused the separating wood to curl. Rings of tree essence twirled to the ground at the end of every blow, and a pile of wood particles was beginning to form on the ground below.

Cool, bright blue eyes scanned the surrounding area with a sort of nonchalant indifference. The morning was quiet, somewhat chilly, and overall rather relaxing. Aidan stood and stiffened his legs, bending backwards and tensing his shoulders to stretch out his back. He released a held breath with a strained grunt and sat himself back down, sheating the knife and dropping his stick. The young man took a moment to just... exist.

He could smell rain. The taunting scent of a cool, wet forest drew ever near, as it had since early that morning. Aidan had been up for a few hours already, having arisen before the sun to work with his horse a little. He felt very much awake now; actually, it felt closer to lunch time than early-mid-morning. Aidan was a little hungry, now that the thought had drifted in. He could hear water boiling; it appeared he was not the only one up and rolling. But of course he wasn't -- not everyone slept until midday. Nawaji's frame was already moving about the stables and towards the central fire. The man wouldn't have been surprised if she had gone hunting and returned with something, animal or plant. He didn't smell anything cooking as of yet, though.

With a sigh, Aidan rain a hand through his short, dark hair and decided that it was about high time he started doing his job. He stood and maneuvered his way through the camp's tents and tenants, nodding to Lilah as he passed her and her boiling pot. Aidan was now on the search for one man in particular: Rickshaw. The plan for the day needed to be figured out soon; otherwise, everyone would end up hanging around until dark and whoever was tracking them would be twenty-four hours closer to finding their new encampment. Aidan didn't want to deal with that much loss again. The carnage, the destruction.

He shook such dark thoughts from his mind and focused on his self-given task. Find Rickshaw, find Rickshaw, find Rickshaw. First, Aidan approached the largest tent in the upmost northwest corner. He stopped outside and knocked on one of the sturdy poles to announce himself. If the leader wasn't there, Aidan wasn't sure where he'd be. He would need to do some reconnaissance work.

William Brant | Male | 19 y/o | Member | Mentions: Lilah (Dir.) Aidan (Ind.)

The rhythmic sound of hooves hitting the ground could be heard, quickly getting closer and closer to the camp, something that would have been a bit alarming if not for the fact that you could hear the horse's rider yelling behind it, “Basia whoa! Slow down girl!”

Soon the fiery mare came into view of the camp and slowed down into a trot, prancing around in a circle with her tail raised and snorting loudly. Not long after came her rider, out of breath and limping. He’d taken the thoroughbred out for a quick morning ride, or at least that was what he’d intended to do. She’d spooked at a rabbit jumping out of a bush on their way back, causing her to flee out into the forest, ramming his right knee into a tree causing him to lose balance and irritating the mare with the sudden weight change so before he could regain his balance, she’d bucked him off.

William had been running after the horse, to the best of his abilities, making sure that she didn’t get injured or that someone tried to catch or follow her back to the camp. Now finally he was able to slow down and catch his breath again as he watched the chestnut prance around. After a moment of regaining his breath though, he made an attempt to approach her and calm her down, speaking to her with a low and soft voice. The mare stopped and looked down at him while snorting loudly and pinning her ears. She allowed the young man to get close enough to grab her reins and when he did he started petting her gently on her neck while muttering, “You oughta relax Bas…”

Pulling the reins over her head, William began walking with her a little to cool her off, due to the fact that his body felt all sore, there was no chance he’d get back up on her right now. As they walked, he turned his head and looked over at the camp, noticing a few people who were up and awake. He turned his attention back to the mare, waiting for her to slow her breathing and drop her head in relaxation before limping over to the stables and untacking his horse. He looked over at the large Percheron who also belonged to him and stood half asleep just a few steps away from them. William reached over and gave her a pat on the side of her neck, watching her open her eyes slightly and looking at him before closing them again.

After having made sure that Basia wasn’t injured from her little morning run, he left the stables and started over towards the fire pit. His clothes and face were dirty so going to clean up and change clothes was probably what he should do but it wasn’t what he intended to do.

“Mornin’ Lilah,” he said to the blonde as he took a seat by the fire, pulling out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, luckily they had survived his fall with minimal damage. He put one between his lips as he put the pack back into the pocket before grabbing the cigarette and holding it into the fire, lighting it before he leaned back a little and started smoking it. He let his hazel gaze scan over the camp, so far there was no sign of their leader but he could see Aidan over by his tent, meaning that he was likely looking for him.

Now although Stefan despised early mornings, the previous night he had been tossing and turning in his sleep for what seemed like eons. He could never recover from the tiredness he felt in his droopy eyes, therefore he stayed awake practically the whole night, sipping on whiskey he had accumulated months ago. His breath stunk of it, as it always had, but he had no regrets in managing a life like this. Sure it was depressing, but he really had no thought of escaping it any time soon. There was nothing else for him to really live for.

Stefan grabbed the whiskey bottle from the side of his cot, peering through the crack in the tent entrance. He squinted slightly, the light blinding him before his eyes adjusted and he could confidently walk out without the sun burning his striking blue eyes. However, what was more striking was the scars that made their appearance known when the sun rays hit his face. He grumbled slightly, his steps uneasy.

"Lotte!" He hollered, spotting his younger sister taking dirty, musty clothes and hanging them outside of her tent. The woman turned her head, looking over her shoulder. Lotte was never one to define Stefan by his alcoholism, but Stefan knew that she did. Deep down. She had to.

"Stefan," she inhaled, turning towards him as he stumbled towards her, taking a swig off of the bottle.

"You make... food?" He slurred. Lotte shook her head, saying no, but also out of disappointment. She snatched the bottle from his hand, getting a firm grip before she took it by the neck of the bottle and threw it to the ground with force, the glass shattering and the liquid inside soaking in the earth that they stood on.

She looked up at Stefan. "No. Now, if you want me to make you food, go get yourself cleaned up."

Stefan clenched his fists, knowing that Lotte had to just be sick of him. Over time, after walking his hungover ass back to his tent, he realized that she had to have been doing that out of the 'kindness of her heart', otherwise she wouldn't have done it at all. He groaned as he began changing into his average attire, and a few moments later, he was looking as though he wasn't entirely tired or drunk. Sure he still looked rough, but it was better than before.

He made his way back over to Lotte. "You seen Rickshaw?" He questioned.

"No, why?" Lotte replied.

"'Cause I'd like to do something productive with my life," he grumbled. Though he was being sarcastic, he figured it would please Lotte more if he wasn't just moping around and drinking.

"Well I haven't seen him," she replied, hanging the last few articles of clothing. She hummed a quiet song to herself, and after looking around, Stefan realized that he was just nothing.

He barely existed.

Victoria Smith|Female|Member|M: Isaac(dir), Aiden(in), Stefan (in), Rickshaw (in)
.
Isaac had awoken the woman before dawn to go searching for some sort of berries he'd had a craving for. Nevertheless, Willow and Daisy had needed the stretching so they went along to find the huckleberries and filled a whole saddlebag with them. Not soon enough, they were trudging back to the camp. Isaac had his stupid grin plastered across his face as he rode his gelding. The only time she ever caught that man sitting up straight was when he rode Jimmy. Victoria, however, had a resting glare settled across her features. She was still rather new, a whelp, and so she hardly was able to recognize any faces beyond Isaac, Rickshaw, and Rickshaw's Lapdog Aiden. That guy just pressed her nerves for no reason. How many words had they exchanged? Four in total? The idea made Isaac laugh everytime. Although, not as much as when he saw the honey blonde woman come crawling onto her horse in her sleepers and bare feet. Clearly hoping she'd be back in time to catch some extra sleep.
.
As they returned to camp and realized that it was a bit bustling with life now, her cheeks reddened ever so slightly. Isaac seeing her in her night dress was a lot different than the whole lot. Isaac gave a low whistle and a chuckle, "My Golly, Tia. Might have to run out the back so nobody sees just how tan you are, aye?" He said , nodding to her legs that were mostly revealed as she rode astride. The woman shot him a glare, but did turn her silver mare to walk around the camp instead of just walking directly through. At the edge the only person she'd be slightly worried about would be the siblings or Rickshaw. Everyone else would probably just get a good laugh out of it. She still took the time to change for bed, staying away from alcohol unlike some members, she was able to.
.
As quietly as she could, and quickly, she yanked on her normal trousers and off white shirt. Her socks and boots were last, leaving her hair in the knot she'd thrown it into in a rush earlier. Tia made sure Willow was secured and whistled for Daisy who had wondered off awhile ago. It took a few moments but the mutt came padding into the view and stayed at Victoria's side as she crossed through the camp not bothering to smile at anyone. That was Isaac's job to be the ray of sunshine.
.
Tia wrinkled her nose as she found said Ray of sunshine eating his wild blue berries as he sat on a large rock. Jimmy, that loving beast, stood beside Isaac just waiting for him. Victoria glanced at the large tent only to see Aiden waiting outside and decided that Isaac was the safer route.
.
"I thought you were going to share these with the others?" She asked, reaching a lean arm into the saddle bag to grab a handful.
.
Isaac tossed a Huckleberry at Daisy, the dog gladly caught it. "I am, aren't I Daisy? And don't forget you," he said, nodding his head to the handful she had slowly been popping in her mouth. "Good, ain't they? Hmm?" The man asked eagerly, looking up from under his straw hat.
.
Tia rolled her eyes. "You're something," She muttered, popping a few more into her mouth as she waiting for Rickshaw.

“Slicker” | 22 | Male | Homosexual | Member

M: Vera (Dir.), Lotte (Dir.), Issac (Dir.), Aiden (Ind.), + Stefan (Ind.)

Slicker glanced down at the cards in his hand before his eyes flicked up to study Vera. Vera’s expression was that of a lost child struggling to decide what to do with herself, worriedly eyeing her cards. Seemingly feeling his eyes on her, Vera looked up at Slicker and instantly glared, flipping him off with a grumble. Slicker burst into laughter as he pulled his cigarette from his lips. Vera shuffled so she was leaning as far away from Slicker as possible, holding her cards close to her chest as she glared at the cards down on the ground between them.

“Are you ever going to—”

“Shhhhh!” Vera instantly barked, glaring dangerously at Slicker like a dog about to lunge into him and bite his throat out. “I am think— I am thinking! Do no— Do not— rush me!!” Vera instantly corrected herself on her grammar as she spoke, still not great at English. Whenever she was nervous, she often misspoke the most.

“I’m just trying to—”

“Shhhhh!!”

“You are so bad at—”

“SHHHH!!!”

“Biiiitch.”

¡Puto!

Slicker snickered as he finally got Vera to speak in her first language out of frustration, leaning onto his back as he stared at the ceiling of the tent while taking a drag from his cigarette. Slicker took the cigarette out of his mouth and balanced it between his fingers. Humming softly, Slicker closed his eyes and waited for Vera. Vera kicked his foot after a minute of silence.

“Oh-kay, oh-kay!” Vera said proudly after slamming a card down on the floor, pronouncing the words. “You go now, Pretty Boy.”

“Fucking finally,” Slicker chuckled. Slicker placed his cigarette back between his teeth as he sat up, looking at Vera with a wide smirk as he held up one card confidently. Vera seemed to be muttering a prayer under her breath, hoping, no, begging God to let her win. God must either not exist or hated Vera because Slicker placed down the card slowly onto the floor of the tent, his smug aura filling the tent like the smoke from his cigarette with just two words that he uttered from his bloodied lips: “I win.”

“Moutherfoucker!!” Vera swore loudly as Slicker gleefully picked up the buttons the two had been using instead of chips before tossing them up and letting the buttons rain down on him. “You cheat! You cheated!!” This only caused Slicker to laugh more. Slicker had nearly stripped down entirely, reduced only to his dirty and grease stained tank top, his dark brown torn shorts, and his hat, due to Vera’s insistence that he was hiding his cards. “You hid them under your hat, did you not??” Vera yanked him closer by his tank top and lifted up his hat. “Ahaha!!” Vera proudly lifted up a card that had been placed on Slickers matted hair and showed it to him triumphantly. “You did cheat!!”

“Did you actually look at the card?” Slicker prompted with eyes filled with amusement. Vera stopped, slowly flipping the card over to see for herself what the card was before flipping him off in a fit of rage.

¡Carajo grasiento!

Slicker, knowing Vera would do her usual routine and believe Slicker was cheating, cleverly placed a joker card which she promptly threw down at him before stomping out of the tent, swearing the whole way to the others.

Slicker sighed happily before sitting up and collecting all the cards Vera had thrown around. Slicker struggled to pull his pants back on for a moment before slipping out of his tank top and pulling on his thin, long-sleeved shirt instead. Gathering his belt and holsters onto his hip, Slicker put on his vest. After dusting off his hat and stepping outside, Slicker properly placed on his black cowboy hat before affixing it snugly to his head. Slicker took his cigarette from his mouth before stamping it with his heel; holding his hand out, he looked up at the sky.

“Huh… looks like it’s gonna rain.” Slicker smiled softly to himself before walking over to the others.

Slicker walked to the rest of his gang while the smell of Lotte’s cooking waffed in his direction as he watched Vera wordlessly hovering beside her, hoping to be helpful while still not wanting to get in her way. Vera often did this as, even though she had been with the group for quite some time, she was very shy at asking if she could help. Yes, she was a very blunt and bold woman, but she also did not want to be intrusive and rude as she had been told many times before. Meanwhile, he could see Aiden and Stefan, both of whom he would have to annoy and speak with later, waiting by the entrance of Rickshaw’s, the group’s leader, tent, but that wasn’t what intrigued him. No, what really caught his eyes and brought a smile to his face was—

“Daisy!” Slicker cried excitedly with a large grin on his face that revealed the gap between his teeth, trotting over to the dog after he pushed past Issac and he patted his lap and invited her to come to him. “Come here, girlie!! Who’s the bestest girlie ever?? You are! Yes, you are!!~” Slicker looked over to Issac with a warm smile. “Hey Issac! How’s it going?” Slicker’s gray eyes scanned Issac before quickly noticing the berries and smiling more. “Did you pick those? Mind if I steal one??” It was already too late for Issac to reply because he had already reached his hand into the bag of freshly picked berries and practically swallowed one whole. Slicker’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Damn, those are good…!”

Nawaji Thunderhawk || 22 || Member || M: William (Ind), Others (Ind), Open

Nawaji's black eyes roamed the area before her. From her station at the stables, she could see others moving around and some coming back. William appeared not too far off to re-stable his mare and check on another before moving off into the tents, leaving the young woman alone once more. She didn't mind; she preferred to spend her mornings in a more... solitary environment, anyhow.

The sharp smell of thyme hit her senses and she realized that the sprig of herbs she'd been holding in her left hand were now being rolled between her thumb and forefinger. She pursed her lips and released a dissatisfied hum before dropping the crushed leaves. Nawaji retraced her steps from the stable to her own tent and threw open the flap, allowing the smells of several freshly-reaped plants to waft outside. Now she was hungry.

The young woman pulled out salt and pepper, of course, as well as a few slices of dried venison, some old sprigs of rosemary, and dried sage. Nawaji set them all inside her metate, pulled the dished stone outside of the tent, and got to work crushing the plants and seasonings together while letting the jerkey soak up a little water on a plate next to her. Once the herb mixture had been worked into a fine powder, she pressed the powder into the semi-rehydrated deer meat and then headed over to the campfire in the central area of the little commune.

Nawaji threw down the venison onto a thinner, disc-shaped rock and placed it as much in the fire as she could without worrying about pulling it back out again; she'd made that mistake before. She pulled out a hunting knife and, every few minutes, she gave the venison a flip. She only needed it to be heated, really, as it had technically already been cooked. It didn't take long.

She pulled the rock out again with short, jerky movements. Once the meat had cleared the flames, Nawaji plucked it off the rock and set it on her little plate to cool. Sitting down with her legs crossed, she hunched over her breakfast and turned her eyes to those around her once more. She did not quite trust them all, but... well, they were her family, now.

Rickshaw "Rifle" Warren || 30 || Male || Leader || Everyone, Aidan

Rickshaw's brow creased as he looked at the maps on his desk. Wolf sat beside him, head resting on the table. The trails got closer and closer to their camp... it wouldn't be long before they'd be up at gunpoint. Soon. We may have to... If they were put at gunpoint, he'd be the only one to come out alive. Imprisoned, but alive. The Pinkertons wouldn't dare kill him, likely preferring him to suffer his fate as permanently living without the rest of them. If they were caught, that would happen. He knew it. He could feel it. And he remembered the last time he was imprisoned... it wasn't a pleasant memory. But it all came back to him.

Knock, knock, knock.

Someone rapped on a post outside of his tent, and he- instinctively- knew it was Aidan. He paused, looking down at the maps, eyes narrowed in exasperation. Then, getting up, he opened the tent flap to find his Second in Command surprised that he'd responded so quickly. "What, didja think I wouldn'ta been up? Been so for awhile, now." He smirked at the man in front of him. But he briefly glanced beyond him to see, much to his disdain, the gang members. Lighting a fire. In the camp. He swore under his breath, muttering something about "we're gonna get caught 'cause of y'all" and ducked back into his tent, grabbing his map of Openshaw.

He made it down to the fire swiftly, not caring if Aidan was following. Knowing the man, though, he probably would be. Thankfully, no one seemed to notice his arrival, and he rested his shoulder against the side of the Supply Tent. For a while, he just stood there, watching them wake up.

And then the fire began to smoke.

"Can't leave that goin' too long. They'll see it." He pushed himself off of the tent, looking at each of their surprised faces in turn. Wolf lay down, watching the group in silence. "For those of you who're up- and all of you who ain't- we've got a lotta things to get done. Been low on supplies awhile." Nodding at Slicker and William, he gestured to the stables. "You two are goin' out to town. Take what ya want, do what ya want, but bring back enough for the rest of us." Turning away, he looked directly at Nawaji. "You and Stefan take watch around the camp. You'll be near the horses so we don't lose 'em. Althaus, you can be on the west side, by your tent."

He briefly eyed the man, looking at his current state. He was drunk, but that wouldn't be a problem. Stefan was good no matter what state he was in, and with their reduced numbers, probably the best they had. "Silver can go hunting, and wouldja take Smith with you? She could learn somethin' about it." He nodded at Lirieth, then whistled at Wolf, who joined the two women.

"Lotte."

His eyes turned to her. "We need someone to wake everyone up. You're the best at it. Especially Joseph. We can't have 'em all lyin' around this late." He tipped his hat at the second Althaus, showing he respected her. And he did, of course. "Lilah, couldja tend to the horses?" Running a boot over the hot firewood, he kicked at it, bringing the flames down. It would still leave smoke, but... less so. Less dangerous that way. He nodded at everyone in turn, walking back to his tent, knowing, somehow, that Aidan would follow. After all, he did ignore him, mostly.

He needed to talk to the man in an... urgent manner. Best way to do it was to ignore 'im.

Lotte couldn't stand Stefan and his drinking. While she still managed to support him through everything that he's endured, considering he's family after all, Lotte still couldn't bare it. There had been times where she thought about simply leaving the gang, going to live in Openshaw or another neighboring town, perhaps even out of the state, and live a life on a ranch with a husband and a few kids. But of course, Lotte was never one to just abandon someone.

She knew what that felt like.

She hummed softly as Stefan's attention was interrupted by the man himself. Rickshaw. She turned his way as well, looking towards him. Hearing his orders, Lotte shot a glance. He somehow looked annoyed, but then she remembered that's what her older brother always looked like. Annoyed and tired. She chuckled softly. "Is that what you meant by productive?" She whispered towards Stefan, earning a harsh glare.

"Shush," he grumbled, going towards his tent to do whatever. Probably grab his guns or something, she assumed, and while she had listened to Rickshaw, he really caught his attention by just saying her name.

"Yes?" She turned back around, adjusting her clothing slightly as she brushed her hands off on herself, nodding. She offered a kind smile, seeing him tip his hat towards her. "Of course," she replied, looking in her peripherals to see Stefan lighting a cigarette and holding his firearm. She sniffled slightly before she began making way over to him.

"Before I do what I was told, Stefan, I need you to know something," she said, earning a peaceful look. She expected to see a bottle of beer next to him or in his circle, but there wasn't. "You're doing good. We appreciate you. But you've got to stop, okay? I'm sorry for-"

"I don't want your damn apology, woman. I get it. I'll deal with the consequences of it," Stefan groaned softly, observing the land ahead of him. He puffed out smoke after taking a drag off his cigarette. Lotte sighed softly.

"I mean it."

"Okay."

Lotte turned away from her brother, beginning to walk towards Joseph's tent. She would greet anyone she walked past, if that were really anyone. Peeking inside of the tent, she saw a sleeping man, much older than anyone else in the camp, and she whistled softly to see if that would get his attention.

Nothing.

Approaching Joseph, she reached out, gently shaking his body. "Rickshaw needs you up," she said softly, not entirely a whisper, but not bombarding his ears either. Hopefully she wouldn't have to stand here and shake the man violently instead, but who knew. Maybe her gentle touch wouldn't do the trick.

Lotte hadn't really gotten close with anyone in the group. She respected most of them, and knew her brother wouldn't grow close either. You see, Lotte has this certain attachment to people that she refuses to let go. Perhaps that's why she can't just leave him behind. Or leave at all. This gang was like a family, and even though she wasn't close with everyone or knew their favorite colors, she still appreciated them for who they were.

Nobody could take that from her. Not even the law. Not even fate.
