To be honest the only reason I train in teams is because I have too many mid-level wolves to train them all individually

Level 5 was great before it got updated, the higher levels get super difficult if there's a monthly event though :') My team usually dies early but at least I can do quests with my DG team if they do

Its better to save maybe 2000 mushrooms, make sure there is a lot of CP on the wolves, and then buy moves and buy blue jay feathers and just go through it. Yeah they'll die a decent amount of times, however, you'll make more mush for it in the end if your wolves have good cp

I understand that a lot of people think be training in forest 1-2 is better, but the higher level you go, the higher amount of prey/enemies there are.

When I joined the game a bunch of people did it in teams so I also just followed them:P
I usually explore in levels 17-22 of the forest for BE training in teams, maybe a little lower when they're just starting off but it works pretty well still

Xuejiao Tsasanşuurga
Mentor Dragon | Ice Dragon | Female | Mentions : Laika , Nalukraja & Iris, Renzana & Draiochtach

The female gave a rumble of affirmation at her riders words. She too, was sure they would rise from the ashes of this humiliating defeat. It wasn't a matter of if - but a matter of when, they would take as long as needed to do such a thing. They had the mindset and drive to do it ; their enemies must've forgotten what happens when you take things from people. They could become desperate, unpredictable and most definitely violent. If they were smart they would've quickly taken out the dragons before the riders even know. But no, they did worse - they tried to hurt her rider, and her pupils. The female could faintly hear her fins rattling in agitation against the wind as she thought about her students being harmed, or dare her rider being harmed by those invaders. She was a protective creature, and her little family had nearly been touched and she was aching to punish those that had dared to do such things ; but she had to wait, be patient and bide her times with the others. There would be other times for her to get her talons dirty with the blood of her enemies. And she was more relaxed at the thought of the future demise of her enemies. And she decided to continue her conversation with her rider. Who seems to be sentimental at the moment, and she gave a soft chuckle through their link - one warm and affectionate, something only reserved for those she truly cared about, her own warmth pouring through their bond and pouring onto her rider the fierce and protective nature of herself.

I was not happy to be paired with a human ; you're quite lucky my beloved was the one who convinced me not to eat you, she spoke teasingly, but you're better than most humans and I can't see myself having anyone different. It is an honor to serve with you as your companion. Just know that, if anything happens to you, the one who did it will perish by myself and I can only hope you would do the same for me. And of course, once we've collected ourselves, our vengeance upon our enemies shall be swift and merciless. They messed with the wrong nation. They should know better than to take things a dragon holds dear . After all, we can be a little bit obsessive over it. She said, her quiet rage blaring through the link, and a low growl emitted from her as she gave a small, whistle like hiss with a an ending clicking tone. Something she used to express her annoyance and dismay with a situation.

They soon were to land, and the female gently descended from the air, and gracefully landed in a the best way she could without disturbing any trees. Her tail giving a mighty thump as it hit the ground. The female let her rider off, and she blinked as their leader gave commands - soon, following her rider and other mentor to a slightly private area. She moved near her mate, relieved that he was there. She gently placed her tail atop his, a simple grounding contact - for herself and him. She was anxious about the next move, and what it would it mean. And it seemed they were talking of making contact with Nex Drishti, the female narrows her eyes, the face fans were in full display, which was a rare sight - considering she only used it in a display of dominance or true annoyance at something. While she was relieved others seemed to dislike the idea as much as she should, she was rather appalled that they were that desperate for a solution to their crisis. If this was their only option , then they had to be smart about this.

" As much as I hate, the thought of making an alliance with Nex Drishti, " she hissed, saying the female's name as if it was poison, but she released a breath, and composed herself, her voice being more lower, and a bit colder, calculating the costs of an alliance with the odd female " it may be our only option. " she said with a small sigh, and hum in her voice, and she continued, to exact her point , " She has knowledge that we do not possess, and we would do well to be on our guard because of her. I say we definitely do not let the rookies deal with her - at least not by themselves , a mentor definitely will have to be around her at all times especially when she's dealing with the children. She's been without a rider for a whole - so who knows how she'll react to them, and not to mention - she's known for picking fights, biting and handing others and causing mayhem, not to mention the flirting with males she fancies. That will cause problems. " she said, her owl underlying jealousy peaking through, but that was quickly replaced by a more crafty tone of voice, yet there was something somber about it. And she was hesitant to speak of the idea, but she had to make it known, " But there is something we can bargain with, I know this is a long shot and possibly even something that shouldn't even been on the table. But we hold her freedom and reputation in her hands, along with the possibility of finding her another rider. . . " her words solemn and she remained quiet to let her words sink in, " we truthfully don't know what happened with her rider ; if it was an accident or not, only she knows the truth and she's let her own name be besmirched by not even caring to tell the full story. Maybe by contacting her , we can put to rest this mystery and give her something that she would possibly want - a new rider, and a fresh start. I don't like the thought of it, but it's the only card I could think of that we play if we chose to deal with her."

Her last words were a bit quieter, and she hoped that she made some sense when she spoke.

Laban Thayer || Male || 18 || Apprentice Rider || Dragon: Esen || M: Esen, Desmodus, Maxamillian, Renzana (Ind)

A sudden shriek vibrates the molecules of the open air, racing its way towards the group from whatever maker resided behind them. Its vibrato was a shuddering force, eliciting the raising of his hairs and increased pounding of his heart. His head turns on a swivel to look behind him. There flew a dragon he had yet to encounter, a dark looking creature with eyes of haunting red. But, most importantly, it was a behemoth of a bat – undoubtedly the one he had been tasked with spying.

However, it seems he was not the only one to notice his approach to no one’s surprise. ‘That's the dragon I was talking about. It sounds like he will be catching up to us soon,’ his head shifts back towards his companion as Esen’s voice rings through his mind in explanation. In the back of his mind, he had a sense that she may have wanted to add something more onto that statement but didn’t. Though, he could not even begin to fathom what it may have been. An affirmative “mhm hm” is the only response he gives.

A command springs from the experienced rider ahead of them causing his head to jerk towards her. It was a signal for them to land. His grip tightens ever so slightly on Esen in anticipation for their descent. Below was an all too familiar island, one that could not be mistaken for any other. It was the one that the pair had passed over during their first flight. An…. Interesting spot it was for the two – not that he held any sour feelings towards her or tainted memories of the area. Instead, he settled on being glad that her descent was much smoother than their original one.

Upon landing, Laban is given little time to relieve his bluebell companion of his weight from her back before she was on the move once more. Swiftly she turned towards the “bat-ified” beast that had come up behind them and pressed her face into his form – all the while releasing a sustained purr. It jostled him slightly but he made no complaints about it, chalking it up to him being unprepared for such a movement. Though it did irritate his side to a small degree. The other being mimicked her and began purring in sync. Perhaps these two were mates?

As the two ensured the other was unharmed, the larger dragon’s eyes soon landed on him. They were rather intimidating up close, a bright red that seems to glow unnaturally under the present lighting though that could be a trick on the eyes. Both were quick to narrow at the sight of his form, as though scrutinizing the young boy. It was an unsettling look for sure, but one only met with a soft smile from the boy himself.

At the air dragon’s shift in focus, Thayer’s attention turns back to her. Her purple gaze was not set upon the familiar face of Maxaxmillian, his dorm-mate… or previous dorm-mate he supposed. However, what came next completely caught him off guard. The sky painted dragon he called his companion turned her attention towards the young man, pausing mid sentence to address him… Only to say he appeared like a “scalded mouse” and ask if he was alright.

It took everything within the white haired boy not to laugh aloud at this, covering his mouth quickly with one hand (the one not near his injured side) and turning his head away to hide his tickled expression. The comparison couldn’t have been more appropriate for the situation, especially considering the size differences between the two teens – let alone him and the dragons. Max’s initial defiance made it all the more amusing, but the emotion faulted at his sudden bout of coughing. His expression felt as he went to look at his peer in concern.

A passing message flows through the bond, causing the boy to once more cast his attention to the purple eyed dragon and away from his fellow human. As she “spoke” he gently slid off her back, ensuring not to disrupt her nor anger his side. The words stood for a sort of introduction, giving a name to the dragon he had been on the lookout for – Desmodus Draculae – and his standing with the female (which he was slightly surprised was not at the stage of mates given their previous interaction). At her question and statement, he nods his head.

His rider and I were dorm-mates back at the academy, Maximilian is his name,’ his words ring through the bond. His free hand reaches over to pat the larger being on the shoulder as she releases a small huff – her eyes firmly centered on the other young rider present.

The bat-like dragon spoke up not afterwards as his short rider slid off his back, stating that the ebony haired boy did not wish to be called a mouse as he was much too large. Following this, a nickname was suggested by the dragon for Laban himself. “Stoat.” An unusual idea, giving him some pause, but it was amusing nonetheless. A rush of air comes from his nose as he holds back a chuckle. He could certainly do with that nickname.

A call to attention broke apart their little chit-chat (if it could even be called that from his of things), shattered by Renzana as she gave out orders. Instructions on who did what and where went pairs was its original pathing, but it soon shifted towards what those left would be doing. He and Esen were not among those selected, left to help set up the camp. Following this, the mentors would be checking for injuries. At the speech’s conclusion, the Thayer’s boy’s eyes shifted towards Esen.

‘I guess we should meet up with those left before finding a camp? I’m not sure of how much help I will be, but I can certainly try.’

Esen || Rookie || Air Dragon || Bond: Laban || M: Desmodus, Laban, Maxamillian, Others (Ind)

"You just look like you've been through the ringer, dear," she said, addressing Max as he protested her description and ended up in a coughing fit. Poor thing. He probably out to have gone straight to a healer, but she was sure the visit would come up eventually; if none of the mentors forced it upon him, then she figured one of the other rookie riders would. If all else failed, she could drag him there herself. With a playful, scolding tone, she turned to Des and added, "Don't be too hard on him; you're stuck with that boy until the end of time, now."

Her head cocked slightly as Laban informed her of the other's name, and she tumbled a more formal greeting to her scalded mouse: "Hello, Maxamillian." Desmodus proceeded to deem Laban a stoat, which earned a small snort from the female after she judged her rider to be accepting of the jest. "Mm. It's only fitting, seeing how long and cute he is. Perhaps 'weasel' is a bit greasy for your rider, though. Once he gets his voice back, I'm sure he'll have some input... Some sort of bird?"

Her attention was stolen as Renzana spoke to the group. Esen's tail swished back and forth, running slowly over the grass beneath her. Make camp? Were there any earth dragons that could dig them some tunnels, perhaps? Those would be easily hidden. But the air dragon was not well acquainted with any of the other rookie dragons outside of Desmodus; she didn't even know if there was a single earth-type among them. And even then, it was not guaranteed that an earth dragon would be the tunneling kind. She winced as the shrieks of the earth dragon back at the academy replayed in her mind. It was too late, now; she had to try and put it aside. There shouldn't have been guilt over surviving when others did not, but there was. Especially now, where her own abilities seemed relatively useless for constructing a camp.

She nudged the now grounded Laban as he connected to her mind. Yes; I'm sure everyone is exhausted. The sooner we get this camp thrown together, the sooner we can tend to wounds and sleep deprivation. She raised her head and looked around them at the other ragtag pairs. Esen released a long sigh, shook herself out, and then sidled closer to Desmodus. "Let's get this going then, shall we?"

Marina West

Apprentice Rider | Female | Dragon: Amhuluk | Mentions: Amhuluk, Renzana, Adamos, Azarimous

Marina sunk into an uneasy silence as they flew, looking down at a familiar island as they were directed to land. She still vividly remembered her first flight. Amhuluk had spent the whole time trying to throw her off, but by will or luck she had stayed on. She still wasn't sure how, since she was still disoriented from their first meeting when the beast had attempted to drown her. Those two factors had gotten their relationship off to a...rocky start to say the least.

Marina gazed around at the gathered dragons and riders. The cool night air played with her unbound dark hair, stars blinking into existence overhead.

Her attention was brought to Renzana as she addressed Amhuluk, instructing him to patrol the oceans. She looked at him, a puff of watery air clouding in the sky as he acknowledged the squad leader. She stood as he set her down with odd gentleness, the ground feeling foreign beneath her feet as she stretched her aching muscles.

Marina met his gaze as he spoke down the bond. She offered a nod, watching as he weaved his way through the crowd, loosing him in a few moments.

Her eyes found Azarimous as he took to the air, leaving Adamos also without his dragon. She noticed his absent expression, witnessing the death of Nicodemus and Kikimora still flashing behind her own eyelids. Without thinking about it, she walked up to Adamos and stopped at his side. She stood there for a moment, processing the right thing to say.

"I'm...so sorry." It was a stupid thing to say. It wouldn't help or bring anyone back, but what else were you supposed to say to someone who watched his brother's death?

Marina gazed around the clearing, watching as everyone started pitching in to build the camp. She knew she should help, and she would, but for now she just wanted this one minute of peace.

Azarimous

Apprentice Dragon | Fire Class | Male | Rider: Adamos Strange | Mentions: Adamos, Renzana, Guang, Amhuluk, Marina

Azarimous flew behind the rest of the group, the cool night air ripping away the comforting heat of his scales. He could feel Adamos’s grief and anger through the bond, but the boy didn’t speak. Azar didn’t push him, flying in silence until he was ready to talk.

He felt Adamos’s anxiety pulsing through the bond moments before he spoke. Azar listened as Adamos asked him to keep away anyone who would wish to speak to him about Nicodemus. He bobbed his head as he answered.

“It is not selfish of you. Everyone mourns in their own way. I will do my best to keep them away.” He sensed Adamos’s gratitude and relief through the bond as he flew. “Do not thank me. You would do it for me if I asked.”

His attention turned to the island where their first flight had taken place, angling his wings and flying toward the island. He was one of the last to land, waiting for Adamos to dismount before looking around.

Azar kept a close eye on Adamos as well as his surroundings. He had never been worried for another creature before, but he had to admit that he was slightly worried for his rider. He looked dejected, as much as he tried to put on a brave face. He lifted his head as Renzana approached Amhuluk and himself. He didn’t catch what she said to Amhuluk, but moments later the water beast had disappeared and Renzana turned her attention to him and Guang, who had appeared moments earlier. He suppressed a growl as she ordered them to patrol the island. He didn’t appreciate being ordered around by a human, and much less wanted to leave Adamos alone, especially after what he had just promised. He begrudgingly agreed, deciding Renzana had everyone’s best interests in mind.

He lowered his head near Adamos. “I must go. Stay with the others, I’ll be back as soon as I can.” He lifted his head and turned to Guang, wordlessly taking to the sky. Guang would be faster on land, and he didn’t fancy walking the entire island.

Azarimous scanned the skies and the ground as he flew, flocks of birds settling into trees and small animals skittering about on the forest floor. The group grew smaller and smaller as Azar flew, the only sound his wingbeats and the droning of the crickets below. He avoided thinking about the events from the past few hours and kept his molten gaze focused ahead of him, aiming for a quick and thorough search so he could return to Adamos sooner rather than later.
