Mara quite literally threw herself out of the window. A good landing was all the start the feline needed; she was already matching the midnight black cat pace by pace down the hill. Mockingbird. One well placed leap sent Mara and Mockingbird tumbling down the hill in a fury of claws and fur. |

" Mara! No" Kye chased after them. Not loosing footing over anything " A fight wont solve anything!" he pushed harder until he was beside them and he tried to nip at Mockingbird to get off her. " you dont have any right to be here!" he then found the intruders tail and bit hard, pulling them back away from mara. |

In her mind, a fight would make all the difference. Especially because they neared a lake at the bottom- where Maras plan would hopefully work. .. Mockingbird kicked Kye away. .. Mata took that chance to stop, and half kick-half throw Mockingbird towards the lake. She ran after, determined to execute this perfectly. Then the feline slipped on the muddy shore, sending her towards the water, when Mockingbird snatched her by the scruff, and pulled them under the water. |

Kye grunted as he was toss backwards " Mara!!!" he barked as he went to the waters edge " mara!!" I wish I knew how to swim he thought as he looked at the water. his paws getting wet. |

Further. Further. Further from the surface; Mockingbird pushed on. It seemed like the world was growing ever so slightly blurry, her lungs were burning as she tried desperately to get away. Mockingbird kicked her down, and make his ascent to the surface. Once the cat resurfaced, he made his way over to the shore, and sat there for a moment, dazed. . Mara struggled, she couldnt swim. Everything seemed to be getting further and further away, until her world went black. |

mara!!!! im sorry... I cant swim... its all up to you now from here... Im sorry He had promised her he would save her but there was no hope of saving now. |

No. She had to fight; this was her battle and hers alone, now. It took all her strength to avoid gasping in water, but Mara pushed herself up off the bottom of the lake, thrashing her limbs like some sort of wild animal running after its prey. Each time she got closer and closer- the surface was within reach. The lack of air was getting to her head, and everything felt dizzy, but she was able to kick her way up to fresh air. |

Kye was watching the water when he saw her break the waters surface and he whined, his tail wagging " mara! I thought I lost you!" he said pawing at the waters edge wanting to get to her " That bastard wont have you when I get my teeth on him again. " |

Mara soon made it to the shore, shaking and gasping for air as she slumped down onto the grass. |
