Jaya
Pack Member | Female | Mentions: Caerus, Gara, Isolde

Branches arced through the air, creating a crown of bark and leaves, clawed twigs angled in every which direction. Birds sang as they made their home within the branches of the familiar tree, it's canopy swelling with hope and love, emotions that Jaya had once felt in her own heart. Now the empty space in her chest merely echoed the sounds around her.

Her ears twiched slightly upon her head, before she angled her head back to look behind her, slender visage pulled into an expression of wonder and awe. She had been so enraptured by the bustling life of the forest that she hadn't noticed that she had been happened upon by another. Though, Jaya knew it wasn't of any coincidence that they had.

"Caerus," she greeted quietly, her voice low, but it's tone betrayed her happiness at the sight of him. The female shifted her weight a bit so she could better see him, a slight smile bringing itself upon her features as she moved. When he spoke of her adorning his pelt with flower, the she-wolf parted her jaws as soft laughter bubbled from her, pushing her features into a bigger smile.

"Do not lie to yourself, Caerus. You loved it, even said it made you feel pretty," her voice had lifted an octave as the humor stained her words. Her features dropped though as he continued and she allowed her gaze to shift away from the creature she knew so well, feature pulling back into a passive, but content look.

"Maybe next spring I can show Isolde where the flowers lie... I think she would love them," she commented softly, her voice barely above a murmur. Her tail moved to wrap securely around her hind legs where she sat, a gesture of self comfort in times like these where she remembered all the empty promises they had spoken beneath their tree. They were the wild wonders of two pups, looking back it was only natural that they never happened. The wild imagination of pups never gave thought to reality and how cruel and boring it could be.

Her eyes snapped to Caerus as he spoke again, words trailing off before he finished the sentence. Her face softened a bit and she nodded her head gently at him, she understood what he meant, he need not say it. And then he was gone.

Jaya let out a soft sigh and rose to slim paws, her head lifting to stare longingly at the birds fluttering about in the tree. How she wished she could a bird, free to fly wherever her heart desired. Shaking her head, the nimble female trotted away, back towards camp, her head held high, facial features kept in their normal, passive content expression. None would notice any difference in her. Of that she was sure.

When she arrived on seen, she spied Gara first, her younger sister, sparring with none other than Isolde, her best friend's daughter. A smile, a genuine smile, spread over her features as she trotted over to the two, tail swaying behind her.

"Gara," she chimed loud enough for her to hear. Her long legs carried her over to the two quickly, and she bumped into her sister, despite the fact that they were clearly in the middle of something. Gara needed to live a little. Yes, she was so proud of the success her sister had gained in the pack, but there was more to life than just rank and training.

Her eyes glimmered as they stopped on Isolde, the offspring of one of her favorite wolves. "How are you this morning, Iso? My sister isn't giving you too much of a hard time, right? She lacks manners at times," she teased her sister, eyes switching to Gara with a humorous glint within their bright depths. It was obvious the female was jesting.

Nihilo - Loner - Mentions: Caerus, Jaya (both indirectly)

In the early light of the morning while the dew was still fresh on the grass, a dark wolf emerged out from under a large tree root. Nihilo had taken shelter here the night before. He never stayed in one place for too long for fear of being found by other packs. This new place was right on the border of a new pack's territory. At least they were new to him. He hadn't ventured this far north before. Nihilo had always been eager to explore and today was the day.

He shook the dirt from his thin pelt and let out a long yawn while stretching his legs. His yellow eyes glanced around looking for signs of life that had been there or were there. He began wondering a ways from the tree sniffing the ground. A slight passing scent of elk and rabbit alerted his senses. He was starving for a good meal right about now. Maybe I could find an elk carcass.

Lifting his head high, he confidently made his way through the forest. The early morning breeze whispered in the trees as though they were speaking to him. It was comforting to Nihilo. Almost a year of wondering had brought him no real peace or rest. He longed for a pack to be a part of or even a mate to bond with. However, all of this seemed like just a lost dream to him now.

Suddenly, Nihilo's sense sprung up and his ears moved rapidly at the sound of a branch snapping. Food, an opponent, or perhaps the pack that owns this territory I'm trespassing on. By now Nihilo had ventured far into a new pack's territory and these where only the few thoughts the rushed through his mind as he quickly crouched low to the forest floor and waited. He wasn't in any clearing, but on a deer path. Should I take cover? His pulse was racing and his breathing increased.

He waited until he heard the sound of leaves rustling and more branches snapping beneath the weight of an unknown creature. Nihilo sniffed the air. He came to the conclusion that that creature was another wolf and judging by the sounds there were two of them. He carefully and slowly lifted his head. He couldn't see anything but suddenly two voices broke the sacred silence of the forest. Nihilo hoped his dark pelt would somehow miraculously blend into the shadows of the forest, but he couldn't stand being still for any longer. One wolf left leaving just one behind, but both soon went there separate paths. This was the only information Nihilo could gain just from the sounds of their paw steps (or whatever you call it lol). Should I run now? He couldn't make up his mind so he waited, again.

Enigma - Pack Member - Mentions: Whoever is awake, the pack.

A wave of concern clouded Enigma's mind as she rolled over to her other side in attempt to continue sleeping. Everything was a fog to her. The past events of the pack had been all a blur. She was ready to except the change in command within the pack regarding the alphas, but she was still very hesitant. Glimmers of sunlight streamed into the pack's den. Enigma open her hazy grey eyes. She could see particles of dust dancing in the sunlight. She let out a sign and rolled onto her stomach. She carefully lifted her head as if the mere movement of her muscles would awaken all who lay sleeping around her. Enigma despised and strongly hated sharing this kind of space with her fellow pack members. She longed for a sense of privacy in her life. Or at the very least, while she slept.

Glancing around, Enigma noticed that some wolves had already left the den and where awake. This knowledge made all her previous considerations of being quiet vanish and she arose rather abruptly to exit the den. However, she made her way to the entrance carefully without even brushing anyone's fur. Once out of the den the sunlight blinded her almost and the almost autumn breeze blew through her white pelt. A small shiver creeped down Enigma's spine. Not because of a brief chill, but because of the sight of her pack. She hated her position in the pack. She hated how she was looked down on sometimes. This had also prompted her to remain above her fellow pack members who weren't in a high rank. She felt the need to prove herself to her superiors, but the majority of the time she was unsuccessful.

Enigma kept her head lower as she made her way over to where some of the others had gathered. As per usual, she stayed at the edge of the little circle hoping not to be noticed. She hoped that today's events would be more exciting than the past few days. However, very little excited Enigma's sarcastic and pessimistic mindset. She left it up to the alphas to impress her with their "leadership", if that was what she could call it. Only time will tell.

Caerus
Alpha | Masculine | Mentions: Ferno, Pasithea
Indirectly Mentions: Isolde, Jaya

Thump, thump, thump.

Caerus felt his heart hammer in his chest, quickening, and quickening, and quickening yet. It continued it’s fast beat, until at last, Jaya was nowhere in sight. Only then did it slow.

He cursed his heart. He cursed it for infinity, and then some.

Head lowered, the male stalked, pushing past the grasses, shoving them aside as an angered emotion overtook him. He wasn’t mad at anybody other than himself. Caerus, it seemed, wanted to hurt. He deserved it for his foolishness.

He still remained living in the past. He was still pondering over lost promises and what could have been. How could the past remain in the past if he wouldn’t allow it to remain there?

“You loved it, even said it made you feel pretty.”

Caerus only shook his head at the thought. Didn’t she see? It wasn’t the flowers that made him feel happy. It wasn’t the flowers he loved. The flowers weren't the reason he would sit still for hours as she decorated his coat, it was simply so he could spend more time with her, for even sitting in silence was better than not being near her at all. “Foolish,” he mumbled to himself, “you’re a foolish creature, Caerus.” Speaking to himself as if to snap some sense in his mind, he knew that it wouldn’t help.

"Maybe next spring I can show Isolde where the flowers lie.."

Her words always ran around his mind. Day and night, night and day. "I'd like that. Isolde admires you, you know," he would respond, not uttering a further word, but agreeing to the offer. Next spring, his daughter would see the flowers that used to intertwine with his fur, because Jaya was right. She would love them. Perhaps Jaya would decorate his daughters fur like she once did his. She was rather talented at that.

Caerus's steps slowed as he thought back, his head turning back to where he had met Jaya moments ago, only to find the area empty. Caerus had lied. He said that he never looked back, when in reality, he always did, she just never saw.

And that tree.. He ran his eyes up and down it's bark, taking in the figure of it. He had long ago committed it to memorization, and just like he cursed his heart, he cursed that tree. It was there where he began to learn of his feelings as a pup. It was there where he would spill his feelings out in the open to her. It was there when he told her that he'd been promoted. It was there that he told her that he would become hers if she said the word, that he would drop everything and be by her side.

She declined.

Stupid tree.

He needed some time alone, but he felt the day grow brighter, and Caerus knew then that he had to face the others and get the day started. He stood for a moment, simply breathing. The male listened to the silence, composing himself before lifting his head and moving forwards, steps no longer sluggish and gloomy. Now, they were confident and powerful as he entered camp, any sadness in his eyes being clouded over by an unreadable emotions.

It was the trainee's den he arrived at first, hoping to see Isolde before remembering that she had gone off in the morning to train with Gara. He was glad that she was showing some interest in fighting. It would be good for her, and good for him knowing his daughter could defend herself.

Next, it was his den that he'd begin to head towards.

He had expected everybody to simply be waking now, but it seemed as if Caerus had underestimate how long he'd been gone, for when he arrived, both beta's were near, and the pack had begun to converse. "Ferno, Rogue," he greeted, approaching them and nodding their way. He could always rely on them to be prepared. "Busy day today," he updated them, "I'm expecting Gara to create both a patrol and hunting party today. Any wolves she doesn't choose will remain in camp tending to duties around here." Food was a must, especially in the months leading up to winter. The more they ate, the plumper the pack would become, and the better they'd be prepared for the colder days.

"I'll let everybody know as more begin to awaken. I'd like to double check with Pasithea before announcing anything. I would appreciate if you two made sure nobody leaves the vicinity until plans for the day are given out." Without another word, he entered the den, searching for his mate.

She wasn't there, he should have known.

Reappearing out of the den, he nodded to Rogue and Ferno once more. "I assume she went out," he mumbled to both himself and them before leaving, attempting to search for her. He hadn't made it a few steps before he saw her arriving. From the sights of it, she had gone on a patrol. Pasithea was known to do things like that.

"Good morning," he spoke in monotone, no emotion filtering through his face, no affection, no kindness. It was simply formal and respectful, like it always was. "I wanted to check in with you and see if you had any plans for the day. I know Gara is planning on creating a hunt as well as a patrol. Is there anything else you wished for the others to do?" His tone always grew softer around Pasithea, as if he were ashamed of himself, which, he was.

Clearing his throat, he attempted to make small talk. "Anything interesting out there?" He asked before glancing back at the camp, as if hoping for a distraction. He respected Pasithea, he truly did, he just didn't know how to get close to her. With Jaya it was easy, for they grew up together. With Pasithea, it was foreign ground, despite them being mates for quite a while now. The only thing he somewhat spoke to her about was their daughter, Isolde, and even then his words were brief and short.

He wished that he could offer her more, but he didn't know how nor if he could.

Gara
Head Guard | Femme | Mentions: Isolde, Polaris, Jaya

"Use your shoulders. They're harder than you think. Don't be afraid to use your claws," Gara rasped, panting as she dodged Isolde's moves. "What are a wolf's weakest spots?" Quizzing the trainee, Isolde snapped her teeth to the left of Gara, then beneath, attempting to make contact with the High Guard. "Eyes," Isolde gasped, growing tired, "face, neck, and underbelly," she finished, managing to nip Gara on the shoulder. It was a hard nip, but the larger female didn't even wince.

"High pain tolerance," she responded, as if reading Isolde's mind. "What areas do you want to avoid?" She continued, throwing in questions as they sparred, Isolde now diving beneath the larger female and standing up, causing Gara to stumble and fall on her side. "The back area because it's easy for another to whip around and take you down." Gara grunted as Isolde was now atop of her.

Positioning her two left legs on Isolde's right side, Gara used her body and her free remaining legs to flip Isolde onto her side, pinning her down as she herself remained on the ground. "Try to get out of this," she said, holding Isolde down with her legs. The trainee only stared at Gara, unsure of what to do. "Remember that move I taught you where-" The High Guard couldn't even finish her sentence, for within the next second, Isolde rammed her head against her mentor's, causing Gara to let go in shock.

Hopping up onto her paws, she stared down at Isolde with frustration as her head begun to ring. A glimpse of anger showed before Gara paused, breaking out into a smile as what had occurred sunk in. "Yes! Wonderful! I didn't expect that. You caught me completely off guard! Those are the type of moves that would save your life, and I didn't even teach you that!" Gara was happy, thrilled even. For a moment, she genuinely thought that the alpha's daughter was a lost cause!

"You think so?" Isolde asked, smiling crookedly. "I didn't think it would work." Tail thrashing behind her, she sat down, clearly proud of herself. "Shall we go again?" She asked, glancing at the trainee before her ears perked, eyes narrowing as something felt.. off. They were being watched. Gara had a second sense about these things, and more often than not, she was right. The female grew taller and silent, staring into the forest until..

Polaris?

In the distance, she saw another of the young trainees staring back at her. Brows furrowing, Gara was about to call out, perhaps see if he'd like to join, until she paused. Ah, she understood. He was there to surprise Isolde. "What is it?" The female suddenly asked, breaking the silence. Gara turned to her, forgetting how suspicious she looked. "I was watching a blue jay in the trees. Such pretty things, aren't they?" Offering Isolde a smile, the younger creature only tilted her head in confusion. "I much prefer robins," she shrugged, which had earned a small chuckle from Gara.

"Robins are pretty things, I must agree with that." Turning to the sky, the dame released another grunt. "The sun is rising. You best be on your way now. Shall we plan to meet tonight as well?" She asked. The smaller female shook her head. "If it's alright, could we regroup tomorrow morning? I'd like to spend some time with Polaris and perhaps my parents." And perhaps Jaya, if she had nothing planned. The only reason Isolde wished to train was so that she could become better than Polaris and his brother. Tynan was a male that she wasn't truly close with, and yet, she always turned things into a competition with him. She needed to get better at fighting so she could beat him.

Gara simply nodded in agreement before turning, dismissing Isolde until another figure called her name. Whipping around, the High Guard was alert, though calmed when it was nobody other than her sister, who had nudged her in the process of arriving. "Jaya," she spoke back, her tone soft yet loud if such a thing were possible. There was once a time where Gara despised her older sister. In fact, she loathed her. But that was many moons ago, back when Gara was a dense creature full of envy and blindness. Since then, she had apologized, and as a result, the two sisters had grown close once again.

"Where are you coming from this early? Did you just wake up?" She asked, curious, as if knowing where she had come from. "You weren't with him, were you?" She wanted to ask. Why Jaya continued meeting with Caerus was beyond her. Caerus was too devoted to Pasithea to do anything, and Jaya was too kind to betray another. It was a lost cause, and yet, Gara's heart went out to her sister. How she could carry on with her day was beyind her. Tutting, she nudged Jaya with her hips gently before turning to Isolde as she was being addressed. The younger female always held a glimmer in her eyes whenever she spoke to Jaya, clear inspiration in them.

Isolde used to resent Jaya when she was a pup. She disliked how her father watched her, both longing and sadness in his eyes. Meanwhile, while Jaya had his kind side, Pasithea, her mother, earned his distant and reserved side. It was unfair to Isolde, but Jaya was a female that was a difficult individual to hate. Isolde grew to like her, which somehow felt like a betrayal to her mother. She didn't want to like her, and she truly tried not to. She would snap at the female and shun her out. She would run from her, even claim that she hurt her, but as time passed, Jaya managed to gain Isolde's kindness and love. Now, the female radiated warmth and kindness, and had become a role model for her.

"I'm alright, Jaya, how are you?" She responded, practically shining when her nickname was spoken. Her father often called her that. Towards her, he was a mellow figure that always had stories to tell. She remembered as a pup, when nobody was near, he would play silly little games with her to entertain her. It was almost like their little secret. He was a gentle giant, at least towards her.

When asked if Gara was giving her a hard time, Isolde stood, beginning to ramble. "She had me pinned in this brutal position, and guess what? I managed to actually catch her off guard! You know what I did? Gara, tell her what I did," she asked, turning to the other female, who looked equally proud yet unimpressed. Gara knew that it would mean more if she said it, and knew that Isolde wanted her to admit what had happened. "She head-butted me," she sighed in monotone. "I let a trainee catch me off guard, Jaya. A trainee." She released a huff when she was claimed to have no manners, turning to her sister and grinning. "I learned from the best." It was a weak retaliation, but Gara needed to have the last word. She must.

"Jaya, can you take me to the lake later?" Isolde suddenly asked, glancing at her. "I saw this white rock last time, and I'd like to see if I could find it again." She was a collector of pretty things, and often tried storing certain objects. As of now, Isolde held a perfectly smooth acorn in her den, followed by a robin feather and a single deer antler. The antler was her best find. If she found the white rock, the antler would become her second best.

Gara soon interrupted her thoughts. “We need to start heading back before your parents begin to worry, Isolde. Jaya, walk with us?” The female took a step forwards, headed towards the direction of where Polaris hid. “I should already be in camp. I have ideas for those that I’d like to go on a patrol, and those that shall go on a hunt. Jaya, which do you prefer?” Even if it were unfair, Gara always offered Jaya an option. Her sister had supported her for years. She offered her love when their parents didn’t. Gara owed her. She owed her for a lifetime. Besides, either way, everybody would be working in some way or form.

"Can I go?" Isolde asked, before receiving a hard look from Gara, followed by a blunt, "no." The trainee opened her mouth once more, but Gara turned away, dismissing her. Releasing a huff, she began to follow alongside of Jaya, not noticing the amount of noise Gara was making with each step, signaling Polaris that they were getting near.

Polaris | Male | Trainee | Camp | Mentions: Gara, Isolde

For most of the time, Polaris watched Isolde training and learned a few tips, because he was listening. He tried to answer Gara's question in his head, but he had forgotten that the underbelly was particularly tender. It seemed like a hard place to get to. Unless Tynan was asleep, he normally didn't consider the reaction he could get out of touching it. Occassionally, his mind would wander. One thought that crossed through his mind was he wanted to see if he could dye his fur with some red clay he saw. He thought it might be neat to have a different appearance. When he managed to focus again, he was confused to see Isolde surprising Gara. For a moment he thought that the High Guard had let Isolde win to show her it was possible, even though it went against what Gara would do. Next, he smelled anger, and he tensed. Even if he raced over there and tried to help Isolde defend against Gara, he'd be too late. He knew that the high ranking wolf was too well trained, and he had no idea how many other wolves it'd take to take her down. His best bet would be to tell the alphas, but who would believe him? It would seem, (and be true), that he had snuck out of camp. The tension melted from his body when Gara began to congratulate her.

The moment of truth.

When he felt Gara's gaze, he became completely immobile. What would she do? He stared unblinking at her, willing her to understand. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he liked to think that he saw an aha moment. She knew he was here, and she wasn't dragging him out by the ear. He permitted himself one tail wag. With more than a little difficulty, he tried to stifle a giggle, and ended up stuffing his muzzle in the dirt. Blue Jays! That was the first thing Gara thought of? It was very unGara-ish. Surely such a clumsy cover wouldn't fool Isolde. He would definitely owe Gara, because he knew that now that one of them was aware of him, he was having a harder and harder time being sneaky.

His ears perked up, as he realized that he had let Jaya sneak up on him. His muzzle was now stained with earth, and he lifted it, so that he could peer through the undergrowth better. Grown up drama! He wanted to hear more. Socially, he was very far from the source, and it was none of his business, but it caught his romantic fancies to think about what he had heard from various gossips. Would it ever be possible for his life to be that dramatic? It sounded like a lot of exciting fun. He remembered when Isolde didn't like Jaya. Back then he had been too young to understand the politics, so he was only disappointed that his friend would snap at someone so nice. He hadn't displayed his displeasure verbally preferring to give Isolde a glance that was worth many words.

He smiled indulgently as his friend shared her exciting experience. Would she want to tell him when she got back to camp or would telling Jaya suffice? For a moment his thoughts clouded. He wanted to be a really good hunter and fighter. He was a pack wolf. How could he want otherwise? However, he didn't have that drive that Isolde and Tynan have. He couldn't make himself focus, and it made him not want to try. He didn't have it in him to be fierce or hurt others. Often, he could pick something up quicker naturally with instincts on the first few tries. Once Tynan and Isolde practiced, they were excellent, and he was simply good. He was delighted that Isolde's extra work was paying off, as Gara outlined what had happened. It would be fun to see his littermate with his nose in the dirt once his friend was done with him.

He cocked his head thinking about the white rock. It sounded pretty important, if she was willing to make a pointless expedition to the beach. Perhaps he could go get it for Isolde. He was known for crawling around doing things like that, and Jaya might be willing to help him fetch it before Isolde could go down there. Should he give up his chance to surprise Isolde now?

When Gara made it clear that there would be no expedition to the beach, he began to prepare his mind for surprise mode. If she wasn't going there right now, he would have time to beat her down there later. He was quite adept at finding reasons to slow Isolde down, even though most of his worse stalling tactics involved his brother. What was his preferred method? A fierce growl, a loud bark, a reverberating howl. Which was more intimidating?

Polaris wondered if Gara would train the trainees or if they would be assigned to someone this day. He was excited for whatever training there was. He was mildly curious why Gara would say no to Isolde, but he pushed it away and concentrated on his nefarious plan that he had cooked up on his early morning sleepy brain. From her posture, his friend was not happy about the High Guard's answer, which would make for a greater surprise. Once Isolde drew level to Polaris' face, he let out a rushed howl, that turned into a growling bark and pounced. He made sure to aim at knocking her over. If she weren't too displeased with his ambush, she often went along with whatever Polaris did, so it was easy to win the wrestling. When he was on top, he pinned her down panting in her face happily.

"Ha! My skills have improved. You didn't sense me!"

He wasn't sure if that was true or not, but he didn't let that stop him. "You knocked Gara over by surprise, and she's the best, and I did it to you, so what does that make me?" he grinned at her. "Say it. Come on," he wagged his tail harder, "Say it! Or you won't be getting up anytime soon." For a moment his gaze flicked to Jaya and mainly Gara to read their facial expressions. A moment would be all a well trained trainee like Isolde needed, even though she was younger than Polaris.

Ghostbur
A shy male pack mate | no mentions, but kinda everyone in camp.
...
His headache was getting worse.
A yawn came from Ghostbur, and he shook his head to dislodge a fly who had mistaken his ear for a blade of grass.
He narrowed his eyes against the pounding paw steps of pressure in his skull, and a dull whine left his throat.
..
Ghostbur leaned upward to scratch an itch, the fly returning.
his fur puffed out against the sharp wind that suddenly blew through camp, though it suddenly died down.
He frowned. It was so quiet, he loved it. He lashed his tail.
.
the dirt rubbed against his paw pads, and he sneezed as some spare misted dirt caught his nose and eyes. His ears twitched, as did his fur.
his claws raked the ground, sighing once more. Boredom itched him. He should do something productive.
"I'm going out.. hunting" Ghostbur barked, getting up, ignoring the others around him. There, he told someone he was leaving. It was a dumb rule to enforce.
annoyance hit his pelt as he padded out of camp with a low head. The alphas should admonish it.
Ghostbur stalked out, lifting his head, catching the scents upon a weak wind.

Tynan

Trainee || Male || 10 months || M: Rouge, Isolde, Polaris, Gara

I can fix minor grammar when I’m off mobile later.

The trainee stirred in his sleep, soft golden light washed over the gray wolf and he stretched in the sun. It was dawn and he had overslept, worry jerked him out of his trance. The extra rest had been nice, the trainee had been doing his best to get up at dawn most mornings to see if he could train or be of any use in the camp. He wanted to get ahead and with Isolde seeming to get better everyday Tynan wanted to stay on top of things. After all, he was two months older, and had been training for longer. Though only a month ago he got his priorities in order and started to set goals for himsel to make sure he could do that.

The young male shook out his thick coat, he felt almost wet, from the morning's dew and little droplets of water flung off of his pelt. He had been so still in his sleep that the dew was able to take hold on his fur. The trainee was a bit grumpy this morning, and narrowed his eyes to look around the area where the other trainees had slept. There was no sign of them and he let out a huff of annoyance, he didn’t want to look bad for waking up late if the two were out training or doing something useful. He sniffed at the spot where his brother had lay and picked up his scent, his was fresher than Isolde’s, maybe he had followed her out?

Tracking the two other trainee’s, Tynan found that their scent grew stronger and then mixed in with the High Guards as well. He was able to pad quietly towards the small group and found Polaris pining Isolde. “Comfey, Isolde?” Tynan joked, a rare thing considering how serious he wanted to come across. “Well done Polaris,” he added, walking up to his brother's side and looking down at the trainee beneath him. “Excuse me for interrupting this, I couldn’t resist seeing where you two had gone off too,” with a shrug he turned to leave, “I'll leave you too that now, Gara,” he spoke, acknowledging the high guard before he quickly turned.

Yes his visit had been short, but he also wanted to find one of the Beta’s and see if he would be paired to train with anyone today. That and he didn’t want to further interrupt Gara’s morning with the two other trainees, just in case they were doing something important. He made his way back to the center of the camp and moved to pick up one of the beta’s scents, he found Rouge’s first and went to pad after her. He found the beta with Ferno, Perfect I’m the one that gets to interrupt their morning with my pesky trainee questions. He thought, before finally approaching, he wouldn’t get anything done just standing there.

“Ferno...er..Rouge,” He stammered, shaking his head Tynan spat out his words. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I was wondering if I would be training with anyone today?” The anticipation was growing in his chest the longer he was awake and moving about, he just hoped he could get paired with an experienced fighter. He needed to step up his game if he would be able to keep up with Isolde.

Ferno | Beta | Camp | Mentions: Rogue, Gael, Enigma, Caerus,

The male's ears turned when he heard the sound of someone's pawsteps behind him. They were gradually growing louder, signalling that the wolf was probably approaching him specifically. And Ferno had been observant enough to wager an informed guess that the wolf trotting over was Rogue, the beta female. He had only known because he was the type to remember whose pawsteps were whose, based on a couple things like rhythm and heaviness. Plus, her scent was already growing stronger.

As he offered him a friendly expression, Ferno did not return it. Instead, he gave a simple nod of the head. He wasn't the type of show open emotions like that, much less a very friendly one. No, Ferno was more serious than that. And no one probably expected him to go running into someone's paws to give them a greeting, anyway.

Good morning Ferno! Did you sleep well?

He offered a simple gruff reply, "Good enough. How about you?". While his question to her may have seemed like he was genuinely interested, he was more interested in simply returning the favor, rather than the answer itself. As his eyes turned to her, he was able to see that her tail was wagging and her tongue was lolling out of her tongue. What was she so happy about? Morning had just begun, and it seemed like nothing exciting had occured quite yet.

What patrols do you think Gara will assign?

"Hmm. I don't know. But I sure hope that I am on a hunt today." He added, his tone rather indifferent. Though, what she said next had surprised him a little when she asked him to wake her up next time. Ferno considered waking others up quite personal, which made his eyebrows raise and his tail stop swaying in midair. His gaze locked on Rogue for a moment, as if asking her silently if she was certain. "Er, I suppose I can."

His ears perked up again as his attention was now swept over to Gael who had asked everyone(it seemed) about how they were doing. Ferno merely offered a nod in response, which could have been taken in a multitude of ways. But he added, "I hope I get a hunt, too."

A flash of a white pelt caught the edge of his vision, causing him to glance over to see that Enigma had joined the group, sitting on the outer ring. Now, Ferno usually had to force himself to be kind to everyone, or at least remind himself to try and be at least a little more welcoming than he'd prefer. But Enigma gave him some weird aura. Something he couldn't quite explain sometimes. Thus, he really made no effort to greet or speak with the female, unless it was absolutely necessary.

Before the male could do or think of anything else, the sound of Caerus's voice sounded, causing the beta to dip his head respectfully in greeting. "Alpha Caerus." He paused, listening to the update before confirming it with another nod. "Sounds good." He let his tail give a couple of slow wags as he began to think about which patrols would be sent out. Though, he also had to keep an eye on everyone until patrols were assigned, per Caerus's orders.

Spiderbite - Male - Member - Camp/Eastern Stream - Mentions: Whimsical, Eastern Stream
Spider slowly opened his eyes. The camp was waking up slowly and all was somewhat quiet. He gazed around and saw that wolves were getting up and starting their day, so he stood and stretched his legs. He then looked around for his mother, who was standing by another den. He padded out, heading towards her. She gave him a friendly nod and motioned him to come forward.
"Good morning, Spider. Any plans for today?" Whimsical said, tilting her head.
"No, I don't. Why? Do you need something from me?" He looked at her expectantly. She looked around the camp and saw a large feather on the ground.
"Can you fit bringing me a feather from a freshly caught bird today?" She had a glisten in her eyes that only meant this was a test. He dropped his head and headed off, saying good bye to her. He headed for that camp exit and headed east. The stream would be the best place to look if a bird was thirsty or eating the berries that might grow there. He sniffed the air, hoping that perhaps a bird was nearby. He heard a squawk behind him and turned to see a crow flying up. He pounced, but it dodged. It was now in the sky and heading towards the trees. He got up and shook his head. He let out a puff of breath, sending a cloud of condensation into the air, and ran after the crow. It headed for the trees and took to the perches of a tree, out of Spider's reach.
"Darn bird." He growled under his breath, gaining the crow's attention. He walked towards the tree the crow was in and crouched at the base as he stared upwards at the crow. The crow looked at him, squawked something and then flew away, heading towards a cliff where a flock was gathering.
"Hmm. How strange." Spider thought. He continued walking along the stream. Another squawk behind him. He turned to see another crow, perched on a tree branch. The crow also looked at him and nodded. He turned his head upwards and growled at another crow. This crow took flight and headed upwards. He waited a while, staring up at the cliff, and then wiped the dirt off his paws, and continued around the cliff.
"They're teasing me, aren't they?" He rumbled, shaking his head. It was still early in the morning, birds were playing hard to catch. The air was cold and he could barley catch a scent of anything. He heard a rustling from the bushes and saw a rabbit emerge. He looked it over and sniffed it. It was not tempting enough for him, so he shook his head and padded away. He heard a chirp from behind him. He turned around and saw a cardinal on a rock, near a bush, pulling at some berries.
"There we go," He thought as he pounced.

Jaya
Pack Member | Female | Mentions: Gara, Isolde

The female, having lowered onto her haunches, shot Gara a look that the female would know all to well. Something along the lines of: 'don't ask questions you already know the answer to'. She knew that Gara knew of her early morning jaunts. But still, she humored her an answer since Isolde was there with them.

"I was on my morning walk, I prefer to start my days with peaceful walks on my own," she stated, her ears flicking gently as she considered her words. It wasn't exactly a lie. Part of it was born in truth. Jaya did always go for morning walks, it was only at the end of her walk that she would end up at that all too familiar tree and spend a few fleeting moments with her best friend.

Her eyes transitioned her full focus from Gara to Isolde and she smiled softly, nodding gently to the female. "I am doing well," her smile didn't fully reach her eyes, but it was a genuine smile nonetheless. Before she could let her mind wander to any sadness lingering within her, though, her ears flicked at the sound of Isolde's request and the female's smile widened. "I would happily accompany you to the lake," she nodded gently, rising when Gara began to speak again.

She followed along her younger sister and took in what she had to say before commenting her own opinion. "You know I would prefer to go on a patrol if any of them. I'm not a terribly skilled wolf, but I'm a better patroller than I am a hunter," with her long legs and willowy form, Jaya was a lean and tall wolf built for speed. Patrols were something she was good at, she just didn't have the mindset a lot of the wolves on them had. Too gentle she was.

Her tail flicked gently as she walked, easily keeping up with the other wolf. Her ears flicked gently. glancing her eyes at her sister's paws as she began to notice the increase in noise Gara was creating. Her eyes cast about and she carefully winded slightly away from Isolde and Gara, knowing all to well how clever Gara could be.

It didn't take long for her to see why she being so loud when Polaris seemed to all but tackle Isolde to the ground. Soft laughter bubbled from her jaws as she walked up to stand beside Gara again and muttered quietly to her. "You should let her come, I think it would be good for her," she knew it wasn't her place to make that decision, but she didn't think her input would hurt either.
