The Winds
Rather than sex, pixel-cats have four different "winds." They can be thought of as X, Y, Both or Neither and are separate from the gender they use. These winds do come with a few stereotypes, but they are more trends and socially-constructed than a general rule. Many cats do not fit into these boxes.

🌙 The North Wind 🌙
Cats born under the cold Northern Winds are said to be hardy and resilient, with brave hearts and sharp claws.
When the first Northern cat was born, they ran off into the sky to battle with the stars.
North Wind cats have standard colors and are able to reproduce with South or Trade wind cats.
-
☀️ The South Wind ☀️
Cats born under the warm Southern Winds are said to be gentle and inviting, with warm dispositions and a benevolent heart.
When the first Southern cat was born, they were said to race after the Northern cat to keep them out of trouble.
South Wind cats have standard colors and are able to reproduce with North or Trade wind cats.
-
⭐ The Trade Wind ⭐
Cats born under the spiraling Trade Winds are said to be as versatile as the wind and waves, ever-changing and forever learning.
When the two winds joined together, a cat of the Trade Wind was born. It followed the Northern and Southern cats to serve as a mediator between them.
Trade Wind cats are known to boast special dual-tone coats (tortoiseshell or calico). They are able to reproduce with North, South, or other Trade wind cats.
-
🌑 The Null Wind 🌑
Cats born under the silent Null Wind are said to be quiet, reserved, and as mysterious as the stars themselves.
The three original cats raced throughout the stars, leaving the Null cat behind to look after their home. But the Null cat did not mind, because without the other cats around, the world was still and at peace.
Null cats' coats are always a snowy white shade and they are unable to have biological kittens.

Archetypes
Every pixel-cat is sorted into a personality archetype which influences their general personality traits, as well as how they interact with each other and the world.
There are twelve personality archetypes, detailed as follows:
-
💫 Adventurous 💫
Adventurous cats love to go out, see the world, and explore! They don't like to be held down for long, and have a strong sense of curiosity. Adventurous cats are happiest when they're allowed to travel the world and bring back the exciting things they have found.
-
🔥 Commanding 🔥
Commanding cats demand attention and tell all of the other cats what to do. They can be bossy, a bit prideful, and somewhat overbearing, but they make strong leaders when given the opportunity to shine. They rarely if ever respond to feedback, though, and if they aren't the leader, they may actively compete with the leader for their own agendas.
-
🪶 Curious 🪶
Curious cats love to study and investigate their surroundings. These cats tend to be extremely shy, always too busy looking around and learning things to pay attention to the others. That said, what they lack in social skills, they make up for in their knack for making discoveries.
-
🥀 Dramatic 🥀
Dramatic cats are emotional creatures who feel very strongly about things, can be a bit theatrical, and love to interact with other cats. If they are unhappy, they can and will cause a scene. If they are happy, they also can and will cause a scene. Everything is a life or death situation for these cats.
-
🦋 Gentle 🦋
Gentle cats are soft and love to take care of the others around them. They are compassionate and generous, willing to do anything to make the others happy. If you need someone to listen and provide advice or comfort, a gentle cat is always there for you. They also tend to be the ones who care for those who are sick or injured.
-
🌿 Imaginative 🌿
Imaginative cats love to create and explore! They're a bit lost in the clouds, definitely daydreamy, and prefer to work on their own projects on their own time. While they often excel at their interests, they can be a bit spacey around other tasks.
-
🌸 Jovial 🌸
Jovial cats are silly cats that like to make jokes and play around. Such cats can be very difficult to motivate to work or actually do their job, but nevertheless their ways of inspiring happiness and laughter in the other cats makes them a valuable member of the community.
-
❄️ Mysterious ❄️
Very little is known about the mysterious cat. These kitties keep to themselves and often prefer to spend their time alone, rarely actually speaking. You can live with a mysterious cat for years and still feel like you barely know anything about them.
-
🍄 Ordinary 🍄
Ordinary cats are hard-working, benevolent, and friendly. They're good neighbors, down-to-earth friends, and get along well with their families. Generally all-around average folks. These cats will cause you no trouble so long as everyone is treated with respect and kindness. They're the voice of reason in an otherwise unreasonable village.
-
🌼 Pleasant 🌼
Pleasant cats are happy and excited to help and be a member of your village. They are quite optimistic (and a bit naive), but with a strong sense of compassion. Pleasant cats can be a bit shy and are very anxious, especially when corrected.
-
🌳 Protective 🌳
Protective cats are fully dedicated to the others in the village. They will do anything to protect their friends and family, and are not afraid to stand up for the others. These cats are generally sweet and gentle, but as soon as you threaten their friend they will bring out the knives. They can be a bit self-sacrificing, though.
-
⚡ Rebellious ⚡
Rebellious cats don't listen to anyone! They do what they want! These cats can be ill-mannered, a bit dangerous, and they listen to nobody and nothing. Still, if they are given an interesting job and a great deal of freedom, they can be valuable members of the village.
