Sable | F | Kit Fox | Desert Skulk | M: Noah, Blaze, Open As Blaze approached, Sable tensed and hastily applied cactus juice to her wounds before the rain could wash it away. She stepped back, offering Blaze a terse explanation of what they were doing, "It just started raining; we needed a salve for the wounds I got from cactus spines, and Noah got one in his snout" Despite her reluctance to interact with her, she felt relieved that Blaze had arrived, as she was becoming too attached to Noah. After thanking Noah for his assistance, Sable picked up a fruit from the ground and made her way back to camp. Her leg was still sore, but it felt significantly better than before. Back at camp she burrowed into a den and silently ate her fruit, wondering how she managed to let this day happen. She decided tomorrow she would wake up a bit early to hunt to make up for the lack of food today. As Sable pondered on her life here in the skulk she listened to the rain, it was rare to happen here in this hot of a climate but it soothed her to sleep.

Saraid/Female Arctic Fox/Ice Skulk/M: Nodorak She had just been staring at the horizon when she caught the scent of Nodorak and quickly turned away where she started making her way to the other fox carrting the vole and berries that she was lucky to find. "Looks like you did better than me", she commented after putting her vole and berries down when she saw the fish, "All I found was a vole and some berries. Hopefully the summer will cool down". Her black coat bristled a little before going flat again. She wasn't sure how to feel about the other foxes including all the leaders but she had no intention on telling anyone.

Mycena - A forest without Sound | OPEN POST Space around a certain fox seemed to freeze in its tracks. Not a single prey or predator sound echoed through the lines of trees, not a single leaf rustle in ear-shot. Not a single scent or sight. In the center of this mute clearing, stood a small red and white fox, bright yellow eyes fixated on a certain spot within the ground between a rotting tree log and the grass. The only noise that could be heard, was the scrapping of the claws against the dirt, the shuffling of teeth ripping something from is spot within the soil. The fox lifted its head up, tail flicking back and forth warily. It hated being out in the woods alone, however, that was his job as a Trader. A voice called in the distance, an unknown one at that, and it made the fox freeze. Through his head, over and over again, the male spoke to himself.
It's okay Mycena. No one is here. We're safe, we're fine. No one can hurt us right now. If we finish what we're doing, we can get home in time to get dinner. The fox nodded to himself, picking up his large mushroom with his teeth before moving onto the next spot, contiuing his work, digging, grabbing and moving on. Before long, the predator had a decent stash of mushrooms, berries, herbs and more. He frowned to himelf though. Now I have to make more trips. What a drag this whole thing is. I wish I could just go and sleep for eternity.

Candy || M || Grey Fox || Forest Skulk || M: Nori(indirectly), Nightshade ~
Candy wasn't entirely sure if he felt excited or embarrassed, it was lucky he'd run into the fox they were looking for and he was excited to meet the new fox but he was also extremely embarrassed talking to the fox he was looking for without even knowing it was her. He laughed anxiously as his eyes trailed to his broken tail before looking back down at the fox as he said "Oh, well that's great that I found you, I was honestly a bit worried we'd have to leave the territory to find someone to help, I'm on thin enough ice with my skulk as it is, I really don't need to anger them by leaving the territory again even if it is for a good reason..." Candy was full on rambling as his embarrassment combined with his anxiety and made him unable to stop his word vomit. His broken tail twitched as he rambled, the strike of pain helping him to calm down a little and center this thoughts as he took a deep breath and said "Sorry let me start over, I'm Candy, I'm from the forest skulk and my mate and I were looking for you because we were hoping you could help me fix my broken tail, or that you might at least have some herbs that can help. Oh also my mate believes she may be with kits so I'd really appreciate it if you also checked her health, I mean when she gets back with your payment anyway. I really don't expect you to do anything for me without payment.... Actually I guess I shouldn't expect you to do anything even with payment, I guess I mean I hope that when she gets back with payment that you'll be able to help us. No hard feeling if you can't, I'm sure my tail will heal OK eventually.... Hopefully." And as soon as he'd tried to straighten his thoughts out he began rambling again, his eyes trailing from nightshade to the brush beyond, looking for any sign of movement, hoping to see his mate come back soon. The longer she took the more anxious he was getting.

Nightshade/expecting female red fox/farmer x trader/M: Candy, Nori (indirectly) Nightshade jumped down from the log trying to be careful to land on her paws. She walked around Candy and bent down to look at his tail but made sure to never touch it because she was sure it would cause the other fox pain. She didn't ask what caused it in the first place. "Candy from the forest skulk and Nori's mate? I'd be willing to look the two of you over though if you expect your tail to heal normally then you are out of luck", said Nightshade moving around to look at the tail. She always made sure to never touch it as she inspected it though she was surprised the two foxes made the journey alone. "I have a den with some herbs though I'm surprised that you and Nori arrived safely. Word is that some skulk foxes are now missing" muttered Nightshade before looking at Candy, "You can stop being nervous as I don't bite and I might be able to help you and Nori".

Nori-F-melinistic grey-Expecting forest mother-M: Candy, Nightshade Nori trots into the clearing. She puts down the prey and keeps looking down. "Sorry I ran a little late. Stubborn sparrow." I walk over to Candy and sit down. "Can she fix your tail?" Noah-Male-Swift-desert lead Noah dunps his nose in cactus juice. Ouch. That way embaressing. "I'm heading back to camp." He says to no one in oarticualr.

Candy || M || Grey Fox || Forest Skulk || M: Nori, Nightshade ~ Candy couldn't help feeling a bit sad about the news his tail wouldn't heal the same, he had expected as much but the confirmation still hurt. He was happy nightshade was willing to help them though, he would be happy as long as he didn't completely lose his tail. ~ When Nori showed up candy was flooded with relief, he'd been so worried about her tat when she finally showed back up he couldn't help nuzzling her sweetly and giving her a few sweet licks on the face as he said "It's ok dear, I'm sure I would have taken far longer if I'd been the one to hunt. I'm just glad you're safe... Also yes it seems nightshade here has been kind enough to offer to help heal my tail and check over you too make sure you're healthy. I do hope you aren't too upset with me for telling her, I just want to make sure you and the kits are as healthy as you can be and she seems perfectly trust worthy to me. Though I think from now on we should stay close to each other, nightshade said there have been foxes disappearing so it's safer if we stick with each other and stay close to the skulk, at least until you have the kits or until someone figures out what's causing foxes to go missing." ~ It took a second for candy to realize he was not only rambling again but also speaking about nightshade as if she wasn't even there, he smiled sheepishly at the trader and softly said "thank you for offering your help, this is my mate Nori, she said you two had met earlier today. I appreciate you being so kind to us, please lead the way so that we can get all this over with and go home where it's safe." He made sure to stay close to Nori, trying to be on guard for any possible threats as he followed after nightshade.

Nodorak || Ice Skulk || Arctic Fox || M: Saraid Rak's ears pricked at the soft pattering of approaching footsteps, and he released a greeting yip as Saraid approached and set down her findings. He dipped his head and replied, "Yes. Everything seems to be hiding; even the fish were all sticking to the bottom of the pond. The water wasn't exactly what I'd call 'chilly.'" The male grimaced. A hot, dry summer would make for an interesting winter. Either the pendulum would swing so hard the other way that they would be fighting blizzards for months, or the heat would stay and there wouldn't be any snow to blend in with at all. He was hopeful that it would end up being somewhere in the middle of the two, and perhaps the winter prey would be more plentiful. "At least there's still food coming in; a vole is always a nice catch. Especially with how fast they are," Nodorak mused. "I'm sure I only caught the fish because the water level was low enough for it to have trouble navigating."

Saraid/Female Arctic Fox/Ice Skulk/M: Nodorak She sighed as she poked the vole that she caught and really hoped that winter would come back because with this heat it was very hard. She guessed that the prey were now starting to get desperate as well. "I think you are just better at catching fish and that fish knew it", joked Saraid before looking at the food for a bit, "In any case I hope Winter comes back just without the blizzard. I'm going mad from the heat". She got up and narrowed her eyes in thought for a bit before twitching one of her ears, "I patrolled the border for a while. Is there anything you would like me to do?". Nightshade/expecting female red fox/trader x farmer/M: Nori, Candy The vixen sighed but started to lead the way to her current den in the forest. She wasn't sure if they were following and while she didn't know how much she could help Candy but she was willing to try and Nori had been nice the first time they met. Her burrow that she had dug was waiting for her but she stopped outside the entrance. The burrow was large enough for more than one fox but looked pretty deep. It was safe and warm. "You might want to get out of the rain", she said before going into the burrow. Edited at July 2, 2024 12:50 AM by Feiella

Nori-F-melinistic grey-Expecting forest mother-M: Candy, Nightshade Nori follows Nightshade. "Look, I could not understand Candy back there, but I do not need to be checked over." Making sure to bring the prey, Nori sets it outside the den. Sniffing the den, she debates weather to go in. "Our leader might get mad if she smell a fox that is not in our sculk. A den might make the smell more noticeable."
