Theo just remained on the bench, chewing on his lip and trying to do some breathing exercises. His mum always taught him that, to try and remain calm and breathe. It wasn't really working, but it was helping him from getting more angry. Eventually, he lifted his head from his palms and looked around. The grounds were deathly quiet, as most students were in class at this point. He was just grateful for the silence.
As he stood up, he grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulder. He thought today was just a complete right off and he didn't want to attend any of his classes. He picked up his other stuff and slowly began to walk back toward his room. He kept his head down looking at his feet as he was walking. Theo wasn't really paying attention, moving back toward the familiar hallways he had just moved away from. As he was doing so, he bumped into a small frame, and because he was looking at his feet, he could already see it was Wren.
Theo wasn't really sure if he should say something, he just muttered sorry under his breath and kept walking. He didn't understand why she wasn't in class as she was always into her studies. Theo knew that he was the cause of her missing class, so he spoke up. "Go back to class, don't worry about me," he told her, slowly strolling back toward the dorm rooms at a slow pace.

Wren's mind was racing. She really liked Theo. She had opened that one door that she knew she never should, and now she couldn't shut it again. She couldn't focus with knowing that he was upset, the fact that he was mad at her nearly stressing her enough to tears. She had been looking down a connecting hall when she bumped into someone, her head tilting up to find none other than Theo. She opened her mouth to speak, but he was already brushing her off, walking off again. Her jaw clenched as she bit the inside of her cheek, hardly keeping her emotions grounded as she turned to go after him, even after he told her to go back to class. "No," she responded bluntly, his slow pace making it easy for her to catch up with him. "You don't just get to be mad at me and ignore me for something I didn't even know was occurring," she told him, her voice trembling faintly. With any other girl, he could have gotten away with that, but she wouldn't just let him brush her off like that. She'd push back. "I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry that I didn't know I was being flirted with," she spoke, her gaze settled on him as they walked. "You get that sort of attention all the time, but I don't, so when someone come up to me just being friendly and cracking jokes, I just think they're being nice, because the last person that actually flirted with me was always bold and didn't hide his intentions," she went on, clearly quite upset herself. Even then, she would've thought he'd trust her more. She never did anything with anyone, keeping herself reserved and avoiding intimacy at all costs until it came to him.

Theo almost stopped in his tracks when he heard her say no. That wasn't a word he heard often, only when it came to her. He stopped hanging his head and turned to look at her. Theo was listening intently at her, understanding that she was upset with him. He could see why, he was completely ignoring her with something that wasn't her fault and out of her control. If anything, he should be giving the other guy the cold shoulder.
Just as he was about to speak, Wren spoke again. She was right, girls always gave him attention. And maybe he was being sweet and friendly to her when Theo arrived, but he just immediately thought he was flirting and she was doing it back. He sighed, running his hands through his hair before speaking up. "I'm sorry. I got caught up in the moment. I tried so hard to get you to see me for something else, and when he walked up to you and you were giggling that fast, I assumed that it was me that was the problem. That you didn't like me," he said honestly. He knew it was stupid, and he was almost scoffing at himself at he said it. But, he couldn't stay mad at her for something that she didn't do.
Theo stopped walking and turned to look at her, hoping that she would stop giving him the look that she used to give him, and would replaced it with something softer. His expression had changed to something of hurt and vulnerability. He didn't know what to do, cry? Smile? Who knows.

Wren listened as he talked, understanding completely where he was coming from. She knew it had to be hard seeing her act that way with someone when she always kept him at arms length. She stopped, standing in front of him as she remained quiet for a few moments. She sighed softly, her expression softening as she managed to give him a small smile. "Theo... I do like you, a lot. Since high school, actually," she admitted, shaking her head. Sure, the infatuation had faded now and again when she realized he wasn't interested in her, but when he did start flirting with her, all of those feeling came rushing back. She moved closer, taking one of his hands in hers. "I always resisted you because.. well, because I'm scared. I don't open myself up often, and I knew you weren't the type for relationships or labels, so it was just easier to try and make you hate me," she told him, having never said such words aloud before, even when she was alone. "If there is one thing I can promise you, it's that I won't go flitting from one person to the next. I like you. Not Barrett or any other fool that tries to catch my attention and get in my pants. You're the only person I'm interested in giving my time to, and if it's not you then it'll be no one," she finished, eyes having brimmed with tears. She hated being so vulnerable, but she could see that he was hurting and vulnerable too. It wouldn't be fair to close him out again for one simple argument.
