Fae's fur spiked at the appearance of a grey wolf from his hiding spot in the bushes within just a few steps of her and Ryko. She should have left before, when she had the chance. Before she could even get a good look at the wolf, her view was blocked by the bulk of Ryko, putting himself between her and the stranger. Ryko let out a low growl towards the wolf, trying to intimidate him with his size. It wasn't a bad idea, considering he seemed larger than him at first glance. "Stay back. We have every right to be here, so don't even think about getting closer." Edited at June 24, 2023 01:12 AM by SunFalcon

Dijkstra turned his attention back towards the male. Watching the way the male acted, Dijkstra thought it better to keep himself looking small. A low growl escaped his throat to match the males. "Stay back. We have every right to be here so don't even think about getting closer." Dijkstra heard the male say which perked his spirits. He took a small step forward as he fought the smile that tried to appear. He wanted to push the male to his limit for some reason. Edited at June 24, 2023 01:20 AM by Cypress Road

Ryko swished his tail in annoyance. He bowed his head and bared his teeth at the wolf. "Are you deaf or something?" He asked, pinning his ears back. "I said don't get closer." Fae tried to peek around Ryko and look up into his face. She was disturbed at how aggressive he was being when in reality no one, including the dark pack wolf, was doing anything wrong. In all honesty, she was surprising herself too. Before now, she would have said that she would act the same way if she encountered a dark wolf. With half of her delicate face peeking out from behind his fur, Fae tried to whisper quietly into Ryko's ear. "Do you have to be so aggressive, Ryko?" She glanced nervously towards the stranger as she spoke.

Dijkstras head twitched to the side and his eyes flited to the female. "Now come on I have just as right as anyone. I'm still in my territory." He said taking another small step closer. Watching now with a clear grin on his face. His pale nose twitched as he waited for a response.

Ryko rolled his eyes at the strangers words. His arrogance was testing his patience. When he caught his eyes flicking towards Faeris, his fur bristled even more. Protecting her and his pack was the only thing that mattered. "Sure, you do." He growled. "But the same applies to us. So why are you the one confronting us? We were about to be on our way." He glared in the wolf's direction, swishing his tail in anger.

"Just here to make sure no one closes into my pack."He said, now stepping up to the line. He straightened himself up a little but not all the way. He still allowed the other male to put on a show and tower over him. His eyes flicked between the two wolves for a moment before he chuckled and started to turn to leave. His ears twitched and his tail swayed brushing the ground. No need to display it in a dominant manner.

The behavior of the wolf in front of him enraged Ryko. He took another step towards the border and yelled out. "Hey! You can't just say stuff like that and then walk away, you mutt!" At this, Fae gasped. She didn't think that Ryko would be so rude to anyone. She understood, because it was a wolf from the other pack, everyone felt that way towards them. But she was still taken aback by the harshness she felt coming from Ryko. "Ryko!" She scolded. "Seriously, calm down!" Fae stepped around him so she could see the wolf before he disappeared into the forest. "Excuse me. Please come back, I just want to resolve this so we don't cause more conflict than there already is between the packs."

"Ryko is it?" Dijkstra said as he turned around. Now standing to his full height. "Now you listen here I have a pack to protect. I will not fight you unless it comes down to it. And telling by the way the female stands she's not yours so how bout you let her make her own decisions." Dijkstra said in a calm voice before turning his attention to the female. "Your pack mate here doesn't want to resolve anything. I find it best if I just be on my way. Please try to stay out of my pack territory." With that said, Dijkstra turned to leave again.

Fae watched Ryko's gaze carefully as the other wolf stalked away, making sure he didn't make any dumb decisions. She was glad it hadn't ended worse. Once the wolf was out of sight, Fae sighed and turned around flicking her tail to beckon Ryko away from the border. "Let's go home." She urged. "It's all in the past now, there's nothing we can do about it." Still unhappy, Ryko reluctantly turned to follow her. "Fae, if every wolf started acting like that, nothing would matter. No one would follow the rules, there would be so much conflict. I can't stand wolves like that." Fae resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she stepped across the soft forest floor towards the camp. "That's a little dramatic, don't you think?" "Not that I'm trying to be assumptive, but we both know how likely it is that we'll be the next alpha pair. Handling situations like that correctly is critical to that responsibility. I was just trying to do my job." Fae gave Ryko a disappointed look, pausing to look back at him. "Are you sure that was the right way? Not everything has to be solved with violence." Ryko stared at her for a moment before she turned around and continued walking. Unsure on how to feel, he stared at the ground in silence as the two walked.

Dijkstra, now in the shadows and unable to be seen glanced at the female one last time before heading back to his pack dens. Once back in the clearing, he spotted his mother almost immediately. No doubt she had thought he had left for good. Kenley padded up to him and looked Dijkstra over before saying "I was about to send a search party out looking for you. Where were you bro?" "I went to the border Ken. My instincts told me I needed to and I'm glad I listened cause a couple of the wolves from the pack next door was about to cross our borders. Doesn't look like they had any cruel intentions though." With that said, Dijkstra went up to his mother and rubbed his head against her neck. "Sorry mom. I didn't mean to scare you." He said and licked her cheek before heading to his den.
