Introduction
In a world filled with magical abilities that both human and creature are blessed with, life sparked. A new society was built. New rules, new changes, new everything.

Kingdoms were formed and vast territories were conquered. Now. These kingdoms weren't just anything typical, but rather modernized. Beautiful palaces are adorned with a more..Modern touch. While well lit and decorated street markets, shops, and in just general, buildings lay before it. Transportation varies from bikes to sleek cars. Pretty well progressed you could say.

Every kingdom has its own..Air to it. It mostly depends on its certain customs or rules which every citizen must abide by. But what every kingdom has in common are their famous arenas where powerful mages of any sort participate for anywhere from a very pretty penny to, lets say a prince or princess's hand in marriage.
Every Arena challenge is held in high regards, the victor being the most praised and adored in the end; attracting well known magic companies who often scout during these tournaments. But the most famous arena would be in Kingdom Yallis. A kingdom famous for their powerful mages and wonderful prizes, a place where these magic companies most often recruit the victorious and grant them a spot in a palace. All in all, its a big deal.
-
Basic Plot
Two mages participate in a special arena competition where the prize is a trip to the famous Kingdom Yallis, a place where mages have the opportunity to be scouted by the big shots. He's determined, and so is she. Will they stay commited to their goals of fame, or will they break a certain rule in the process?

Kingdoms

There are many kingdoms, some more famous than the other, some better than the other. What mostly determines a kingdom's success rate when it comes to wars are their amount of mages and those magically skilled. That is why every mage is valued, and those who actually achieve the title have the opportunity of fame. Some royal families will even offer the most skilled mage the hand of a prince or princess, guaranteeing their children's safety and the prosperity of the kingdom.

Not every Kingdom looks the same. Each and every one has its own distinctiveness that cannot be very interchangeable, for example, one of the most well known kingdoms, Kingdom Yallis. A place where tall gold and white palaces reside. Sometimes the color’s even strung along street lamps or shops to notify the people of an upcoming festival. It's a place of stricter customs and rules, but the amount of fame or money one can obtain in the Kingdom outweighs it all. The King and Queen are known to rule with an iron grip, ensuring their lands' abundance by gathering the most skilled mages as anywhere from a palace guard, to the partner of the royal child.

Territories are vast, and some sections are still yet to be tamed. Some kingdoms may have thick forests or mountain ranges yet to be fully explored, and those locations are where competing mages are sometimes sent to complete arena challenges. Every Kingdom has its own special rules and customs. Some may require a person to dress a certain way or have a certain rank in order to be seated at restaurants or purchase homes. Kingdom Yallis is one of those kingdoms

Housing

There's a variety of housing in each and every kingdom, but of course, the most desired or elite abodes are the palaces. Anyways, there can be anything from cottages to apartments. By apartments I don't mean the really deluxe ones with large glass windows and whatnot, but rather a more..toned down version. Intricate buildings where multiple creatures and/or humans can live. It basically functions as an apartment, which is what I’m saying.

Land can be purchased, land where people can establish their own estates or something like that. While apartments and other adequate housing is normally in a more rowdy part of kingdoms, cottages take place in a more intimate and secluded area, most often the place where couples book it to have their own cheap getaway. Cottages are more often than not placed in a remote location, maybe by a quiet lake or in the hills. Kingdoms can be rated on their cottage scenery as well.

Festivities

Just like every kingdom has its own customs, every kingdom has its own unique take on holidays and festivities. There are royal festivals; festivals where only those in high regards or rank are allowed to attend, and there are just..festivals. Festivals that anyone can participate in. Now, as for just regular activities, there is a variety. Horseback riding all the way to just scrolling away at a phone. Now again, every kingdom has its own customs and ways of life. So not every kingdom has such gadgets or cars.

Now, when I say phone, I don’t mean one that contains apps or anything too advanced. But rather little devices that can only dial others or capture worthy moments known as photos. Its design is much like a flip phone but a more decorated version. They are very costly and mainly royals own them.

Transportation

There are horses, chariots, carriages, minor rides like skateboarding but not actually skateboarding you know, and also cars.

These cars tend to not really have actual doors, but just rather a large “window” where there is no glass, just open space. Despite it, the actual design still looks quite nice and it is a favored mode of transportation. Again, very costly and actually, very few royal families own these cars because it just appears..unseemly in their eyes so they tend to go for carriages or horses. Wealthy mages can be found riding around in such cars instead, but it ofcourse, depends on people's preference alone.

Arena Spiel

Not every arena is the same, but what is most usual for nearly everyone, is the fact that there are rules. A lot of rules that every participant must follow. If someone breaks even a minor rule they are immediately booted from the competing space. Not just anyone can waltz into an arena and hope to be accepted. No, people have to undergo a lengthy process of enlistment and scanning. Already established mages tend to be the ones to review the forms and determine whether or not one can enter the arena debating on their skills and other promising little details.

Once one is accepted, they pack their bags and get ready to be transported to a large dorm where other participants will be staying, fine tuning their skills and availability. Not every fight or challenge will be held in the arena. There actually aren't many restrictions or boundaries when it comes to the challenges. Like stated before, some competitions may be held in a remote location or even in a street that will ofcourse be cleared out and prepped for the fighting participants.

Alliances can be formed between participants as well as friendships or maybe something even more scandalous, but one rule that is shared across nearly all arenas is that romance is forbidden. Why you may ask? Well, there has been speculation that such feelings of love can blind an opponent from completing their given tasks and it just gets messy. No one wants to see star crossed lovers in an arena section. They want action and proof of ones skill. Romance between participants tends to get in the way of that.

Appearance

Pale blue-ish gray skin is what is most noticeable about the man upon first sight, smooth and clear. Though you’d expect some acne considering how much junk he consumes; these elf genes don’t play. Alakai has a square face, basically a wider jaw with sharp angles. What rests on his face are sleek upturned eyes with thick, angular brows. What looks like eyeliner along his eyes are actually small markings, inherited from his parents, or more like his mother. Kai has a roman nose, slightly raised along the bridge; a bump you could say. Some tend to dislike such a nose but he wears it with little indiscretion. Kai has semi-long lashes, though they often fall straight instead of lifting along the lids, prompting his mother to try and curl them with her fingers to no avail.

Beneath his eyes are bags, dark eye bags that tend to make him appear tired, like he binged watched some show twelve hours straight. His lips are full, black in color. He doesn’t wear lipstick, in fact they are naturally black. Inside his mouth are sharp teeth. Not just his canines but in fact near every tooth. This feature of him does actually warp in some insecurities, hence why he objects to smiling. Along his jaw is a singular small, flat, mole though another one resides on his neck near his chest. Framing Alakai’s face is long, thick wavy hair, curtain bangs its most frequent style. His hair reaches a little past his shoulder and is black in color, though the front strands are dyed a light gold.

His hands are long and slender, at the end of his fingers are black nails, long opaque black nails that kind of resemble claws but they aren’t quite sharp and frightening enough. Alakai is well built; lean, yet still consisting of some muscle mass. His best ability from that factor would be his speed and agility. He could defend himself if need be but not for very long as he’d definitely weaken and tire out. He has flat abs, not much you could say; his priorities are laid out a bit more differently than others.

Kai is 6’3 often looming over others and others looming over him. He has a nose ring piercing and a helix ear piercing. Though speaking of ears, his are long. Long enough that they protrude from his hair. They’re slender, the ends being a more darker blue-ish gray color than the rest of his skin. Approximately eight inches. Alakai has black eyes, wide pupils with the whites just barely visible at the edges. His gaze can be pretty intense.

Attire

He mostly wears loose fitted linen clothing with a sort of lace up collar and somewhat flowy sleeves. Atop that either a long black cloak or a red one. But of course, sometimes he decides not to wear one at all. He mostly wears black or gray trousers but on occasions, he'll wear red or white. He often wears a thick black belt to top it all off, matching the color of his equally dark satchel.

Scars

He’s pretty clean except for this semi-long scar along his chest. He doesn’t even remember where or how he got it. He just woke up and it was there. Or at least that's what he told his mother.

Tattoos?

He has a small but noticeable tattoo of the scorpius constellation on his neck. He’d like to get more but he doesn’t have the patience for it.

Personality

Alakai is a pretty reserved person. It's not that he’s shy, it's just that social interaction isn’t exactly what he looks forward to in his daily life. While he won’t mind if someone initiates contact with him, if they just appear tedious or just annoying, he’ll hope it's not for long. He’s not a very loud person at first, but once he feels comfortable, expect witty retorts and light teasing. Other than that, you’ll mostly see him minding his business. When he does decide to speak, one might find his wording to be quite interesting, as it is not just typical speech but rather articulate. For example, he might replace the word “perfect” with “immaculate” and “great” with “magnificent”. Though the whole sentence would be a mixture of interesting words.

Another word to describe him is that he’s affectionate, keen on physical touch. But more in a shy type of way. He’s gentle, tentative when reaching out to someone, always one to enjoy warm embraces or hand holding. He likes it all. Occasionally, there are times when he rids himself of his reluctant tendencies and just goes for it. You want to be his friend? He’ll keep you around with a begrudging facade; hooking his arm around one's neck or grabbing their wrists to guide them along with him. He can be a bit mean when he speaks. Or at least those who are sensitive would think so. Kai can be sarcastic, stubborn, and irritatingly blunt. Though fortunately, it's not a quality that shines very much.

Like said before, Alakai doesn’t talk much, and when he does, the majority of the time it's not something one would want to hear; but surprise, surprise, he can be a little flirt; or atleast he thinks he's flirting. Not the outgoing flirtatious type, but rather the subtle style. He’ll pick on those he likes more than others, another way he shows affection. The way he flirts isn’t very peculiar, but at the same time it is. He’ll often find himself ignoring them or acting coldly, though the touching remains the same. Its really just a natural reaction of his; glaring at a person he likes and then when they’re turned around, unknowingly blushing profusely. Perhaps that is why he’s never been in a relationship before.

Kai can be a pretty whimsical person, while not totally impulsive, he does have his moments where he just completely loses focus and wanders off to something that has caught his eye. He’s..academically smart but not very street smart; knowing his literature and most of the time what he’s talking about, but sometimes oblivious to the worldly things. He has broken humor and can be quite arrogant at times, though he tries his best not to- sometimes it just invades his thinking and speech.

Strengths (3)

Agility/speed- He’s pretty quick on his feet.

Archery- He’s been participating in the activity ever since he was a child and he still isn’t all that amazing at it, but he is good.

Strength- I mean, he isn’t extremely built but Kai won’t necessarily struggle in a fight

Weaknesses (3)

Cute faces- He’ll never outwardly show it but trust me, he’ll be internally screaming if he sees someone cute.

Endurance- He’s pretty fast but known to tire out easily

Sweets- He loves junk and almost always has some type of sweet on him.

Fears (3)

Thalassophobia- The fear of deep water. Not knowing what's going on beneath you in such a vast body of water is definitely not something he enjoys.

Sharp objects- Such as knives or needles. This is pretty self explanatory right?

Rejection- Due to this fear, he finds himself not pursuing the things he wants all the way to the end.

Family?

Mother- Maeve; he is the closest to her

Father- Lenval; he currently has no contact with him. Wasn’t really the best father.

Sister- Kennvi; They are close, she’s basically the female version of him, just a darker shade of blue-ish gray.

Other

Alakai’s voice is actually pretty deep

Appearance
One of the most striking and noticeable things about Anaria is her ashen-tone hair, which falls in gentle waves across her shoulders, tapering off several inches past the blades of her shoulders. There are a few streaks of beautiful white locks throughout her thick head of hair. Hidden behind her curls are her ears somewhat narrow and pointed, clear evidence of both her human and elf origins. Not nearly as long as many other elven ears hers sit at a little under five inches in length.
~
Unlike many of the people on her elven side, her skin is more along the scale of color that a human is, not nearly as pale and crystalline as that of a full-blooded light elf. That being said she's a great deal paler than an average human's skin tone would be as well, not quite an elf and certainly not fully human. If her light skin and ashen hair weren't enough to catch the attention of others, her eyes certainly would. A beautiful almond shape and surrounded by somewhat long and thick dark lashes. The color of her iris, which is slightly larger than that of a humans, is of a silvery hue with a hint of a lavender shade to it with a thick dark outline to her iris.
~
Standing at 5'9 she has a slender and lithe building, allowing her to be a fair bit more swift and agile than others. That being said she does have some muscle, due to hours spent training. Her face is more the round shape of a heart with her pink-toned lips matching the aesthetic. Her skin as well is healthy and smooth, and would be rather soft to the touch should anyone get close enough to do so.

Scars
Despite years of physical training, Anaria's body is quite clean of any impurities save for a semi-jagged scar that sits a good 3 inches to the left of her navel and traverses down and towards her thigh nearly 6 1/2 inches.

none for the time being

Personality
Anaria isn't exactly a socialite, quite the opposite actually. She prefers to spend time on her own, often finding the company of others to be little more than bothersome. Should someone initiate a conversation with her she more often than not will remain silent, refusing to respond, or give a curt answer before leaving the situation altogether. That being said she isn't afraid to speak her mind or stand up for what she believes in. This characteristic has gotten her into more trouble than she'd care to admit.
~
A loyal person to the few close friends and family that she does have, Anaria would do anything for them. If they were to ever be in trouble she wouldn't hesitate to charge in and help. She doesn't care what others say about her, finding their opinions to be irrelevant, however, she's quick to step in should anyone say something bad about her family and friends. To her, it's intolerable for people to listen to rumors and makeup assumptions about the people she cares for.
~
Despite the fact that she can be a bit rash when it comes to threats and negativity being pointed to those she cares about, Anaria is quite level-headed. When by herself she has will take in the sights around her and note the people and potential weapons before getting involved in anything more than a moment of standing for her morals, speaking her mind, and protecting her loved ones. She enjoys trying to outplay her opponents, getting several steps ahead and ultimately defeating them.

Weaknesses
Strength- She has some strength and muscle to her but not nearly enough to be considered 'strong'.

{Alakai Nevien||Dark elf||Illusion Ability}

A shaded figure stood before an enchanting forest, briefly allowing his gaze to linger on the wavering shadows casted by the looming trees and shrubbery. He chuckled, a pleased look resting on his face. And with his head tilted upwards, he’d relish in the gentle breeze that ruffled his lengthy dark hair, blowing it gently behind his shoulders. “What an exquisite performance.” A shimmering, softly churning glacial lake trickled soothingly in his ears, the gentle glow of sunlight accentuating his features. With his satisfaction plastered across his face, everything would soon begin to melt away. The trees, the bushes; it all dissipated, leaving nothing but the exterior of his apartment.

“Are you ready?” He’d turn at the sound of a familiar voice, meeting eyes with his sister Kennvi who clutched two suitcases by the handle with an eccentric smirk. They both stepped towards each other and Alakai would grab hold of the smaller one, rolling it by his side as he eyed his sister's attire. “You plan to arrive at the dormitory dressed like that?” She’d scoff softly before whisking past him, her curly black hair slapping him in the face. “Keep your overbearing words to yourself.” Pausing, she'd then turn back to face him “Now where's our ride?”

“Just beyond that tree.” He’d point simultaneously, examining the awaiting carriage. Topped and white with black lining the big wheels. It turned heads as others walked by and the large muscular stallions attached to it snorted and tossed their heads, drawing even more attention. Kennvi stared in awe and would soon clap her hands, a pleased look on her face as they both began to approach the carriage. He still couldn’t really grasp it. He was going to be a participant in one of the largest arena’s in Kingdom Ardin where the prize is a free trip to the land of Yallis. Truely a golden opportunity.

As they both entered the carriage, Alakai would turn to face his sister, tucking his suitcase between his legs with closing doors. “Who would’ve thought you’d be seated in this divine vehicle along with me. I always thought I’d be waving you a goodbye.” He sighed and tilted his head back, stifling a smirk as he felt a stinging pain in his shoulder; something that felt like multiple needles pelting his arm. “Shut up. My magic by far surpasses yours.”

“Whatever you say.” He could hear the gentle clops of the horses hooves and the soft croak of the wheels. Not to mention excited chatter of nearby people outside. Right. The people. He hoped he’d be a crowd favorite. Well, that was everyone's hopes. Being a crowd favorite gives you a certain edge above other participants and gives you the spotlight. Normally he wouldn’t care for it, but now, it's what he wishes for the most. Is it greedy of him to want money and fame? Something to fuel his subtle arrogance? Maybe. But he doesn’t care.

As the coach gently rolled upon a large, golden striped building, he’d awaken from his mellow slumber; though Kennvi’s rough pounding on his chest was also a factor. “I'm up” He snapped, situating himself and wiping his face of any drool. There was a light in his sister's eyes as she admired the tall dormitory. Draped between two builds was a fantastic banner, supposedly a welcome for the new arrivals, and lining the dorm exterior was beautiful architecture consisting of interesting well made patterns.

They both exited the coach and as the breeze gently folded and flapped his clothing as it wished, Alakai made his way towards the entrance, bag and sister in tow. He glanced around coolly, following the escort who led them both through lengthy corridors and empty dining halls. Eventually the clacking of their shoes against hard floor would die down and the tall slender man dressed in a pale tailcoat would turn on his heel, meeting eyes with them both. “The rest of your journey won’t be very long. Just head up those stairs and turn left to the first room.” Looking towards Kennvi, he’d then proceed. “As for you, please follow me.”

“See ya, loser.” She’d snort before trailing after the dutiful man, allowing a hand to grip a strap along her black trousers. He'd would glare at the back of her head with scrutiny before rolling his eyes. Soon though, he’d commence upstairs, tossing his suitcase on the bland bed as soon as he entered the room. It had decorative wall paper of forest green coloring and an expanse of floor space; on the opposite side was another bed, signaling that he’d perhaps have a roommate to share the space with. An irritating addition but nothing he couldn’t handle.

Kai would then toss himself on the bed just as he had done his suitcase and with his thick hair sprawled around his cushioned head, he’d allow his eyes to rest; blowing air out of puffed cheeks. “..Get situated huh..” He thought aloud, recalling the man's earlier words. They’d have to wait for all the others to arrive before they could head down to the auditorium to be given an introduction, until then, unpack their things. Well he wasn’t going to object. These last few days have been strenuous. It wouldn’t hurt to rest for a little bit.

It was late morning that found Anaria standing at the windowsill of her bedroom, eyes looking down at the crowded streets through a crown glassed window. The plethora of hand-cut circles, some smaller than others, distorting the figures passing on the ground below. It had been a subject that, as she'd aged, she'd begun to look into, curious as to how someone could create such intricate detail in the window that she so often looked out. It turned out, that to create just a single pain similar to the one she was currently gazing out of, took several long hours. The glass was heated until it was a bright orange color before then being hooked onto the end of a rod and spun. The process was repeated multiple times before the result ended in one that people would pay good money to buy.
The sound of a soft knock at her door pulled the hybrid's attention from the window. "Come in!" She called turning her back to the window and facing the door as it opened. In came her mother, dark-haired and rosy-cheeked. Her bright green hues resting on her as she hurried into the room, what looked like a small box wrapped in some of the best cloth they owned in her hands. "Hello, darling." she cooed, moving her way towards the small suitcase that rested at the foot of Anaria's bed. Setting the box down the woman then turned to her daughter, releasing a heavy sigh as she did so and moving to place her hands on her hips. "I take it your all set then?" Smiling Anaria gave a nod. "Yep, the only thing to do now is wait until the carriage arrives." The young elf hybrid moved towards her cases and the item that had been placed on top. Picking it up she tossed a glance to her mother, raised a brow as she did so. The faint scent of her mother's honey-nut cookies coming from within the container. Such delicacies had always been her favorite, and even now she couldn't help but crack a happy smile. "Those are for your trip should you get hungry." Her mother chirped, quickly giving input as if she were about to be scolded. Anaria gave a nod before setting the box down on her suitcase before letting out a sigh. "I'm still trying to convince myself this is actually happening." She confessed. "I mean, me invited to participate in an arena in Ardin?" She shook her head before letting out a puff of air.
If she could make it as a finalist wealth and fame were in her future but, above all that she could practically guarantee her mother a house, and her sisters their own room. Her father could always have that farm he wanted with as much livestock as he cared to have, and she, she could enjoy the luxuries of the city without having to barter for a lower price. That very possibility alone was one of the main reasons she was going, though she would desperately miss the loved ones she had to leave behind.
Mary opened her mouth, starting to give a response to her daughter's words when the sound of girlish shrieks filled the overall silence of the house. "It's here, it's here!?" Faeylen's voice. She was the youngest of the three siblings, and the most easily excitable. The sound of footsteps thudding across the wooden floor of the family apartment was the first thing to reach Anaria with only a short second or two lead before the young girl came barreling into her room. Unlike Anaria her hair was much more mundane, dark midnight-colored locks that matched their mothers. Her skin was an uncanny pale, however, really the only sign that she wasn't entirely human. Where Anaria and Ameerah had both their fathers pale skin and pointed ears, Faeylen's ears were short and entirely round, no sign of elven blood there. "Anaria! The carriage! It's here!" She exclaimed, quickly pulling her sister from her silent thoughts of comparison.
`
After Faeylen had made the announcement it hadn't taken long for Anaria to gather her things and head down and out of the apartment. Her family close behind. The only member missing was her father, who often got up before dawn and headed to work. He of course had woken her to say his farewells and wish her luck before he'd left. Something she was greatly appreciative of.
The carriage was extraordinary, its covered top and sleek white exterior, as well as the large and equally extravagant black wheels, practically screamed importance and luxury. Several of the passersby had stopped to stare, some continuing on their way through doing a double take. The large and muscular white stallions at the front only added to the scene, their necks, chests, and backs decorated in expensive-looking gear, white with a golden border along with the straps that ran along their backs and into the hands of the coaches driver. He too was dressed wonderfully and Anaria had to remind herself not to stare. Instead, she forced her body to move as she turned back to her family, offered a smile, and then loaded both her luggage and herself into the wagon. Sitting down with her suitcase resting next to her leg she turned and looked towards her family once more, giving a fond wave in return to the ones they offered her. And then the carriage gave a slight jolt as the horses were commanded to move and the carriage was pulled behind them.
By the time they rolled up to the dormitory in which Anaria would be staying whilst she was here, she hadn't been able to keep from eating a few of the cookies her mother had passed. Nor had she been able to keep from relaxing to the sound of the horse's hooves hitting the cobblestone streets and the turn of the wheel. So, when the carriage came to a stop she straightened her posture and grabbed her suitcase, moving to climb down from the carriage once the doors were opened. It wasn't until her feet hit the ground however that she allowed herself the chance to look towards the large building of the dormitory. The large banner hung between two buildings was one of the first things to catch her attention. Then, as she started to move towards the entrance of the building, the size and the intricate patterns carved into the marbled stone of the dormitory gave her a moment of pause. She hadn't seen anything quite like it before, nothing as extravagant and rich as this.

{Alakai Nevien||Dark elf||Illusion Ability}

With closed eyes, he’d listen to the subtle but equally exuberant movements of those beyond his cracked door, muffled chatter echoing off the walls. It somewhat piqued his interest but he refrained from investigating, instead dipping his head further against the supple mattress. If he was needed, he knew he’d be called down. He knew of nearly everything. Everything about the arena that is. Every pamphlet that was passed out, he made sure to read it, ensuring his knowledge before officially applying. He knows of the rules, the most favorable tactics..It's all to secure his victory at the end of it all. Sighing softly, Kai would eventually lift himself with brief reluctance, a vexed expression crossing his face.

The gentle creak of the floorboards and light tapping of shoes gave it away. Someone was nearing; possibly his roommate. Or perhaps it would be the same man from before, coming to fetch the elf for the gathering. Either way, he attempted to rid himself of lingering fatigue that acted as a restraint; pinning him to the bed. But of course to no avail. As Alakai fully stood to his feet, simultaneously, the door opened, revealing a tall striking figure. -Immediately, he was enraptured, and turning to look at the kappa, he’d watch as a sly smile graced his lips; his milky green hair framing his face and dusting his arched brows.

Kai felt..delirious or even intoxicated, except the cause was unknown. He felt like he’d do anything for this man, so much so that he couldn’t even muster up enough strength to look away. “What is this..” He thought, and while captured by this sudden trance, he’d begin to analyze the kappa, searching for the possible trigger of his magic. It had to be magic. He never feels this way and definitely not over a stranger. “Hey.” The male finally spoke, and almost instantly, Kai’s gaze snapped towards his; unwillingly so. “Come here.”

Just like before, his body moved on its own. While involuntarily walking towards the doorway, he began to quickly think, though the man's all-too satisfied smirk pit a small fire in his stomach, affecting his thought process. Though If it wasn’t for his next words, he possibly would have succumbed to whatever precarious demands that were next, later exact his revenge when out of hold. “Do you like my charm?” Smirking, he leaned in. “Tell me all your strategies if yes.”

“I-..” Kai stammered, and following was a grimace of disgust. Since when has he ever stammered? Tilting his head down, he’d go silent, momentarily inflicting a state of surprise and confusion on the cunning kappa. “Answer me, puppet” He snapped, mild frustration tingeing his equally light green brows. Alakai’s response was expected, but not in the way it actually came out; hands hooking onto the collar of his light brown tunic and slamming him into the wall.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing.” A flash of sheer surprise would overtake his opponent's face before he’d quickly regain his composure, grabbing onto Kai’s wrists with a glare. “Fuck you. No one ever gets out of my charm.”He spat. This only angered him even further, and with swift movements, he’d reel the man forward before banging him back against the wall with a soundly thud, his green bangs now disheveled and falling into his dark brown eyes. He had long, viridescent mint lashes and dark tan skin. His ears just barely peeked from his relatively thin hair. Overall, he was a pretty attractive creature, but obviously not enough to avoid a beating

“What a distasteful tactic...who would have predicted I’d have a leech as my roommate.” With that being said, he’d force himself to release the male, afterwards brushing his hair back and dusting off his shirt. He almost wanted to pretend nothing ever happened but thinking back, he could feel his fury steadily rising once more, like an over boiling pot. How dare he use his dirty magic on him? It didn’t help that both of their abilities were kind of similar in terms of results as well. “How..” The elf would side eye the kappa as he spoke, though didn’t bother to give him his full attention. “..How did you overcome my charm..” He finished, and when Alakai finally turned to look at the man, he was met with crossed arms and an averted gaze. His face was fixed into a look of subtle embarrassment and disappointment but it was still matched with angry brows, his bottom lip jutting out in a pout. Kai stood silent for a moment before sighing gently, and with that sigh went a lot of pent up anger and frustration. Why? He didn’t really know himself. “When you said charm..I realized it must’ve been your eyes holding me captive. Hence why I pushed myself to look down. It wasn’t very facile so..don’t dwell on it.”

“But I didn’t reveal anything else! How could you have known?” Slight frustration disturbed the man's voice and he searched Alakai’s gaze as if there were any answers in it, but rather the same detached look from before. When he didn’t answer, he’d huff softly before marching over to the bed on the opposite side of the room, dragging his suitcase along with him. He didn’t feel very inclined to help after what had just gone down moments before, in fact, he was still ridding himself of the urge to throttle the kappa for such acts. As a result, he kept himself silently busy by unzipping his suitcase and placing various clothing and items on his bed; soon to be put away somewhere safe.

The sun continued to glimmer through the large windows, exposing drifting particles and casting away most shadows in the room. The lively laughter and speech of people could be heard just outside, and it was obvious they shared excitement over the new noobs. From where he was standing, he could just barely see a woman dressed in a fine gown, and in her hands she held a pair of binoculars which she readily began to lift to her eyes. Although it wasn’t unusual for people to want to get a sneak peek at the contestants, it wasn’t normal either. Alakai grabbed at air, subconsciously so at least. “Damn..No curtains..?” Before he could even fully walk away to go and fetch a spare shirt, a flash of emerald green hair whisked past, in his arms were large thick pieces of fabric.

Pausing, Kai would stare at him for a moment, a curious yet confused expression settled on his face. What was he up to this time? ‘What...What are you doing.” There was a halt in his words, conjured up from a very brief reconsideration of if he’d even want to know. “Putting up some curtains.” His response was short, not that Kai minded. In fact, he wordlessly watched as the man draped the violet curtains along the window, pinning it where it needed to be pinned before eventually scrolling it shut, blocking off only one of the many sources of light.

Slowly, he’d step away, admiring his work with a cheeky half smile. “So...elf. If you were wondering..my name’s-”

“I wasn’t” Alakai swiftly cut him off, and he’d stare at the kappa with his chin resting between his thumb and index finger, his other arm pressed against his stomach and offering support for it both. Some may perceive it as if he was deeply invested or pondering something worth time but in reality..he was trying to figure out how the man could fit such large, extravagant curtains in such a small suitcase. “Boo. How rude of you.” He responded, to which Kai would arch a brow, unamused. “Rude?” Before he could remind the male of his first impression, he spoke once more, though this time approaching Alakai with swift, quick movements.

“The name’s Caelan. But You can call me Cae.” His tone was sweet as well as his expression, and he’d meet the eyes of Kai’s even darker ones, though his gaze would narrow with doubt and mild disgust. What the hell type of switch was that?

(This was longer than expected but oh well.)
