Good idea! Or you can try private tutoring to kids you know or like offer your services of facebook, i did that and it worked great!

I had tried getting a position in a nearby school as an admin to get a taste of it, but never heard back. I'll keep trying with it though, I want to help others

Well, maybe that teaching degree might do you good then! You could keep doing tutoring/try doing it and it could give you an idea if you like it or not! I did a lot of tutoring before and It helped me realize I really loved teaching.

Yes! I've worked in customer service for so long and it never gets old seeing that light. I've worked with college students and helping them, and seeing that light come back after talking with them is what pushed me to try and help others

Yeah, I getcha! I love seeing that "light" in their eyes when I teach something and it clicks. I really like ffeling like I'm making a difference in kids lives and making them better people for society. It's cringey but it's so true

Awww that's so cute. I'm not usually a kid person, but I love the idea of guiding them into bigger and better things, if that makes sense.

Ouch, driving is rough for a commute.
I teach kinder through 6th grade! Since I sub day to day It's always a different class. I do like working with the older kids though cause I can be more real and direct with them haha. No need to beat around the bush, I can just straight up tell them "what are you even doing" instead of being like "oops, I think you made a bad choice!". Though I alose like the younger grades cause they're ususally so loving and sweet. I love when they hug my legs and tell me I'm the best haha

I get what you're saying. I have to drive it, so it feels just like time wasted. I tried getting into audiobooks but I felt sleepy listening. I'm trying to find a job closer to home but it's rough. Enough complaining from me though lol, what grade level do you teach?

I'm usually up early when I sub, it's just that some days are so tiring that I just hit the hay once I'm home. I'm lucky, I have may off-ish, I have jobs here and there but I start work in june through august in a daycare (since schools are closed in summer lol). I used to have super long commutes too, I get the feeling! I read a lot in the bus tho or I studied so I wouldn't "loose the time" (idk how to phrase it in english)

I'm in the US. 6pm? I'm jealous! I go to bed usually around 10:30-11 and I'm up by 6 for my current job T^T I did the math, I'm at work (including commute) for 11 hours a day

I don't know where you are, I'm in Canada so I know the teaching situation is different than in the US. However, as much as I love it, it's quite challenging. It's not always fun nor easy, but sadly I can't bring myself to hate it haha. I find it super rewarding to be able to teach the kiddos but sometimes I go to bed at 6pm after a subbing day haha

Oh that's cool! I've considered going back to get a teaching degree, I can't decide what degree I want. I went to college for 3 years, didn't end up liking what I was doing and I was failing so I left and I'm trying to figure it out now

So I've been on hiatus for about a year only logging in to save my account from deletion so I could come back at some point. I'm currently wanting to get back into commissions and handling an art shop again. But honestly I have no clue how to anymore or where to start. I also forgot basically all the art lingo because life is stressful. Anyone have any tips or ideas on where to start?

Starting an art shop can be super stressful.

But honestly, I think as long as you have your rules; aka what people can request, what you won't do, how to credit, etc.

Have some examples for them to see

and then some basic pricing

headshot - just the head of character

bust Shot - Down to the shoulders

half body - half of the character (usually down to the waist)

fullbody - the whole character

Then you can decide if you want to sell different things.
sketches(not clean lines), lined(clean lines no color), flat colors (aka no shading), shaded, etc.

Pricing wise, people are super helpful if you post examples and ask; what would y'all pay?

I hope this helps! :3
