Lily offered another small smile as he answered her question, he was obviously still preoccupied with the door. But at least he wasn’t repeating reassurances to her under the guise of calming her when it was more for himself.

“Orange, it catches your attention no matter the shade.” Lily replied casually. Though the impending danger from outside did set her a little on edge, if both of them were blubbering messes then it would spell the end for the both of them.

“Hm, what about your favourite season?” She leaned back on one arm, attempting to appear relaxed. “I like autumn, orange is everywhere then.” Lily gave a small laugh, forcing her eyes not to side over towards the door and its makeshift barricade.

The god was contemplating what Xevon was muttering about, he remained still until the man had finished his spiel. He rarely saw a point in being anything but his true form, though this irritating little creature did raise a good point. Though, he was still far from trusting Xevon with any secrets, he hadn’t proven he didn’t truly care about the people on the floor below. Simply harsh words.

“First things first, I have no proof you’re not here spewing trickery. You’re not going to get any information without some kind of proof that you have split from them. Especially Callisto, I have seen you two together so I will need convincing that you’re changed your mind overnight.” The god turned, beginning to head back down the hallway from where he had come from.

“I will take your thoughts into consideration. If she desires a suitor more akin to her own form, then she will receive it, I suppose.” It really did not bother him, if it meant killing people with flimsy human hands then so be it. Perhaps it would even be easier to coax her to him, within vicinity and eye line to be able to activate that pretty little ring on her finger.

Finn fiddled with his hands, shaking his head several times. This... but... but what if?

"My... what?" He turned his head again and paused. "Season?" Finn paused to think about it, sifting through his thoughts and mind. Seasons? Winter, spring, summer and fall. That... something seemed off in his mind.

"I don't think I had usual seasons," he murmured softly, tilting his head. "I think... actually, we had different ones. A wet and dry season," he said quietly. "But I don't remember entirely."

Xevon tipped his head lightly. Trickery? No, that would be far too smart from him. He was the type to simply just call out words, rile him up, heaven forbid he change something.

But he didn't have the lantern with him. Which means something in particular. The lantern would only come out when he was going to probably kill someone.

He paused briefly to think about the situation before looking up at the god, watching him go. That was... an odd reaction and he finally sank down into the other room.

Xevon paused, trying to figure out what had happened. There were no beds, no dresser and the two were on the floor talking about ... who knew what. He turned, briefly, to see the furniture piled by the door.

"Hey--"

Finn startled and Xevon raised an eyebrow, looking at the makeshift barricade. "What is this?" He gestured behind him with his thumb.

Lily tipped her head to one side, this wasn’t working as well as she had hoped. He was still frantically moving his hands around and stumbling over his words. Well, it was worth a shot. Though what he said was interesting, it seemed they came from different places, at least geographically. Which…made no sense in her head. How were they at the same place to be sent here together? Then she heard Xevon but was more distracted by Finn’s panic.

She flicked her head over, expecting to see the creature as well as Xevon but it was only the man. Her shoulders relaxed at the sight, following his gesture to the barricade at the door. He didn’t seem to think it was necessary.

“We thought it was coming back here. We heard it upstairs.” She offered, using the wall to pull herself up to her feet. “But it looks like he’s not?” Lily inquired cautiously, what Xevon had been doing up there she didn’t know. Yet, she did find it odd he didn’t have a single scratch on him. For a moment, her scrutiny came through in her eyes before she corrected herself.

Callisto had been aimlessly pacing for a minute, waiting. He felt slightly better, the healing hole in his ribcage was now more painful than his head and throat. So at least that was something. Extremely painful but short lived. Noted.

He paused in his tracks as he heard a familiar muffled voice from the next room over. He twisted his head around to look at the wall. Xevon was there. A small wave of relief came over him, relief that his friend hadn’t gotten into another fight up there.

Callisto approached the wall, taking a second to compose himself before he drifted through. He refused to be a babbling pitiful mess for longer than what he already had displayed. As he came through the wall, he blinked slowly at the astute lack of furnishings. Then he located them, behind Xevon and he cocked his head in question. Only just catching the end of Lily’s voice.

Xevon's dark eyebrow raised upward at her explanation. They had at least heard it upstairs, sure, but that meant that they had to go and do this...? Sure that was normal.

He shook his head lightly. "No. He was... doing what he does best, making a mess of a corpse," his tone was dry and flat. "But he didn't have the lantern with him either. Which means that every time he goes out, he leaves it up there. So if you two nutwads are really bent on killing this thing, you're going to have to go up and get to it yourselves."

His hands rested on his hips as he shook his head--he hadn't noticed Callisto yet either. "I mentioned that he should look different, or at least better, and he looked thoughtful. So, hopefully, by the time you have to take him on, he won't look grotesque and you won't get distracted by the way he looks."

One hand pushed through his hair as he looked toward the barricade before spotting Callisto. "Are you okay? You look... better at least," he commented briefly.

Finn stood up and took in a breath. "The daggers, right? Can we use them to destroy the lantern without getting close?"

Xevon shrugged. "I don't know, I haven't thought about touching that thing."

Lily furrowed her brows at the term nutwads. It wasn’t exactly her idea to be going after the god, but she wasn’t going to let Finn go prancing off on his own to go and do it. He’d be mauled. She let out a small hum of acknowledgement to what he had told to god. At least she wouldn’t be scared out of her skin, at least hopefully not.

Callisto blinked slowly again as he looked at Xevon, he gave the smallest of shrugs. “Better than before.” He quipped before drifting further into the room, he was a tad embarrassed by his own actions from before. Not that he blamed himself, it was extremely painful.

“You could use the daggers, but will it work? I have no clue.” Callisto answered, taking a moment to look over Lily who was staring at him once again. Her eyes were glowing with that vague recognition again and he didn’t like it. “That or your teeth can crack it in two.” He added on idly, twisting his body back around to drift to Xevon’s side. Facing the barricade, he glanced over it.

“You do know he cannot go through locked doors, correct? Why move all of the furniture?” Callisto asked a little sceptically, leaning his head to look directly at Finn. “No matter, I suppose.” Callisto quickly decided he didn’t care enough to hear the answer, lifting a hand and waving it in dismissal.

Lily offered the pale haired man a sharp look before returning her attention to Xevon who seemed to be the friendlier one at the moment, unexpectedly. “Should we go for the lantern first or find this mystical door you two keep talking about? In case things go wrong, we know where to run to?” She would try her best to help Finn in killing this creature but if things went south she wanted to get them both out of there as soon as humanly possible.

"I panicked!" Finn cried out, determining that he was rather tired of constantly getting looked at for the makeshift barricade. He had done it to help himself feel safer than before, even if the door was locked. He still couldn't trust it. He couldn't trust a lot of things!

His nose crinkled in dismay, a sharp scowling glare aimed at Callisto before huffing and shaking his head, throwing his hands above his head. "It's like you two were never actually human, I swear--"

"The issue," Xevon spoke as if he hadn't heard Finn, "with that plan is that the door moves. You could find it and by the time you get back down there, it'll have moved again. You'll have to go for the lantern first and then--if you haven't killed him, head to find the door. Or, better yet, just find one of these rooms and lock yourselves in. He doesn't have a key to any door, that's why he can't get in. You can't unlock something without a key and these fancy panels of wood have runes etched in the actual lock mechanisms themselves. They can't be picked or torn open," he gestured to the door behind him.

"While I think going for the door would be the smartest course of action, I can't tell you what to do," Xevon finally relented. "It's ... realistically... entirely up to you two."

Lily winced slightly as she heard Finn, she took a small peek over her shoulder to observe him. He looked okay enough, not like he was going to fly off the handle like before. He was just exasperated with the two ghosts. Her attention was quickly returned to Xevon though as he spoke, she scrunched up her nose a little before letting out a sigh. She supposed he was right, the damn thing could move. So either way, they’d be running or dying. That and Xevon made the brilliant point that the door is the smarter option but it looked like the decision had already been made.

Callisto lifted a hand and pushed back his hair, the fluffy mop didn’t stay where he had put it and it fell back down almost exactly where it had been before. If they wanted to go up and find the lantern, that meant Xevon and himself were going to have to lure the god away or just fight again and drag it out as long as they could.

“So, what are you going to do?” He cocked his head. He just wanted an answer, if they needed to fight then he was going to have to suck it up and ignore the dull pain in his chest and head. He gave Xevon a small glance, running his eyes over his body to determine if the man had been up to no good, but it seemed as though he was okay.

Lily crossed her arms across her chest and looked over towards Finntello, raising an eyebrow in question. “Are we going up there?” She asked lightly, trying not to let the heaviness of the question make her shoulders droop. If they were going up there, very quickly things would become a lot more dangerous and a lot more real. Until now, she had just been flitting about from room to room. Going up to this things lair seemed far more intimidating, but she forced her face to remain confident.

"I don't really want to go up-up there," Finn admitted quietly, his hand lifted up to rub against the back of his neck and eventually rested on his shoulder. "There... it feels like there is way more that can go wrong in the space of not a lot of time being in his space. But, at the same time, if we know that there's extra stuff that we can use against him? Great. Solid, why not?"

Xevon tilted his head, confused. "What...?"

"That guy has to have more stuff up there," Finn explained briefly, standing up from the floor. "More relics, more magic stuff--y'know. Stuff like that. Otherwise, we wouldn't have wings, they couldn't turn into lions--which is so much cooler in my opinion--there's gotta be more. More weapons, more stuff. There's a reason we have what we do and there's an origin for them. I have a feeling it's his lair."

Xevon glanced toward Callisto, unwilling to show much emotion. It was... a thought. That was about all he was willing to put to it. It was a thought. Was it a good thought? Not particularly. But did it potentially have weight? Only potentially.

"Do you have the ring?" Xevon finally asked, somewhat reluctantly. "I would rather you," he pointed to Finn, "wear it. He won't kill his bride but he will kill you. In a heartbeat."

Finn wrinkled his nose and huffed, mumbling under his breath about being some glorified chicken.

Callisto slowly brought his eyes round to look at Finn as he spoke, narrowing them as he went on. At least one thing he said was correct, lions are far cooler than wings.

“I have not been up there. I have no clue what he has up there. Probably hoards of bones, including mine.” He commented flippantly, turning around to look back at the barricade. It was an impressive barricade but totally useless.

Lily started and lifted her hand with the ring on it, shooting Finn a pointed look. She had told him that before, with a little bit of satisfaction she slipped it off of her middle finger and held it out towards him.

“Here you go.” She gave him a small smile. “We can go look for anything else useful.” Lily attempted to counteract the dismissal of Callisto with her own encouragement. The spiteful old man was just annoyed because he was in pain. “I’m sure there’s something we can use.”

Callisto kissed his teeth and looked over towards Xevon. “You have been up there, is there anything useful they can find? Or will it be a pointless search?” Despite his walls being back up, he did keep his eyes softer as he looked to his companion. Not so sharp a gaze that he directed towards the living, they just said stupid things sometimes. Xevon may do stupid things, but he’d grown on him significantly. When he first arrived, Callisto actively avoided him which is probably why his duo didn’t make it out alive. Instead he was left to rot in that room.

Xevon shook his head and paused before looking away pointedly after his ghastly companion's first comment. Well ... had he said that like a half hour ago, he wouldn't have been wrong. However, now, it was wrong. His bones were not up in the lair anymore. He ruffled his feathers slightly and settled back to watch Lily hold out the ring to the young man. Finn's nose crinkled ever so slightly before he reluctantly took the ring and slid it on his small finger again. "Thanks, I guess," he said softly.

Xevon shook his head lightly and lowered his hands from his chest. They moved as he spoke, almost trying to paint a picture. "I haven't been in the deep of his lair, I've been in the hallways before. ... the hallway. It's not laid out like the rest of the hotel. It's just one long corridor to an even larger ... cavern-like room. There's no door but there is a bed. Whatever else is in there, I haven't seen."

Finn wilted slightly. "So... no artifacts?"

"I didn't say there weren't," Xevon said quickly, "but I can confirm that I haven't been far enough inside to tell. But I'm willing to try to see what happens and what I can see, if you are willing to wait just a bit longer."

Finn shrugged lightly. "The longer we wait, the more information we get."
