Prey Disappearing In Explore?

I got to a tile in explore that had both an Elk and a chance to Fish. Usually when this happens, I fish and then step backward and back onto the tile to take care of the prey animal.

This time when I fished, the elk disappeared entirely and even when I stepped back and forward again, it was still gone. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I would show a screenshot but I completely forgot about the bugs forum until my husband mentioned it to me. When i get back into explore I'll try and get a screenshot of the tile it was on, though I'm not sure what good that will do.
