Shakers attention was drawn away from the alpha as he heard the sounds of the pack beginning to stir around them. That was a good a reason as any to refuse the alphas request. The pack was waking and it would not be good for him to be seen speaking to the alpha in such a friendly manner or have the alpha speaking to him in such a familiar manner. His attention turned specifically turned to one of the pups that was waking up. "Forgive me for being so blunt, but I would rather not, Alpha. The pack is waking and it will do neither of us good to be speaking as we are." With that Shaker turned and bounded away through the snow to a small build up of snow next to a tree and very quickly dug through the snow until there was a small space just big enough for him to fit in.

Nala said "okay". She walked up to shadow who was a male pup and said "Where is your mom?" She was looking around and didn't see his mom but knew he shouldn't be away from her at the moment.

Shaker stuck his head and shoulders into the hole before pushing himself in and pulling his hind quarters as close to him as he turned himself around in the small space until he had his head facing out towards the rest of the back. He lowered himself to the snow below him and pulled his tail close to him and his legs as far as he could towards him in over to tuck them close to him and help preserve body heat. His head he placed next to his front paws and pulled his ears forward in order to listen to the happenings of the pack from his location. While he was trying to conserve heat, he was still ready to dart out at a moments notice in order to try and break up any fights that may start.

Nala heard Shadow say that his mother was over there. When he point to Winter, Nala was surprised she told the pup to follow her and she woke up Winter. Winter opened her eyes and saw her pup and said "Sorry about that Nala." Winter smiled and pulled her pup to her. Nala hear a commotion between a couple of Gammas. It was Dawn and Nino one of the male gammas it looked like they where about to start fighting. Nala sat down and thought I think I will see if they work out their differences .

Shaker caught sight of Winter and Nino beginning to stir for a fight. He crawled out from his cave quickly and started to trot over to where the two stood facing each other. He lowered his head and body slightly in a non threatening manner and whined softly to obtain the two wolves's attention. "Speak before you fight. With the weather as it is now, no good can come from a fight. One injured pack mate could hurt the entire pack's chances. Should be be attacked in some way by a bear or another pack what would happen? We would have one less wolf to fight." The chances of being attacked were low, but planting that little seed of doubt usually kept wolves from fighting.

Nala saw Nino growl at Shaker and ran over. She growled and they looked submissive. She said "I thought you could work it out but maybe I need to supperives for you two to talk it out." Then she looked at them and growled again and said "Talk it out I know you have noticed bear marks in the territory." She looked at Shaker and said "you where right about one thing bears are in the territory and we don't need injuries."

Shaker whinned in response to Nino growling at him in a submissive gesture that he didn't want to fight. Shaker drew back as he watched the alpha come over. What was this sudden need to be over here? The alpha had seemed perfectly content to just let the fight happen, and should have minded him trying to stop a fight. None the less, Shaker was surprised when the alpha agreed with him on his opinion on chancing injuries when there were animals and packs in the area that could threaten them. Ducking his head he made himself look as small as he could as he spoke, "Thank you, Alpha." With that said the silver male turned and made his was back over to the cave. Seriously, why did the alpha suddenly take an interest in him, now or all times?

Nala said "are you okay dawn and shaker." She heard dawn say yes and then she turned to Shaker and said " If I'm being honest the bear markings seem to be a young male adult at best". Nala saw everyone else start to wake up.

Shaker turned back to look over his shoulder when the alpha asked if he was alright. Nodding his head very slightly he spoke, "I am alright. Thank you for intervening when you did Alpha." He then turned and made his way back into his small little snow cave as the rest of the pack began to head their separate ways. The betas would likely be organising patrols of the area and hunting parties soon. While Shaker wasn't a good hunter, he could hold his own if he absolutely had to. Observation was more his forte. A sharp mind in exchange or a lack of fighting strength. He pushed his shoulders out from where the snow cave was and put his head back near his paws again to let the rest of the pack know where he was.

Nala looked at Shaker one last time. She walked over to her Betas and said "Can you start organizing hunting patrols and have a couple of wolves scout territory." After Nala finished talking to Winter she left. Nala was deciding on what to do but she couldn't think of anything. Nala just started to walk around the pack trying to figure out what to do.
