Wren hadn't failed to notice the way he'd seemed excited. It irked her a bit to give him exactly what he wanted, but she also didn't want things to be terribly awkward up until their date. It would be wise to get used to actually talking to him and not being so cold. Wren had a feeling that if she did go out with Holly she'd see Theo. It wouldn't be terrible, but she wasn't quite sure if she was ready for that. Wren nodded to his question, confirming she did have a class. "Mmhm. I've got Calculus next, but I'm free after that," she explained, her cool grey eyes studying the man before her. She bit her lip absentmindedly, wondering if he'd asked just to ask or if he'd wanted to know if she was free for other reasons.
"My roommate, Holly, invited me to go out later to the pub, but I don't know if I'm going to go yet," she admitted, shrugging lightly as rubbed the back of her neck. Her hand fell to rest at her side while the other rose so she could check the time on the watch that sat on her wrist. Cursing silently, her gaze rose to meet Theo's once more. "I've got to get to class before I'm late, but talk later, yeah?" She hummed, tilting her head. Her hair fell into her eyes as she looked up at him, her expression slightly warmer than normal.

Theo remained calm and kept a fairly neutral expression as Wren revealed that she might be going to the pub after college. He just nodded his head and smiled at her. "Well, I might see you later," he spoke and adjusted his weight to push himself away from the lockers he was just leaning against. He watched intently as she glanced down at her watch to reveal that she was going to be late for class. "Oh, of course. Don't let me be the cause of your lateness," he said and released his arms from the folded positon they were in. A small smile played on his lips as he stepped back to let her go. "Maybe see you later, at the pub," he said with a glimmer of hope before slinging his backpack over his shoulder. "Bye Wren," he said quietly, before walking away, toward the common room where he would do some studying for his test in the coming days. Theo entered the room and spotted Luke sitting at an empty table nearby. He plonked his backpack beneath the chair and sat down, yawning tiredly as he felt completely drained academically from the day. At this point it was only 3pm, so he still had some time to kill before he could go home. "Hey mate," Theo spoke to Luke, who had his head buried in his laptop, clearly engrossed in his studies. "Hey Theo," Luke murmured, not even looking up from his laptop. Theo decided not to engage in any further conversation, and he just grabbed his laptop from out of his bag and began to go over his astronomy notes. Edited at April 15, 2024 03:42 PM by Silent Creek

Wren was surprised to feel her heart flutter a bit when she heard Theo say she might see him later. It threw her off. She didn't like him like that, so why did she feel so... conflicted? As she looked back up at Theo, she gave a small smile, nodding to his words. "Perhaps so. See you later, Theo," she replied, watching as he walked away from her. It may had been a bad idea to give in to him. It was making her feel so differently about things. With a soft sigh, Wren turned and headed off to her Calculus class. She didn't have any friends in that class, but she did take the time to text Holly back telling her that she was in to go out later that night. After all, she deserved to let loose a little, right? Yeah... Wren sat through the whole class, catching up on work and doing a bit of studying. Thankfully, it didn't take long for the time to pass on by. Wren slipped her bag onto her shoulder before walking out of class. She headed back to her dorm room, unsurprised when Holly met her with the most extreme excitement. She was ever so ready to take her friend out for the very first time.

I'm so sorry I've been on a massive hiatus! I'd love to carry on if you would? Even though it's been 2 years

Theo had spent around 1 hour studying on his laptop next to Luke, focusing on his astronomy. Luckily, he was interesting in the topic or else he would've dropped out by now. He closed his laptop and started packing his notes and other bits away. Luke glanced over to him, who was just scrolling on his phone at this point, and had a cheeky smile on his face. "We ready to go to the pub soon?" Luke spoke. Theo just chuckled and nodded, "I'll get sorted and then we'll be good to go." He said. Luke clapped his hands together and grinned. He pulled his backpack over his shoulder and patted Theo's back. "I'll see you later mate, just call me when you're ready to go," Luke said and walked out of the room.
Theo finished packing his stuff away and walked back toward his dorm. He couldn't stop thinking about Wren, and he was definitely going to talk to her tonight, but he knew she probably wouldn't want to sit and talk to him all night. But, he would try and flirt with her regardless. And his friends would certainly help. Theo grabbed his key from his pocket and unlocked the door to his room, throwing his backpack on his desk and yawning. He was tired, so he began making a coffee from his Nespresso machine to try and wake him up. Theo didn't know how long he would be out drinking for, so he needed all the energy he could get.
After making his coffee, he sipped on it quietly, scrolling on his phone through social media. Theo was interrupted by a phone call from another one of his friends. He accepted the call and put his phone on speaker. "Hello lad! What time are we going to the pub? We're all ready to go." A familiar voice spoke over the phone. Theo chuckled and replied, "Not sure mate, just make your way there and I'll meet you there. The Golden Lion like normal?" Theo asked. The Golden Lion was the local pub for university students. "Yeah mate, we'll see you there," Theo hung up and started getting ready, turning the shower on and finishing his coffee.

Upon returning to the dorm, Holly whisked her inside, already gushing about how much fun they'd be having that evening. She spent the next twenty minutes going through Wren's clothes, making a mess of dresses and skirts on the bed in search for something she found suitable for the other to wear. "God, Wren, don't you have anything that isn't just... cute?" Holly chuckled, holding up one of Wren's floral patterned sundresses that happened to be her favorite. "What's wrong with cute?" She questioned, arms crossing over her chest as she gave her friend a sharp look. Holly held her hands up in a playful defensive way after replacing the dress. "Nothing, nothing! I just think it would be good to step out of your comfort zone," she reasoned, a mischievous glimmer creeping into her eyes. Wren hummed, obviously a bit skeptical. "Right, well, I'm going to take a shower. Try not to turn the room into a total wreck," she snorted before heading off into the bathroom to wash the day off of her. It was a quick, though hot and relaxing shower, her muscles relaxed and the scent of her sweet shampoo and body wash filling the air. She toweled herself dry before wrapping the fluffy white towel around her body, turning her focus to her hair. She added product and brushed through the thick waves before beginning to blow dry it. When she finally emerged from the bathroom, Holly was looking much like the cat who ate the canary. Eyeing her warily, Wren rose an eyebrow as though to silently ask what she had done. The other woman held up a particularly scandalous outfit- at least, scandalous to Wren, before announcing that it would be the perfect thing for her to wear. "Get dressed, love~ You're gonna look hot," Holly purred, tossing the outfit at Wren, who groaned dramatically. She would be the death of her. The pair had taken their time getting ready, but soon enough they had left for The Golden Lion. Holly had actually managed to convince Wren to wear the outfit she'd chosen, which was a shimmery little number that caught the shine of the light as she walked. The black skirt hugged her hips, the length flowing gently around the mid of her thighs, but no further. There was a cheeky peek of her midriff visible, the matching top being a halter top with a slightly plunging neckline. Holly was dressed similarly, which did help Wren feel more comfortable as they walked into the pub, heels clicking quietly against the pavement. The pub was already bustling with activity, music playing and people laughing together. The girls wove through the area, heading for the bar counter to grab themselves a drink. Theo finished his coffee, and took off his clothes that he had on during the day, throwing them in the laundry basket and hopping into the shower. He scrubbed his muscular body with shower gel, before massaging shampoo into his curly hair. He rinsed himself off and dried himself off with a towel, putting some products in his hair to style it. His hair was curly and styled well for his length of hair. Not too long, not too short. Theo dried off his body, spraying himself in his favourite aftershave that he always got compliments on. His phone kept buzzing, from Luke and Harry telling him to get to the pub, with a selfie of them holding pints of beer. Theo just shook his head and finished getting ready, throwing on his favourite black jeans, a nice cotton shirt and a black overshirt. He checked himself in the mirror and was satisfied with what he looked like. He wondered if Wren had decided whether or not she was coming. He hoped so, he had never really seen her in a social setting before and he was looking forward to it.
Theo quickly grabbed his wallet, keys and phone and chucked some chewing gum in his mouth. He threw on his trainers and was out the door shortly afterward. It was around 5pm at this point. He walked toward the pub that was around 2 minute walk away, before entering the small and cozy pub. It wasn't too busy at this time, but he could tell it was going to busy later. For some reason, Wednesdays were always busy for university students.
Theo scanned the pub and found Luke and Harry sat down in the corner. He said his hellos quickly and walked toward the bar to get his drink, which was always a lager. Or if things got messy, vodkas. As he approached the bar, he noticed the red hair of beautiful Wren. Theo smirked and stood next to her, leaning his forearms on the bar. He smiled at her and her friend, "Hello Wren. What are you girls having to drink? I'll get it," He insisted on buying both of their drinks, as a kind gesture, but also to pull her in so she had to speak to him. He was surprised to see her, but it was a nice surprise.

Wren was still wondering if Theo would be showing up. She had seen his friends already there, but no sign of him. She somewhat hated that she was actually looking for him, almost hoping that he would show up. Holly had been teasing her nonstop too as she tried to convince her to just give in and try things wild with Theo for a change. She still thought it was a bad idea, but her traitorous heart kept fluttering every time she thought about it. The girls had been about to catch the attention of the bartender when a familiar presence appeared next to her along with an absolutely mouth watering scent. Her heart leapt in her throat as she turned her head to look at Theo, giving him her usual glare, though the heat within it seemed lessened. "Theo," she greeted softly, doing her best not to seem pleased. Holly of course smiled, sneakily elbowing Wren before she could decline Theo's offer to buy their drinks. She shot a glare at Holly before her attention returned to Theo, her pink lips pursing as she looked at him. "Gin and tonics, please," she told him with a soft sigh, already knowing that it had been partly his plan to just have her talk to him. Her silvery gaze traced over the man next to her, admiring just how godly he looked. She wanted to run her fingers through his hair once more, and she even found herself wanting to get closer just so she could surround herself in his scent and warmth. Don't go letting your gaurd down. "How about we join you and your mates for a while? I certainly wouldn't mind some company," Holly spoke up, bringing Wren out of her thoughts as she gave the woman an incredulous look. God, she really would be death of her. "Holly, I'm sure he'd much rather spend his time with his buddies without us there," she reasoned before turning her gaze to Theo again. She was probably wrong, considering how bad he wanted her attention, but she couldn't believe how brazen she was being!

Theo smiled excitedly at Holly, who seemed as excited as he was about the fact that he was speaking to her, which boosted his confidence. He wasn't surprised to see that Wren wasn't excited to see him, and was met with a vacant expression as always. He nodded and looked to the bartender. "Two gin and tonics please, and a lager for me mate," he told the bartender who nodded and began making their drinks. He couldn't help but feel infatuated with Wren and how beautiful she looked. She looked even more gorgeous when she was dressed up.
As the bartender was making the drinks, he just kept looking at her, and he was just wondering what she was thinking. Was she interested in him? She must have been if she agreed to go on a date with him. But she never really let on at all. Theo paid for the drinks and handed them to Wren and Holly. Theo picked up his drink and turned to face Luke and Harry who were winking at him. Theo glanced to Holly who spoke up with music to his ears. Theo shook his head when Wren spoke, knowing she was probably cringing inside. He chuckled shortly and draped his arm over Wren's shoulder casually. "No, no, I'd love for you both to sit with us," he told them, and gently edged her toward the table where Luke and Harry were.
Theo sat down and patted the seat next to him for Wren to sit down, giving her a flirtatious grin as he did so. Luke and Harry both grinned happily and sipped on their pints. They may as well have had popcorn they were so entertained. "Hey Wren, hey Holly, nice to see you both," Luke said and put his phone down on the table. "I see you have a date planned for Friday, don't you both?" Harry said, glancing between Theo and Wren. Theo nodded and looked to Wren, waiting for her answer.

The girls thanked him as he handed them their drinks and Wren lifted hers to her lips for a quick sip. Just a little bit of liquid courage to keep herself grounded was all. She hadn't actually anticipated spending any time with Theo that evening, so she hadn't mentally prepared herself, but now she had Holly there doing everything to push them even closer together. With Theo's arm around her shoulder, she huffed softly, grumbling something beneath her breath as they started towards the table. Smug, the both of them. Wren resisted the urge to groan when he gave her that flirty smile, internally chastising herself when pesky little butterflies started up in her stomach. Nevertheless, she sat down in the seat next to him and took another swig of her drink before placing it down on the table. She was stationed close to Theo, arm brushing his as Holly made herself comfortable in one of the other available seats. "Hey boys, good to see you too," Holly greeted in return, flashing her usual friendly grin. She was no better than the boys as she looked to Theo and Wren as if they were the greatest source of entertainment around. Wren bit her bottom lip, nodding to Harry's question as she glanced at Theo. "That we do. I see someone has already been bragging about it," she spoke, raising an eyebrow at him before looking back at the other boys. She had expected nothing less, of course, and she was sure that it wouldn't be long before more people knew that she and Theo were going to have themselves a date. "He looked so pitiful that I just couldn't say no when he asked," she added, a teasing lilt entering her voice as she smiled, the expression cheeky. Of course that hadn't been the reason why she agreed, but it was a bit fun to jest.
