Layne Marie // 17 // M // Star Lead // Respawn/Winged // M: Open Christmas was okay. It wasn't the best of days but it wasn't the worst either. It was at least a day. But around the time of curfew was when everything seemed to go down. The lights flickered, the school grounds shook, and then the darkness. That was the eerie silence. The darkness. No humming of lights, no heat, no electronic humming--nothing. Just silence and the eerie darkness. Layne, discovered in some odd fashion, that in the lack of electricity, his golden wings did in fact glow. Strange. But that was far less intimidating than the screech of creatures in the woods that seemed far closer and less than earthly. His heart jumped into his throat as he rushed to find the other two star students. Or anyone in general. |

"Ow!" I hiss, then nod in agreement. "Yeah, it's getting dark." I pad over to Alex and rub my shoulder against hers, still in my wolf form. "Can I walk you and Skylar to your room?" I ask. "And maybe hang out with you for a bit? I'm not very tired yet."

I unconsciously shift, and lunge inside. "Skylar, I don't know! Where IS she? Do you think..." I realize that I have huge black wings, and my fur is flecked with glowing blue sparks. I've shifted into my winged wolf form, which is VERY bad news. I'm only able to shift to this form if there is extreme danger. "Oh no..." I breathe. "We have to get out of here!" I see something in the trees, and snarl in pure fear. "If Mrs. Grey is gone... we have no protection!" |
