Gold chain in the event?

I'm crafting a gold chain now and I've run into the dwarf in explore a few times. Is the gold chain for that encounter or is it something sellable to Montak?

If it is a dwarf event... will it effect Fenrir? :( cause I kind of want to let him keep wreaking chaos, i dont want him all chained up. Unless it weakens him in the explore encounters, I wouldn't mind making him easier to knock out.
