Fae nodded, agreeing with Kenley. "I'm sure my pack isn't too far off either." She smiled at both of them. "I don't want to get you in trouble, so I should go." As she finished her sentence, she started to turn, keeping her gaze on the two males as she waited for a response.

"Will you meet me here again tomorrow?" Dijkstra asked unable to stop himself. But by the smell of it hardly anyone from either packs came to this section of the border to make it. It was probably the safest place to meet. "Goodbye" kenley said as nicely as possible before starting back into the forest pausing at the tree line to look back and see if Dijkstra would follow. However, Dijkstra was to busy waiting for an answer to notice his friend.

Fae was slightly taken aback by the males questions, but after the small confusion passed, she smiled at him and nodded. "Sure, that sounds nice!" Her ears perked at the sound of paws moving through the forest at a fast pace, and her tail drooped sadly. "I have to go, Dijkstra, I'm sorry." She turned around without looking back, hoping Dijkstra wouldn't be offended. Fae quickly ran towards the sounds of the steps before they could get any closer to Dijkstra, and she hoped that he had left too.

Dijkstra was happy when fae told him yes. At the sound of paws hitting the earth, he looked behind him at kenley. "I think that's our cue to leave." Kenley told him to which Dijkstra obliged and padded into the forest allowing the night shadows to swallow him whole. He hadn't realized how late in the evening it was til he was in the forest.

Fae slowed to a walk as she approached the thudding paw steps, hoping to seem casual. The wolf that she had been found by perked up at the sight of her. "Oh, Faeris, thank goodness,. You're parents are worried about you." "As always." Fae chuckled. "Thanks for checking up on me, Gaia." "Just doing my duty." Gaia shrugged, smiling slightly. Assured that Fae would follow her back to the clearing, Gaia turned around and started finding her way back to the rest of the pack. Fae sighed, and eventually began following her, dreading going back to her parents. She flicked away the bugs that had started waking up with the setting of the sun and trekked onwards, staying a few paces behind the red she-wolf. Edited at June 28, 2023 05:55 PM by SunFalcon

Dijkstra entered the pack clearing behind kenley. Once back in the clearing, he saw most of the pack gathered. Most shifting their weight from time to time seeming annoyed. A few seeming excited for the potential night run. Dijkstra gaze landed on his mom who hadn't seemed to notice yet but when she did notice him, he was met with a glare. She padded up to him and sniffed his entire body looking for any signs of injury. "Thank you kenley for finding him and bringing him back." Dijkstra mom sqid.

It wasn't a far walk back to the clearing. Besides the chirping of crickets and the occasional rustling of leaves, it was silent the entire time. On the way, they ran into a couple more wolves from their pack, who joined them after seeing that Fae was safe. Fae walked into the clearing with her head down. Not because she was ashamed, she just didn't want to meet the gaze of anyone. She was scared of what sort of emotions she would see in them. So instead, she just made her way directly into the alpha's den. Her mother and father were already within, and her mom let out a sigh of relief as she saw her walk in. Gaia was still behind her. It would make her seem respectful, but Fae was fairly sure it was only so that she could receive credit for being the one to find her. Fae's father gave a nod to Gaia and thanked her before she ducked out of the den again. Fae's mother had now stepped over to her side and was nuzzling her affectionately. "You know dear, I wish you would get out of this habit of wandering off alone. It causes chaos within the whole pack." Fae had to hold her tongue, but she wanted to tell her that it wouldn't be chaos if she didn't make it such a big deal and have the whole pack search for her. "Sorry, Mom." Fae apologized half-heartedly. "I'll try to stop." Having said as much as she felt needed to be said, Fae turned away from her mother and curled up, facing towards the wall. She hoped her parents would leave her alone and just let her sleep.

Dijkstra mumbled under his breath a little before walking away and padding into the alpha den. He flopped down on the floor and was about to close his eyes when his mom walked in. "You had me worried." She told him laying down gently beside him and locking behind his ear. "Mom stop" Dijkstra said pulling his head away. "Would you stop worrying? I'm not a pup anymore. I know how to take care of myself." He said angrily getting to his feet. He began to pace to space in the den. "That's not what I'm worried about and you know it." He turned and watched as his mom looked down at the spot in front of her. He walked up to her and said in an affectionate tone, "I'm not gonna leave. Not you not the pack. Running away isn't gonna solve my problems but sometimes I'm gonna need time to myself to just run and clear my head." He nuzzle her neck and laid back down next to her.

Luckily for Fae, her parents did leave her alone after that. She eventually heard them settling down together and talking in hushed voices. Probably about her. She felt a little bad about being so harsh with her mother. She knew that she was just caring for her. But there was a certain point when it just became overbearing. She stared at the wall, tracing the cracks and vines up and down the brown stone. It was calming, and she fell asleep without realizing it.

Dijkstra struggled and tried to sleep but he was restless. Thinking about the events of the day and how he pretty much just told her he was gonna run the pack. Maybe it was cause he had unsettled her when he went for a run and he didn't want to worry her. Or maybe it was cause he knew he would take over the pack when he became old enough wether he liked it or not. His mind kept spinning on different thoughts like his mom wanting him to take over now. But all his thoughts always ended up back on faeris.
